Wow have times changed. I didn't know that desktop computers were dead. I expected to find three or four of the latest and greatest but they had one lonely tower on the end for $600 with no description and no hookup. All I saw were laptops and I don't use laptops. I walked all the way in to the computer section looked around for a few, took a picture looked around for a few more thought maybe I would pick up some paper and walk straight out the door without even being greeted. Yes there were a few other people in the store but a store this big should have at least a greeter. Pretty much no reason to come here anymore unless I need a case of paper and that would take me literally 90 years to use. The usual high-priced ink cartridges but I don't blame them for that because there is a reason why they're expensive and that is because you get pigment-based colors that are waterproof instead of dye based ink which leaks hence the price difference. But they have plenty of those in stock. read more

I recently brought in a massive, thick book that I needed to have the spine cut off and hole-punched so I could transfer it into a binder. It was a huge job and not something most places would want to touch. From the moment I walked in, Max took full ownership of the project with a genuinely helpful and positive attitude. Not only did he carefully cut the spine perfectly, but when we discovered the store didn't have a punching machine capable of handling a book that thick, Max didn't hesitate. He manually did it with incredible patience and precision. It was a big, time-consuming task, but he stayed focused and made sure the end result was clean and usable. The book came out looking professional and exactly how I needed it. This happened in the Aurora Ave, Seattle store - no clue why Yelp shows Moclips. Their print times are frequently NOT same day and they falsify expectations to get people to enroll in their loyalty program. Case in point: I enrolled in their loyalty program after the store manager informed me printing orders entered by 10 am are always ready by 2 pm - which is ideal for my business (I'm a real estate broker). When I entered my first order online a few days later - a simple two-sided, no-fold one page flyer - the screen immediately indicated a 2 to 3 day turn around! I immediately called the office manager to see if this was common or a one-off. He said they'd been "swamped" (red flag), but deflected on frequency and said I would have to talk to the printer department but they were on break (second red flag). First I placed the order someplace else (got it a few hours later). Then I went by Office Depot to the printing department. When I asked how often printing took more than one day, the woman behind the counter indicated some types of orders are done in other locations and those always take days, but couldn't tell me how long. When I explained what I'd ordered online she said I'd fill out the form wrong as it should have shown one day turn-around (no, I didn't - I still have a copy of the attempted order) and that I didn't want a printing job, but a copying job. I don't have an original of the flyer, just a PDF of the design, but whatever it is called, the specs shown in my online order form were what I wanted....the words don't matter, the timing does. She began to play on the computer to try and duplicate my experience. While waiting I checked the store's reviews and saw they have a 2.5 on a scale of 5 based on slow printing. The manager was hovering by then and I asked him to review the reviews as this seemed to be a common problem - and he said he didn't have time.....while continuing to just stand there and watch. At that point I realized I was not a valued customer and he had either negligently or intentionally mislead into signing up for the loyalty program. I then asked for a refund of my $49 membership fee as I needed same day turn around as he had promised a few days before. He said that wasn't possible and just looked at me. Since then I have made a series of calls to various corporate offices of Office Depot and think a full refund is now in process. I hope it is. but if it isn't I'm taking formal action. This is not ok. NEVER use them for printing and I suggest steering away from their stores entirely. Why do business with people like this when there are businesses that work hard to meet commitments and never intentionally represent their services. read more

My wife came here today to print our wedding pictures; sadly customer service was not up to par. She asked for advices and was immediately turned away at the desk left to wait for 15-20 mins..no one came. She later asked a store manger the same question and gave her a grey answer. Went in person to the store after some confusion with ordering some sewing patterns online with the blueprint option. Brought in my USB with the patterns and was helped out by Star in the printing department. She was so so helpful and printed everything for me on the spot, making sure the print size was done correctly (the patterns have to be exactly true to size which leaves no margin for error). I could tell Star was experienced and did an amazing job with my order. I browsed around the store while it was printing and it took a very reasonable amount of time. Very satisfied and will definitely come back next time I need sewing patterns printed. Thank you! read more

I love the idea of this store, but sadly the way they treat their customers is more than a superficial greeting when they don't care about giving rewards for cartridges. They seldom credit cartridge reward system points. I even called the main corporate branch to enquire, the person there said I would get a $16 credit, I went to the store within 2 weeks, and not only was there no credit, the person had created two accounts for me. I have used the same account for over 30 years. I remember when the 2008 recession happened instead of offering good deals in their weekly member mailings, they raised the prices on the consumer. Typical banal corporate behavior. They need to do better. I will shop for these items at their competitors. read more

We finally upgraded to a big boy printer. Nothing in stock so we ordered it in store online. A mistake was made and we recieved the incorrect printer. When I say the exchange process was a pleasure that is an understatement. Phillip not only helped us exchange but upgraded us to a better printer for the same price as the printer we originally wanted. I can't recommend this Office Depot enough, especially in this new Era of work from home with little to no I.T. help. read more

