Holy hell ... this place is fantastic. I had the Halibut sandwich. Perfect all the way around. The fries are insanely incredible. Get the siracha aioli. The tartar sauce ruined tartar sauce from anywhere else. It's my new favorite sauce nationwide. The place is a little small but tastefully decorated. The woman helping me today was pretty easy on the eyes as well! Great food, great spot, great service. 5/5 I highly recommend

We stopped in for lunch on a Monday in late September. There were other diners when we arrived but it was not crowded and we were able to place our order quickly. The restaurant is small. It can only seat about 10 people. It's clean and has a welcoming feel. The food... We wanted to get the clam chowder, but they were out. So, we got a dozen raw oysters, fish tacos and a lobster roll. - The oysters had grit. It wasn't a pleasant experience to eat for $3.50 a piece. I'd go elsewhere for raw oysters. - The lobster roll was ok. It was kind of bland. We've had better. - Where they redeemed themselves a little bit was with the fish tacos. The fish was lightly fried and tender. The corn salsa and sauce complimented the fish very well.

    Hot Lobster Roll $29

With every restaurant on Mystic's Main St touting that they have the best lobster roll, and having tried my fair share of them, I have to give the title to Off the Hook. The Hot Lobster Roll was $29 and heaped with buttery lobster in a toasty, fluffy split top bun. We went for an early dinner at 5pm and although this casual eatery is small inside with limited seating, we were able to find a table, service was quick, and the bathroom was clean. Would definitely come back!

Fair price, quick service, buttery gold! We had the hot lobster rolls and order of fries! The lobster rolls come with potato chips ( not noted on menu)! Everything came out hot and delicious! Super casual atmosphere which we appreciated mid day for a quick lunch!

Excellent hot lobster roll. I was trying to find a lobster roll within mystic I could get for brunch and off the hook was one of the earliest openings (11am). The lobster was perfectly prepared and appropriately portioned and seemed to fly under the radar at least for now - no line! The bun was freshly toasted and offered the perfect crunch. They also had fresh poke if looking for a healthier option. I started the morning at a nearby pastry shop called sift and this was about 1 min walk across the street. It was the most splendid morning you could imagine. I'd highly recommend both!

Came back to CT for the week and one of the things I had to get was a lobster roll. The lobster roll here was amazing!!!

We were seated at a lovely table for two overlooking Main Street - watching people stroll by from that elevated perch behind glass felt almost cinematic. The real star of the show was the food, which is ultimately what you're there for, and it delivered. The menu offers plenty of options without being overwhelming. I started with the Crispy Pig's Head as an appetizer - a bold choice that turned out to be outstanding. For my entrée, the bucatini with seacoast mushrooms, sherry, parmesan, mushroom cream, and fine herbs was perfectly cooked, and carried a subtle but deeply flavorful sauce. And the housemade sourdough with poblano honey butter? Absolutely outstanding. To be fair, our server took a little time to warm up but found their footing and gave us everything we needed. Parking in Mystic on a busy weekend night can also be a challenge and expensive. Neither is reason enough to skip this one. Ship Wright's Daughter is exactly the kind of restaurant Mystic deserves. Don't wait for a special occasion -- just go.

The regular menu looked creative and appetizing as well. I had their daily oyster ($1.50 each), mussels ($10), and their cutie smash burger ($9). The oysters were from sixpenny on the day I attended. They were fresh and went down smoothly. The mignonette that was served with it was interesting. It seemed to have some sort of orange juice incorporated, but who knows. It was not bad. I preferred the cocktail sauce and horseradish provided. The mussels came in a coconut lemongrass broth with chili, cilantro, and lime. These were some of the freshest mussels I had in a while. It was noticeable to me from the feel and taste. The coconut lemongrass broth was a nice compliment and very flavorful. The burger was a quarter pound smash patty with cheddar cheese, umami mayo, lettuce, pickles, and white onion. This was cooked ideally to a medium-medium rare temperature. The bread was the key as it held the toppings and was of good ratio. The pickle was nicely folded and placed where it was not hanging off the burger. It was a little sweet, but not a big deal. Will I go back? Definitely.

Don't let the casual setup fool you--this place serves some seriously good seafood. With "oysters" in the name, I was surprised when I tried to order them and was told they were out. No oysters that day. But what they did have more than made up for it. The lobster roll was one of the best I've had--jam-packed with fresh lobster, served hot with butter, and absolutely delicious. Paired with a simple bag of Cape Cod chips, it was the perfect New England lunch. I also tried the clam chowder, which was the Rhode Island style. Unlike the creamy New England version or the tomato-based Manhattan style, this was a clear clam broth that really let the flavor of the fresh clams shine through. Clean, briny, and authentic. The service was friendly, the atmosphere low-key, and the food top-notch. Bottom line: Even without oysters, Mystic Oysters is worth a stop. If you're looking for authentic, fresh seafood without the tourist-trap vibe, this little shack delivers.

