I love Go Fish. I eat there every opportunity I get. The restaurant is gorgeous, the vibe is great, the service is friendly, and the food is bomb. Parking is never a problem. The fish is FRESH, the food is well prepared, and I haven't ordered anything that I haven't loved. The fish and chips are perfection as is the fried calamari. The lobster roll is excellent. This is a tough one for me, because I don't think I'd come back here if/when visiting... but I don't want to give them only 3 stars. The quality/freshness of the fish was great! But I believe this place to be in an identity crisis. They have a lot going on-- a sushi bar. A raw bar. An open kitchen. A regular bar. The menu is very asian inspired/themed, but the inside of the restaurant feels very beachy/east coast vibes. And the dining areas feel "thin" -- like there is a lot of open space. I got the PlayBoy Roll as a starter, and it took about 20 minutes. Which felt kind of long, given how many (little) people were in there. And I was a party of "1" ... BUT, I ate every bite of it, and it was delicious! For my entree, I got the grilled swordfish, which I really enjoyed! But again, it felt like it took too long... It came with a side of pineapple fried rice with microgreens on top (I picked off the microgreens... do they really go ontop of fried rice?), and some broccolini. I imagine that this place is (also) attempting to host large parties/banquets. Feels like they could be set up for that. I just think the entire thing needs a little refinement. read more

I have been here a couple of times for the happy hour 4-6 when the oysters are half price and freshly shucked to order. Plus there is a HR menu as well as the regular menu to choose from. The restaurant has several rooms, a bar, an open kitchen and sushi bar. The art work and blown glass display are particularly nice. Both the service and the food selections are outstanding. Five of us had a wonderful evening at Go Fish. Creative and delicious Asian and Hawaiian inspired cocktails, sushi, appetizers and entrees. I'm Japanese and live in Hawaii so I'm usually pretty critical of restaurants serving sushi and Asian/Hawaiian dishes. We enjoyed the ahi, hamachi, hotate (scallop) and hirame (flounder) sushi along with gyoza dumplings and crab rangoon wontons appetizers. The raw seafood was fresh and delicately prepared. The dumplings and wontons cooked perfectly. Each of us really enjoyed our entree selections: drunken noodles, seared scallops, lobster fried rice, shrimp & veggie skewers and the halibut special. Each were deliciously seasoned and prepared perfectly. My drunken noodles was one of the best dishes I've had this year. A wonderful blend of Asian seasonings on the seafood and rice noodles. Prices are typical for Mystic restaurants of this quality. They currently have specials every day, as well as a happy hour (pau hana) menu! Like a Phoenix rising! Even better in their new space. Some of the classics remain (that Sensei roll is fantastic!) but the new menu has some great finds. The amuse bouche crispy rice noodles are such fun and served warm. My Lobster fried rice was really good; not oily, a bit crispy, flavorful and loaded with lobster. Such a cute restaurant off the beaten path in Stonington. Stumbled upon it trying to find a not so touristy spot. When you first walk up, there are fire pits to the right of the door and a sitting area that's nice to sit at on a cool fall night. The service was excellent and everyone was very helpful. We ordered the Tokyo Nachos to start with the wine flight. We enjoyed the nachos, the portion was small but enough to get you thinking about food. I had the Asian salmon and it was delicious, especially with the house hot sauce that was super flavorful and not on the spicy side. The wine flight was cute but not for us, we only ended up liking one of the wines on the flight but they graciously allowed us to share one flight and brought us glasses to split the flight. Came here for lunch the other day with the family as we were visiting Mystic. The restaurant is conveniently located in old Mystic next to all the shops and across from the aquarium. It is an inviting restaurant with nice seaside decor when entering. We were promptly seated in a booth when we arrived. They are doing a nice job with Covid precautions and even have built in dividers in the table areas which look quite nice (see photo) and as if they were always there. They have a children's menu with regular fare and my boys enjoyed their meals of chicken tenders and a cheeseburger. This is definitely a family friendly restaurant with many different indoor and outdoor seating options. My husband and I each got different lobster dishes and very much enjoyed them. I had the hot buttered lobster roll. It was flavored well and the lobster done nicely with just the right amount of meat. The lobster grilled cheese on sourdough was also good and full of lobster. Go Fish did no skimping on lobster here! I liked that I could choose between chips, fries, or a side salad with my roll. I opted for the salad. The only miss was the soups- they weren't bad but not great in that we would order them again. The lobster bisque had no lobster meat and the chowder while creamy lacked some flavor. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. We would definitely visit Go Fish again when in the Mystic area. I would like to come for dinner and sample some sushi next time! read more

The Honey and I decided on lunch here after seeing the wait-line at the nearby diner and declining the "fast-food" pizza option. And we were glad we did! Considering the current health issues, we opted for the seating at the bar, where we were the second of two couples dining. We were greeted promptly, ordered our beverages and our lunch and sat back to relax. I ordered the Ramen Bowl (thinking of the excellent sushi bar here, I was sure it'll be a good choice). This is really a 5 star plus plus review. Go fish is at the top of the list! It is not to often you can say a place did everything right. We had to arrange a last minute family event and had a very hard time finding a place in Mystic Ct to accommodate a large party for a very special birthday for my wife! So many places in Mystic HAD NO INTEREST in helping us out. From the first call to the end of our amazing dinner they could not have been more proactive and nice. I mean everyone from the woman who took our reservation, to the bar tender, Zack; our waiter and finally the owner was seriously so kind and helpful. The food and drinks were perfect and served in a timely manner. Everyone at the table loved their dinner and again the service was top notch. Stopped by the Mystic Village for the garlic festival this weekend. There wasn't a lot of food left so we went to Go Fish for lunch. It was busy but not chaotic. The staff had it handled and maintained their friendliness throughout the meal. The hostess took our party number and shortly we were seated. The menu was hard to choose from! It was simple and had enough options for the Gemini in me to struggle with the choices. My family of 3 went with : lobster grilled cheese and lobster bisque with a side salad, a fish and chips and a scallops with risotto. We were in awe of how fast it came out as well as how it looked and smelled. The lobster was delightful and not over powered in the grilled cheese. The lobster bisque was creamy and flavorful. The salad had a blue cheese dressing on it I requested but it definitely tasted homemade, the bleu cheese wasn't pungent but the tang was there like a slight reminder. The risotto and scallops were moist and creamy. It was seared perfectly and the scallops tasted like they had been sitting in the risotto sauce so it was a clean and simple yet delicious transition!! I had an ok experience. The employees were sweet but the food was was basic and bland. The sushi was very Americanized, the rice wasn't sticky and everything tasted fried/greasy. The server was nice but super slow and disappeared. We needed appetizer plates, new forks, water refills and we had to flag someone down. Salad and a fish sandwich. A few minutes later my chicken sandwich came out. It was raw, not slightly undercooked, there was literally a flesh color through center. The funny part is, the sandwich was cut in half so you could see the rawness. So not only the cook, expediter and server missed it. As soon as she put it in front of me, I just said look. She removed it immediately. Sorry didn't snap a pic.. Meanwhile my mother is still waiting for her burger, this took another 5 minutes. (So the first two meals already more than half way eaten) So you can't even get 4 entrees to come out at once, (fully cooked) I assume this is why we couldn't sit our whole party at one table? The burger came finally and was actually cooked MR like asked. The table pretty much finished before I got my chicken back.
