Never misses. I got the rainbow roll, alaskan roll, and 6 pc. oysters, and it's still as amazing as when I first tried this spot. Fresh fish, rice is on point (perfect texture, not too soft or hard), and presentation is awesome. The sushi special rolls came with a faux banana leaf at the bottom, and that just enhanced the experience here. Fast service, also very attentive, and the place is lit as if it were a separate world from the outside.

Amazing seafood. The flavor of the food was incredible. I'm usually very picky about my seafood, especially the boils, and this establishment did not disappoint. My Mom got the sushi combo deal and enjoyed all three of her rolls. It also came out so fast we were questioning if the food was actually ours! Usually when a restaurant knows their food is amazing they allow their customer service to slip. This doesn't apply to Mr Crab Cajun. The host was kind immediately. The waitress was pleasant, accommodating, and helpful. Other servers came to our table just to make sure we were alright! The environment was clean and welcoming. Overall amazing experience and I wish I either lived closer or a location was in my hometown.

Very fast service and tasty food. We came into this pretty starkly furnished restaurant to try the crab boil, we were pretty surprised that there was also a whole menu left over from the previous life of this restaurant as hibachi and sushi. While we didn't order any sushi, the orders from other diners did look good. We ordered crab rangoons, house special noodles, and a juicy cruise special. Prices were very reasonable and the food came quickly. Unfortunately the crab rangoons were not crispy fried, so they were pretty soft, and filled only with sweet cream cheese, no discernable crab meat or flavor. The house noodles were plentiful and well balanced between the meats and noodles. Not overly garlicky either, just enough to lend flavor. The juicy cruise special was a good size for 1 or sharing between 2 people. I got mine Mr Crab Special seasoning - mild. I might give extra mild a try next time to see if they can reduce the cayenne more. I'm a little confused by the hard boiled eggs in the crab boils, but everything was well cooked and delectable. I'm also glad there's a bucket on the table and a bib. My biggest issue with the crab boil was the lack of choice in composition. I'll still go back and give it a second go, however.

We came because we were craving Seafood Boil. We got some help from our server on picking the best things to add! The atmosphere is very chill although tad bit dated. We left super satisfied after having some Raw Oysters and almost finishing the tray of well seasoned Seafood Boil.

Not bad but did not live up to the reputation of previous reviews. Indoor decor was great! The lobster tail in my seafood boil was rubbery & tasteless, shrimp tasted good but flavor could be stronger, the clam tasted bland & it's the tiny clams from Chinese buffet rather than being the tastier bigger clams often seen from seafood boil. We chose the "all of the above" seasoning, it feels like that the food was pre boiled in water & seasoned at the last min, instead of boiled in the seasoning of choice. Food came out really fast, like 5 min fast, but overall it was lacking flavor. The waitress was nice but did not take notes & missed the appetizer that we ordered, it never came. The white fish & chips tasted great, however the fish kept falling out of the fry batter casing after I bit it open, kind of weird. I lost a piece of fish on the table that way, why would the fish not stick to the frying batter?

    Fried Catfish Basket

It's like eating at 2 restaurants at once! The service was great and the food came out very fast. The 3 rolls for $15 deal is a bargain. The sushi was absolutely delicious. We also had the catfish basket and the fish was very tasty. It came with fries that were seasoned. Also, there was a great selection of Saki which was a nice surprise. Definitely recommend, especially for the price.

There were 6 of us for brunch and none of us had been here before. The Shipwright's Daughter rivals many excellent experiences we had and surpasses most. The staff was super friendly and did everything they could to make our experience memorable. The brunch menu offers a nice assortment of options as we had one member in our party who had some eating restrictions. We started off with both raw and roasted oysters, both of which, we some of the best we have ever had. I love Shashuka. I've never had it with tomatillos. This version is now my favorite. I enjoyed the play between savory and acid. I chose my eggs to be prepared over easy expecting the yolks to add the desired richness that tomatillos can handle without overpowering their bite. What set this version apart for me was the addition of the pickled vegetables. They greatly complimented the tomatillos with their own sweetness and acidity that made for a well balanced bite. Others in our party felt similarly, that their meals were so flavorful and so well execucted that it made for a superb dining experience.

I really liked the ambiance of the space, it's quite comfortable and has a nautical aesthetic. We were sat in a cozy little corner by the window, a great spot for watching the bustling of the little seaside town. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the restaurant's offerings, noting in their introduction that the focus of the menu is on fresh local seafood, and that everything on the menu is freshly made in house. I was very eager to try a cup of the clam chowder for an appetizer since many other reviewers have said that it's some of the best they've ever tasted, and after trying it for myself I'm more than inclined to agree with them; it had a perfect consistency and excellent flavor. Boyfriend wanted the fried mozzarella so we got some of that, and that was pretty tasty as well. Boyfriend got the chicken parm sandwich for his meal and I got the fish and chips. I didn't end up trying the sandwich, but he said he liked it. My fish and chips plate was pretty good; the fish tasted just a tad under seasoned to me, however the flavorful tartar sauce helped with that and I could tell the fish itself was great quality. The hand cut fries were good, but I wasn't really a fan of the coleslaw. Overall we had a pleasant experience at The Mariner. A very good choice for fresh seafood and a relaxed vibe. I'm sure I'll be in town again at some point; if I come back to The Mariner, I'll make a point to get a bowl of the clam chowder instead of a cup, because that alone is absolutely worth returning for... but until then, I'll be dreaming about it.

You do have the option of sitting at a countertop with six bar stools. You order your food at the counter and then they bring it to you. The menu is quite large for such a small place. The lobster roll was 4 ounces of lobster on a brioche roll. We eat it hot and it was delicious! The bun makes the roll a little larger than what it appears in the photo. It was accompanied with a bag of potato chips. Very pricey at $29. But the soft roll the tender lobster and the hot butter made it overall worth the price. I would give this place 4.5 stars. There was a strong garlic flavor on one of the components, and the rice wasn't very good in my opinion. The mini corn dogs were another hit though -- little hot dogs coated in cornmeal batter on sticks. Simple but fun to eat. Overall, definitely worth trying, especially for the tacos!

Paired with a simple bag of Cape Cod chips, it was the perfect New England lunch. I also tried the clam chowder, which was the Rhode Island style. Unlike the creamy New England version or the tomato-based Manhattan style, this was a clear clam broth that really let the flavor of the fresh clams shine through. Clean, briny, and authentic.
