Where is Peter? I use to go to Peter at Oildale Nails but he's no longer working there. The other guy is rough and weakened my nails by filing all of my natural nails during a gel only color change. It took me several months to grow my nails out again because they kept breaking due to being filed too much. I'd like to know what shop Peter is working at! Oildale nails will not give out any info. Out of the 12 times that I have been taken care of at Oildale Nails, I have only been dissatisfied one time. I say that's a pretty darn good record! Most of the time I have Tammy do my nails. She is an artist! She and her husband run the store and are very gracious. I have gone to other places in the past and I feel that for the service that I have received, the price is very good. I have been going here (without any problems) for a couple years, but they recently hired new staff and put in another TV. The staff were very friendly during my visit yesterday. I was offered bottled water or hot tea and given a business card that guarantees no chips in GEL nails for 7 days, or they will fix free of charge. They also gave me a small gift wrapped bag with a pumice bar and lotion on my way out, as a way to say Thank you during the holiday season. It hasn't been 7 days, so I can't make a statement on the quality of the polish, but the gentleman who worked on mine took his time and was very meticulous. They look great. Ok... this review is for the brand new owners. They totally over charged and did a bad bad job that needed two woman to do it cause the first woman had no clue what she was doing and the other woman Tammy does good shape but coloring was awful and had glue and polish all over fingers plus took 2.5 hours to do. She was sooooo nice but I paid 45 dollars for these nails and was suppose to get ombré nails and it was AWFUL. I HATE leaving a bad review and is first one I've left but it was bad bad bad. I've been to this shop a few times. I guess I keep going back because it's conveniently located for me. But I'm done. They ask you to choose which Pedi you want ($20, $30, $40 or $50). I always choose the basic $20 and the past 2 times they charged me $24 plus tip. The same man does my pedi, not because I request him but because he's always available. He digs and draws blood. He's kind but unskilled. The finished product is good and the polish lasts for 2 to 3 weeks, but the process is very unpleasant. I'm not going back. read more

Worst place to ever get your eyebrows waxed. They only know one shape, THIN. The last time I got my eyebrows done must have been 6 months ago and I'm STILL trying to grow them out again. I told her just a nice clean up. She took off more than half of my eyebrow. Same thing happened to my boyfriend at this place. He has huge bushy eyebrows and wanted to keep them still looking manly, just cleaning up his unibrow and the tops. She left him with tiny, girly shaped eyebrows. Not to mention how sloppy they are. Take a look at their wax heater. Not sanitary whatsoever. Plus they recently got new pedicure chairs and think they're the sh** so prices went up like $6 each. I've been to this salon three times and twice my gel color nails we're amazing but the last visit I had a very bad experience with this guy named Casey. I requested chrome nails I stayed there three and a half he's. And he just couldn't do it the correct way, he burned my skin I'm done with place. I had to come back next day for someone else to fix them I'm not going back plus it's very dirty they don't put towels or clean the equipment. Never again I'm coming back horrible job read more

I come here not only because it's close to my house but because I can get my nails done in relative peace. I hate trying to hold a conversation with my manicurist and these people generally leave me alone. I see most of the reviews complaining about that fact but it's perfect for socially awkward people like me. The prices are very affordable and while it's not the BEST manicure I've ever had it's certainly not the worst. I take great care of my acrylics and I've had the same set on for over a month. It's quality work. Better than I've gotten in the more "upscale" salons and with none of that stuck up attitude those places seem to have. read more

Would not ever go back again!!! They had horrible service! Mother, maid of honor, and I went in to get our nails done for my wedding this weekend. Woman had a crappy attitude to my mother when asking a question. Two men did mine and my maid of honors nails. I had a fill and she did a new set. The man who did a new set on my moh put pink on the nail which she didn't want. She asked him to get clear like mine because they need to look more natural. He said no it looks better with pink and she insisted on changing it but he was denying to do it because he can't, it looks better. I came in with a fill with one nail off and he purposely losses two of my nails to replace them so he can charge me more. I went here on Saturday 18th of 2012. I was seen by David, My acrylic did not cover all of my tip, and my gel finish did not set under the UV lights long enough so less then 12 hours later it was bubbling and pealing off. When I went back on Sunday, I had the wost experience, Come to find out my nails are not the only nails he messed on. There was a poor high school girl there who got her nails done for the first week of school and they were thick and wavy and some were flat. I had a pedicure done here 3 months ago. I went based on a friends recommendation, but it was horrible! They are very expensive and confusing when they quote their pricing. In fact the price changed from the time I started to the time I paid. So I ended up paying $40 for a gel manicure! Way more then I ever have and to top it off, I've had an ingrown toenail since. I've never had an ingrown toenail but I know she was frustrated with that particular toe when cutting it. But of course, she wouldn't tell me that...so now I suffer with this annoying problem that will probably require a podiatrist to fix. NEVER GOING BACK HERE!!! read more

I always ask them to be gentle with my hands but still they push their nails into the edges of my cuticles, or worse, use the rotary file on them which sometimes makes them bleed.
