Something is very wrong at this business. Not once, not twice, but THREE consecutive times I've purchased shipping tape here and been overcharged. (I know, I know, "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." Well, three times does make me seem a little dense, but I've finally learned my lesson.) The first time, I knew something was wrong with the price charged, so I went back to the shelf, grabbed the price tag, and brought it to the register. The next time, I suppose I had forgotten the previous experience but discovered the incorrect price upon arriving home. At least I had no issue obtaining a refund the next day (although it was another trip to make). And recently (August 18), I was almost nailed again: The price on the shelf tag was $14.99, but the register rang me up for $19.99. Given the consistency of these "errors," evidence seems to indicate that either this is deliberate or those in charge of pricing (or their management) are stunningly incompetent. It no longer matters to me; I'll be buying my shipping supplies elsewhere. The store is a good place, however, to drop off obsolete computer equipment and electronics. read more

Put up a sign for where the Happy Returns are supposed to be. I Stood in the Amazon line because it wasn't clear that it was only Amazon. Why would it be obvious to me to return shirts at the print center?. So I stood where everyone was standing with their random shoes and clothing returns. I spent 15 minutes in line with a toddler who had to pee only to be told I had to go over to the print center. I will say the guy working Amazon returns was nice and clearly felt bad. Not his fault. It's a stupid idea to have Staples take Old Navy returns, (bought online, and that's where they direct you to go to return)but if we have to do this bullshit at least make it clear where to go. read more

Maybe train your people on how fast EVERY OTHER STORE THAT DOES AMAZON RETURNS so this ONE guy you have working doesn't take 15 minutes to wrap a single pillow and have a continuous line of 8 people always. It's almost worth it to just lose the money for the return than put yourself in this stressful ridiculous situation. We were siting in the staples and the one jerk (employee) came to me and my friends and literally said get out of the store or he will call the cops because your friends just stole something, we asked what friends and he sad oh what a surprise you don't know what boys did this so he kicked out me and my friends and said never come back. Also I want to add that we didn't break or steal or do anything bad to their staff we were just siting in the chiars. When we start leaving this jerk start smiling, we were treated really unfairly and we didn't deserve that because we were just siting on the chairs and there wasn't even a sign that we can't seat there. Also he was standing really close to me and it was really uncomfortable, That was my most terrible trip to the store. I will tell my parents about it if next time something similar happens again, I will call the cops! read more

Literally just walked out of this store (sitting in parking lot writing this) and received great service from the print and copy section. There was an accident that happened with laminating something very important to me a few days ago and he quickly handled the request to try and fix things and provided extraordinary service to rectify the situation while showing sympathy. Man, what is up with this location? I only come here to return Amazon stuff usually, but every time I do, I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. The employees don't respond when you greet them, and they certainly don't greet you. I came for a passport photo and apparently you can't pay at the register in which you get it done so I went to wait at the register the young man told me to go to (which incidentally was the only register with its light on) and waited there for a good 10 minutes. The only visible employees were at the passport desk, they saw me waiting there, even told me to wait there, but no one helped me. They just stood there staring at the computers and purposely not making eye contact. After an extended amount of time, another employee emerged and opened up a different checkstand than the one I was standing at, and called over people in line that have been waiting a much shorter time than I had been. By this point, there were six other people in line behind me, and by the time I was able to grab my items that I had set down, I ended up having to go to the end of the line and wait some more. It was so mismanaged and obvious they just didn't want to help people and are just suffering through their shift. Today, I went in to return an Amazon item and asked the lady with short hair at the central desk by the door where to go (since it's changed twice now this year). Without even looking up, she waved me over to the corner. Thank God, I finally got to communicate with a person who had a pulse. Amelia is clearly the only person in this location who wants to work or interact with customers. I see that others have mentioned that here as well. She was friendly, she was efficient, and she was helpful. As I left, I said, "Thank you and have a good day" to another employee who was standing at the cash register, not helping anyone, and she just looked at me with the blank stare of a zombie. I had a disappointing experience at Staple recently while interacting with Blair and Cameron. Cameron, who professes to be a manager, displayed a lack of qualification in handling the situation appropriately. Their customer service was not only rude but also aggressive, leaving me surprised by the evident lack of professionalism and respect towards customers. Staples in mill creek is an awful place to go to. Everyone here is so incompetent. The manager there has very poor customer service and very unprofessional no empathy whatsoever. Choose better qualified manager for your store. I don't want staples to go out of business. I made a mistake and bought a staples brand wireless mouse and it failed to work after a couple of weeks of using it. The manager won't try to help whatsoever. All he said was "We have a 14 days return policy. I can't help you. I can't not override anything here at the cashier. You have to put it up with customer service online" dude you are the manager and that the only thing you can say to an upset customer. I will never buy from Staples ever again. You just lost a customer for life. I am better off buying stuff on Amazon. read more

