Just tried Oliv Pit last night, and we're thrilled to have it here in our neighborhood. We ordered the zucchini croquettes, the fries, a Greek village salad, and a veggie wrap, as well as a side of pita. Everything arrived quickly, and was absolutely delicious. The fries are slightly spicy and seasoned, and are outstanding. The salad and wrap were both delicious. Service was very good. I appreciated that the waiter who told us about the specials gave us the price of each one, which many places try to avoid doing. In general, our waiter was polite and attentive. The decor is really cute - casual, modern, and fun. Overall, we really enjoyed Oliv Pit and expect to be back very soon to try some of the menu items we missed this time. read more

The lively management and staff have revived Oliv Pit into what is one of the best Greek restaurants in the area. An Athenian grille, it only occasionally features Taverna style Greek food. OMG! Such delicious food! Without question, the best pita I have ever tasted. The fava bean dip was so tasty; our favorite of the dips. When the Impossible Burger wasn't available, the waitress suggested the grilled vegetables as another vegan choice. I had that in pita and it was scrumptious. My friend had the chicken in pita and she said it was delicious. Oliv Pit puts French fries in their pita sandwiches. But take them out and eat them separately; some of the best French fries EVER. If I weren't watching my weight, I would have ordered a side of fries. The service was attentive and the ambiance conducive to a relaxing meal. Going back in less than a week! The fact that this place is not packed every night is bewildering.Maybe it has something to say about the backward food culture in Boca. The service tonight was nothing less that spectacular-friendly and fast.The restaurant itself is newly redone,modern,with a relaxing ambiance and with enough room between tables for privacy. The food was better than anything I've had in Greece-and I've been there five times. The test to me is grilled Calamari-if it comes out non-rubbery and succulent it beats anything else around Boca and I have to say it it got an A plus. The feta fries,Salmon Kabobs,Pork Kabobs were all succulent and tasty. What can I say?-Beyond five stars,especially for the price-I felt guilty leaving paying such a small bill after such a feast! We showed up 30 minutes before closing and they greeted us with open arms, happy faces, very nice atmosphere, and delicious Greek fare. We had the Greek sampler platter which was a lot a bit of everything... chicken, lamb, beef, gyro... fantastic & enough for lunch tomorrow. YOU HAVE TO TRY THE ORANGE CAKE... YUM. The Oliv Pit Grille is located at 6006 SW 18th St. Boca Raton, FL 33433 Finally local Mediterranean food hits 18th Street in the newly updated shops at Village Pointe. They use compressed bricks of kalamata olive pits as fuel for their wood/charcoal grills. It imparts a subtle flavor, I would say you don't taste the olive but adds a nice wood fired grilled taste. Wide selections of starters between $5 and $10 price range and come with warm grilled pita bread. Appetizer - I had the calamari which was served with a lemon-garlic aioli - Above Average and unique Mediterranean Salad - Plenty of greens, feta, cucumbers, tomato, red onion - Excellent! Main Course - I selected lamb kabob - I would of liked more seasoning but they are leaning towards the full flavor of the lamb. Above Average Dessert - I selected the Baklava - Phyllo dough layered with almond, walnut, pistachio, cinnamon & a drizzle with honey-citrus syrup. Excellent! The interior was well thought out with a bit of contemporary chic very well done for a strip plaza. In addition, there is outside seating for those warmer nights. Emmanuel Vlahos stopped by three times to ensure our service was stellar and expanded upon his excitement for the restaurant. The Olive Pit Grill is a hit!! This place totally sucked!!!! I love Greek food and was excited to try this new place. Don't bother!! The serve is really bad, inexperienced staff. The dining area is really small and I felt like I was dining with the people at the table next to me. The owner was a hot head, screaming at his staff. Not what you want when your trying to have a relaxing dinner. They need to get it together if they want to stay open which I really doubt will happen! Too unorganized and chaotic especially for the prices on the menu. The Olive Oil that they sell they claim comes from Greece is nothing to write home about! I've gotten better olive oil at the local Publix. Don't bother purchasing that! Such a big disappointment! This place will never be able to stay open, that's for sure! read more

The worst service I have ever had. Nasty boss and waiter. One dinner served 45 minutes late. Some food good other food average. Uncomfortable seating. Noisy surroundings. Too expensive. Previously my best meals have been at Harry's in Cancun and Villa Mahana in Bora Bora. 2 weeks ago I had great Greek food at Halal Guys. I was really looking forward to a new Greek place opening around the corner from my house. After months of construction the place finally opened. I was there for dinner today - what a bit disappointment! Firstly the chairs are very uncomfortable, as hard as concrete. The ambiance is nice though -quiet, clean, uncrowded. We ordered the meal for two, reasonably priced but you defiantly don't get your money's worth. It was more like a meal for one not very hungry person. The salad was almost non existent, the skewers looked like kid portions. They throw in a bunch of the standard cheap pressed gyro meat to fill the remaining platter, a few pieces of miniature pita slices and sauces. The waiter had the personality of a house plant, we asked him for a spoon and he returned. Then to top it off they have this electronic payment system, you don't get a check, the waiter stands over you while you pull out your credit card and pay and include a tip - all very weird, did not like that at all. I really did not want to leave him a tip. Overall, in spite of the food being good, I would not recommend if you're hungry or a normal size guy. Sadly I won't be coming back. read more

