Taking a mini vacation with my wife in Mystic and saw this on the side of the road and I love these type of seafood shacks. When we arrived the staff was very friendly and quick with the order. Outdoors sitting had great view but when we went it was one of the hottest day of the year with the sun beaming down hard but the dining area was a shaded area so that was a plus. The view of the river is amazing and occasionally seeing a boat passing by. We ordered the sea scallop and lobster roll and both were very fresh and amazing in taste.

918/25 - an unassuming restaurant by the water, with actual seafood and not surimi at seafood prices. It's not fancy it has picnic tables under an overhang and other others with umbrellas in the picnic table. We tried the crab cakes and the clam strips: excellent! Like they say; you can't eat ambience. They charge the same for cash or credit cards. You place your order, then they'll call your number, go back to the window and pick it up. Pretty simple.

Great casual, waterfront spot for lobster rolls and fried seafood! Sea View Snack Bar has a small, but delicious menu with outdoor seating and picnic tables by the river. The fried sea scallops are my favorite. The batter isn't thick like other restaurants and the scallops are tender and sweet. The lobster rolls are dressed in fresh dill and a little mayo, piled high on a hotdog bun. It's a perfect meal when visiting Mystic!

Sea View Snack Bar is the perfect spot for seafood with an unbeatable view. The fish was crispy on the outside, tender and flaky inside. The fries were ok. I was however slightly concerned about the tartar sauce that was sitting outside in the heat. Sitting right by the water made the whole experience awesome.

Order at the window and dine at one of the numerous picnic tables overlooking the water. The view is A+. The menu has something for everyone! The Fish and Chips plate was delicious fried flounder, yummy coleslaw and fries- probably frozen. We ordered a Lobster Roll to share, and we very much enjoyed this local traditional food. The lobster roll sauce with dill and the buttered, toasted bun really raised the bar on the lobster roll! A friend shared her fried clams, and we all agreed they were tough. The clams would not be a reorder. Service was friendly and helpful!

Adorable spot, outside picnic tables with a beautiful view and delicious clam chowder.

I got the chicken sandwich, beautiful piece of fried fish on a very inexpensive bun with I burg lettuce $10, $15 for fries and a coke. But the view. The view is awesome. The service was good. They take your order from the window and call out number over a speaker. You can hear them call you from the back too. Ice cream place shares the picnic area.

Just walk up and place your order!

For a seafood shack you can't do much better than this. A great location on the water. Wonderful views of the Mystic River. A classic....walk up and order then sit at a picnic table and wait for your number to be called. They are usually busy but everything runs like clockwork. The seafood is fresh and well prepared. There's a reason it's been around since 1976!

Clam chowder was good. Lobster was okay. Service is fast. Great place to sit and eat my the water. I would come back to try something else.

We stopped by Sea View Snack Bar for lunch on July 4th last weekend, and it was the perfect place for a summer lunch: fresh seafood, water views, tons of tables, fast service. For for our group of four, we ordered shrimp cocktail, a couple of cold lobster rolls, clam strips, onion rings, and a flounder sandwich. Everything was delicious and fresh. (FYI - If seafood isn't your thing but you're being dragged to Sea View because everyone else in your group loves seafood or because you really want to enjoy their wonderful outdoor spot, don't worry - the also have hot dogs, burgers, chicken, etc.) Open since 1976, Sea View is a classic. It's delicious and has great water views. What else could you want for lunch in Mystic?

Whole belly clam roll... yum.

Been coming here since I was a little boy... I usually stop by more for the nostalgia than the chow, but as far as clam shacks go it isn't bad

Lobster roll Fish & chips

Drove by and stopped at this seafood shack while on the way back from Rhode Island to New York, and boy are we glad we did! It fulfilled my New England seafood cravings perfectly. The fish & chips were flakey and tender on the inside while lightly crispy on the out, the clamp chowder was creamy and flavorful, and the lobster rolls were filled with so much chunky goodness with just a light mayo touch. It honestly made me want to book a future weekend trip to Mystic just to go again.

Adequate. That's about the only thing to say for the Sea View. You do get a water view, although it's a river not the sea, but really that's just par. The food tastes straight from a Sysco truck, which is disappointing considering how many seafood restaurants and distributors there are nearby. Unlike other places in the area, I didn't even get an option for grilled or fried for my scallop roll. The people seemed nice enough, but you're definitely paying tourist prices for the food, and the only upside this place has is the easy to get to location. No winding back roads or secret hideaway here. Can't say that brings me to recommend it though.

Lobster roll was very weak, small, uninteresting, not flavorful. Needs improvement. Cost too high for what they deliver.

The hostess was friendly and our server came by to take drink orders. We were waiting on a few others and that presented no problems at all. They have a great selection when it comes to brunch, breakfast items, lunch items, you name it. Also, they are flexible with orders. My wife asked for a Caesar with romaine vs kale; no problem at all. I went with the Fried Fish Sandwich. Both were excellent! You can tell the food here is local; and not brought in from any of the big national distributors. Service was friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed the inside vibe and decor. A great spot in Mystic!

Even though the patio was still opened, and most of the tables were full, there was only one person working the side of the patio were where we were seated. The waitstaff was either having a bad day or was overworked because they didn't seem too happy to be at work this day. It took a while to get drinks, which arrived after our appetizer. We tried the deviled eggs. The crunch on top was good as it added some texture and flavor to an otherwise average egg filling. For our meal, we ordered our burgers with fries, both medium, which they called rosy, I believe. The burgers arrived warm, not hot, and not cooked to our liking, as mine was definitely under. We also found them to be quite flavorless lacking seasoning. The fries were cold and soggy, but well seasoned. I have to believe part of this issue was the waitstaff being slow this day. Yes, we were outside but everything still should have arrived hot. We chose to set all this aside to get through our meal (we did not finish) as we were on a time restriction and didn't have room to send everything back or try something else. We would try this restaurant again but definitely won't be ordering a burger.

I'm a sucker for historic architecture so this is awesome. They brew their beers in house and also offer beers from other places. There also have wine and seltzers for the non beer lovers. I am a fan of sours so I had one of their sour beers (forgot the name) it was okay, it was extra sour, too sour. My husband enjoyed their IPAs. Also, we had some house made potato chips and a hot dog. Those were decent; I just wished they offered a dip for those chips! Hummus or something like that? We sat outside on a balmy June day. They had a few tables and our server was great. It's a nice spot to people watch too. Inside was large and spacious. There was a long line to the restrooms though, popular place. Overall, a cool space for some drinks and snacks; I definitely would go back and try out more food and beers.

Nothing out of this world but good enough to have a few pours before heading over to mystic pizza. Service was prompt and efficient, but not overly friendly. Where we unfortunately went wrong was eating here. Cheap fry oils and sloppy sandos that give bar food a bad reputation. I'm not sure why I expected more, but it fell short on freshness, flavor and creativity especially given today's modern brewpub scene. With a plethora of great restaurants in the area, next time I'd probably have drinks here then head to dinner elsewhere.

I ordered the pain killer drink which was so delicious and strong. Only drinks and can't order appetizers though which I was disappointed as I didn't have anything to eat prior and I started to feel my drink. Once your buzzer is called you finally get your table which they have 15 tables available. The hostess in this area escorts your party to your table. There really isn't a bad seats there. There is a separate waitress for the bar area so you have to settle your bar table before moving over to your table. The menu has a plentiful of meals to choose from. I went with the fish & chips which was a good amount of cod. Also we had the oysters to start off with. The food was very delicious. We declined with the deserts as we were full. If you haven't been to the Dog Fish Cafe you should as you won't be disappointed with the fresh seafood they serve there.
