I was stuck between the kimchi pork grilled cheese and the spicy pork belly plate. Both were very unique dishes for a VA bbq restaurant. I ended up ordering the spicy pork belly plate. I wasn't expecting too much out of this but DAMN it was amazing! Each piece of pork was tender and had the perfect ratio of fat to meat. I didn't need any sauce because the pork had plenty! I'm so glad it came with steamed rice and Furikake. It really helped to absorb some of that powerful sauce. The kimchi was mild in that it wasn't as fermented as many I've had before but it was super crunchy and delicious. It helped cut the fattiness of the pork. The mac and cheese was THICK. It was a good mac and cheese. I couldn't finish it because I was stuffed. My fiancé was happy to help. He got the beef, bacon, and cheddar sandwich. He said with the "Smokers on Fire" sauce on it, it was one of the best beef sandwiches he's had. I tried a bite with the Spicy Pineapple sauce. It had me making plans to return. You can also get staples such as mac and cheese, baked beans, pulled pork, spareribs, and half smoke sausage. We've been quite a few times with friends, and the food has never disappointed. It's made to order and comes out at the right temperature in massive portions! My personal favorite is the spicy pork belly plate with seasoned rice and macaroni carrot salad. Reminds me of being back in Hawaii. You order at the Odd BBQ window inside Ono and pay separately than your Ono tab. They'll give you a buzzer to let you know when your food is ready. My new go to place for barbecue in this area? You may not see the Odd BBQ signs, but it's located inside the Ono Brewery. The pork belly and the pork ribs plates were amazing. For sides, the ginger coleslaw and regular coleslaw were good. Side rice is amazing. However, the mac and cheese and cheddar biscuit were okay. Located behind an office building, so it's away from the main drag. Overall an odd space inside. Terrible lighting at night but lots of windows so it must be better during the day. The tables pushed up against benches along the perimeter, and there is some odd spacing around the self serve taps. But, they have some outdoor but under a cover seating which is nice. Met a group of friends at Odd BBQ for lunch. I had a little trouble finding this place because I didn't realize this BBQ joint is inside the Ono Brewery. The ambiance is causal and relaxing. There are several tables and you help yourself to them. Outdoor seating is also available. You order your food at the counter and get a pager to let you know when your food is ready. I ordered the spicy pork belly plate with honey mustard potato salad and classic coleslaw as my two sides. My food was ready about 15 minutes later. The spicy pork belly was tender and flavorful. It was not too spicy. The sides were good too. My friends ordered pork belly sandwich, chopped beef plate, and pork belly plate. They liked the plates but one of them didn't like the sandwich. We got a spare rib plate, pork belly plate, and chili w/ cheddar and onions. Each plate comes with two sides, we got kimchi and Mac and cheese on one and potato salad and cheddar biscuit for the other. The meat was seasoned really well and not dry at all. The sides were also delicious and paired well with the meat and the portions were great. They also had a self service sauce bar which was convenient to use. Biscuit was huge and tasted almost like a cheddar bay biscuit from Red Lobster. The pimento was ok, I didn't get too much flavor from it, tasted like a normal cheese dip. The spicy pork belly plate had a lot of meat and used a good amount of Gochujang. I love how they seasoned their rice with a glaze and furikake. Mac salad didn't have too much Mayo which was a huge plus. The kimchi was pretty standard but good. If you're hungry in Ono, this is definitely what you need to compliment their beers.