The store is poorly lit and not well organized. I asked for a product that has been made for at least 20 years and is very common. Most drug stores carry a version. The floor attendant had never heard of the product let alone used them. I left the store without purchasing. read more

I love office supplies. I went in tonight to see if there were the tul inserts in store (specifically fitness and Home). I went to the front after not finding what I was looking for, to ask about the products. The woman at the front was very focused on breaking a roll of pennies and looked up at me (and my lack of anything in my hands) like I was interrupting her. I asked if they carry the inserts for the Tul binders, and she looked at me like I have 3 heads. After trying to express what I was looking for, another young lady was called over because she's "been here longer" and may have some idea as to what in the world I was looking for. "Like binders?" "No, the inserts for the disk bound notebooks" So I walked over to a small display, picked up one of the binders and showed her. "You know, this Office Depot exclusive item..." She takes me to the notebook and binder aisle and just opens her arms like Scott Stapp singing "with arms wide open", "this is what we have". Can we order what I'm looking for? Takes me over to a computer and types in tul...all the items are showing (with at least 5 full of office supply goodness), and she clicks on one of the inserts. Yes! That is what I'm looking for, only the smaller size. "Have you used this before" "No, that's why I'm here...because I want to use it" "Well maybe they only make it in this size" no further looking on her part I type in Tul fitness and lo and behold it has both sizes of the inserts. Amazing. The lady "helping" me makes no real acknowledgement to the "the customer wants it, I should get some information to make this sale, or be helpful in any way". I ask for a manager (something I never do because I am dissatisfied. Great service at places? I ask for a manager, I even call the how's my driving lines and tell them their driving great and following the laws...but cal to now) and the manager is the first woman that looked at me like I have 3 heads. At this point I walk away. I turn back and just say "I am so frustrated by my "shopping experience", you didn't even know what it was I was looking for and you're the manager?". I'm a complete pen whore! Red, blue, black, purple, roller ball, ballpoint, felt tip, you name it, I want it. I'm also a recovering paper addict - card stock, scrapbook, stationary, it all makes me crazy. You would think Office Depot would be a dream come true. Meh, not so much. The selection is good. However, the staff may not necessarily know where or even what it is. On my last trip there, I asked where the protractors were. The woman who helped me laughed. Literally laughed. AND she had no idea what it was. *sigh* The sales are the best thing, particularly around September for back-to-school shopping. You can find great deals like Sharpies for 99 cents, printer paper for $2.99, and crayons for just pennies. In addition to sale items, the clearance bin is full of great deals. Other than that, the prices are okay, but nothing to write home about. The staff is friendly enough but they are slow. Slow. The last time I was there I stood in the check-out line for an inordinate amount of time. It took me 4 minutes to drive there and 11 minutes to check out with 2 customers in front of me, each at a register being checked out, and a handful of things to buy. Slow. Parking is plentiful and the location is convenient, right on Aurora Avenue. Good for your mainstream, bulk items (they know what pens and paper are) but anything else, no so much. read more

Although I am an office supply nerd, there is no way I would normally write a review of an office supply store. Even I know that much. But my recent trip to Office Depot was so unusual that I felt compelled to share it here. I've been searching far and wide for a shredder for my home, since my credit card company enjoys sending me applications three or four times a week (seriously) with my name and address typed prominently all over them. I didn't want to pay too much, because, well, I just didn't, but I did want one that does the diamond-cut shredding rather than the little strips of paper. Recon missions to Target and Staples proved fruitless, so I had just let it go until I noticed that my stack of to-shred junk mail was taller than my Xmas tree. Something needed to be done. I went to Office Depot without very high expectations, never having gotten great service at their stores before. But as soon as I walked in, a friendly greeter asked me if he could help me find anything. I told him I needed a shredder, and he started to walk me over to that aisle (rather than just pointing vaguely at the back of the store), then remembered that they had some on clearance and took me over there first. He knew their prices, shredding capacity, and whether they shredded in cross-cut or strips. I picked out one that fit my needs, which was only $15 on clearance, walked right over to the register, and was out of there in less than five minutes. Amazing. When you want to shop like a dude --- walk straight to the aisle you want, get one thing, and leave --- Office Depot totally has your back. Our inkjet printer finally gave up the ghost and we needed a printer immediately. We went to the business Costco and were surprised that they only had two in the entire place. Go there if you want restaurant supplies though, they got you covered there. Then a trip to Best Buy which had loads of printers but none that we really liked. My husband looked online at what Office Depot had to sell and within a half hour, we were back home with our new laser printer. They have an entire parking lot so finding a space was easy. We didn't have problems finding what we needed so I can't really comment on the floor staff. The cashier was friendly. I usually buy my office stuff online but if I needed to physically look at something or buy it immediately, I'd come here with no question. read more