S & P Oyster Restaurant and Bar is a very charming and picturesque restaurant sitting on the Mystic River with indoor and outdoor seating, and photographic views of the Mystic River. Each employee is very attentive to your needs, and everyone works together as a team to assure each patron is getting quality service and a great experience. We were greeted at the entrance by the Hostess and promptly shown to a table overlooking the Mystic River. Next we were greeted by Evelina our server. She handed us menus and the daily specials and took our drink order. Upon her return to our table she went over the daily specials asked if we had any questions and if we knew what we wanted or if we needed more time. We both ordered unsweetened ice teas as we had a 2 hour drive back home. My wife and I both enjoyed a delicious bowl of New England Clam Chowder. It was creamy, rich and chock full of clams and not that pasty style you get in so many places. I ordered 6 oysters on the half shell along with 6 littlenecks on the half shell. They were very fresh, plump, juicy and tasted like the sea. I can live off these 2 mollusks. My wife ordered a Harvest Grain Bowl. It was loaded with crispy Brussel sprouts, butternut squash, roasted chickpeas, red onions, heirloom carrots, arugula, dried cranberries, toasted almonds, farro, with an apple cider vinaigrette. She loved it!!! Me being a seafood nut ordered Seafood Ambrosia. YUM, YUM & YUM!!!. It was a combination of cod, shrimp, scallops, crab, and seafood stuffing baked it an individual cast iron frying pan. It was buttery, cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. It came with a side Mystic Salad that included artisan greens, radicchio, carrots, red onion, cucumbers, celery, and a honey balsamic vinaigrette. I recommend making a reservation for both lunch and dinner as they are one of the hottest restaurants in Mystic (especially during warmer months). If you have never been here I highly recommend giving it a try, I'm sure you will be as happy and as satisfied as I have always been with S & P.

Went here with my family this year on the Tuesday after Mother's Day and I had hyped the place up based on my wonderful experience last year. I was thoroughly disappointed with the menu selections and the food. The waiter told me they change out their menu from time to time. I sure wish they hadn't because the lump crab dip was delicious but the replacement was spinach and artichoke dip. The artichokes were not blended they were chunks and it was not in a creamy sauce but dry with shredded Parmesan cheese over the top. It was awful. I didn't even eat it. I also ordered the crab cake which wasn't good. Last time I had the crab cake, it was made with chuncks of crabmeat. This time it was shredded crabmeat and a lot of breadcrumbs. My son's girlfriend and my husband both ordered mussels and they each said they were okay. My husband also ordered what we call a crab imperial dish containing different kinds of shellfish, bread crumbs, cream sauce and cheese. Our son ordered a crispy fried chicken sandwich and he said it was delicious. I tried it and it was so good. The chicken was fried light and with tasty Chilean sauce on it.

The staff members are always welcoming and the aura of the visitors -since we became a nation seem ever-present. Bravo DPI... See you soon. On a visit to Mystic, I could not wait to find a restaurant that served more seafood than I could easily settle on. Sitting in the Mystic Marriott lobby, yelp pointed us to the Captain Daniel Packer Inne. What a find. Although the building was restored in 1979, it's origin dates to 1756. Everything seems to have been preserved -including the aura. As you would expect with a building older than the signing of the Declaration of Independence, it is small in size but large in hospitality. Without reservations, we did not stand much of a chance in the upstairs dinning area, but a flight of stairs down to the pub in the cellar... and we were seated in 20 minutes. For appetizers, we had the phyllo dough lobster lollipops and an order of artichoke hearts that were resting in a light lobster sauce (the artichoke that is) that invited us to soak up what was left with the delicious homemade bread we were served. For our main course we had the halibut steak that was sitting on top of freshly mashed potatoes with a smattering of fresh corn kernels. The customer service attendants were mindful of their tables and visited at opportune times. -Not when you start to take a bite and never did we wonder where they might have gone off to. Parking was a bit of a challenge but by far worth the hunt. If you are looking for a very friendly restaurant with a historical beginning and great food... Look no further. Parking is always tricky, but we got a good spot in the lot and were very happy. The wait for the table was maybe 10 minutes which was not too bad. The waitress was very good and she took care of our water, drinks, and bread right away. The place was busy but we really were pleased with the service! I ordered the fish and chips. Most of the table ordered a steak, veggie, and mashed potatoes. Truffle fries was the appetizer that landed on my end of the table. They were not my favorite. Those who had the steak seemed happy with the meal. Both of us who had the fish and chips were not happy with the meal. We had fish and chips at Steak Loft the night before- and they did not compare. They were perfect. The order I had at Daniel Packard were heavy and filling but I was missing the light tempura batter, the crunch and soft fresh fish, and the great tartar sauce that is the standard for fish and chips! I didn't take my leftovers which is not the norm for me. I'll swing by in the winter for a pint in front of the fire no doubt, but I think another dinner is not in my future.
