We finally were able to go in on 2/26/22. And, the wait was worth it. We were the only people who were not volunteers or employees that day - we had the museum to ourselves. The building was much larger than it appears outside. You enter into the front room, which is a combination of artifacts, art, jewelry, and a gift shop. There is a room open on the north side which was, for the most part empty. This is their special exhibit room. There were some remaining items from a prior exhibit, which were very interesting. There is also a room upstairs with various items. The most interesting were the quilts and a Native American dress exhibit. Most of the museum is built to honor Native American veterans. This whole theme was fascinating. I fancy myself as an American history buff. Frankly, everything was new to me except for a display case explaining the "Code Talkers." (If you aren't sure about the code talkers - check Wikipedia or see the movie. This was fantastic. There is no entrance fee so you can just enter, but there is a place to leave donations. When you do go, make sure to donate what you can. Much of their funding relies on this.

After discovering the Na Hoku brand on our trips to Hawaii, we were thrilled to find one locally. I love their collection of unique and Island inspired jewelry. They have nice marine life and nautical pieces in addition to tradition Hawaiian styles that have a lot of history and meaning behind them. Their jewelry focuses alot on Hawaiian if not Polynesian style jewelry that reflects Pacific islander themes. Back then they were known for their Tahitian and South Sea pearls which they still have a few now and I was looking inside at the woodfield Mall. Amazing that they survived the pandemic because their other store in Oakbrook outlet Mall in Oakbrook, IL I learned was closed from their fellow sales rep. The Schaumburg location lasted back into the 1990s that I remember but never walked in. until mid 2000's. Anyways curiosity got the best for me to stroll around woodfield Mall in Schaumburg and haven't gone to the store for some time. I walked in just thinking that I was going to do window shopping just to stumble upon certain jewelry that really caught my attention or caught my fancy. I didn't buy this piece of jewelry but it was unique and had to put this on Yelp despite that I usually Yelp about restaurants but never about jewelry and it's been awhile since I've uploaded Google this past year on the same reviews so that not just yell but other media that places reviews will read on the world wide web about how great or how bad my experiences are. But in regards to jewelry there was a sterling silver crab necklace that came with a silver chain. Which I found unique also it was my horoscope or zodiac sign being cancer the crab. I didn't buy it right away but I waited until my next paycheck since I had enough to purchase it. Connie or Constance I believe the salesperson's name was was courteous enough to let me try it on. But like any staff member they were not eager but were amiable to help if I needed any help. There is also what I was also reflecting was a beautiful sterling silver octopus bracelet as well as octopus rings that I thought was beautiful if not unique and tasteful. Almost one of a kind. The bracelets were very expensive and I don't know anybody to give it to but I do recommend if you want that unique piece of sea or Island Pacific jewelry this is the place to go.
