We live only a few miles from the Trickster Cultural Center and have never been able to go. We've…read moretried to go many times over the years but never looked at their hours of operation. We finally were able to go in on 2/26/22. And, the wait was worth it. We were the only people who were not volunteers or employees that day - we had the museum to ourselves. The building was much larger than it appears outside. You enter into the front room, which is a combination of artifacts, art, jewelry, and a gift shop. There is a room open on the north side which was, for the most part empty. This is their special exhibit room. There were some remaining items from a prior exhibit, which were very interesting. There is also a room upstairs with various items. The most interesting were the quilts and a Native American dress exhibit. Most of the museum is built to honor Native American veterans. This whole theme was fascinating. I fancy myself as an American history buff. Frankly, everything was new to me except for a display case explaining the "Code Talkers." (If you aren't sure about the code talkers - check Wikipedia or see the movie. This was fantastic. There is no entrance fee so you can just enter, but there is a place to leave donations. When you do go, make sure to donate what you can. Much of their funding relies on this.

Prices were a bit above average with moderate wait times but the food itself was absolutely filling making the wait time worth it. Once it came however there was damage to the edge of the table top where the wood was all cracked and coming away from the main part of the table. It took a bit, but I got them to bring another table. When the new table came and the delivery guys opened it from its packing they said they couldn't give me the new table. I asked why. Turns out the new tables legs were all broken and had giant chunks of wood missing! Thankfully they were able to replace just the table top and keep my takes legs. I'm really happy with the table however I was told it was sealed wood. It's not it's white washed and everything wet leaves marks. And I was told the chairs were simple cleaning due to children being messy I needed fabric that I could spot clean with ease. This fabric however isn't exactly that simple to clean and remove marks from. If i knew how delicate the whole set would be in those regards I'd have made it a piece for my dining room. I did however sand it and seal coat the tables top myself and have had no issues with it since then. Again this set is gorgeous and is still buy it again even with its downfalls because i do love it. I also just purchased a piece of wall art from here. It's very large and perfect for my entry way. I really like some of their wall decor and will probably be back for another piece for my dining room soon!

And for a top 10 mall, just about every type of store and dining option awaits you upon entry. The HVAC ventilation system didn't seem to be working optimally this weekday. Restrooms were well-attended to. Plenty of free, available parking. Top-notch people watching spot. 2nd-tier must see stop for travelers visiting the Chicago metro area for the 1st time.

Woodfield Mall is the biggest in Illinois and it certainly isn't a surprise. A crap tons of stores are here. There's also a food court and restaurants. Certainly it has a lot of history. It's the main thing interesting about this suburb. There's a bunch of other businesses and restaurants that have come in around it and it's still got quality stuff after all of these years. As for the mall itself there's plenty to look at. The location is located close to major highways and there's bus routes. Has a lot of impact on the local economy. It opened in 1971 by the Taubman Company and is now owned by Simon. Has a few main anchors. There's currently JC Penney, Macy's, Nordstrom, and Primark. Has a couple of floors. On the first floor is Ben And Jerry's, Crocs, Express, Hollister, Starbucks, and TCBY. On the top floor is Anthropologie, Auntie Anne's, Eddie Bauer, LEGO Store, Uncle Julio's, and Zumiez among other things. A lot of course has changed. There used to be a Rainforest Cafe and of course there used to be Sears. Got to check it out even though it's not like it used to be. It's located along Golf Road. There's a few times it may be sketchy but people usually aren't violent or whatever.

Our last framed pieces were hand painted antique Iznik tiles from Turkey that we bought in Istanbul. The frames are beautiful and really tailor what a basic craft store simply couldn't do. The 2 large framed pieces are actually made up of 6 separate tiles each which can be tricky to lay as the tiles are old and all don't lay perfectly but they were able to arrange cohesively without any damage! They are a bit expensive but the quality and handling is important with these type of antiquities!

It is a nice little walk around the pond and can prove to be a relaxing place to grab lunch and dine alfresco.
