I could NOT be any HAPPIER with the service I received from Omar Cruz (associate number 751202). I had a print job that I ordered and paid for online and had to drive 30 minutes to get there with two screaming babies in the car and right before I arrive they both fell asleep in the car and I did not want to chance taking them out to go to the store for fear of waking them. When I called, Omar was gracious enough to bring the order out to me so I didn't have to "wake the monsters" (haha). He initially discovered there had been an error in communication and that my order accidentally got canceled but he offered to go back in and ensure that the order got printed properly and then returned with product in hand. It was such a tough day in motherhood and this small act of kindness made a HUGE impact on the rest of my evening! Thank you Omar!!! read more

If I could give negative stars for lack of integrity I would!!! Beware of the scams at this Office Depot. A young man Yash Devani seemed very helpful, I even took his name down because I felt he went above and beyond. He asked if I wanted to add my email for coupons and I'd receive a discount for my purchase. That seemed standard with other stores. So I signed up, not knowing he actually signed me up for a reoccurring order of ink online!!! They automatically took the money out of he debit card I used to pay and I received a confirmation email tracking a monthly subscription to ink. This has got to be one of the saddest Office Depot I've been to. I came here after work, and the place was empty. I found 3 employees chatting with each other, a few profanities dropped, as they shot the breeze about their social life. They looked up and realized they had an actual customer, and asked if I needed something. I was looking for a screen to protect my new laptop monitor. I was standing in the aisle of the laptops and they replied "Oh, uh, we don't carry that item." Hello?? I said... gesturing to the aisle of laptops. You sell them but offer no protection for the screen? You do have them for the tablets and phones. I walked around the place, and found the prices to be expensive for office/school supplies. The spiral notebook paper was $2 here, but 50cents at Target. No wonder Office Depots are closing up everywhere. Their selection is subpar, and their prices are outrageous. Save money and stop making those annoying commercials, and pass the savings onto the customer. For office supplies you're better off going to Target or even Costco. read more

Worst copy services! They promise online that it will be ready in an hour. It's been an hour and a half and they have not even started printing. Printing staff blames it on all the people walking in this morning. I ask to speak with a manager and he only gave me excuses and no solutions! Unbelievably poor customer service experience. We stood in the checkout line for over 10 minutes with zero workers even making an effort to come check people out. There was one worker checking out at the printing counter who rang over the walkie 4 separate times for help ringing people out because at this point there are 4 or 5 people waiting behind me now. There was multiple workers around the store and every single customer in the store was waiting to check out. When the one worker called us over to the printing counter you could very visibly see that they were frustrated and angry with their coworkers. From what I can see this seems to be a repetitive issue because this seems to happen every time I come in. This is no blame on the lovely worker that was basically working the store by themselves. As someone who works in customer service this is embarrassing for the management team because they can't seem to manage a very commonly empty store. FALSE ADVERTISING!!! At it's finest. If you go into Office Depot, they have a large sign that says they will match any store price guaranteed! Lies. I just came out of this one where I was trying to purchase a router. I tried to get a price match, as Amazon had it for cheaper. The manager comes out and tells me that the item has to be sold and shipped by Amazon. No where on the Office Depot advertisement, and I mean no where did I see fine print stating that Amazon items must be sold and shipped by Amazon. What I did see was that they would match any store price guaranteed, such as Amazon, Walmart, etc. The manager here wasn't helpful at all. Instead of looking at the flier that is absent of any such language as to items must be shipped and sold by Amazon, he just kept repeating himself and trying to argue with me. Horrible business practice. As a business owner who orders from Office Depot very frequently, this pisses me off. No wonder so many businesses are going bankrupt because they falsely advertise stuff, and are not willing to stay up to date with the current trend and prices. It's all good. I will no longer shop for my business or personal items at Office Depot. This just conforms what I should have done long time ago. I came in wanting to print pictures for my wall and it was my first time coming in here and I didn't know how the printing services worked. Melissa and the other print specialists I think their names were "Ashley" and "Briana" were all really helpful and explained to me how it worked. While I was sending the pictures to their email, they gave me an estimate of how much the printing and cutting were going to cost. I was in and out in a timely manner and overall was happy with my experience. I'm most definitely coming back. read more

Just went to buy ink and paper. There was a young guy working in the ink section already helping people, so I went to the photo area where I see 3 employees working and I ask for help (help meaning I already know what I want, they just keep everything locked up). The girl said that the guy already helping people, and another guy already helping people were the only ones who can help me. So I stand to wait longer and then I realize a line is building at the register and there is no one even working the normal register but there are 3 people in the photo section? Pretty poorly run store if people can't even buy anything when they want to buy something. read more

