I've been to this location a few times, and it's always a bit hit or miss. The selection of office supplies is solid, and I've found what I need most of the time. The store is generally clean, but the customer service could use some improvement--staff are friendly but not always very helpful or knowledgeable when you have specific questions. I came into the Office Depot in Fullerton on State College and Commenwealth @ 11:02 to get white paper and miscellaneous office supplies. When I walked in Glenn said "Hello and asked if he could help me." At the time Glenn was stocking the shelves. I then told Glenn "I simply came in for white paper 11 x 17 and 8 1/2" x 11". With that Glenn advised me of the sale on White Paper, which I took advantage of. I was not sure of purchasing the quantity of 8 1/2 x 11 paper (10) reams, the deal that Glenn recommended. Glenn did the breakdown in the cost for (1) ream vs. the (10) ream box and in that calculation, I was convinced to get the box of (10) reams of 8 1/2" x 11" paper. At 11:16, I was ready to check-out and again was helped my Glenn. Getting more paper, was Excellent Customer Service. Then when I was leaving Glenn offered to bring the box of paper to my car. On 11/16/23 around 12:50 I stopped in to buy a gift card and chose Office Max because they have a huge selection of gift cards and typically no line. I was greeted by an employee who asked if I needed help and I asked if they had Macy's gift cards. He glanced around and said no, but I looked a little more and saw they had a gift card with multiple businesses on it, including Macy's! I went to the register with the lit up shopping cart over at the print & marketing services area and waited for help. There was an Asian male employee helping customers and in front of me was an employee struggling to remove the plastic wrap off an office chair that I assume he was going to assemble. After 5 minutes, I moved over to the Asian guy's queue for help. He was helping 3 people at the same time and rang me up in between requests. I paid for my gift card and his face looked concerned and he called the manager for help. The chair commander behind him was berating him for asking for help which annoyed me because this guy wanted to make sure he didn't mess anything up. When the manager showed up he berated the this guy too until he got the same error message! The whole transaction had to be cancelled and the chair commander guy said, "Oh yeah it's because it's a third party card. It's been happening a lot." So not only did this guy think it was more important to assemble a chair than help a customer (me), he berated his coworker and at the end of it he knew this type of card was having issues. This whole ordeal should have taken 5 minutes but I spent 15 minutes there trying to sort it all out. The Asian guy was actually really polite and helpful and I would visit this store again if I knew he was running the store versus his useless co-worker and rude manager. Also, don't purchase the gift cards that are good for multiple businesses on it (see my photos) as those seem to flag an error message and not be valid. read more

This is possibly my 3rd time visiting this Office Depot. 2nd & 3rd time today was assisted by Kevin, a supervisor. Kevin is so friendly along with the other associate here, they are asking if i needed help and also locate the item for mee. Last time i picked up an online order, Kevin asked if i wanted some assistance to bring 6 big Tide detergent to my car and I definitely took him up on the offer. Today he assisted in ringing mee up. OD does price match their online store pricing. FYI Kevin price matched almost everything on my school supply shopping trip today. Was so patient: Located between Panera Bread & Thai Basil. Lots of parking available. The closest OD for us. read more

Two stars is being generous. So much I could say but I'm going to get to the real reason I'm reviewing this store. I had to use the restroom and I've seen better looking restrooms in mechanic shops and crappy gas stations. It was so disgusting. Neither the sink or toilet looked like they'd been cleaned in months, even years for the sink. The entire store was dirty. It gave me the icks just being inside. I placed an order for curbside pick up. We ordered about 10 cases of water as it was on sale. Can't be 2.99 a pack, no crv and no taxes, so we took as many as we could for our family of 10. Anyhow, upon arriving there is no sign or designated area for curbside. We parked and checked in, waiting about 15-18 minutes and no sign of anyone coming to our aide. We then walked inside and a nice cashier helped us. He stated he didn't get the notification and would check on our order. He went back about 3 different times to find our order, then he came out with it. We are so thankful for him!!! However, I do wish the customer service could be better and that there is someone who is going to come out with the correct order. This review is for the heavier set Asian with the long hair working in the printing and shipping center on Friday 12/22/23 approx 4:30 P.M....I came to drop off a FEDEX package at the print and ship center, with no one in line, I walked up right to the counter to ask about shipping out my package. And the guy without reason ask me what is in the box which I thought was a little rude on his part because why would he need to know what shipping, if he came at the the other way around and ask if my package had liquid, friables, electronics, etc etc I felt would be the more appropriate way about it. Then when I asked his question he said leave the box and he will scan it in later in which I asked I needed a receipt, and he said a receipt will take 7 minutes which is outrageous because I was the only one up the counter. But he seem to be more interested in another person who was looking questionable, guess he had a bone to pick with him or something because he was focusing on playing store cop rather then help me with a simple request. Honestly he looks miserable working there, just horrible attitude and service. read more

Had to print very important plans for the County of Orange. Got helped by a young lady named Sara. The project took awhile because the plans needed to be printed to scale at A-3 sheet of paper. The first prints kept coming out the wrong scale for some odd reason but Sara took the time making sure the scale was correct. We kept going back and forth sending emails with the builders while wasting ink and paper to get the scale correctly. After awhile we finally printed the correct scale. Was very satisfied overall that she took the time to help finish this project. Company should move this girl up to management or pay her more for the customer support. read more

