Wow, what coastal gem! On a father-son road trip up the coast we went a little late in the evening and needed a bit of dinner before turning in. This is important because you MUST arrive and order before 8:00 PM! We arrived at 8:01 and there was a debate over whether we could eat (we even had someone call ahead); in the end they offered to make us burgers and fries. From there, everything was great! Doting service, charming atmosphere, live music and great burgers and fries. The rest of the menu looked mouthwateringly delicious and made us wish we could come back! Several of our fellow guests at the old hippie commune at Howard's Creek had dinner here and attested to the great food!

The inside of the pub is decorated beautifully. It keeps some of the old like the vintage ceiling and lights, and some of the new.

Our Air BNB hosts recommended the Abalone pub to us. It did not disappoint. I ordered a house made pasta. Linguini that was really light. It came smothered in a cream sauce that was delicious. Locally sourced veggies that were cooked to perfection and topped with chicken. The dish was fantastic. My wife had a locally sourced organic salad with goat cheese, peaches, prosciutto, mixed greens, pepitas and a vinergerette dressing that she loved. For desert we had a delicious cheese cake and some Ice cream. They have a good selection of beers and drinks. The menu has a good selection of different options. The chef here seems to be knocking it out of the park. The two ladies working the bar and serving tables were so very friendly, helpful and had a great sense of humor. Definitely recommend stopping for dinner if you go through Westport.

One and only restaurant in WestPort CA . Great Place for Coffee , Lunch and Dinner. Great Service , you are greeted well and service is superb. It is on the expensive side. This is the only Restaurant on the Westport CA . No other choice. :-)

It was a little early for dinner (4:30ish) and aside from two women sitting together, we had the place to ourselves. The vibe is cool. Hardwood floors, huge vintage bar, nice lighting. We were greeted nicely by a server who said we could sit anywhere. He brought us menus and took my husbands drink order, a Manhattan. I hadn't really decided what I wanted yet so I asked for a few minutes. Once the server returned to the bar, he asked me to come let him know what I'd decided to drink because walking around to the tables was "hard". I politely shouted to him over at the bar that I'd like a glass of white wine. He brought my husband's manhattan and spilled nearly half of it on the floor and on our table. No apology or offer to wipe it up, just used his apron to dry his own hands. I asked what a particular sauce was on their steak dish to which he replied, "you know, I'm not even sure". Since he didn't offer to find out, I googled it instead. My husband decided on their fried chicken sandwich and I went with the smash burger. The food was really great. My husband said his chicken sandwich was one of the best he's had. Perfectly fried and seasoned batter, good level of spice. My burger was cooked just like a smash burger should be and the fries were delicious. Despite the strange service (though there was another older lady who was very sweet), we liked the vibe of the place and really thought the food was noteworthy.

Our group actually filled up all the rooms, which made it feel even more enjoyable. The hospitality is top notch - especially Katie, who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable in every way! My husband and I stayed in their Rose Room and it was the perfect place to unwind after a full day of festivities. The oceanfront balcony connects to the next room (where my parents stayed hahaha) and we loved being able to stargaze at night and watch the sunrise in the mornings. One of the highlights - freshly baked scones and coffee delivered to our door each morning. I've never had a proper scone until this weekend.... they were perfectly crispy on the outside, flavorful and not too dense. Breakfast in the parlor was another treat - always beautifully prepared, delicious, and such a lovely way to start each day with family. We also appreciated how they had an EV charger, which saved us multiple trips into the next town (20-30 minutes away). We even went for a morning run along the coast and the views at sunrise were unbeatable. + the in-house dry sauna was SUCH a treat. Overall, this was such a special stay. We truly felt like we were on vacation ourselves and can't wait to come back someday soon!

I loved that in the morning they will bring a pot of coffee and a selection of pastries to enjoy in bed, or on the balcony. You then later have a full breakfast served to you down in their beautiful lobby. This service really helped my husband and I slow down and enjoy the day. Their pub is also absolutely gorgeous! It is truly something to see, if only for a quick drink. The food is fantastic! I was also lucky enough to get married in Westport. We used the hotel to house my family. They were so accommodating. We had the rehearsal dinner at the Hotel as well. They were an absolutely pleasure to work with. They went out of their way to ensure the flowers, menu, and overall feel would match the wedding. There was not a single detail overlooked. I cannot say enough great things about this place.