Going to make it brief. Live close by. Watched and waited for it to open. Read previous negative reviews, but still wanted to base my own opinion. Appetizer of Hummus. Slightly runny, but good flavor. Came topped with capers and raw red onion. Served with 6 triangles of pita bread. Tasty, but portion is def small compared to neighboring Greek Restaurants. $7 I ordered the Greek Salad. As mentioned in previous reviews, protein additional charge. Not a big deal, common. Salad arrived timely. Tomatoes were mealy and powdery. Onion was quite strong. Cucumber skin rubbery. Ended up eating cucumbers, minus the skin, peppers and feta cheese. Left 50 % of it. Again, small portion. $13. I added a skewer of chicken. This ended up being the greatest disappointment. Chicken was all dark meat, with much of the fat and gristle still attached. I spent a tremendous amount of time dissecting undesirable parts. Truly not consumable. Left 80 % of it. $4 (inquired if I could pay an add'l charge for chicken breast, not offered there) Husband ordered Beef Gyro. Gyro served with 2 pieces of Beef... Tomatoes, same as on my salad. Fries were dry and powdery inside. Really had high hopes. Guess we will make the short drive and go back to Zorba's on Linton. read more

Wow what happened to this place? We were here 3 other times and the place was great. This time it was awful. The service was slow and not friendly. The Zucchini app was smaller and mushy. The mixed grill platter arrived first and the meat was dry and honestly just bad. We have had this before and it was delicious. Then instead of serving meals together, 15 minutes later the Branzino came out. It was awful and I will be nice and just leave it at that. It was nothing like the previous 2 times we have had it. It was so bad we sent it back. We were never asked if we wanted anything else. They just left us sitting. It was very awkward. So we packed up the dry old meat from the first meal and left. I do not know why we packed it up because after we thought about it, we just chucked it in the trash. We had to go to another restaurant and get dinner. We noticed the previous manager and staff were gone so I assume maybe new owners. What a let down from a place we used to enjoy. read more

We recently re-visited Oliv Pit for my mom's birthday and it was an absolute disappointment. Due to the pandemic, everyone in our party of 9 strives to support local business and to be as patient/understanding as possible, but it was beyond unacceptable. To start, we ordered a few appetizers but the calamari was bland, dry, cold, and maybe 6 pieces total. When we mentioned it to the server, he apologized and said "It was our last few pieces, so I'll just not charge you for it." So, they served us scraps. The server was overwhelmed (I believe he was the only server for their 8 total tables), but we made reservations a few days before for a Saturday evening, so the restaurant definitely had time to prepare. We had to continuously request new drinks, as the server never once checked to see how we were doing or if we needed anything. My husband, father, and brother all had to open their own beer bottles, as he did not have an opener--he handed them to us & left the bottles on the table for the entirety of the evening. Our empty plates remained on the table until we stacked them and handed them to the server specifically. An hour after we ordered our entrees, only 7 of 9 meals came out. We waited a few minutes before asking what happened to the other 2, as the server provided no explanation. Not sure if the orders were never put in or what, but it took an additional 45 minutes for their meals to come out. The kitchen staff (a female cook in particular) and one additional staff member (a busser? food runner? unsure) were incredibly rude when we expressed our dissatisfaction. That cook actually said to us "Well, it's only 2 items, why didn't you just start eating without them?" and she also argued with a member of our party. At the end of a nearly 3 hour ordeal (which should've been 2 hours tops), the server offered us a discount for the inconvenience and he was the ONLY one to apologize for our experience. No other apology or solution was offered by anyone to whom we spoke. He is the reason I am giving more than one star. We've been to Oliv Pit multiple times in the past and the food and experience are usually better, which is why we chose them for a special dinner. Wildly disappointed. read more

This place has a ton of potential, but very poor execution. The restaurant itself is decorated very nicely. It has a very authentic Greek atmosphere. However cleanliness is where it goes south. I did notice our waitress was cutting lemons without gloves, she was also touched the french fries with her bare hands, I'm assuming to see if they were cooked or not. We then continued to watch her scratch her ear and put her hands in all the other foods. It appeared one of the guys behind the counter in the kitchen was vaping. I asked for the lamb meatballs and I received the lamb gyro. They made the pitas one by one so By the time they were all done they where cold. I have no idea why people don't rate this place higher. The food here was amazing, true authentic Greek food! I wish they would open up a location further south. I have been to Milos on South Beach and this place is just as good if not better. I had the Greek salad, it was so fresh. Amazing food. Wonderful atmosphere. Very friendly and very fun staff. Morgan was amazing with suggestions on what we should order. Wine selection was awesome. Worth every penny. Appetizers tasted amazing! Chose octopus and spanokopita (spinach pie). First time visit, so went simple with Gyro for main course. Not disappointed at all!! Seasoned Fries inside were a nice touch.