Since I'm a professor around the corner from this establishment, I go here often out of convenience and have ignored the terrible customer service by the printing department and mainly their "head" Melissa. But yesterday I was given false information about how much something cost, which she didn't correct until I asked to speak to her manager. Then all of sudden she had the right information. When I asked why she didn't correct herself with me, I could have paid and been out of there, she gave me some lip about how she needed to update her manager with the new information, then rolled her eyes and kept working. So not only does the "manager" seem to not know whats going on his store, the reps are at liberty to treat customers disrespectfully, make up prices, and are not held accountable for their disparaging actions. I've also been going here long enough (by myself and with colleagues) to sense some discriminatory practices and am pursuing investigative/actions with those. Be careful about Melissa, weary about "management", and go elsewhere if you can. This location needs a people overhaul. read more

Order one item online and was shown in stock and ready to be delivered. Then received 5 confirmation numbers saying all items shipped. Even received tracking information. Then received another confirmation number and this one said item on back order. Tried calling three times. On hold for over an hour. Emailed and was told a 24 to 48 response due to COVID-19. Well it has been two weeks, no response, no order and they charged my credit card. Filed a complaint with the BBB and this is why the Office Depot and Office Max both mergered because neither can run their companies successfully. PS, ordered the same item through Staples.com and received the same item the very next day. Office Depot and Office Max could learn something from Staples. I came here a few weekends ago for a Livescan appointment and was surprised at how attentive and courteous the person working the fax/scan area was! Apparently, this location offers free breakfast to their customers (myself included) and I was eagerly urged to grab some breakfast (they had pancakes, waffles, toast, bagels, orange juice, coffee, etc). This has been my hands-down "go-to" Office Depot for the past five (5) years, and I always drive all the way across town just to give my business to this location. The print and copy staff are excellent, hospitable, personable, and professional. They are sincere about their work all the time, and I am a regular-regular. Special Kudos to Nikki, Jose, and the many others such as Briana, Astrid, and others who are no longer there, for always going the extra mile for me as a customer. I am super grateful and will always choose this branch over Staples in Brea and La Habra, and even Office Max's everywhere. It's the people. Thank you, guys. I have read the other reviews, and I understand that for others it is a hit or miss at times. Some things are not in your control, like inventory, etc. I just hope that those things get sorted out and everyone else feels the same way I do about the service. It would help if management took a better look at staffing schedules and customer assistance. The face to face service that I receive is pretty good. That does not mean everything is always perfect, it does mean that the person that is helping me is sincere in their efforts, helpful, and mostly efficient. i often stop by this store and it's always very clean, organized, and the staff are all super helpful and kind. Recently, I went in to have a small journal spiral bound. I have been to other places and this has been the best price so far.... to cut the binding and have it spiral bound. (they charge $.75 to cut.... whereas other places charge $3!!) (and of course, the price might vary a little based on the size, but the $3 quote I received was based on the small journal I wanted cut and bound). Super easy process and they did it within an hour. The journal came out perfect. Also, other places I've been to only offered one color for the spiral (black, usually) but Office Depot offers black, white, clear, navy, and maybe another color choice. The quality of the service came out great as well. I will definitely come here for all my printing and "spiral-ing" needs. :-) read more

This is a review by "some guy".... Yes, that was what I was referred to by the cashier while trying to initiate a return. I bought the wrong type of printer cartridge at another store (turns out I was one letter off on my model number, having a wireless printer isn't all it's cut out to be). I bought all original packaging and was within the 30-day refund period, so I thought I would be walking out with the correct cartridge. I was wrong like a 400-lb man in a bikini! The cashier called the manager on her two-way radio, I didn't hear the response. She simply told me I had to return the ink to the original store. A note to the douchebag manager, your corporate policy states that a return can be brought to ANY store. I didn't realize this until after the fact. Nonetheless, "some guy" will be taking his business to Staples, now and forever. read more

