Simply put, if you live in Northern Virginia and have a deep muscle/tissue problem, then you need to consider going to see Olga.
I had torn my hamstring in 2009 and here it was, 2019, and it still was sore every day...not painful, but it was sore enough to be discomforting, especially after sitting. I visited an orthopedic to determine whether an operation might correct the problem; I tried deep hamstring and quad stretching which provided some temporary relief; and I eventually tried 4 expensive PRP injections. Nothing worked and I had pretty much given up hope.
In January 2019, after a long drive, when I got out of the car the soreness in my hamstring prompted me to do one more online search for a solution. Who knows, maybe there was new technology available. No new technology, but I read that deep tissue massage could make a difference in some cases. I didn't really think massage would work for me but I was willing to grab any straw. I found Olga through online research and set up an appointment.
We talked, I told her I wanted to schedule once a week massages for a month to give this option a real shot. Olga said the first massage would be less concentrated on the particular problem area so that she could determine my structural strengths and weaknesses. So she did the massage, I felt pretty good and kept my fingers crossed that this plan of action would lead to a positive outcome. When I arrived for my second visit I asked her what she had determined from the first massage. She said she thought my hamstring problem was actually a weak/tight hip problem, not a hamstring problem at all. Huh? I had never mentioned my hip to her...although it did sometimes bother me, but not nearly as much as my hamstring. I told her i'd consider her diagnosis, but couldn't FULLY commit to it because it was my hamstring that was sore. Anyway, I started stretching/strengthening my hips and unbelievably I began feeling better and better for longer and longer. After 5 weeks of working my hips the pain in my surgically repaired knee went away and my hamstring soreness effectively disappeared.
A couple of doctors and PRP injections couldn't resolve a longstanding problem that Olga identified after a single visit. If you have an unresolvable pain problem you might want to schedule an appointment. Olga may or may not be able to make it better but what do you have to lose? read more
