He said fine, and sold it to me for $43.89. I asked why? "We have lots of prices, but if a customer says he saw it for a lower price, we are supposed to just give you that price". REALLY? I have been a Business Select member for the last few years. My issue with their Printing services of Office Depot. For the last few years, I have been very happy with the service I received from Nausheen. She is awesome! Ever since so called manager came in, the service at the Printing Services has gone downhill. I asked him I needed to make 7 copies. He said I can't just come in and that I had to put the order in through the website. He essentially said that I can go to Fedex if I wanted to. Secondly, after doing that, when he was about to print, apparently, the format of the print job needed to be adjusted. He then stated that if he even makes the slightest change, he would charge me. I told him that I can make the change which would have taken a few seconds to make the change. He said that I couldn't do it. I asked him if I can use one of the laptops and he said it was against company policy. So I went back to the car and made the change in 30 seconds and had the 7 copies printed. This guy has zero customer service. He needs to be trained on how to provide good customer service or he needs to find another job that does that involve dealing with customers. read more

I've had some good service at this location in person. Last year, I order a large bound book of materials for work, and this location ended up printing the work. They called me to confirm what I ordered, and when I went to pick it up, it was done pretty well. They did miss the labels on the dividers, but they were all in the correct location. Unfortunately, when I printed the exact same material again and ordered it online, all I did was hit "reorder" and I changed the quantity, but the central print shop bound the material on the wrong side, despite the mock up showing me the binding correctly. When I tried to get them to address the mistake, they refused and said I should re-order it. Not only was this very frustrating for a mistake they made. But it was also impossible for me to order it and guarantee that the binding would be on the correct side, because there wasn't anywhere on the order form to indicate which side the binding would be on. The only thing to even verify was the mock-up, which had been correct, but wasn't what they did. If you do need something printed, make sure to take it into the local shop where you can talk to someone. Do NOT, under any circumstances, order online, unless you're prepared to waste your money. read more

If I could give this store one star I would. I needed to print 5-10 copies of my resume on nicer paper stock. The person at the counter (likely the manager) was basically doing nothing. In a very rude and condescending he told me I could print it myself on lower quality paper or I could wait 2-3 days...Again he was rude, had no customers, and said they were busy printing stuff (which they weren't. I was looking to spend another $50 on supplies. I never had this issue ever before. I flat out told the guy he's being lazy and went to Staples. They made 10 prints in 5 minutes and were super helpful and friendly. read more

Checkout services are good but the printer area oh no... there was an employee there sitting at the counter I asked for help and simply just said follow the directions on the printer I had to turn it into a pdf and no directions on the printer asked for help just said and I quote "you have to turn it into a pdf" would not recommend going to this store to get something printed go to Walgreens or somewhere else. read more

Better manager/employees, overweight Indian guy at printing area claims to be manager but doesn't want to help/ assist customers when in need of assistance. I repeatedly asked for help, he wouldn't budge. He repeatedly asked what I needed help with 3 times after I had already told him. He finally got up not until another customer walked to the counter. He would have sat there if other customer hadn't heard our conversation. I asked for refund, prior to asking for help I attempted to self print copies myself but copies came out blank, I paid for 50 blank sheets. He said he won't give refund because it's not his fault. I repeatedly asked "why not? The sheets are blank" he repeatedly stated it's not his fault. I understand it's not his fault I'm not saying it was. Blank copies could've easily been refunded and reused but he didn't want to help. The whole situation was ugly and annoying. He said blank sheets would be thrown away but I know he's going to reuse them. Get better, healthier employees who aren't miserable and can help customers. read more

The most helpful staff I've ever dealt with compared to all the other Office Depot locations and even Staples. I've had the best experience with everyone who's worked at the copy center. I don't have their names but I remember their faces and I come all the way from Chicago because I know they will help me with all my printing projects. I am not the most tech savvy, but their staff is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to advice on how to get your formatting correct before you print. I did all the printing there for my bridal shower and wedding! Super affordable to do it yourself and go to Office Depot to print. The manager Tyler has a great team! It's hard to find a dedicated team willing to help with the smallest and biggest projects. I will continue to drive an hour just to get the service I get at this location. read more

I had a couple online shopping returns so I went here to print a couple shipping labels and buy some packaging. The self-service printer was super easy to use, but an employee was always close by in case I needed help. Printing here isn't expensive, even when you're only printing a couple things. The employee who rang me up at the register when I bought my packaging was very friendly and polite, and he helped me sign up for the free rewards program, which actually saved me some money just for signing up!! Came here for the first time because I needed to get some file folders to organize my tax papers and stuff and home. Also picked up a pack of index cards to make labels for the IKEA boxes and magazine files I had at home. The store is large and bright, and it was pretty quiet when I visited on a weekend afternoon. The service people were nice and attentive, and they even offered me the choice of having a paper receipt, an email one, or both. I like how this store is next to H-Mart, so I could just go next door for groceries after shopping here. :) read more

