It was a rainy Sunday afternoon, and this place was surprisingly empty. They have 16 lanes for Candlepin bowling, and 11 (minus the two that were covered?) pool tables. We were charged $12 per hour for the 2 hours of billiards played, so with the $5 coupon I had printed from their website it was $8 apiece for the two of us.

I have to give Olindys 5 stars for putting up with my friends. I recently turned older (unfortunately) and thought it would be grand to go bowling for my birthday. I figured I'm 26 years old how many of my adult friends are going to want to go bowling on a Saturday night in December? Answer to this question is pretty much all of them. I thought it would be like 8 of us going bowling and the grand total was 23. I called in advance and booked 5 lanes and when we got there it was a pretty smooth operation. We got pretty loud due to the beer and wine mentioned in the first review, but they didn't seem to mind. Everyone had a fantastic time and I might do it again next year! It cost a little over $200 for 23 people to play 2 strings and rent shoes.

Two of my greatest pleasures in life are carpeted walls, closely followed by candlepin bowling, so Olindy's did not disappoint on either front.

Such a disappointment for a big Marriott. The rooms are falling apart (paint chipping off…read morewindowsills, ceilings, tiles coming up in bathrooms), shower heads not working. Food on the bedsheets, looks like someone pooped on the other. Ran out of hand soap, when asking the house keeper was told to use the shower gel. Was told the members lounge breakfast is 6-930. Food was gone at 9, apparently they have a sign inside the lounge that says 6-9. Would have been nice of the front desk to know that. For those of use lactose intolerant would be nice if you had some milk alternatives for the coffee. Only had half and half, but when asked if we could have atleast 2% lounge staff rolled eyes and got annoyed. Just wow! I travel a lot and always stay at Marriotts this is so below standards.

Staying here feels like trying to sleep in a war zone. Because of the flimsy construction, every…read moresingle sound is amplified. If someone walks overhead, you'll hear it. If someone shuts a door anywhere on the floor, it reverberates through your room like a shockwave. The noise is relentless to the point where it genuinely sounds like bombs falling in the distance somewhere nearby all day long. The building is so cheaply constructed that the entire room physically reacts to it. The bed shakes. The nightstand shakes. Items on the table rattle. I would be lying in bed and feel the bed shake when someone shut a door down the hall. I stayed in room 664, and I did not get a single night of uninterrupted sleep. I was woken up multiple times, sometimes by housekeeping noise and several other times by doors in the hallway slamming. Despite sleeping with two different white noise machines running, it was enough to shake the room and jolt me awake. It was impossible to relax in the room during the day or take a nap. My body was constantly tense, bracing for the next crash, slam, or bang. There was no sense of calm or quiet at any point. The main culprit is housekeeping, and it is completely out of control. They clean rooms with the hallway doors propped wide open, turning the corridor into an echo chamber. As they clean, they are aggressively slamming everything from closet doors, shower doors, glass cups, toilet seats crashing shut, hangers clanking loudly. I could clearly hear hangers clanging together, toilet seats banging, and doors slamming from eight rooms down the hall, all from inside my room with the door closed. Even the common areas are a nightmare. The lobby regularly had two different music tracks playing at the same time over the speakers, dueling music competing with itself, creating an absolute cacophony. The only bright spot was the breakfast staff, who were super friendly and professional. If you value sleep, peace, or sanity, do not stay here. I have never experienced anything like this and would never stay here again.

We fell in love with her, the house, everything including the murder-by-mail story behind the house from the 1800s. About 2 weeks before the party we called Kaitlyn and told her it was going to turn into our surprise wedding! She continued to be so helpful and excited, giving recommendations for all kinds of vendors we'd need. The day of the party she was professional and hands-on, making sure everything got done on a quick timeline. She calmed nerves and had great suggestions on where things should go to make sure everything flowed just right. Our rental price included some tables and linens she had available, and some glassware too. It was so perfect from the start and we couldn't be happier!!

Beautiful historic building who's tour guides added in a true life murder mystery of the lady of the houses death. This really added to the event as it was so my scene and absolutely fun. They also had a whiskey tasting since she was poisoned with whiskey which is ironically amazing. I would def host an event here because unlike the Newport mansions I could touch things and see things in the midst of being historically preserved since they're still restoring the house. Open Doors RI has found a new regular customer :)

Boston Bowl is a classic spot you'd come to growing up in Boston. We came here for an unplanned…read moredate night and had a great time. You can pay to play as little as one game of bowling, or obviously more if you'd like. If you don't want to bowl, they have a billiards room, an arcade, and AR darts. Plus there's a food spot which you can dine in or bring to whatever game you're playing. Prices are pretty reasonable and they offer certain discounts for students and I believe seniors. It was pretty packed on a Sunday night but we were able to walk in and grab a lane. Food was also good, although a little pricey and took like as there was only one woman behind the counter and two in the kitchen. Despite the wait for the food and drinks, the staff were working hard and did a good job. It was fun seeing my boyfriends childhood spot, and nice to see families and friends gathering around to have some in-person fun again. We also got to catch a glimpse of a bowling league in action so that was pretty cool.

Also, we came in on a week day and bowling is 50% off from 10pm-close. Not sure if it's an every day thing or not. The bowling balls can be a little greasy. My guess is lots of people eat and bowl with the same hand. I would just suggest definitely washing your hands for sure afterwards or if you're concerned, bring wipes! The food isn't bad. I actually enjoyed a nachos! They have jalapeños which added a nice kick. Overall, not a bad place to come for some bowling !