We were looking for a new office chair and in order to get someone to help us out we had to track the guy down and interrupt him from inventory because there was literally no one else to be found in the middle of a Saturday afternoon. Also, we looked at 3 different chairs and each was out of stock so our trip was largely a waste of time. Then bewilderment and the depths of despair - emotions that accompany me moments before and upon walking into any Office Depot store, or Bubba's Big Bong World to meet my online date for the first time. The place is huge and stocked with many lines of products, though they don't specialize in any one thing (the Office Depot philosophy). This has been my go-to Office Depot for years, and service here has ranged from friendly and helpful to brain dead to utterly angstful. Think Munch's character in "The Scream" surrounded by staplers that get stuck and covered with irate Post-it notes, while drowning in an ocean of multi-colored rubber bands, thumb tacks and styrafoam balls. In recent years, Office Depot has tried hard to compete with online retailers, by offering incentive programs, such as membership rewards or $10 off if you take an online survey of Yousef, your service rep, who asks you how your days going as he rings up your $150.00 purchase. "Expensive," you say, instead of the usual, "Not bad." Things here are more expensive than online retailers, and nowadays most office supplies can be purchased online. But in a pinch, for basic office stuff, the Depot ain't bad. read more

This Office Depot is not my fave. I stopped in here to buy some magnets for my classroom. Now, one would think that magnets would be an item routinely stocked, asked about, sought after item, considering this is an office supply store. Well, after about 5 minutes of walking around aimlessly, I decided to seek out an employee to help me in my quest. Mind you, no one greeted me or asked me "Do you need any help?" by this point... Also not encouraging. Finally, I tracked down a guy who looked distracted but offered to help. "Excuse me, do you carry magnets?" "Uh, yeah, I think..." he replies, radioing on his walkie, asking his fellow co-workers. After 3 walkie-talkie attempts and zero reply he shrugs. I continue to follow him through about 5 aisles unsuccessfully. Finally he asks another employee who isn't helping anyone - yet strangely enough did not reply to the walkie-talkie magnet-plea. "Oh yeah, over there," he grumbles without looking up. I am them directed to an adhesive-magnet station where there is nothing but stick-on flat magnets. (sigh). Inevitably there is a tiny section, but it was pithy and pathetic. I've never been disappointed at an Office Depot until now. Sad to say but I'll probably never be back here again, when I know better customer service is available elsewhere. I probably should've just gone to Staples across the street... read more

But this place has everything that you need for any school/office work that you may need to have. From the low end to the slightly high end items, you can be sure you'll find something here. Stay away from this place!!!!!! They do have great employees here, but if you need help in the copying area make sure Cory is not working. I believe he is new because I have not seen him there before. One of the laziest employees. I have been coming here for copies for months and he is the first person who has made me do it all myself. I am bringing my stuff to you so you will do it. That's why I spend over $50 dollars for someone else to do it. He then proceeds to give me my finished laminated copies and it is the laziest work I have ever seen. I know what good work should look like because I've had it done before, so please don't give me some BS story that this is the best you can do. He really didn't want to fix it after I was so unhappy. I don't want to give crappy work to my clients. Needless to say, I will never be back because of him. read more

I said if buy it if I could look in the box and see if it was what I needed. He wouldn't let me so after I bought it and went home I found out there was a totally different product in the box and it was missing cables/wires. Will never return even if I was paid to! Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Ever. I walked in with a return and stood in line for 5 minutes, there were two employees behind the counter not doing a thing. I knew they saw me and did not move. The store was completely empty. There was one customer being helped off to the side. The assistant manager came over and with the most annoyed tone said "can I help you?" So I told him that I had a return and he paused for about 10 seconds, as if deciding to do his job or not, than said "uhm yeah sure go over there" pointing to the counters. So I walked to the counter and put my printer on the counter and handed him the extended warranty paperwork I had purchased. He stared at the paper like it was an alien and than said "uhh what are you wanting me to do? It's passed the return date" The man I had bought the printer from and the extended warranty explained to me that with the warranty I could return passed the 14 day policy no matter what and that the warranty covered accidental problems with the printer like if I were to spill coffee on it. Which happened to my last. He had a smirk on his face the entire time I was talking to him. he said "yeah, well thats not what you got. You just got a warranty." So I asked him specifically what was covered with the warranty and he just kept telling me it was a warranty and did not cover anything that was accidental, just if the printer itself broke. So the EXACT same thing the printer itself came with from HP! Instead of giving me the return for a product that had only been taken out of the box and than put back in the box he wouldn't do anything but give me in store credit. I happen to know it would take 1 button to put the return through and I paid with cash so even easier! I work in sales with an absolute no refund policy and yet, we can still give returns with that button! I would have understood a no return if the printer had been used in any way, but it was not. It has been in the box for 1 month. super crappy parking Office Depot is the biggest joke of a store! I cannot believe they are able to sell such bull ****! Okay place to get your computer and office supplies, but you would think they would be open until 9pm on Saturdays. Nope, locked up tight and business was dark at 8:20pm. Must not be any till counting or cleaning going on, they just split... Yelp reports their hours until 9pm on Saturday and 7pm on Sunday. Google says they close at 8pm Saturday and 6pm Sunday. Since their hours are different on every site I have no clue what time they close nor do I care now because I simply went across the street to Sam's Club and purchased my ink. read more
