We stopped here one evening after a BMX race and had a great experience. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who was very personable and made us feel welcome as she showed us to our table. The menu had a great variety of options, including several daily specials. We ordered burgers, soup, and one of the specials--a NY strip steak served with sautéed broccoli, loaded mashed potatoes, and onion rings. The steak portion was huge! I ordered it medium, but it came out closer to medium-rare. It was still very good, just a little more red than I prefer. Overall, the portions were generous, the prices were reasonable, and the food offered excellent value. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive. We'd definitely stop back the next time we're in town for a BMX race! read more

Went for a quick lunch. PARKING - pretty ample as the establishment is in the stop and shop strip mall by the town hall. ENTRANCE - they have a hostess station but it was an empty lunch session. However, a person quickly saw us and took us to a booth AMBIANCE - looks somewhat new with redone booths and a gray color scheme. Plenty of tables. They have a separate area where they obviously do takeout pretty heavy. Pizza I suspect. LUNCH MENU - fairly large with a variety of items to choose from APPETIZERS - tried the broccoli rape dish with sausage. It was prepared differently and the design with white beans, sun dried tomatoes, and thin chips on top was unique. The mixture was quite good. Only draw back was the broccoli rape was a little bitter SPECIAL ORDER - they were kind enough to take a Caesar salad order, and make it a wrap with chicken. ENTREE - I tried the linguini pomodoro that fell short. The sauce had way to much cheese so you couldn't taste the pomodoro flavor. A low point for me SERVICE - our waiter was spectacular. Friendly and super attentive. PRICE - for lunch it was reasonable. One appetizer, a wrap, an entree and 2 sodas came to $55 before tip. OVERALL - this is mixed for me. I'd give it a 3 and a half if I could. Rounded down for the food which was basically OK read more

Food is sub par. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. You'll be happier. Management will fight you for a refund.

The chicken was the most tender delicious chicken that I've ever had in a restaurant and I am obsessed with it I definitely need to go back. The service was great there was a lot of indoor seating. There is also bar seating it seemed like it was a local regular. Definitely a local favorite. I can't wait to go back and try more options. read more

Old Towne Restaurant - French onion soup - Pizza Near Me - Trumbull, Connecticut

Old Towne Restaurant is an American diner-style restaurant that opened in Trumbull, Connecticut in 1989. It was founded by Greek immigrant and restaurateur George Kotsaftis. Born in Lapata, Greece, Kotsaftis immigrated to Connecticut with his family when he was 15-years-old. As an adult, he became a restaurateur and opened businesses such as J's Pizza in Danbury and Newtown Pizza Palace. By 1989, he had opened Old Towne Restaurant in Trumbull and cemented himself as a beloved businessman in the local community. At Old Towne, customers can choose from a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes that are prepared with fresh ingredients brought in daily. After 10 years in business, Old Towne moved into a neighboring space at the plaza and doubled in size, adding a private event room in the process. Kotsaftis retired from the restaurant business in 2000 and Old Towne was taken over by his children Dean and Catherine. The elder Kotsaftis passed away in 2024. My wife and I recently had lunch at Old Towne Restaurant. She had already visited a number of times and was excited for me to try the food there. The interior was nice with a big dining room as well as a fancy bar area which looked a little newer. Our server gave us some complimentary cheesy bread to munch on while we looked over the menu. My wife ordered the same thing that she orders every time she comes: the "Old Towne Chicken Salad" (baby greens, gorgonzola cheese, dried cranberries, candied walnuts, granny smith apples and char-broiled chicken breast with a side of house vinaigrette dressing). She remarked, "It's my favorite salad ever!" I decided to follow my wife's lead and go with a salad too. I chose one off of the specials menu: the "Mediterranean Steak Salad" (grilled ribeye steak on a bed of baby greens topped with fresh mozzarella, white beans, cherry tomatoes, Kalamata olives, garlic croutons, a sprinkle of parmesan cheese served with house-made creamy balsamic dressing). It was seriously one of the BEST salads I have ever eaten! We had an excellent experience at Old Towne and we look forward to returning in the future! read more

Generous portions of unique and delicious dishes. Classic and somber atmosphere. Quiet with a bar on site.

