Stumbled across this place by accident while walking around Fort Street and have come back 4x since! It is cash only, and because it is in Fort Street Mall you will have to find parking in China Town, but despite all of this (and living in Kailua) my partner and I will go out of our way to still come regularly because of the amazing food. You wouldn't think much from its looks, but the food has been consistently delicious, especially the donburi and chicken plate lunches. My favorite is their chicken katsu which I felt was especially delicious with thick pieces of meat and a very clean, not oily or over-fried, taste. Whats most impressive is the price of their dishes with plates as low as $10 each and their most expensive being $14. I personally would pay more for the quality of the food but their affordable prices also keep us coming back. And shoutout to the Japanese couple who seem to work and own it who are always working hard and are very friendly! We'll be back many more times I'm sure.

Mini Bbq chicken curry
Sade P.

Came here for lunch i was impressed and the food was served hot. I ordered a mini bbq chicken curry it comes with one scoop of white rice and a scoop of macaroni salad. A mini was $9.50 which I feel is pretty reasonable for a mini plate lunch right now. you also know a place is good when you see local braddahs in their business attire coming here. Overall very affordable and quick, keep in mind that it is cash only .

I went to Ft Street Mall to get some piroshkis from Rada's, but they were closed. I went by Ohana Dish and what caught my eye was that in addition to the chicken katsu, garlic chicken, etc. they offer oyakodonburi which I haven't had at a plate lunch place before. It was delicious. The only part I'm a little bummed about is that it's on Ft Street Mall which I seldom go to. At least I now have another eating place when I'm there.

Mini potato croquette

Fish very light breading. Although they probably buy it that way. Was good. Not over cooked maybe little under. Will hold tartar sauce next time.

I was planning on buying the shoyu chicken but ended up getting garlic chicken and it was great, next menu would be the shoyu chicken when I visit them again.

Loco moco no rice
Akemi O.

Worker is super sweet. But my Loco moco was a lil bland. I also got it without rice so looked really sad. Not a very big patty. My egg scrambled well done was good perfectly. Not a loco moco the way I eat it, but whatevs. They are kinda slow. 15-20 min for my lil guy. Little long for downtown work area. Suggest calling in an order. I'll try other things before I make my final judgment...but so far just so-so.

Pork ginger plate, regular

100% recommend the pork ginger! I've been craving pork shogayaki for days and so I'm lucky there's Ohana Dish on Fort St with a really good recipe for it. Theirs is similar to a chop steak, with onion, carrot, and pepper. Very tasty, perfect size for lunch. FYI! They are cash only. So their prices include tax ~

Mini Pork Ginger

Little hole in the wall place on Fort Street Mall across The Residences at Bishop Place. Cash only, but very tasty food. This mini is small, but just right for me and everything was Ono! Meat was tender, vegetables crisp, sauce just right, rice perfectly made and even Mac salad had no strange Mayo! I highly recommend!! If you want a bigger portion, don't buy the mini. But it's just perfect for me.

Mini shoyu pork

This is a cute place-- cheap and filling local food cooked by Japanese nationals. The interior is a bit stark, par the course for Fort Street Mall. Lots of sweet and salty flavors, and lots of carbs. I got the mini shoyu pork and the plain saimin. Both added up to maybe $10, a steal for downtown. The shoyu pork was juicy and fatty and falls apart poked by chopsticks. The mini was enough for a meal for me, and I felt stuffed after. I didn't realize just ordering saimin meant fried saimin but I wasn't disappointed. It was just like yakisoba but with less of a tonkatsu and more of a dashi taste. Lots of pieces of pork and crunchy bits of cabbage and onion. Again, a very hearty meal. If you want comfort food and aren't worried about falling asleep after your lunch break, solid spot.

Ahi belly, very small portion for 12$ large plate. Usually they give a larger portion, but it varies a lot.

My favorite is the Toriten chicken. Tempura battered chicken with ponzu dipping sauce. Get the regular size because it's soooooo Ono.

We had a 7pm reservation that I booked through Yelp. We arrived a few minutes before our time, and was quickly seated in a "cozy" little table for 2. This place is crackin' though. It's loud and energetic. Mostly because it's a small little place down a side street on Beach Walk. The staff is super friendly, and the food is even better. I had the pork and shrimp katsu set, and my husband had fancy pork katsu set. We also had edamame to start. Everything came out sizzling hot and to perfection. I should also mention, this place is clean. The staff was constantly cleaning tables and menus. I'm giving Ginza only 4 stars because no one ever came to refill our drinks. I know it's such a small thing, but I accidentally ate some of the spicy mustard that was buried on my plate under the salad. My mouth was ON FIRE! I drank all my Diet Coke and my husband had already finished his drink too. So ya, I was dying...lol! Overall though, I would 100% eat at Ginza again

Very random one morning after stopping by kona purveyors in Waikiki, I went to the restroom and while my husband was waiting for me he decided to randomly check if they had any reservations available and we were able to get one for the next day! Getting a reservation is definitely the way to go, I've seen people wait in standby however seating is not guaranteed since they prioritize those who have a reservation. The service was amazing! They are constantly checking up on you to see if you need anything else. I like how they offer different kinds of miso soup. I personally had limitations due to my shellfish allergy, but it was amazing! The katsu we ordered was one of the biggest one that they offer. It's crazy how big the katsu was and surprisingly it was super crispy, light, and even juicy in the inside! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to try katsu in hawaii!

Since we didn't get reservations we had to do walk in. The waitlist didn't seem bad when we first signed up but it took forever to finally get a table. It was a hot day so we were waiting outside, for nearly an hour. There were only like two or three parties ahead of us on the waitlist. We finally got seated and the people right after us on the list got seated at the same time (they put their name 15 min after us). I would not recommend the waitlist, since it's not consistent. The food itself is always delicious. The new space was nice (and larger). Our server was very nice also. We both got tonkatsu. I got the mizore and my partner got the sizzling one. I appreciate the choices of rice and miso soup. I really enjoyed my Shiso rice and the white miso soup. I think even though I enjoyed the ground daikon but I also think I would've been happy with just a regular tonkatsu, similar for the sizzling platter.

This place has been a staple for my family ever since we moved back to O'ahu a few years ago. Bottom line? The soba noodles here are utterly fantastic. They are, in my humble opinion, the best on the island, and some of the best soba noodles I've ever had. I don't think anywhere else in Honolulu comes close. You come here to eat soba. Period. In addition to the soba being phenomenal, the other offerings at i-naba are also similarly great. Their tempura in particular is outstanding. I typically order the Jumbo Shrimp Tempura Bowl & Soba or the Dx Tempura Bowl & Soba. Plus an upgrade to a large size soba! The tempura is sooo good. It's crispy, light, and airy. The jumbo shrimp is especially succulent and tender. And the ingredients are always perfectly seasoned with the sweet and savory house sauce. Yummmy!
