Oishii has all the pieces, nice vibe, impeccable service, and above all, a comprehensive menu that delivers Chef Ting is at the helm; this is more than a sushi joint. Sure, all the standards are available, but I go for the items we don't see often. There is more cooked food than one would expect. Order the wagyu sliders, and you will be happy. Torched salmon, squid ink noodles, and lobster dumplings are nice. Torched tuna maki with bonito flake, OMG. Desert is not something I consider at an Asian restaurant; it is transcended here with cake and delicious custom frozen desserts. I like my restaurants with a full bar, and that box is checked, too.

Wow. This place blew our expectations, and some sushi I had never tried before. Highly recommend The Maki, which has truffle on it and would never expect that to be one of the better rolls I've had in a while. Also, can never go wrong with salmon, and For The Love of Salmon was another popular one recommended. I also have to give a shoutout to our waiter Peter. He was super nice, gave great recommendations, and was very attentive. Highly recommend here whether it's for lunch, dinner, date night, or a large party. They are able to accommodate all.

Love coming back here. Tonight was an utmost special dinner as we were celebrating my amazing lady's birthday! Cheers to you Lizzie! Happy bday! We decided to come back to where it first started! Every occasion we celebrate here, our dishes are brought out right on time as we finish the last bites of the previous dish. Each dish has always been well prepared, fish always fresh, flavor profiles have depth and we have our favorites!. Flaming salmon always graces our table first, i wish it came with 6 pcs haha but about 30seconds for us is the good touch of fire before you grab, dip into the sauce that accompanies the salmon (vinegar based it seems like) and slurp. Melts. We decided today to also get the hamachi jalepeno (crispy fried jalepeno), take the fish drop some peppers on it, scoop it up and dab into the sauce on the plate and enjoy! In between dishes we used the edamame puree to cleanse our palates. We decided on 3 maki's which is about the perfect fill for us. The truffle toro, love for salmon, and crispy mango! Our favorite is the truffle toro / hamachi. It's buttery and just tastes so good. I wanted to make sure the birthday girl tried the black squid ink pasta with bits of squid mixed in. It's a savory dish, the ink doesn't stain your teeth long. We also always get the buttery flaking crispy goodness that is, Chilean seabass! And of course instead of going overboard with deserts like the last time, we got the coconut sphere, yuzu, black raspberries, raspberries and caramel cream. Always a good ending to a great evening. Will be back again.

We celebrated my graduation at Oishii Boston, and it was nothing short of unforgettable. Fittingly, "Oishii" means "tasty" in Japanese and the name couldn't be more accurate. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the beautiful, modern interior- a blend of upscale elegance and beautiful Japanese aesthetics. The ambiance was perfect for a special occasion. The fish was incredibly fresh, each bite practically melting in our mouths. We sampled a variety of sushi and sashimi, all artfully presented and bursting with flavor. The Toro tartare and signature Oishii rolls were standouts, layered with flavor and texture. Even the simpler dishes were executed with precision. clean, balanced, and undeniably oishii. The dessert was great, save some room because the portions are family style! What really elevated the experience was the exceptional service. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive without being intrusive, and made fantastic recommendations that enhanced our meal. They even surprised us with a celebratory dessert to honor the graduation, a thoughtful touch that made the night even more special. If you're looking to celebrate a milestone or just want to indulge in high-quality Japanese cuisine, Oishii Boston delivers on every level. It's a place where the food, service, and setting come together for a truly memorable dining experience. Highly recommend making a reservation this gem is well worth planning ahead for or during the week just give them a call!

One of the most loveliest experiences! Truly a divine and relaxing place to go for some sushi and japanese entrees that were absolutely delicious. Their wagyu tartar was definitely the star of the show. The peppers on top matched perfectly with the beef melting on your tongue. If you like a kick of spice, this is the one for you!! The sushi was very high quality and we adored the appetizers very much. Our waitress was lovely and everything was very quick. A beautiful restaurant in Boston and a must visit. Definitely would get the salmon on fire for a cool little show!

Ambiance: wonderful evening calming mood lighting with multiple areas to select seating. Food: unparalleled gunkan and classic spicy tuna roll! The inari sushi was subtly sweet. All sushi was perfectly assembled. Service: our server Peter was wonderful. Probably the highlight of the evening. Described all details of Japanese cuisine well, and recommended multiple dishes and sake. Very attentive to detail and patient.

Very clean and friendly staff, mean whiskey drink and fish was very fresh. The most impressive soft shell crab roll I've had in Boston.

