This store has been a COVID friendly spot for fresh fish and meat to cook, high quality cheese, vinegars and oils and whatever else you need for delicious restaurant quality food for pandemic eating at home. The whole staff and especially Dena are helpful and friendly. You can order for pick-up, contact free shopping or enter the store joined by a few shoppers at a time. As comments have noted, it is expensive but not more so that high quality butchers and fish mongers anywhere else. Highly recommend this spot. read more

This is a great market to stock up on local snacks for a picnic! While it can get a bit pricy, the quality is great. I quickly found my favorite cheese in the entire world -- pecorino moliterno with truffles. The staff is friendly and attentive, so ask for a taste and it'll change your life! Highly recommended with the wizecrackers (garlic and rosemary flavor!). They also have a cute cafe on the side which stocks SoCo creamery ice cream. I had never really been a fan of mint chocolate chip ice cream (of that bright green variety), but after a tasting of their non-green version, I was hooked! read more

I found Olde Hudson walking down Warren and met the owner randomly on our first trip to Hudson while planning our wedding not far from town. I made stops in on various weekends up, and was always impressed at the variety of gourmet goods that we could secure locally. In the middle of the week, as we were planning out final details for the weekend with our friends and family, I reached out to talk about creation of a cheese board, but were working with a budget. It was suggested that we explore some of the great cheese and meat options they have and they would help us build it ourselves. We definitely spent a LOT of time reviewing cheese and picking out amazing tasty goodies for a fantastic platter featuring amazing items like a truffle pecorino and a sheeps gouda, dried salamis, olives and marcona almonds, and then finished off our time by having some delicious Soco ice cream in the newly opened cafe attached. Dena and her husband are simply delightful and the staff kept us laughing the whole time we were there. They advised what we should have and what we may not need so we didn't go totally overboard, and were only helpful and open, never pushy or overly persuasive to buy items that we were unsure of. No need for a Dean & Deluca when you have gems like this. So nice to be greeted by such a wonderful group of people and provided with great service and a fun experience. I will definitely be stopping by whenever we're in Hudson! read more

Was here earlier today for a quick bite. The places seem good until I went to use the bathroom which was right next to the kitchen, it was messy and seems to be more of a storage closet. It made me rethink supporting a this business and it's sanitation policy. read more

Barista was extremely rude. They were out of chai, ice for coffee (in the summer), and all diary substitutions.

The only redeeming feature in my estimation was that this was one of the few places purveying food on Labor Day, which is of little comfort. The service here was non-existent at best, with nobody offering to help us. I suspect that there has been too been too much exposure to the brusque New York City way of doing things i.e. wait until someone shouts you down to serve them. The baguette, hummus 2 brownies and 2 designer sugar waters totaled $18, which is rather steep for a city with crushing poverty a mere 2 block north. The dissociation between the pricing here and the people that actually live in the city is appalling. About the food; the brownies were boring and unimaginative; I could have just as easily gotten the same brownie from a Betty Crocker mix or a gas station. The baguette was almost entirely air and crust but at least palatable. The deli side was sold out of 3 out of 4 types of available sandwiches for that day and 2/3 soups. Thankfully one can eat outside to avoid the toxic levels of pretension and self-absorption going on inside the eatery itself. The atmosphere is noisy and uncomfortable for people who simply want to enjoy a meal in peace. The market side of the store sells fresh-ish looking vegetables but not at a price range for the local populace; designed for weekenders who seem to have more money than sense. Organic food does not need to cost that much! Overall, perfect if you are a self-important person with more money than you need, but a sad experience for the local who just wants to eat. TL;DR: an-overpriced grocery and deli with poor customer service, hawking bourgeoise food items for people so removed from reality that they believe money can buy everything. read more

This place appears to be incredibly bourgeois and trendy; however, that doesn't mean the service should be minimal and surface level. Perhaps the day that my family and I came was a training day for new employees, but upon entering there were three people behind the counter helping one man. Nobody acknowledged our presence, attempted to take our order, or say "We'll be right with you." My husband and I went to Hudson for day and happened on this store. We love the atmosphere and thought it was a nice local shop. The cheese was delicious so we ordered a quarter pound of three different kinds, ranging from $24.99/lb to $28.99/lb. When we arrived home we had 1/16th of a pound of one, 1/3rd of a pound of another and 3/8ths of a pound of the last. We were disappointed in the service especially considering we could have bought the same cheeses elsewhere for half the price. We just wanted to support a local business. read more

Dena helped me plan appetizers for my daughter's rehearsal dinner ( 80 people ). I spoke with her a few times before we came to town and finalized when I arrived. She made 3 gorgeous ( and delicious ) cheese platters, a vegetable plate & I bought a few other assorted yummies. She helped me plan the correct quantity and variety. Her choices were spot on and I LOVED the cheeses...........best quality! She was a delight to work with and the store is filled with top notch treats. Went today for lunch with my mom and my two nieces. We ordered our lunch and went outside to sit and eat, the outside seating is not conducive to children. The only tables left were high stools and sorry but a 2 year old and a baby in a car seat can not be put on high stools. There's seating for the restaurant next door that shares the same building and that restaurant was closed. We sat at one of their tables and awaited our food. As we sat there waiting the waitress put our food on one of the tables with the high stools. She didn't even attempt to see where we were. Then we said we are here and she said you can't sit there. We told her okay, in the meantime she went in to get the rest of the order the man that owned the place that we were sitting smiled and waved at us. He did not tell us to move. The chef comes out with the rest of our order and throws it on our table yelling at us to get up. When my mom tried to explain we just were talking to the chef at this restaurant and it was okay he turned his back and dismissed us. Totally rude and unprofessional. Not to mention they served us a half rotten avocado. How are you okay with serving rotten food, then think it's okay to throw a plate down on a table and dismiss paying customers.