Store Review: Wow surprised by all the negative reviews, but I often go into the store knowing what I want to buy and the price. I ended up at this location on black friday, standing in a rather short line with the masses waiting to get a good deal on a portable hard drive. The store is well organized and all of the bargain black friday items were set on tables in the main area. The only hiccup was the super long line to pickup electronic items which I guess could not be avoided. Otherwise this is a great location for office supplies and less for electronics given the relatively high price unless items are on sale. I tried to call the 1-800 number multiple times and remained on hold for over 30 min with no answer. I tried their automated chat by text which did nothing. I purchased office supplies and upon checkout, cashier instructed me to donate $5 for some charity. There was no request or presentation of what the donation is for. It's the last time I will walk into this store. $85.99 for HP ink. Every website had it advertised cheaper, it was even cheaper on their own website. Best Buy, Staples .... I purchased an office chair from the Office Depot website. On their site it said it was in stock and ready for pick up at the store. When we arrived at the store, the employee said there was no chair. After some going back and forth between the store and online customer service, we ended up with no chair and no refund. This went on for a couple of weeks. This was not a pleasant experience but that can be for a separate review. I left a complaint on their website and a few days later, we received a call from Shane, the general manager of this location. The four star rating is for this specific store and not Office Depot online services. Shane was very understanding of our situation and went out of his way to have the chair for us at the store. He spoke with the person we were dealing before and said they ought to feel more empowered to help customers in situations like these. Shane set an example of great customer service and restored our trust in the store! For the time being, we will stay away from online purchases and visit the store when we need office supplies. read more

