I have gone a few times over the past year, and have felt the same dissatisfaction each time. With the scarce options in Gresham for games, I felt I should give them a couple chances. The video game selection is meek if that. With the most variety for new gen consoles XB S/X and PS5 (This would be fine if they didn't price things as badly). The sections for "retro" games are pitiful, with laughable selections. Any game you came in hoping to find, they've either priced it way too high in the glass case, or they don't have it. Serious price gouging overall, this can't be stated enough. It feels like a basement selection of games that nobody wants, or everyone already has. They even offer games that no longer have online services, rendering them useless to the buyer, at the same price as when these games released 5+ years ago. Do those games come with a warning before or after you buy them? At one point I was on the look out for an original Wii controller, when I called the store I got such vague answers. "We might have them" or a long sales pitch on their off branded Wii controllers sold in store (surprise! They are horrible quality and barely catch a read on the sensor bar) Surely they know the quality of these second market controllers they are selling/ promoting? Just a waste of money and time. The main attraction of this store seems to be the tabletop gaming. They have many events during the week, and I think that is helping with the overall traction of people going in and out of the place. It can't be their prices or selection! I truly think this place would be better off just pivoting to exclusively tabletop games, or AT LEAST take "retro" out of the name. Either way- if you're looking for retro games, don't waste your time here.

Thanks for admitting to your price gouging. I'd never support this kind of business. You know…read moreexactly what we were told on the phone 4 days prior to making our trip. Read what you wrote. You want us to call before we made the drive? We left at 8am to make it there by 12. You open at 11. My husband did call you Thursday and you did confirm you still had it in stock and he did not ask the price AGAIN because you had already told him. Now with his interest and him telling you that was a great price and he couldn't find it anywhere else, you took it "off the shelf" for repricing. That's price gouging. You knew you could make an extra $100 so you pulled it and marked it up. That's shitty on your end. Karma comes full circle. I wouldn't disappoint my children so I went ahead and bought it for them. Like I said. Take our money, take the sale. In return you can have a shitty review for your shitty customer service front and back end. Pro Tip: if you order any food or drink, you can rent out any game they have on the rental shelfs for free. The have a variety of two player games, party games, strategy games, card canes, etc to rent. All the way from easy games for kids to challenging games for more demanding games. The staff at the rental counter and the cafe were the friendliest and gave excellent recommendations in games. The games they have for sale cover many popular choices but also lesser known games. They also sell gaming accessories such as D100 dice!!! Oh my! The cafe even has a 3D printed dice tower if you want to choose the fate of your food order. lol! There is limited alcohol here and the food is mostly snacks, but they do have sliders and chicken tenders, pop, liquid death, a couple of canned alcoholic drinks. For a whopping $12 I spent on food, I got to try 4 games, and.....it was karaoke night and we sang songs with random strangers in the specially reservable room they had. You could select the songs on the machine or through an app. They could use a little more variety in the song list that have but a lot of the popular suns are there. I can't wait to go back and try some more games. Parking was street parking and a little challenging but there are side streets too with street parking. The store itself had super modern and clean look, games well displayed, and nice and air conditioned on a warm day. Even the bathrooms have some hygiene products and are unisex! Oh yeah did I mention that are open late. 1am on a Friday night. I would seriously recommend this place to anyone!

An absolute must-visit if you like board games, card games, or tabletop gaming in any form…read more My friend and I have a tradition that anytime we travel, we hit up a good board game store and grab a small portable game for road trips. The selection here is massive and incredibly well organized, with something for everyone from casual players to serious hobbyists. There's also a big game room and playroom in the back that seemed to have some games and tournaments going on I loved the demo tables -- such a smart way to actually try games before buying -- and the staff were genuinely friendly and knowledgeable without being pushy. It's the kind of store you plan to pop into briefly and end up staying for an hour (almost).

Wandered into the store because I needed to kill some time before my lunch reservation at Paper Bridge. The store is so big, so spacious, and so well organized! There are so many different types of games, puzzles, cards, die, mini figures, etc. I loved wandering around and would get excited when I finally recognized a game I knew. There's a gaming section in the back which seems like such a nice option for people to try games they don't own. Staff were friendly, bathrooms were clean, and prices are absolutely reasonable (so I left with a couple party games).

What I expected to be another simple evening of trading card negotiations ended up being pretty…read moredisappointing. I've supported this shop for a long time, and they've supported my passion for the Pokémon TCG. I can literally see cards I once traded in sitting in their binders and display cases. But reflecting on my most recent visit, there are two issues that really stand out. 1. Trade-In and Cash Value Are Low The percentages they offer for both cash and trade are noticeably lower than other shops. A competitor priced the same cards roughly 30% higher--the only reason I didn't go with them that day was because their cash flow was low and they couldn't pay out at the time. That discrepancy alone is frustrating. 2. Staffing & Negotiation Have Become Inconsistent In the past, staff have always treated me respectfully. They weren't rude this time either, but historically they've been fair with negotiation--occasionally offering a small discount or working closer to market value. This time, that didn't happen. They insisted on giving "market value" for just one card and then even less percentage for the rest. I asked for around 40%, and we eventually agreed on a deal involving a $10 card. But at the last minute, I was pressured into dropping the deal by another ~5% "so everyone's happy." The truth is, I wasn't -- especially considering I was already accepting a lower percentage just to make the deal work. If I'm a regular customer, I don't expect special treatment, but I do expect fair negotiation. I wasn't even met in the middle at 35% on a $220 value. Bottom Line: If you're looking for a solid selection of cards and okay pricing, this shop is fine. But if you're interested in selling or trading, I'd strongly recommend going elsewhere. Unfortunately, the stereotype about some hobby shops being cut-throat with trade-ins feels pretty accurate here.