I had lunch with a friend here during the week as this was a location halfway between us. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated. The place is clean and fresh in terms of aesthetics. It's nice that the bar is separated from the main dining room in terms of noise reduction. Our waitress was attentive and our food came out in a timely manner. I had the mozzarella avocado special with breaded eggplant and tomoato and my friend had the eggplant sandwich. My friend enjoyed her meal and mine was also very delicious. The breaded eggplant was perfectly fried, crispy, but not heavy with grease and paired well with the fresh moz, avocado, tomato. Our entrees were both under $15, which is a decent deal given food prices. The meal is served with their house cheese bread, which was tasty and a nice addition while waiting for our meal. When I asked for a box for the remainder to bring home to my little kids she was so sweet and brought me a whole other fresh serving! A nice reminder that humanity still exists in a tough world. At least for a first time patron perspective if you want a reasonably priced meal, kind service, and solid tasting food with a decently diverse menu for an American Italian themed restaurant Old Towne is a worthy stop. I will consider returning in the future! read more

Great place to hang out. It's not to be busy in this joint. The food choice they have is lot , it took me a while to read the menu.

Old Towne has been a Trumbull staple since 1989. Now in its 35th year, and replete with a fresh remodel and an updated menu, the service is consistently good. The inside is deceptively roomy & the bar area isn't overly noisy, either. Perfect for couples and families alike. read more

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this Italian-style/Greek restaurant, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between cozy and elegant, with a spacious back room that's ideal for larger groups, celebrations, or just enjoying a more private dining experience.. and I found a new best server Heather she was so great and excellent very attentive outgoing fun spirited and we had a great time dining. read more

Old Towne is a spacious restaurant conveniently located in a small shopping plaza that is tucked between Route 127 & Rt 111/Main St. Trumbull. OT excels in providing diners a variety of entrees & daily specials served quickly & competently by attentive servers. This restaurant could be classified as an upscale diner hybrid of sorts with a separate full bar area, dining room booths & a back room party space. Some entree prices may seem high but the food quality does meet the price point. OT does a thriving pizza takeout business & offers traditional crust & thin crust pizzas. I have gone to several pizza party type gatherings in this back room & have never been disappointed. read more

Lived in the area over 10 years, today was my first time I went in and ordered a pizza. I was very pleased with what I got. The pizza not only looked good, it was full of flavor. I will definitely order it again. The place was busy for a Sunday night and even with the busy pace the counter person was friendly and attentive to the specifics of my order which the kitchen staff correctly prepared in a timely manner. Happy I decided to give the place a try and add the takeout menu to my go to collection of favorites. read more

Did Trumbull Food Week at this restaurant. Prefix menu was looking good until we were told the item we wanted had not been delivered to the restaurant. This was at 1:30 in the afternoon. Since that was not our problem we asked to substitute something of similar value from the menu. We were told no that we had to pick one of the other items. That wasn't what we wanted. Told by the owner no changes could be made. Bad customer service. Normally we eat there once in awhile but no more. It would be simple to do the exchange and I don't know what others did, but we wanted the item and not my fault if delivery was delayed since 9am that morning. read more

Most kid menus are unhealthy, including this one, so I always try to give my 3 year old real "adult" food. I specifically chose Old Towne because I figured I could get a scoop of tuna for $9 or so, around the same price as the other options on the kid menu. I ordered myself the tuna melt which was $14.99 and included avocado, cheese, fries etc. The manager said she could NOT give me a scoop of tuna unless she charged me the full price of another tuna melt. She went on and on about the price of tuna. I am sorry but is this sushi grade tuna? Caviar of the Sea? Also how is a scoop of tuna with no bread, fries, avocado etc $14.99? The loss of a customer is much more than what it would have been to accommodate a simple request. The manager was neither polite nor understanding and frankly we won't be back. read more