Angie, in the printing center is awesome! I came in needing a résumé printed for an interview that I had 45 minutes later, clearly I was in a bit of a hurry. It was obvious that she was very busy juggling several different tasks, but without an issue she paused what she was doing to print out the résumé I emailed. After several great experiences in the print shop, my wife and I set out to buy a laser printer for our home office. We milled around the printer aisle for 20 minutes and was never approached, or even acknowledged. We found a printer on Amazon but didnt want to wait. We selected the printer using consumer reports but found that source to be several years old. We needed a printer immediately and was hoping to get advice a little more current information than CR. Sadly no one was interested in helping the two lost people in the printer aisle. If we were standing in the paper aisle I could understand it. read more

I was looking for a part-time summer job to gain experience and of all places I applied, Staples was one of the very few willing to provide me that opportunity. Their willingness to be flexible with my schedule and accommodate to my needs is what encouraged me to continue working there (until Spring Quarter) even though I initially wanted to only apply for the summer. The experience at the front desk allowed me to grow more in customer service skills and connect with fellow passerbys. Why do Staples employees keep wasting my time? I called this location ahead of time to try and save myself possible hassle and ask about a specific product that was out of stock in stores and only available online, but could also be delivered to the store location with a 1 hour pick up option. First of all, the person I talked to on the phone said that meant they had it in the store currently if pickup was given as an option and it would be there at the store if I drove over. I just found out from Google that 1 hour pick up actually means the product has to be shipped from a warehouse to the store location and is not in the exact store. (This is fine with me, but I was told incorrect information & I don't know why the employee doesn't know their own policy.) So, before I drove over that employee told me that they could put the item on hold for me and I gave them the exact name and code multiple times when they asked. I drove all the way over there to find a different version of the item on hold with a note on it saying the item I had asked to put on hold was out of stock. I was never told this on the phone or contacted after the phone call about it. This would have been good to know before I drove over there which was the whole point of my calling beforehand. Also, the person at the counter I talked to about this didn't tell me I could still do the online one-hour pick up to have that item that I wanted sent to their store for me and come back for it. The extra star is because they were pretty nice and did offer to help look at what selection was available in store. I ordered the one hour pickup of the correct item today and made sure to have it shipped to a different Staples location because of how frustrating this experience was. This is not the only time I've called a Staples store and been told something completely different would be possible which ended up not being an option when I arrived there. I was told when I called another Staples location that they could order the online pickup item for me on the store computer as part of an exchange even if it was being sent to a separate Staples location (since the 1 hour pickup was not able to be shipped to that store location) This was not true either. Next time, I'm just going to use a different office supply brand store when I need something. read more

I went in to drop off ink cartridges for recycling. I was told I had to do that at the customer service desk, even though I don't have an account and wasn't asking for any money back, I just wanted to drop off the empty cartridges. Since I had to stand and wait in line to talk to a cashier to drop off the cartridges, I picked out some candy for my kids. The register to my right had the light off, and a blonde gal was helping ease the congestion and check someone out. I stood in the line with the light that was on, and spent about 10 minutes waiting while the cashier assisted customers in front of me with large back-to-school supply transactions. The blonde gal finished her transaction, and walked away to push some carts in from the vestibule. I continued to stand and wait. When I finally made it to the customer service desk to turn in my cartridges and make my candy purchase, the blonde gal came around from the vestibule and said "I can help the next person" to the man behind me, who had been standing there for literally one minute. I stood in line for over 10 minutes, and she saw me and walked right out the door to do something else, but then immediately took the man in line behind me. No floor associates were capable of taking my cartridges from me, I was brushed off by one of the cashiers, and the store still got a sale off of me. As someone who has worked many customer service jobs, I'm very irritated with my experience and don't care to go back. read more