Matilda Miranda the horse mouth girl at the printing section today WAS SO RUDE. I hate complaining about this stuff but I went in to just get a copy and she said just email it to me and I did and she then said something about I don't meet the requirements for her to print I said I have a discondition that makes me mentally incapable of using it and she said walked away smiling saying I DONT KNOW WHAT TO TELL YA!!! I was embarrassed because that information is private and I needed that copy and I just asked for her name without eye contact and left. I will be complaining to her corporate for this and I hope they watch the camera and not fired but maybe have more empathy for those of us who don't know how to use those machines and are to old or suffer mental challenges. Called this morn to make sure my 5 images were received.The employee couldn't guarantee they would be done in a hour and a half ,I didn't ask for a guarantee I asked if he thinks there's a chance they could possibly be done.He starts complaining he's the only one there,seems to be a ongoing problem at this location.they got one employee injured hurt his foot another quit cause of low pay and not enough help.Ods corporate please step up get them some help,you guys have had numerous snatch and grab there if people running out with product as well. Top employees there that deserve a raise Matilda,Matt,Carey who left a girl with glasses who skinny and fairly nice and helpful and once other guy with long hair.Other than that hire more employees and give the good ones you got raises. I just turned annoyed and that I did not have the receipt for the manager was not nice at all and I was going to buy the right toner which would be around $50... He told me he had a receipt. His return policy was two weeks after I just went on looked online and that is not the policy of Office Depot, I don't recommend you shop there. This Office Depot is hit or miss. The customer service is usually friendly, however, they always seem to be out of everything. There are a lot of empty shelves, and when you ask someone if they have something in the back, 95% of the time they encourage you to purchase it online which defeats the purpose of coming into the store in the first place. One positive, they are open later than their competitors. I've learned my lesson and checked online first to see if the store carried a specific item before making the trek over. In terms of pricing, I feel like they're a little bit higher than the other bix box chains, but they do have some good promotions from time to time. There's plenty of parking and with COVID-19, they encourage social distancing and provide a good amount of hand sanitizer around the store to keep things safe. read more

Real top notch service Office Depot- thanks for continuing to make life difficult**** If you need to get anything for office supplies do yourself a favor and GO TO ANY OTHER OFFICE DEPOT LOCATION OR A DIFFERENT CO THAN THIS ONE!!! They don't update their inventory properly because what shows available for pick up online is NOT what is available for pick up at the store. This has happened to me MULTIPLE times at this Office Depot and each time the employee I've dealt with has been rude and/or useless. I saw online through the website on my phone that they had no HP 62 ink available for pick up so I call and I am told that they do, indeed have the ink I need in black & tricolor respectively. When I go to the website from my computer and it says that both the hp 62 black & the hp 62 tricolor cartridge are in stock- GREAT right? NOPE - after I check out and place the order, it says it will be shipped to me even though I clicked on in store pick up/curbside delivery. I went to the store to explain what happened and to see if they can just let me grab the ink cartridges I already purchased online & just cancel the delivery as I need the ink to print stuff today/ASAP and the rep told me that I would have to buy the ink there and then go home and cancel the order. He didn't even try to see if he could do anything to help me out. I don't understand why there is always such a discrepancy in what they have available at this store and what they show available online but it's a freaking joke. I expect more professionalism and better customer service from Office Depot, especially for a long-standing loyal customer. read more

This is got to be the slowest Office Depot I've ever been to for check out. After waiting an excessive amount of time in line, the cashier started to check out my items with lackluster movements. When it came down to the payment time the cash register crashed. I now had to wait once again in line for a second cashier to ring up my two item purchase. I didn't even get an apology. read more

This Office Depot is in an amazing spot because it's near everything and I really love that, today I needed a label stamp and some printing paper and things and several people helped me and asked me if I needed anything. At the Print station, Ashley B. Who is the print specialist helped me create the print and she even explained in detail how it worked and what to do and not do with it to make it last long and she even explained how to refill the ink in the stamp. I really appreciate her going above and beyond to assist me with my questions and concerns. I will always come back to Ashley B., for now on for all my business and personal needs. Stopped in for a few items and needed help finding one item. I approached a gentleman in the furniture section, who was not with any customers, and asked him for help. Not sure if Kevin was having a rough morning or is just naturally unfriendly but he acted as if it was a bother for him to show me where the item was. He pointed to an aisle and, then, proceeded to help someone else that entered the area. When I had to ask AGAIN that he show me where the item was the other customers even said "why don't you help him...he was here first." Anyway...he finally walked me over and said he needed an item number in order to know which one it was. So...I was supposed to find it myself but Kevin, the sales associate, couldn't find it. These stores have gotten worse over the years. I came to this store by Cal State Fullerton a few days ago to purchase a few things. It seems like everything is on clearance, not enough stock on things i wanted to purchase and no customer service. I must of walked by 3 employees and no one greeted me. Wow. I just saw all the other reviews. I left here empty handed also. I only came in for particular stationary with envelopes and folders. No one to help but crickets and the one person at the register who was busy. I am almost positive I saw one person rush by when they saw I was approaching them.