An Office Depot is an Office Depot is an Office Depot, and I probably wouldn't even be taking the time to review this store if it weren't for this location having a lower rating on Yelp than I feel like is accurate. I found the staff who were dispersed throughout the store to be both friendly and effective. Upon entering you're greeted by someone who asks if they can help you find whatever it is you're looking for and declares themselves ready should any questions arise. Another employee noticed us eying a bookshelf just for fun as we decided to take a break from the line at the front of the store (which consisted of only me and one person at the register) where one woman wanted to buy twelve different things using eight different forms of payments- guaranteeing the line wouldn't being going anywhere for at least 15 more minutes, so we walked over to peruse and pretend like I can afford items of which to furnish my apartment that I'm already cutting dangerously close to not being able to afford. While I was making believe I had an office chair that wasn't a two-decade couch from Craiglist and a desk that wasn't also my 'dining room' table and that wasn't also made out of well shellacked plywood, the guy manning the furniture area didn't try to sell us on anything or push us into anything we didn't want, but instead just told us that they have $20 off any furniture purchase over $100 going on at the moment. I still wasn't in the market for opening my wallet to fanciful things, but I did appreciate knowing about the special and perhaps if I win the lottery I'd come back and think about it again. Anyway, up until the check-out situation, this place is totally 4 solid stars. It's easy to navigate, the parking lot is almost always empty and because it's a pretty big chain. you know what to expect as far as product and selection. Checking out, as I realized on my second time entering the line, takes a bit more time. They'll have one single cashier and that cashier will also be in charge of answering their phone and then checking out, and even though I only bought one thing, it seemed to take much longer than necessary. Job placement is not random. OMG. The person I just dealt with here made me want to SCREAM. She was sooooooo sllllllllooooooowwwwww. I was in Schaumburg this afternoon and had to overnight something to Wisconsin. I had thirty minutes before I had to be somewhere. I found an Office Depot and guessed that they would have a UPS, FedEx, or DHL. I guessed right. They had a DHL set up. Can you guarantee delivery tomorrow? This is going to a small town in Wisconsin. "I dunno. Wait a minute." She walked away to ask someone. Uh oh, she was out of sight. I am tapping my foot and looking at my watch. Finally, she comes back. "Is it international? If it is, we can't guarantee next day delivery." Wisconsin. I had said, Wisconsin. Great, can you guarantee delivery before 5 pm? This is going to an establishment that will be closed at 5 pm on the dot. "I dunno. Wait a minute." She walked away again. Oh, no. Damn. I am actually going to be late if this keeps up. She comes back. "It'll be there by 5pm." Is the delivery guaranteed?, I ask. Here it comes: "I dunno. Wait a minute." I say: "No, (I am desparate) You wait a minute. It's fine. Here. Please. Take my stuff. Put it in the envelope. How much is it?" "I dunno. Wait a minute." Here is my credit card. You are making me late. Please, don't ask anyone any more questions, okay? Please? What awful service. I had to threaten to walk away from a laptop sale just to shut a manager up about the 14 different optimization services they were trying to sell me. How many times DOES one have to say no? For me it was "three, per plan, and four for the virus software." Unbelievably STUPID sales techniques here, from implying the computers are flimsy to try to sell the damage plan, to offering to put my other purchases away for me because I said I was on a budget. Excuse me, are you the dumbest person on the planet? Do you actually work for CompUSA and just snuck in to drive away customers? The funny thing is, I had other stuff to buy, but I was so irritated by the rude salesperson that we just left. So $100 in ancillary sales went to Staples. I would compare this place to a used car dealership, but a used car salesman has never pissed me off this bad. In fact, by comparison, buying my last used car was like getting a hot stone massage. Horrible Customer Service, I needed 1099's after this store lost our first order for delivery. We finally did get the order but they were the wrong ones, I could have ordered the wrong ones, don't know. I went online to see if my local store had them, under a time crunch, the website was so slow so called the store to see if they could help me. I told the guy I needed so many 1099's and additional 1096's but he didn't even listen to me, in fact, he told me he wasn't a tax guy and they had 14 products (no 1096's though, which he could have told me). I went into this Office Depot to Fax a updated DNR form for my father to two hospitals. I had been given incorrect information by the hospitals as to what fax numbers to use. While at the counter I was using my cell phone to call the hospitals to gain the correct information. The young man at the counter became impatient with me, letting me know after the faxes had been sent that I could leave. I let him know that I as just taking a minute to enter the correct Fax numbers into my phone. There were other customers in the area when he so rudely reprimanded me. When are brick and mortar stores going to realize that their level of customer service is one of the things that will keep customers coming back or not! Because I wouldn't get it on time, the manager Tina approved printing it at the store which meant they'd have to print one side, flip the cards over to print the other, THEN cut each side by hand. When I came to pick it up, another employee had done it incorrectly so Naureen fixed 1000 cards with the cutting machine BY HAND!!! I purchased a $400.00 chair and assembled it at home from the Office Depot at Golf and Roselle in Schaumburg, ilAfter I finished I noticed a small tear in the back of the chair. When I went to return it I asked the store manager Sean to please put the new chair together for me. It would cost $12.00. I said I thought it would be good customer service if he waived the fee for my inconvience. He smirked at me and said no!! I said it's not about the $12.00 but about compensating a customer that had already put a chair together that was damaged. With so many options for buyers to purchase a chair I would think he would want a return customer, but obviously he didn't care. Just purchased an executive desk chair. It was the leather big and tall model for about $400.00. My sales rep was Jamal. He really is great when it comes to customer service! Turns out they had plenty of these chairs in stock for immediate pickup. Reading the reviews most people gave this Serta Brand chair high marks but said it would take about an hour to assemble if you did it yourself. I decided to have the people at Office Depot in Schaumburg do it for me at about $15.00 extra. Now here is the rest of the story... They got it ready for me in less than one hour. The day before, I almost purchased a similar chair from Staples in Elk Grove Village, IL. BUT they could not assemble it for me quickly. :( They said it would take 24 hours! Had to check out the Office Depot in Schaumburg and see if the could do the assembly faster than that. I have been using my chair for two days now and it is great! I am giving this place 4 stars mainly for the customer service. I work out of my home so I am frequently visiting this place. They are so quick to ask you if you need any help and returning things are a breeze. I was purchasing a computer chair and they did not seem to have a lot in stock, I think I went through 3 different chairs that they did not have in stock but it is a smaller store in a not so high traffic area so I think that may be the issue. But, customer service is huge for me and they definately have that down pat. read more

I brought in my laptop that wasn't working properly to Office Depot to get the free check up. They told me they would call me in a few days when their tech looks at it which was fine with me. The next day I received a call from the worker telling me that my laptop would need about $200 worth of work and I told them not to do the work and that I can pick it up soon. I got another call the next day telling me I owed $25 even though I had told them not to do any work but I was ok with this and I had plans to pick it up that night. I ended up not picking it up because of other conflicts. The day after that (today) I get a call from the tech again telling me that my laptop is ready to be picked up, but this time he tells me I owe $245. I never told them to do any work and now I owe $245 for a laptop I only payed $300 for? That makes no sense and I wouldn't recommend anyone to go here. I have other things I could have used that money for that are far more important but I can't anymore. read more

Awesome Customer Service! I had ordered some business cards online and thought they would be ready in an hour. When I checked later, I noticed that the online system had it ready for the next day after 7PM, but I needed them for a networking event in the morning. I called the store up about an hour before closing and the printing services person explained the situation and said she could run the print and get me the cards within 15 minutes.
