There's fewer tables than I was expecting. I was also surprised they had all the windows painted over so there's no natural light in the joint! Once we arrived inside, we were greeted warmly by the employees and they kindly instructed us to let them if we had any questions. My boyfriend and I first looked at their menu to see what they had and I love how their menu is themed! They also have lots of pastries both savory and sweet. I got their blackberry Faywild soda (their take on a Italian soda) and pumpkin pie macaron which was tart and delightful. My boyfriend got their white chocolate mocha was he was very pleased with, and he was browsing their TCGs and board games. They have plenty of tables and chairs to enjoy your drinks, snacks or to play board games. There is a lighted faux tree inside that extends to the ceiling w/characters in the branches. Various parts of the store is decorated with gnomes. Check out my photo of one in karate gear and pose. The backyard and patio area is decorated even more gnomes and wildlife. Customer service is helpful and polite. Street parking was fine on a Friday holiday. A delightful shop overall. 4 stars!

R&B made it clear that not only were there a ton of gamers in the area whose needs weren't being addressed whatsoever, but that a knowledgeable staff and a stable space were all that was needed to give that community a home. Also, to be so inclusive of women that my longtime gamer buddy's wife was stunned when she walked in and was not only one of several women in the building, but the only one not actively buying or playing... that's how you start to need double the space. I'll admit, I don't like seeing this place go and I'm not a fan of the trend I'm seeing. We lost the town's only bookstore to Beaverton. Retro Game Store's gaming club and Gongali also moved from west of 185th to Beaverton. If Hillsboro and Forest Grove can't find the space for businesses like these--the ones that actually build communities, create third spaces, and encourage people here to join in and become part of something--they're going to keep losing both business and interest to Beaverton, Portland, and other places that are generally more encouraging. Thank you for my cherished copy of King of Tokyo, more Warhammer gifts than I likely should've purchased my friend, and all of the hours you set up shop for your regulars and newcomers. You're some of the good guys in Downtown Hillsboro, and the place will be less welcoming in your absence.

I just went there again this morning looking for Sea Monkey (Krill) aquariums for the kids and they had three different types! I couldn't find them anywhere else in town except BiMart, which only had 1 type. The price was essentially the same as BiMart, with a much better selection. Given the choice to spend my money at a small locally owned business, I'll choose the small business every time.
