I got the ($13.50) sushi lunch special the first time I came, and it was fantastic. The colorful array of fish was extremely fresh and flavorful and the portion was on the large side. It came with miso soup, and everything was delivered with lightening speed, which I really appreciated as this was a lunch break meal. The restaurant is small, but usually a few people away from empty on weekdays at lunch. You'll experience understated ambiance with comforting casual vibes. Lunch today for the office came from Ogawa. We've ordered from here plenty of times and in fact it is our go to place for the sushi cravings. Not to mention they have killer lunch deals that will leave you not just full, but stuffed. For $8.65 you can get their Lunch Box which comes with a choice of 13 different items and a side of rice, miso soup, a side salad, 3 pieces of fried shumai and 4 pieces of california rolls. A careful look at the 13 choices and you realize you actually have 32 choices because option #13 is actually choose a sushi roll from a previous section that contains 20 different selections. If the Lunch Box is too much food for you, you can always downgrade to a Lunch Plate for $6.50 that comes with the same 32 choices and rice, 2 pieces gyoza, and a side salad. I usually go for the Lunch Box and choose either a Yellow Tail Roll, Spicy White Tuna Roll, Tuna Avocado Roll, Beef Negimaki, or Chicken Katsu. The rolls come out very fresh and never "fishy" tasting. They're never chewy which is good. I like the sauce on the Beef Negimaki. As far as the Chicken Katsu is concerned, it's good but not great. At times the chicken comes out a bit dry. I guess it depends on the chef for the day. A note for anybody that orders take out and has a coworker that orders tempura. The tempura sauce comes in a little container and is not soy sauce. I've poured this little container of sauce on my rolls numerous times thinking it was soy sauce and have received the glare of death more times that I can probably count on one hand. Take this knowledge and use it well. I'll remember it now but just watch me doing it again the next time we have sushi for lunch. I've yet to eat in at Ogawa although I'm not sure if I'd want to. The seating area is very small and with the tables and chairs put together, there really is only one tiny narrow path left for people to walk in and maneuver around. People almost seem to be sitting on top of each other. I think I much prefer to bring the food back to the office and enjoy it in the comfort of our cozy leather couch. read more

I find this place very charming. The staff is very nice and the sushi is cheap but very fresh and well made. The place is a bit on the small side, but if you go midday you won't have to deal with many people. Try to stick to dates or parties of no more than 4. I often order delivery from here as well and the first thing I noticed was that they package the food really well so that nothing gets smashed or leaks. Also very prompt delivery. This is a solid little sushi place that knows how to cut fish. It's well prepared, fresh and inexpensive. I order delivery from them often, and when we stopped in the other day after rejecting B Bar as a wedding location, the lunch specials filled the bill. Peter had the sashimi lunch for $10.95 which came with miso soup, and he also ordered a spicy scallop hand roll and an eel roll, both with cucumber instead of rice since he's a diabetic. They didn't bat an eyelash. I ordered the veggie/shrimp tempura lunch box ($7.25) which came with miso soup (excellent, by the way), 3 shrimp shumai (average), a salad (excellent), rice, and shrimp, yam, taro root, something I am forgetting, and onion (I asked for no broccoli). The shrimp were a hair greasy, but the rest of the vegetables were excellent. It was a ton of food. The place is really tiny. There was a father with a little kid, under a year old, with a stroller, at the first table when you come in, and you really couldn't get past him. My sister and girlfriend came over. We ended up getting the boxes to try some things. we had a salmon teriyaki, a chicken katsu and a chicken teriyaki. My sister also ordered an eel avocado roll. I don't think I've ever had such BAD japanese food. Everything was over cooked - dry and hard. And for the most part, tasteless. the eel avocado roll was good but I am not sure if it was actually good or if the rest of the food was SO bad that it made this "better". I would say that its just average but some of the other reviews here say that the sushi is good. in any event, I threw away the menu and will never eat here or order from here again. I thought about calling them to tell them how badly cooked everything was but it was SOOO far beyond help that it was pointless. If one dish was bad or if it was just a little over done because it was delivered, I could consider giving them another try, but you can't cook -- sorry, you can't OVER cook something THAT badly and fail to season everything and have any redeeming excuse. read more

I was looking for a simple lunch, having walked over from 5th, but didn't want a slice/dog/falafel or anything fancier/formal from the places I passed. This place appeared on a food-desolate block and did the trick. For $7.50 I got a nice bento box with salad, rice, potstickers and a decent piece of Teriyaki salmon and veggies. I don't get all the bad reviews. This place offers cheap sushi that is of good quality is a great go-to spot for sushi takeout. Yeah, you get what you pay for so it's not going to be phenomenal but the prices are really good as is the service. I've had delivery from here a couple of times. It is a good, solid sushi/roll meal. The lunch special is a good deal at $6.95 for 2 rolls, and 9.25 for three rolls. It comes with a miso soup or salad. A couple of nights ago, we ordered the sushi platter for 2 at 28.50, which was good! 3 of each for salmon, tuna, hamachi, and red snapper; 2 of each for unagi, mackerel, and cooked shrimp, and it also included a California roll and a tuna roll. Now that's a good deal if you ask me! The hamachi and mackerel were particularly good. It also came with two side salads. It was more than we could eat! Get lunch here 2-3 times a week and the sushi is always fresh and on-point. Their eel is really good (not fishy at all), the avocado is always perfect, and the miso is really, really tasty. The house salad (which I usually get at Japanese places) is skippable - the carrot ginger dressing is meh. Lunch special - 3 rolls + soup/salad for $10??? Amazing. Also, everything fried here is awesome. Their brown rice is awesome. The rolls wrapped in cucumber instead of rice are awesome. And the service? You guessed it, awesome.
