They walk you through the whole process and options. All 4 times has ended with pieces that are extraordinary. They all have an amazing eye for their craft! We've used this place for many items over the years that we get on our travels. They always do a very nice job and take their time to be sure you get exactly the perfect frame colors and textures to accentuate your pieces. Our last framed pieces were hand painted antique Iznik tiles from Turkey that we bought in Istanbul. The frames are beautiful and really tailor what a basic craft store simply couldn't do. The 2 large framed pieces are actually made up of 6 separate tiles each which can be tricky to lay as the tiles are old and all don't lay perfectly but they were able to arrange cohesively without any damage! They are a bit expensive but the quality and handling is important with these type of antiquities! read more

Stopped in with a small problem and the owner went out of his way to make sure it was solved, quickly and to my satisfaction. I know it wasn't my good looks, charm, and personality and surely it wasn't the small fee for my request. That leaves only one explanation: the owner is a really nice guy who likes his work and enjoys his customers. I took both my jerseys to this location and not only did I receive them back later than I was told the finished product was not what I was told or expected. I was told that the jerseys would be done in two weeks and they were not. I contacted Anthony and he ended up sending me a rude message he meant to send to his boss. I was told the jerseys would look crispy and identical to each other in formatting. One frame is bigger than the other, one jersey sleeve is longer than the other, the stretch job looks like something a dog can dog with its teeth. I still can't believe the amazing transformation Tony did on this piece! I wasn't sure how this was going to turn out but I put faith in his suggestion as we couldn't match the gold. We added the blush backing and choose a cream spray for the frame. I literally cried when he revealed to me. I will update this after our wedding with better pictures. read more

I stopped in this place to have my master's degree framed that has been sitting in it's diploma holder since not long after receiving it in the mail. And in case you are wondering, no, they do not give you your actual degree when you walk across the stage at most schools. You just a receive blank diploma holder so your family will have something to take pictures of you with. The university has to wait and make sure you do not have any 'holds' (meaning you owe them money) and they mail it to you 6 weeks later. Considering all the money I paid to receive it, not to mention the ball busting work, I figured the time had come to give it a proper accompaniment so I could get it up on the wall. I had not had anything framed since my undergrad degree, so I was fairly inquisitive with the clerk on duty. I had no idea what exactly I was looking for as far as frame size, matting, etc. but she was very helpful and patient with suggestions and tips. The clerk suggested that I go with a larger frame than what I had for my undergraduate degree (makes sense), and that I opt for a something other than a neutral colored border to add some "pop" to it. She also added that having it framed with this kind of protectant U.V. glass called 'Tru Vue' would ensure that it stood the test of time. I pretty much just took all of her suggestions and called it a day, as she does do this type of thing everyday and what do I know about framing? It turned out to be a good call. They quoted me a week turnaround before I could pick it up and it turned out great. It set me back close to 150 bucks, but just picking it up it feels substantial and well constructed. There is a sticker on the back offering suggestions for cleaning, and also an attached wire for ease of hanging. My 100K piece of paper now looks much more presentable. read more

I had an excellent all-round experience at the Schaumburg store. Over a couple of days, I interacted with several people both in person and on the phone. Each person was helpful and courteous. The guidance I requested during the frame selection process was given freely and it was very helpful to me in choosing a frame and glass (ultraviolet resistant). I am very pleased with the end result in that the framing of my piece of art looks great and is well done! The cost seemed very fair and the work was done a day sooner than I requested. I went to this specific store based on the reviews, and they had a great coupon on their site for 100 off $200. I had three prints framed. I was promptly helped after waiting only a few minutes. He helped pick out frames and matting and was knowledgable of the stock. When asked for his advice on framing, he provided some good ideas. They called when the prints were done which was in the timeframe they provided. And... They look beautiful and were nicely wrapped for the journey home. I don't think the shop was overpriced similar to other shops I've used although the discount helped a lot. I will definitely use this place again. read more

Great store! I had a reproduction that needed to be framed and had a recommendation from the artist on what frame to choose. The owner of the store was wonderful with helping me and he was very polite and knowledgeable. I did a simple black frame with a black 2inch boarder and used the museum glass. The folks at The Great Frame Up could not have been more helpful, professional, or more knowledgeable. I needed an engraved piece of granite mounted and framed. It is heavy and the artist's signature is on the edge. Several places looked at it, some were not even interested, others had poor ideas that would not look very nice. But at the Great Frame Up, I found people who knew exactly what was needed and put in the effort to make the piece look fabulous. In 2002 I had a biographical collage framed by them. I hadn't seen it since that time. I recently retrieved it from where it hung and discovered that hermetically sealed isn't necessarily what you get. I was assured it was hermetically sealed with UV protective glass. The color in one of the photos was a Judge in a black robe. Now, 2014, the robe is splotchy green. I'm disappointed. I paid over $500.00 dollars. read more