Whenever I visit this location, I have trouble finding assistance. To be fair, I don't like shopping and being interupted by 50 "Can I Help You's" either. But whenever I NEED someone here, there is no one to be found. I even saw a group of employees chit chatting (it was not training related) in the corner of the store, and even though I made eye contact, no one broke away to ask what I was looking for. Worst customer service here. Don't think you can get in and out quickly if you want to ship something. The counter where you ship is also the counter where you fax, get books binded, photos matted, large format printing, and all shipping for UPS and USPS. And there is usually only one or two people "working" there. I ship bikes quite often. Usually I get labels preprinted, but this time did not have one. I didn't think it would be so difficult to get one printed. I get in line and there is a pretty girl being helped by James. He takes to longest time possible to help her so he can keep talking to this pretty girl, meanwhile a line is forming behind me. He glances at me and says he doesn't know if his scale will be able to weigh my box. I tell him I've brought bikes in here before with no problem. After another few mins of talking to the pretty girl, he finally let's me know he's ready for me. That is I have to enter the info in the computer myself (note to self: wash your hands). Even though I have finished inputting the info, he helps another woman that came in after me from start to finish. Then goes to help his coworker bind some books. I've been ready and standing there ready and waiting for nearly 10 mins now. He finally comes back and asked me if i'm ready. Duh I've been ready! Now he asks his co worker to put the "TV" up on the scale bc he put out his back. OMG are you serious. So I put the 30 lb. bike up on the scale myself. And guess what? The scale CAN read the box's weight! After him giving me a quote, he then tells me the system won't let him choose UPS as the shipping company. Maybe the address is wrong? Nope. By this time I am fuming, so I walked behind the counter and took back my bike and said I will just ship it FedEx. Because James is such an idiot, I had to lift this bike more times than necessary. 1. Put in car on top of a bike going to Fed Ex bc I was going to Office Depot first. 2. Lift up on scale bc James is a wimp. 3.Take bike back and put back in car on top of the other bike yet again that's going to Fed Ex. 4. Take it back out to get the Fed Ex bike. 5. Put it back in the car so I can go inside Fed Ex. 6. Take it back out of the car once I get back to work bc now I need to retape and relabel. 7.Put back into car so I can bring to Fed Ex. 8.Take out of car again to bring to Fed Ex. I guess I can thank James for the workout. Meanwhile another worker finally comes over and helps another customer. He just needs something printed form his USB. Oh but somehow their computer can't read it? As I am leaving there is a lady waiting at checkout with a basket full of stuff! I tell her to be prepared to wait a long time for any help. If you guys have never seen Dave Chappelle's skit on Pop Copy, I strongly urge you to look it up. This was totally my experience at Office Depot. read more

I got a filing cabinet recently at this branch. Last week I had an associate help me, some big latino dude I forgot his name. Probably in his late 30s, short almost shaved head. He helped me a lot and got me to have the filing cabinet shipped to the store so they can open the box there and make sure there aren't any dents before I would have to take it home in case they had to return it for another one to their provider. THEN.... I go there a week later after I was called to let me know it had arrived. The same big dude was there behind the register. He look at me and said, "Can I help you?" I said, "Yes, I got a filing cabinet last week and had it shipped here and was told it was ready for pickup?" he put his things down and walked away into the back. I thought he went to the back to get it but he just disappeared. He totally was a 180 from last week, acting like i was totally bothering him. I stood there like an idiot waiting for him for over 15 minutes. I was already wondering "Where did he go? Is he getting my filing cabinet???" Finally this younger guy comes up after he helps someone else and asks if I've been helped. I told him the big dude went to the back after I told him I was here for my filing cabinet but he disappeared. Didn't even say if he was going to get it but that was what I assumed. This younger dude ended up helping me. Got me my filing cabinet which ended up not even being in the back, but behind the customer service counter. He brought it out to me, even opened the box to show me there weren't any dents on it, AND even helped me roll it on a large cart to my car. Dude came to the rescue. His name was Omar Cruz. Thanks man. I'm really disappointed in the big dude. Totally shocked me. Guy must be lazy as hell. They need to realize that a store like Office Depot, customer service is everything. If he's bitter about life or something, he doesn't have to take it out on me. And it was so simple of a thing to do. Seriously. He didn't even have to lift the cabinet into my car. I did that. And the thick girl behind the register who checked out my stuff (I got some filing stuff and paper too) was really nice I forgot her name too sorry! But yeah, that big dude wow. I had to dock my rating down a couple of stars for that. Omar, you're a star, dude. Do NOT get anything printed here. I used to have problems with Kinkos printing service so I thought I would give Office Depot a try. I don't want to generalize and say all Office Depots are the same, but this location definitely needs help. I called a few hours before I wanted to go in to make sure that what I had on my thumb drive (JPEG vs. PDF) was what they wanted. My intention was to make their job as easy as possible and to be in and out of there as fast as possible. However, that wasn't the case. I was told one thing in the phone, but when I went in I was asked why I had all of my documents on one pdf. The guy on the phone apparently didn't know what he was talking about, so it took them forever to try and figure out how to go about the problem. Then the person helping me decided to all of a sudden go on her break, so I was left with someone who didn't work in printing at all. He was asking me for help on what to do. Then when she finally came back, another customer had come and then the boy helping me left for lunch. I was left unattended for about 5 more minutes. Finally she have me her full attention. She was a nice girl but the process overall took almost 2 hours for a simple job. I wanted glossy card stock, but it was apparently jamming the printer so I had no choice but to get lower quality paper. Once the fliers were printed, they were cut unevenly. I expected to be given a discount or some sort of price adjustment for all of the troubles and the time I spent standing there, but nothing was done about that. Needless to say, I will not be coming back to this location to print anything again. read more

