The chicken was the most tender delicious chicken that I've ever had in a restaurant and I am obsessed with it I definitely need to go back. The service was great there was a lot of indoor seating. There is also bar seating it seemed like it was a local regular. Definitely a local favorite. I can't wait to go back and try more options.

Old Towne Restaurant is an American diner-style restaurant that opened in Trumbull, Connecticut in 1989. It was founded by Greek immigrant and restaurateur George Kotsaftis. Born in Lapata, Greece, Kotsaftis immigrated to Connecticut with his family when he was 15-years-old. As an adult, he became a restaurateur and opened businesses such as J's Pizza in Danbury and Newtown Pizza Palace. By 1989, he had opened Old Towne Restaurant in Trumbull and cemented himself as a beloved businessman in the local community. At Old Towne, customers can choose from a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes that are prepared with fresh ingredients brought in daily. After 10 years in business, Old Towne moved into a neighboring space at the plaza and doubled in size, adding a private event room in the process. Kotsaftis retired from the restaurant business in 2000 and Old Towne was taken over by his children Dean and Catherine. The elder Kotsaftis passed away in 2024. My wife and I recently had lunch at Old Towne Restaurant. She had already visited a number of times and was excited for me to try the food there. The interior was nice with a big dining room as well as a fancy bar area which looked a little newer. Our server gave us some complimentary cheesy bread to munch on while we looked over the menu. My wife ordered the same thing that she orders every time she comes: the "Old Towne Chicken Salad" (baby greens, gorgonzola cheese, dried cranberries, candied walnuts, granny smith apples and char-broiled chicken breast with a side of house vinaigrette dressing). She remarked, "It's my favorite salad ever!" I decided to follow my wife's lead and go with a salad too. I chose one off of the specials menu: the "Mediterranean Steak Salad" (grilled ribeye steak on a bed of baby greens topped with fresh mozzarella, white beans, cherry tomatoes, Kalamata olives, garlic croutons, a sprinkle of parmesan cheese served with house-made creamy balsamic dressing). It was seriously one of the BEST salads I have ever eaten! We had an excellent experience at Old Towne and we look forward to returning in the future!

I never got to taste my food. Please get stronger bags or better containers that don't leak. I have a 10 minute Drive home...and after a 12 hour shift, nothing is more depressing.

Old Towne has been a Trumbull staple since 1989. Now in its 35th year, and replete with a fresh remodel and an updated menu, the service is consistently good. The inside is deceptively roomy & the bar area isn't overly noisy, either. Perfect for couples and families alike.

Lived in the area over 10 years, today was my first time I went in and ordered a pizza. I was very pleased with what I got. The pizza not only looked good, it was full of flavor. I will definitely order it again. The place was busy for a Sunday night and even with the busy pace the counter person was friendly and attentive to the specifics of my order which the kitchen staff correctly prepared in a timely manner. Happy I decided to give the place a try and add the takeout menu to my go to collection of favorites.

Stopped in to meet with a friend and it was good. We immediately sat and placed our orders. I had a grilled chicken salad which was really good. The restaurant was nice, they had a large dining area.

Generous portions of unique and delicious dishes. Classic and somber atmosphere. Quiet with a bar on site.

Great place to hang out. It's not to be busy in this joint. The food choice they have is lot , it took me a while to read the menu.

It says that it's a choice. Whatever you order in store, you pay extra for having your sandwich on one of their choices. For example, my kids ordered a bacon, egg and cheese. An extra $2.50 for a croissant when it's part of their choices. I ordered a large caramel iced coffee, which was tolerable. Again choices on the online menu said caramel, vanilla, hazelnut available. What it should say is $1.00 extra for flavors. The service is very slow. My kids and I waited about 30 mins for 3 sandwiches. A tuna mac was also ordered. The total came to $63. Never again.

For a small bakery, the range of offerings is impressive: everything from French toast and quiche to wraps, bagels, and an array of coffee drinks. I ordered the gluten-free everything bagel with lox and cream cheese. The lox was fresh and flavorful, but the bagel itself was average--I assumed it would be toasted and wish I'd asked. I also missed the usual red onion slices that typically accompany lox and cream cheese. We took an Alexander sandwich to go, hoping that one's a winner. It was yummy, according to the recipient. My daughter ordered a wrap and said it was "a-ok, not remarkable." Her iced coffee was fine, not great. Overall, this bakery feels welcoming and capable. Nothing knocked our socks off, but it's a pleasant spot to sit with a latte and something to eat. I'll definitely stop by again when I'm in town.

NEVER AGAIN! We have been patrons of the Galaxy Diner for…read moreyears, having eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner and stopped last night for dinner. I ordered Roast Beef Au Jus, with mashed potatoes and apple sauce. They don't serve rolls, salad or anything extra, and when the roast beef arrived, it was slices of DARK GRAY BROWN with NO pink, floating in a cup of over salted "au jus" and was inedible! I tried to eat the meat, gave my husband a piece, he said, "don't eat that!" When I told the server, she brought over a guy who I assume was the owner or manager. I told him the meat was not fresh, tasted old and, instead of apologizing, he started BULLYING ME INSISTING HE WOULD CHARGE FOR EVERYTHING BUT THE BEEF, and LOUDLY kept repeating the meat was "fine" and that I "just didn't like it!" Well, NO SIR, yes, the MEAT WAS HORRIBLE and he kept arguing and insisted "is it fair?" to charge me for the potatoes, applesauce and salad. GUESS WHAT? He charged $7.25 for a side of mashed potatoes, $4.50 for a tiny dish of applesauce, and $4.95 for the salad! The salad was bagged mixed lettuce which was thrown into a bowl, bits of wet spinach and wilted lettuce mixed up, it was just AWFUL! So, my "dinner" cost $16.70 with no meat! Now, Galaxy Diner WAS one of our favorite diners but NOT ANY MORE! Unless that owner changes his attitude and cleans up the diner, business will continue to shrink! And IT HAS shrunk! Now we know why the diner isn't HALF as busy as used to be! GOOD LUCK AT ATTRACTING AND KEEPING NEW CUSTOMERS!

One reason it took me so long to try AFFILIATION - I learned that this place is a second location for massiminos in Bridgeport which is a pretty Italian place in its own right ENTRANCE - as you come in you can see the main counter in the back. There are a few tables around if you want to sit and eat/drink coffee. AMBIANCE - it's a very clean and deli looking decor. DRY PRODUCTS - they have a small selection of Italian items from dried pasta to jarred sauces. Typical brands that you see in supermarkets or other Italian stores. There are a few imported from Italy brands but I'm no expert to say yea or nay PIZZA - they have at the counter a pizza station where you can a buy by the slice. They looked pretty good with a lot of variety. COFFEES - they have regular plus they make expresso, macchiatos, lattes etc. I tried the macchiato which was excellent PASTRY- they gave a few at the counter. The breakfast buns and treats. I noticed a crème pastry which I tried. It was OK but in reality the pastry part was super good but the inside crème would have been better if it was like a Boston cream filling SERVICE - definitely 5+ stars. The employees couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Very congenial with small talk. Not the usual cold QSR attitude you get from the fast food chains PRICES - I only got coffee and a pastry that was over $8. I'd say average or a little on the higher side but I didn't look at the menu on the screen too closely although it was a little difficult to see.