Over priced. Also when I complained about my "appetizer" that the eggplant was undercooked, not breaded, the owner came out and told me it was breaded and that I moved the breadcrumbs aside. *PLATE DETECTIVE? She was not customer friendly, and condescending. She told me not to reorder it because it would be exactly the same. The eggplant was undercooked, skin on, and soggy with a poor presentation. I used to get this torte on a regular basis and it was much better. I'm totally turned off by this Place and her attitude. However, The waitress was very nice and I could see the owner made her very uncomfortable. The owner had an attitude like a bully. read more

My husband and myself went to this restaurant about a month ago and I ordered a crab cake sandwich and it was horrible. It was much smaller than before and fried beyond belief. It was burnt also. Walked in , sat at the bar none of the 3 servers acknowledged me. The guy who was manning the bar area walked to the back after literally 10 minutes I got up to walk out and realized that there was a server who was sitting down counting her tip money there the entire time. I asked was no one going to assist me and she said the guy is in the back. I walked out. I've been in Trumbull 5 years have never frequented that spot and thought today would be a good day to support a small business. Won't ever go back there again read more

I ordered the BLT with chicken and while the sandwich was delicious, the portion was incredibly small. The chicken was flavorful and tender, and the bacon was crispy. But it seemed like it was about half the size of a normal sandwich. Moreover, the coleslaw smelled like literal rubbing alcohol, and tasted like it too. I was also disappointed by the sweet potato fries which were soggy and barely warm. The wait was fairly short and the staff was friendly. read more

I wanted to give one star but I did have a few good experiences here before the COVID thing. Ordered onion soup... Was cold. Ordered pizza... Cold yet burned. It tasted like they cooked it earlier and then attempted to reheat hours later. They also must have left it at an angle on the first cooked attempt because the cheese mostly slid to one side. Ordered a beer... Took 20 minutes... And was awful due to dirty tap taste. I'm sorry for the price, this experience left me so disappointed, it may take years to come back. read more

If I could give this restaurant a 0 I would. 152.00 from door dash for a crab cake that was unrecognizable and smelled like old rotten fish, a steak sandwich that barely had any onions or peppers and no cheese and steak was mostly fat. Coconut shrimp was reheated shrimp cocktail that was thrown into a fryer with a coating and burnt, burger was raw. I would say stay as far away as possible! Solidly average but so much potential. Really cute place in a great location. Ways to take it up a notch: 1) turn the lights down! The bright lights make it feel more like a cafeteria and kill the ambiance. 2) whittle down the menu. Way too many options. Perfect a smaller menu rather than trying to appease too many 3) smaller portions. Yes, smaller. The Alfredo and rice pudding could serve at least 2 people. read more

Five Stars..easily. This is a great place to dine. Located in the heart of Trumbull, it features great food, a wonderful staff and a warm welcoming environment. First the food. Let us start with the Nachos. They are spectacular. The platter easily feeds three people and the cheese they use is great. You can order this is your main meal if you want. They make a yummy Chicken Francese and their Cobb salad is excellent as well. Chicken has a great fresh taste. They offer Pork Chops both breaded and non breaded so take your pick. And they have brunch on Sundays. If you have not had their Belgian waffles you should try them. Their presentation is so pretty you almost do not want to eat them. And now to the pizza! Spectacular! Try their sausage topping. They use real sausage on their pizza. It is so good I can't even put it into words. And they have thin style margherita pizza too if you like your pizza on the thin side. Also the warmth of the staff is amazing. When we had a passing of a family member they actually came over with plates of food for us. These are terrific people and the restaurant is perfect for any occasion. Since the menu is so huge, I think anyone can find something they like. Old Towne reflects the best of Trumbull.. read more