Normally I don't like to do too much for my birthday, but my sweet Christopher is AMAZING and the BESTEST! He took me here for an early birthday dinner & Oishii's is always a great time. Tonight, we got the hamachi appetizer & salmon on fire, 3 maki rolls (toro truffle, for the love of salmon, & crunch mango), two entrees (chilean sea bass & squid ink noodles), & of course, had to end our meal with the lovely coconut sphere (my favorite!). We were not the biggest fan of asparagus or cucumber rolls last time we were here so we decided to skip out on those rolls. Everything tasted absolutely delicious per usual & cannot recommend Oishii's enough for sushi! Their menu is a bit on the pricey side BUT very generous portions and not skimpy like other high end restaurants. Dark ambiance here. Don't be shy to use flash for pictures hahaha. The toro truffle is a MUST, as well as the coconut sphere. 10/10 ;)

Great food and amazing quality of fish! Our server was great, recommending popular items and her personal favorite which made reviewing the menu a lot easier. Ordered the chef sashimi plate ($100) and the hamachi tango ($30), both very delicious! Hinted also that we love toro, since the chef sashimi plate is a complete surprise, and was wow'd with toro on the plate. Highly recommend if looking for quality sushi and willing to pay, since is quite pricey.

Had an absolutely wonderful dining experience. My family enjoyed the 6 course Omakase. The dishes were delicious and the plating and presentation was excellent. The desserts were like pieces of art. The service was fantastic! Thank you Chef Ting, Chef Kevin and Jackie!!

After a quick Yelp search, you find yourself looking at Neptune Oyster reviews. We ended up going from Fenway Park to Neptune Oyster by taking the train. When we arrived, we saw there was a substantial line. We ended up waiting about 1 hour and 20 minutes. They make you stand in line outside the restaurant and have signs that say, "Please don't block the other business entrances" and "Please stand behind this sign." Meanwhile, I'm thinking this is 2026 and Yelp must have some sort of online or phone number check-in system where they could text you once your table is ready. But I think, selfishly enough, the restaurant does this so other people walking by notice the line, and it acts as good advertisement for them. Anyhow, we decided to try the lobster roll with fries, six oysters, the bluefin tuna crudo, and their "clam chowder." Yes, I put "clam chowder" in quotes because it was more of a soup than a traditional chowder. I could have gotten past the texture, but it had no flavor and, unfortunately, we had to send it back, which I don't think I've ever done at a restaurant before. The oysters and tuna were pretty good, and I enjoyed them. The lobster roll was also decent, but nothing that I would rave about. Maybe that's my fault because, again, they are not a lobster roll restaurant. It says it right in their name that they're an oyster restaurant, so partially my fault. I was guided by Yelp when I searched for lobster rolls and thought maybe they were known for them due to all the pictures posted on their Yelp page. Overall, I think it's a little overrated and not worth the wait and the $130 bill.

The combination of it being limited seating (it holds less than 20 people) and being a popular spot makes it quite hard to get in without a long wait, so I would recommend right when it opens. Food wise, we got the Squid Ink Pasta and Calamari. The calamari was the perfect combination of crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside, which I find a lot of restaurants don't do a great job of doing. The squid ink pasta was also delicious and on par with any quality Italian restaurants in NYC. I would come back again if I'm ever in the Boston area and want a nice Italian restaurant. The lobster was well cooked. Ravioli was in a delicious sauce and had chunks of lobster on top which was a pleasant surprise. More food than I expected, but my home city is famous for the price of eating out so maybe my perception is skewed. Burrata and asparagus appetizer was simple and good as well. The asparagus was firm but not stringy and wasn't the star of the show, but paired well with the burrata, tangy cured tomato, and spread. For drinks we had the mango margarita and a first light. The margarita was a bit strong for my taste but better as the ice melted. First light was yummy. Nothing memorable for the price range. Bread was nothing to write home about, but warm and a good vehicle for tasty butter. Service was attentive without being overbearing. We had a very polite, thoughtful waiter. After one visit, it became very clear why this place has remained a waterfront institution since 1925. Don't let the long line scare you away -- that line is part of the proof that you are in the right place. James Hook has a classic no-frills New England seafood atmosphere focused on one thing above all else: exceptionally fresh lobster. There's plenty of outdoor seating available, and on a beautiful afternoon with temperatures in the low 80s, sitting outside under the umbrellas overlooking the city made for a perfect lunch setting. We split a large lobster roll since we had eaten a big breakfast earlier in the day, and it was more than enough for two people looking for a lighter meal. The lobster itself was incredibly fresh, sweet, tender, and generously portioned on a perfectly toasted split-top roll with drawn butter served on the side. Simple ingredients executed correctly -- exactly what a proper Boston lobster roll should be. We also tried the stuffed clam, which had a rich, savory stuffing with plenty of flavor and paired perfectly with a squeeze of fresh lemon. There's nothing overly polished or tourist-trapped about James Hook & Co. This is simply authentic Boston seafood done right.
