Visiting Amarillo for work and saw that OHMS was walking distance from my hotel so I decided to check it out. The restaurant has a simple and short menu, I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and try their Elk Tenderloin w/ Mushroom Risotto. I was a little cautious initially as I thought the meat would be too gamey for my liking but the waitress assured me that the meat would be mild and not overwhelming. I ordered it medium rare and was surprised by how delicious and firm the meat was. With Amarillo being the nation's beef capital, I fell in love with an Elk Tenderloin instead. Don't get me wrong, I love a good steak but the Elk opened my eyes to an entirely new world of flavor. I'm looking forward to my next meal at OHMS.

We live in DFW but this is our favorite restaurant of all! The elk, steak and fried chicken are all to die for. We visit anytime we're in town and recommend it to anyone in or going through Amarillo. The service is always top notch also with their Amarillo kindness but unpretentious demeanor! Highly recommend!!!

Probably the best meal that we've had in three years! The service was great too. And the place is so cool

After many good reviews, I walked away from Ohms hungry, drunk, and $130 poorer for 2 people. Ribeye Steak was way overcooked, and wife's chicken was dry and cold. Appetizer was decent not worth it though. The service was good and the location is very nice. Would not recommend.

Well darn, now I'll never get to try other restaurants in Amarillo. Amazing service, amazing food. Started with their chicharrones - amazing jalapeño jam for dipping. They had a tomato cocktail that was made with gin, aperol, Montenegro, tomato shrub, and bitters - such a well balanced cocktail. Their blue cheese dressing is some of the best I've had. And then to finish it all - their pork chop with green chile Mac & cheese was delightful! Can't wait to go back and explore more of their menu. Make sure to make reservations - this place was packed! As it should be!

Perfect example why I use Yelp for everything, Ohms cafe and bar. Dropped in for dinner and sat at the bar. I was alone and not drinking so I ordered a Topo with lime. Cold and crisp! I really wanted to try the elf tenderloin after reading the reviews, but unfortunately they were out. For my entree I ordered the surf and turf. The options for seafood were shrimp or sea bass cheek and I went with the cheek. I subbed my starch for extra veggies. Food wasn't bad, minus the fish being over cooked and dry. Bass ended up being rubbery.. but I ate it anyway. Service was okay. Based off conversations I heard, sounds like there's a lot of regulars at Ohms. I would come back to give it another shot (and try the tenderloin).

I had several friends tell me to check this place out. We went during the week just before 7pm and was seated promptly. The appetizers were good but wasn't to happy with the Old Fashion cocktail. Overall the service was great! I will say it gets loud in the dinning area, so if your looking for something romantic this isn't the spot, but if you want to tune out your significant other this would be the place.

Thankfully, they close on Sunday, allowing us to find this wonderful little gem Girasol Café and Bakery. We had sandwiches on this stop, I had the ham and cheese on a Japanese roll, called the aloha, and my wife had the turkey avocado with homemade chips. Both sandwiches were prepared to perfection. I highly recommend. We also procured several pastries, including an apricot empanada that is baked not fried. Slightly warm, with a cup of coffee it was over-the-top delicious. We took away a lemon square and a granola caramel bar (I forget what the name was) but it didn't make it home, again, unexpectedly delicious. The cinnamon roll was calling feverishly for me, but unfortunately, I didn't try at this time. But the next trip to Amarillo is sooner rather than later so we can make another trip to Girasol Café and Bakery. I can't end this review without mentioning how friendly and accommodating the staff are. We we interacted with at least three, and I can say I truly felt I was appreciated as a customer at this place. Each one of them demonstrated a genuine interest in us and the enjoyment of their preparations of our food. The place is small, but on nice days they can double in size with their outside patio

While we were able to eat quickly, the food was meh and the outdoor eating area smelled like sh*t so we relocated inside. I ordered biscuits and gravy with jalapeño bacon. I LOVED the jalapeño bacon. But neither the biscuits nor the gravy tasted good. The biscuits were more like crackers--hard rather than fluffy. And biscuits (plural) is a bit misleading because it's one biscuit sliced in half and soaked in gravy. Chick-Fil-A makes tastier biscuits. But we visited this place on a Sunday and, unfortunately, Chick-Fil-A was closed. It comes with eggs, but I didn't eat the eggs because they looked like the powdered variety instead of real, whole eggs. My husband wanted a croissant but was told it would take 30 minutes to bake. Maybe we're impatient, but that seemed unreasonable for a "bakery" that had been open for a few hours at that point. So he settled for the smothered burrito. He didn't like that concotion either. The passionfruit teas we ordered were small but good, but not good enough for a return visit. $35 wasted.

When I walked in, the place was absolutely packed with TTUHSC or TTU Vet Med students who were celebrating finishing their final classes for the year. It was quite busy with a large line in front of me, and since I was staying for a while, I was not in a rush. I ordered a lavender latte, and after waiting just over 15 minutes behind the gaggle of people who ordered before me, my hot beverage was ready. I really liked the cup they served it in. It had a cute mountain gradient with their logo on top. The coffee itself was pretty good. It was not anything groundbreaking, but I enjoyed it for what it was. Having to briefly hop on a call with my boss, I went out to their small outdoor patio and took the call. It was also a pretty decent spot for getting some work done. They serve a ton of different options, and it is probably a popular stop for people in the surrounding medical district to get a quick coffee boost. There were also plenty of people drinking beers and mimosas when I came in, celebrating their semester coming to a close at 9:30 in the morning, so good for them. You love a catch all spot. I always find it interesting how many medium sized cities have a localized coffee chain that is so deeply rooted in the community. In Round Rock, it is Lamppost. In Amarillo, it is Roasters. There are quite a few Roasters locations in Amarillo, but the true OG is located off Georgia Street. I got there around 8:30 in the morning and it was capital B busy. Every table except one was occupied and the drive thru was wrapping around the building. By the time I got inside, I only had a short wait before ordering. I ordered a simple vanilla latte with oat milk in a medium size, along with a pumpkin spice muffin. For how busy it was, I was expecting to wait a while, but they churned drinks out pretty quickly. The barista even signaled to me to come grab the drinks for my girlfriend and me because I did not believe they had been made that fast. The coffee itself was pretty good. It leans on the sweeter side and is more focused on flavor than being espresso forward. It is clear why this place is such a staple in Amarillo. I also really liked that they had coffee sleeves that looked like Christmas sweaters and flannels for the season. It was a cute touch. It is a cute space and feels pretty traditional. One random thing I noticed was the pictures of Ronald Reagan on the walls. I do not know the reason or if it is some sort of long running joke, but it exists, along with books about Reagan scattered around the shop. There is only one single use bathroom, so on a busy morning it can take a bit if you need to use it. Every day, Roasters offers a coffee of the day on drip. I went to another location later in the week and tried it there as well, and it was good too. I think Roasters is a great option for coffee in the area and proves why it has been a staple for Amarillo residents since the 1990s. Regardless of the Reaganomics for whatever reason, Roasters can trickle down some coffee. RIYL: coffee and pictures of Ronald Reagan