I've walked into the store, found my items, arrived at the checkout counter only to realize that there's never been a cashier standing there - would you prefer I greet myself, locate items myself and steal them? - 1 star. Self-serve copiers are more expensive and time-consuming than Staples. You have to wait for it to print to scan the next page, welcome to the 21st century where multi-tasking is mucho appreciated! It took me twice as long and cost me nearly 20% more than it should have. - 1 star. Last week, I called to ask about the possibility of printing a 3x5ft poster at their location same-day and how much it would cost. I was told it would be $60 and that I should bring it in before the end of the day so I wouldn't have to wait the whole weekend for them to ship it out since it takes 3-5 days... were you not listening when I said I needed it same-day, would that be possible? - 1 star. It's a shame the nearest Staples is in Brea, if they replaced this incompetent, poorly-service and inadequate store with Staples, they'd corner the market on lazy people such as myself who put up with such stupidity for lack of effort. Giving this location two stars just on the basis that they had the ink cartridge I needed in stock. I went in and asked an employee if they did refills or had the ink cartridge I needed. She took a look at the ink cartridge and told me to follow her. We had a brief conversation on which stores offer ink refills. We get to the aisle, she points at the one I needed and just walked away. I just thought it was sort of awkward to point at a product you are selling and walk away without making any eye-contact. At checkout another sales associate told me about their OfficeMax Rewards Program. I asked a couple questions about how it works and got some answers. I was curious because I brought my old ink cartridge and they had a sign offering 10% off when you recycle your old cartridge. Overall both employees seemed very unenthusiastic about their job and about answering any questions. At the end of the transaction, I looked at the receipt and for a second thought that I received the wrong change but then quickly realized I was reading the receipt wrong and said "Oh never mind. Sorry I misread the receipt." The response I got was a mere scoff and a blank stare. No "thank you" after purchase or "have a great day". I know it's Office Depot so I shouldn't expect much but I would expect somewhat decent customer service. Also the cartridge I bought was $7 more than Staples but since Office Depot is by my house, I stopped there instead. Definitely won't be going there again. read more

1 star for the printing dept. 5 stars for the manager of the store. There were two employees behind the counter and neither greeted me or asked if I needed help. A lady walked in minutes after me and she was helped without even a glance at me. After she left they finally asked if I had been helped. When I left I called and asked to speak to the manager, I explained my experience. He was appalled! One of the people at the printing dept was an assistant manager. He apologized and asked if there was anything he could do to fix the problem. I told him I wasn't ever going to come back to the store, but he was so sincere and said that he would talk to both of them. I went to Kinko's, Staples, and even other Office Depot stores around the area to get my workbook bound in a specific way, but all of which said they wont be able to since their machine won't let them center my book. Emily on the other hand explained to us the procedure on how the book gets bound, and even dis a test run on some blank pages to see if she was able to do so. And she was! Someone give this girl a raise or a promotion for going above and beyond compared to not only people in this store but to everyone else in a 15 mile radius. I will definitely drive all the way back to this office depot to work with her again. read more

When you walk in the store - good luck finding an associate if you have a return or need help checking out. Once I was finally able to locate someone - he refused to process my return because I did not have the original packaging. Who keeps the packaging for a keyboard longer than one week? I had the receipt and the keyboard was still wrapped in safety wrap. He said he wouldn't make the exception because his store would have to eat the $24 cost of the keyboard since it didn't have the packaging. Well news for you guy, this store lost a corporate customer that spends 10X $24 a week...all because they couldn't eat the cost of a $24 keyboard. read more

I came to this location in order to get two books that were over 1000 pages each separated at specific pages and spiral bound. I spoke with Melissa at the print station, who gave me her undivided attention in order to understand how I wanted the books done, and even heard she would do it herself instead of needing to explain it all to a coworker. She told me it should take a day to complete. To my surprise, I received a phone call that night before they closed that it was done. I came back the next day and the books were beautifully done. If I ever need printing, copying, or binding services, I will certainly come here again. read more