There is only one trained (and rude) TSA pre-check lady at this place who takes smoke breaks when she's running behind and doesn't honor appointments for customers. If you are running behind you should stick to the schedule and only when you are caught up and someone no-shows do you take a walk-in. Being organized and making an appointment apparently doesn't pay off AND dragging our two toddlers to hang out all night at Staples isn't going to work (only other parents would understand not the 16 year old working at the store who gave me attitude when I asked)!! On behalf of my husband who didn't get his appointment because the TSA lady was blatantly passing him by, don't waste your time. Not to mention how I was treated during my own appointment felt like being at the DMV or by TSA themselves. Just hire someone better! read more

Recently I went in to another office supply store & got terrible service so I wasn't expecting much at Staples. I lowered my expectations - didn't expect much. My experience in Staples was great - and not because I lowered my expectations. I got good service. In the other store I told a clerk that the price was wrong on an item he rung up. He dismissed me, rang me up & sent me on my way. In Staples, a young man asked me if he could help me find anything & escorted me over to the calendar aisle. He was with me the entire time & even walked up towards the register with me. Very friendly & I felt valued through my whole experience. read more

Was there with two employees to buy office furniture and a few other office supplies and with all of the security guards following us...it would have been nice to have been offered help on an office chair selection. Sat in that section for 10 mins with people watching BUT NOT OFFERING ANY help??? I did get a printer and a few other items...however I went to Amazon and found a better selection at a cheaper price. Take advantage of the back to school sales! You can literally buy notebooks for .1 cent, composition notebooks for .10 cents, dividers for .50 cents, etc etc. The catch? Most of the super cheap items (like these listed) have a strict limit, such as you can only get 2 or 3, AND/OR you have to spend a minimum amount. The most I saw was a "minimum purchase of $5" in order for discounts to be effective. It's still a great buy, seeing that you'll still be looking for other supplies that'll easily total $5 or whatever the amount. Kids, make sure you look through the Sunday newspaper ads... Staples will be there :-) Also, they have a fair amount of items ranging from chairs, desks, to laptops, electronics, backpacks... You name it. I'd wait for a sale for computer chairs... Why pay $189 when you can pay $99? :-) Service is okay... Give them a few seconds to think about where things are and they'll be happy to show you. read more

I was very disappointed in my exchange of a simple fax machine. The sales associate acted like I got a great deal but in the end he charged me more than he led me to believe. I will never buy anything from there again. One & half years later my ADT security system isn't working. All the connections, which isn't much, are connected but ADT said they will charge me a minimum of $100 to come out to fix the ADT control panel!! They said I should have paid for the maintenance program, suck crappy equipment, they know it's gonna fail. Since day one this whole process & equipment of ADT is has been terrible!! This is a great Staples to visit. It is seldom busy, which means you can easily get in and get out as well as being able to find employees to assist when needed. The staff is friendly and is not pushy for add ons. They also take printer cartridges with a smile for the Staples rewards program, which is appreciated. I also find this location makes ad items easy to find and kept well in stock. This Staples is a great place to go to, but you have to shop their ads. Their full prices are insanely high! read more

I rarely go to staples for my needs typically I go straight to Amazon. Although, after a long day and realizing that I forgot my laptop charger in my home state. So being now here in Washington as my new home, off to staples I went. I walked in and was warmly greeted by Ruben the sales manager. He didn't just point in the direction of the chargers, walked me over and discussed my options and together helped me come to another option. I was so impressed. Endlessly on hold. Multiple untrained female staff. Takes about 15 minutes on hold between two phone calls just to find out if they sell internal WIFI cards for Desktop Computers. Of course this store is like other lame retail electronics stores. They only sell WIFI USB sticks. USB sticks are cheesy, ridiculously over priced and isn't permanent and easily fails. He came and was so RUDE to his employee in front of me and he was RUDE TO ME! Why is this guy a manager? Why does this guy even work in customer service? He spoke down to me as if he was some enlightened pompous jerk. If staples wanted to hire someone that doesn't understand management and customer service they did a great job in finding MICHAEL.
