    Fish 'n Chips

I visited this location for a weekday lunch recently. I ordered the fish and chips and wow! The portions are huge here. The tartar sauce was delicious and the fish was crispy- would definitely order this again. We sat inside but they have a huge patio I want to check out when we have warmer temps and I also want to explore their drink menu too! Only reason for 4 stars- it took awhile to get my card back and we were late to get to our next appointment.

Very disappointing experience today at Old Blinking Light. Sadly, the service was going well and we were having fun. I was with my wife and younger daughter. My daughter ordered the fish tacos. She found a plastic tortilla clip (piece of it) in her taco. I get that accidents happen, but the response to this list a local customer however. Common sense would say you comp the meal or even the whole bill, but nope not here. They charge my twice for those tacos and comp once. Just unreal experience by this restaurant management. So bummed that this place didn't shine given we are locals. Take my advice--look elsewhere for you next time

Love the new vibe and changes creating a great open atmosphere. Food is excellent. Nicole was a great server. Table next to us had the Taos Enchiladas and cleaned their plate. Salmon was top notch. Yum!

Horrible Bloody Mary lacking all the things bloody Mary's traditionally come with, including the vodka.

We came here for Mothers Day brunch and the experience was a total disappointment. The service was absolutely horrible. Our waitress could care less that she had a table to service; oftentimes just hanging out chatting with the other servers. We came at 2pm for a reservation and it was not busy, so there is no excuse for the lack of service. We waited for quite a long time to get our drink orders. We ordered Bloody Marys, which anyone who has ever had one knows typically is served with garnishes, like celery, a lime/lemon, olives, etc.; these were served with nothing. It tasted like it was just Bloody Mary mix and no vodka whatsoever. So we asked to return them and ordered other drinks. Those took some time to get and were fine. The food quality was good- no complaints there. But we had to ask for silverware after the fact vs it already being on the table or brought with the food. She never came to see how our food was or to ask if we needed anything else. We had to ask another person working the dining area for additional drinks, which then, surprisingly never got "registered". We finally got the last round after we finished everything and already boxed up our food to go. We used to come here often before the new ownership/reopening, but we won't be back after today's experience.

food: 35/50 service: 25/25 ambience: 20/25 total: 80/100 Three stars mostly because the waiter samuel was so nice. The food was good not great for the price-- we ordered the taquitos to start. ($12) Note you only get 4 pieces. The taquito's green salsa made it taste good because the chicken itself was dry and not tasty. I ordered 2 apps to eat-- the beet salad appetizer and the sweet & spicy shrimp appetizer. The shrimp was not spicy, it definitely was on the sweet side. Decent amount of shrimps for the cost. ($15) The beet salad was really good, refreshing with goat cheese and pumpkin seeds. It was also well priced. ($10) Hubby got the prime rib dip, which he overall enjoyed. The con was that the portion seemed a bit small for the cost ($22) For dessert we got Juans flan ($6) and the brownie sundae ($8). Both were good, would recommend the brownie sundae over the Juans flan.

The alcohol selection seemed decent (I can't say for sure as I am always happy with cheap beer) and although I didn't try the food there, my bandmates said that the hot dog was really good and the birria grilled cheese is to die for. I will make sure I go back and try them both! If you are looking for a good time at a local bar with good people, Papa's Public House is your place! The appetizers alone are worth the visit, do not skip the spicy tuna crispy rice cakes (perfectly balanced with just the right kick), the edamame (simple but elevated), and the hamachi, which was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. I am still dreaming about that spicy tuna crispy rice cakes!!! The cocktail menu deserves its own spotlight. The rosé spritz was light, refreshing, and dangerously easy to sip, while the margaritas were perfectly crafted and bright, balanced, not overly sweet. Cocktail presentation was A+! The Tajin rim on the margs...next level. For the main course, the salmon was nothing short of perfection, cooked flawlessly and paired with the not-to-be-missed cilantro lime rice, which honestly deserves its own fan club. Absolute chef's kiss. And let's talk sushi, because wow. The mango tango roll was vibrant and flavorful, the torched salmon roll melted in your mouth, and the atomic roll brought just the right amount of heat. Each roll was as beautiful as it was delicious!! Our only regret? Not saving room for dessert. Apparently, the bread pudding is the talk of the town, and after everything else we experienced, we have zero doubt it's as incredible as everyone says. Bottom line: if you haven't been to Smokin Fins yet, go and go hungry. You'll already be planning your next visit before you leave!!

Firstly, Wahoo's used to be my and my daughter's favorite restaurant (like 15 years back or so.) As we grow older, the test of time comes with waves of changes in our lives. I don't remember when our passion for this casual seafood taco place diminished completely where we simply stopped going. It's as if it fell into oblivion without a trace. Our go to location was the one on I-25 and Hampden. Right, it's no longer there and that could easily be why our stopping to go. This, especially for me, might be an excuse because my work (which I go in for 2 days a month ever since COVID) is only a stone's throw from this location in Highlands Ranch which I can casually walk to with no significant effort. Today happened to be one of those in-office days. I skipped lunch but at around 2:45pm or so, getting me a bowl of protein rich food (all of a sudden) hit me. After browsing where to go for such food, Wahoo's came up in my search. And after browsing more than a handful of photos uploaded on Yelp, some dishes looked so appealing. A little after 3pm, I walked over to it as I was getting quite hungry. Some past diners posted photos of what's called "Paleo Bowl" or something like that. Upon being greeted by one of the workers at the ordering counter (by the way, she was very welcoming!!) I inquired about it to which she said "Oh, it's now called Protein Bowl". Aha! That makes sense. Without any further thought, I wasted no time to order it. For this bowl, you pick two proteins of your choice. I went with fish and tofu. The total after tax was about $17 with sone change. Not bad. Within the next 10 minutes, my food was ready. The same pleasant lady handed me my food and off I went to go back to the office. I didn't immediately eat it. i actually ended up waiting until I got home to eat it. When I finally sat down at my dining table it was a little past 4:40pm. My super late lunch/early dinner finally started. And oh wow, this bowl is no joke about protein. There is absolutely no carbs or whatsoever in it. Besides the two proteins, there were only veggies such as broccoli etc. Absolutely a guilty free meal for sure. Well seasoned with just the right amount of salt, the dish will be a perfect meal to eat after workout. Sorry Wahoo's, I have forgotten about you for such a long time! I am so glad that I rekindled my love for you today! With the great service, great food and clean dining room, I was enlightened to say the least.

When it was time to pay, I tried to use a CAVA gift card I had loaded in the app with around $60 on it. The app was confusing, so I asked the cashier for help and she called the manager. The manager, Destiny, came over and said she didn't know how the app worked, even though she said people ask her about it all the time. Instead of trying to help, asking another team member, or even attempting to figure it out, she immediately told me to contact CAVA customer support. This was during a lunch rush while I was standing at the register trying to pay. It felt dismissive, like it just wasn't her problem. We stepped aside to figure it out, but the service in this location is really spotty, which made loading the app even harder. That seems like a big issue for a place that pushes app ordering and payment. To keep things moving, I placed an online order and showed the receipt so they wouldn't have to remake the food. Even then, there was hesitation and an attitude that made it feel like I did something wrong, even though I was just trying to pay. The whole interaction felt passive and unwelcoming. We didn't feel like important customers at all. Really disappointing experience from a place I usually enjoy.
