Came here on a Friday night while staying in town for the weekend - great local small brewery. Doesn't serve food, but was able to bring some in from the burger joint down the block (see that review separately - Huck's). Large space, decent variety of beer on draft - I had the hazy ipa and wheat beer, enjoyed both. Fair prices and I appreciated that they serve 20oz pours. Fast and friendly bar service. They had a band playing the evening I visited -- band wasn't good, but it livened up the atmosphere. Definitely worth a stop over here in lieu of the big chain brewery. read more

Very welcoming environment with a solid selection of beer, ciders & seltzers. My husband and I were visiting Fort Bragg and were looking for a place to chill and found our way into tall guy brewing. It's a really nice ambiance. Dogs are welcomed. It appeals to all ages. They offer a selection of a board games, darts, foosball table, TV & lots of seating. They even have an option to order from a local slider place, and they'll bring the food over to you which we thought was convenient. The sliders were really good as well. read more

We had just finished our Skunk Train experience and wanted to check out the Farmers Market afterwards which takes place on Wednesday afternoons. It was an hour before the market kicked off, so we decided to have a drink at Tall Guy which is right across the street. The atmosphere here inside is very friendly with positive vibes. And it's very spacious and spread out. There's also board games available (both family and adult-oriented) to use to kill time. I can't remember which game it was we played, but we both had a nice laugh while enjoying our Mojitos. Mine was a Cucumber Lime and hers was a Peach Ring. It was my first every Mojito and very refreshing. Next time I'm in town I'll have to try a couple of their on-tap beers. read more

We've been a couple of times but the recent visit was the best for 3 main reasons: (1) As a wheelchair user I was delighted to find an accessible bathroom; (2) it was relatively quiet and not packed; and (3) no issues about bringing food in. They have definitely filled a void as it seems to be one of the few affordable gathering spots. Improvements could be having the "pop-up" kitchens arrive earlier and start on time and having better snacks to purchase. read more

Music and space was good for music. The beer and tude were less awesome. Not bad but definitely not worth a trip.

We loved this brewery. Love that it was at the corner with big windows so you could see the people walking outside and there was lots of natural light. The bartender was super nice and we asked him to recommend four beers for a flight, and he obliged. The flavors were super fun and we had a good time just chilling and people watching. Sweet spot. They play music by vinyl on an actual record player. Several choices of beer in multiple sizes. Staff were friendly. They only offer a few pub food choices like pretzels and such but you can bring in outside food while drinking. They have tons of games to play for the adults and kids. They also have live music. We went here with 4 families and we all have multiple children. I was a little worried at first because it's all inside, but they have a huge area with all sorts of games that the kids can play with. They're probably better for kids 6+ but our younger kids still enjoyed them. They have a lot of beer options and some wine by the half bottle. They had sliders and pozole as the food option for the night. The food was good but the sliders were $8 each which felt like a lot. The live music was amazing and our kids loved being able to dance around. It's definitely a family friendly place although there were not a ton of people with kids when we were there on the Saturday night of Labor Day. Would absolutely go back next time we are in Fort Bragg! read more

My wife and I stopped to check out this new brewery in Ft. Bragg, while staying in Mendocino. I'm glad we did. They have a nice selection of interesting original beers. They also offer food from local bakeries and restaurants. We didn't eat. But saw some tasty looking hot baked pretzels go by! The service was friendly and helpful. The space is very large with lots of big windows out to the street. They have a lot of seating, including two very nice couches. Although there are a lot of seats the space is not crowded at all. I have to say to give a really good review I should have tried more things or should go again, but the experience was overall pleasant. We got a flight of IPA's to sample. And honestly after tasting them I felt like they tasted a lot like craft IPAs. Which is a good thing. I can't say that they stood out, but really there is so much good craft beer out there these days. And that's not to say that they were all similar - in fact they were all quite different than each other - so we'll give them a thumbs up for variety. We were in town for the Christmas parade and decided to walk around town Friday night. We had no idea it was a first Friday event. We walked around and did some shopping. Even ran into old friends at KMEC. After all that we decided to have a beer at Tall Guy. What a fantastic spot to hang out. Everybody was in the holiday spirit. We both grabbed a Dad's milk stout and found a spot to sit at. It was nice to see all the locals enjoying each other's company. The beer was exceptional and I may or may not have had another. Before long a band from Point Arena began to warm up. The Slackers were friggin awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed their songs, and especially liked the flute and saxophone. I had a pretzel with another beer while watching kids from a local playhouse jam around the place and dance their little butts off. What a fantastic atmosphere. The bartenders were very polite and knowledgeable about the beer selection even though I pretty much knew I was going with a stout. What a great spot! Went in for a beer and they had such a remarkable band- Bryn and the blue souls! Such a cool vibe in this large, comfortable, cool venue with great beer and really nice people. And the dogs so many people brought their dogs and they were all so well mannered. Seriously if you're in town check if there's live music and treat yourself. They have helped the Franklin Street revitalization by remaking our famous Sears building into something truly warm, fun and filled with great beers. I went for an impromptu meeting to talk about outside help for a work project and ended up meeting other friends. It is in a good spot for tourist foot traffic and is well frequented by locals. The best part for me is the great windows where you can people watch who look back longingly wishing they too could be inside. read more

They're new. Give them time.Impressed by the space. Not the beer. The pale ale was OFF. I don't know what went wrong but it was a struggle to finish the pint. Must Be Helles was okay. Hot dogs (bratwurst) were pricey. 10 bucks but they arrived lightening fast. Thank God they had a mustard selection and didn't make me settle for just the children's yellow mustard crap. They put a super thin and crispy bagel coating around them..... you have to wait until the temperature drops until they're hold-able but they're good. If you're a beer enthusiast wait for them to work on their short beer list and come in to their own. We were one and done but hoping for improvement. Update The frontside was decent, the backside/finish had an odd taste, almost like a semi burnt flavor. In addition it was a little under carbonated. read more

Made our yearly trip from Los Angeles and were pleasantly surprised to see a new brewery in town. They had only been open about a week when we stopped by. I love Belgium and light, crisp beer. Their Wit is definitely one of my top favorites, and I've been to over 100 breweries. If you're in town, this is a must stop spot! Grab a flight and try them all! The location has a lot of space and is really nice. Bathrooms are clean. They allow outside food but do sell pretzels, pigs in a blanket, and chips. Did not try but looked good! The service was friendly and allowed you to get spashes to try the beer, which is always a plus when going to a new brewery. They also have seltzer for non-beer drinkers. read more
