Treated myself to a Pearl Gel Pedicure and I have no regrets. I have had many pedicures from this place and it never disappoints. Obviously the higher priced package you pick the higher quality products they use, however you will not be disappointed by even their lowest service. Appointments are encouraged because it can get very busy. This place is popular for a reason, they know how to do quality work at an affordable price. While there i see people coming in for manicures, nail sets, pedicures and waxing. Ive seen couples come in for pedicures together, grandma's bringing in their grandkids, and so many others from every walk of life coming in and being treated with the same level of care and respect as everyone. I honestly sat on this review but it's only fair that if I show the good, I need to show the bad too. I can look past the nail polish stains, I can look past the location, I can even look past the bums outside. But at the beginning I was sat in a dirty chair, not just something sticky or something dusty... it was left over body oil and exfoliating sea salt scrub from the last person who had a pedicure. Like the sea salt scrub that exfoliates the dead skin off? Yeah, that was left on the chair so I got it on my hands and legs. I asked for an alcohol wipe for my hands because that's disgusting and they handed me a paper towel that was damp with water. So instead I proceeded to get up to wash my hands with soap and water as they cleaned off the chair. Then came the pedicure, it was a pretty average pedicure, besides a cut on my big toe where she took a chunk of skin instead of cuticle. And for the finale she chooses to rinse off stuff in the bowl in front of me and manages to soak my shoes. How is that even possible? I couldn't tell you. I can't say enough positive things about Oildale nails and in particular my girl Tammy! She's SO AMAZING! I recently started doing my nails every 2 to 3 weeks and she gets my vision down pat every single time! I mean, the pictures speak for themselves- as do the tons of compliments I receive every time she does my nails! The pricing can't be beat and the atmosphere and cleanliness is top notch. Came here since my usual place was closed and was completely disappointed!!! The guy doing my pedicure here was so rough and didn't even bother to take his time. He literally took 20 mins to do everything( yes I timed it).For reference he has a piercing on his right ear and is younger than the other 2-3 gentleman that were there. He was rushing everything and being super rough while cutting my cuticles and just the way he would move my feet around.he also left the paint so ugly and left bubbles. I have a shorter nail that is growing back since I had previously lost my nail due to an injury and he hurt it so bad ! I asked for straight squared nails and he didn't leave them squared at all. Overall very disappointed with the service and the work , will not come back. They also stare A LOT. I get you glance here And there but they were just hard on staring that makes you feel uncomfortable. They also are NOT very clean with tools, the guy literally rinsed the tools he used for me in the same water my feet were in and wiped it off and put it back in his cart. UPDATE: my sister got an infection from this place aswell ! She was having pain on her nails after and liquid was coming out of her two big toe nails. This is not a bad place to go to have your nails done. It's also not my top pick. The first time I went I was impressed! The second time, I loved my full set, but left very disappointed in my pedicure. The last time I went to Oildale Nails, I wasn't all that happy with the set, as it had been rushed by the technician that did them. This was the WORST eyebrow experience I've ever had! She was SO rough I literally told her in the middle of it "You're really rough" she said sorry and still nothing changed. I almost cried from reaction to it. She got whatever it is that they put on after the wax in the corner of my eye. Like really? Had to ask for tissues to get it out. She left wax on both sides of my face it feels like sap. And then I look in the mirror and they're so thin. My eyebrows are naturally big I didn't even know they could get that thin. DO NOT GO HERE. I should start this by saying: I am not the ideal nail client. Weird and crooked nail beds, sensitive cuticles, and really picky about what I like. I had been wanting to get my nails done for quite some time, but had struggled in finding a nail salon that I felt I could trust with my hands. Most places I had gone to in the past have overcharged for shotty work, and I wasn't interested in that. I had gone to a local competitor, a highly popular shop in the downtown area that specializes in trendy nails (I wont say who), and walked out as soon as I walked in. Completely uninviting atmosphere, no one said hello. I sat in the waiting room for ten minutes while they talked amongst themselves without acknowledging me. So I got back on yelp and chose somewhere a little closer to home. This place is amazing? Everyone is super nice and do everything to make sure you are getting exactly what you want. I was greeted and seated immediately. I couldn't stop smiling the entire time my gal was working on my fingers. I showed her a picture of what I was looking for, and she copied it exactly, for a fraction of the price of some of these other shops. I will be returning for sure!! The only thing I noticed later on in the day was that the powder she used was applied a bit thinner on one of my pinkies, but its not noticeable until you really stare at it, and its not an issue enough for me to lower my rating. Oildale nails is near where I live and shop but I can't understand why I haven't been here sooner?! It's in a convenient shopping center that houses lots of chain businesses and a local restaurant. It is nothing fancy. Know that and don't expect that. If you're looking for a place to go for a quick wax or a pedicure. This is a nice place for that type of service. My daughter and I came here for our weekly pedi date and really enjoyed it here. The employees were super friendly, nice and happy to see my daughter in there. As a mother that made me so relieved and happy. At many of these type places that I've frequented, I have gotten mean looks, eye rolls at places before because I choose to bring my daughter. Not at Oildale Nails!! They treated her like a paying customer that she was and not some heathen. She's a well behaved kid which is why I take her out for mommy and me pedi dates. We both enjoyed our pedis. The lady employee made us feel comfortable and helped us pick out a super pretty polish. We are happy with our paws. I might stop in soon for a mani. PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE COMING HERE (I say he a lot because I don't know the workers name, I usually get this one girl who does a great job) I used to love coming here and I never had problems with them until today. I came in asking how much they would charge for marble design and almond nails which was 45. So I stayed expecting it to go well. When he started doing my nails I noticed how he didn't even push the cuticles back or anything and just filed the nail. He didn't take his time to do the nails and rushed them through. As I noticed one of my nails seem angled and slanted I ask if he could fix them. He seemed offended that I asked and kept telling me "This is what almond nails are supposed to look like" and "they're fine" I kept asking him nicely to fix them until he got fed up and gave me the nail filer to do them myself. I was caught off guard and got angry that he was giving me attitude which I didn't understand since I'm paying him to do the service. He kept asking asking me if I liked the nails and I said yes just to leave. As he noticed that I didn't like them he would laugh and shake his head making me more mad. P.s I don't mean to sound like a Karen but it was a horrible experience. I don't go here for my nails I only go here for my eyebrows. Nancy does them. She is quick and nice. My brows are done pretty well. They are $9 if you pay cash and $10 if you use card. I noticed she doesn't completely wax the middle of your eyebrows which is odd but that's I fine I can pluck that when I get home. She does a nice little massage at the end of the wax. read more
