This is a great place for lunch. I really like that there is something for everybody. My husband really likes fried chicken. He thought it was delicious. I tasted it, and the check is crispy and very moist. I had the bibimbop and it was very good too. I would have liked a few more banchan choices (I know, the bibimbop has all kinds of good stuff in there), but I would have liked something more than daikon, fishcakes. and napa cabbage kimchee. I guess I'm spoiled by other Korean restaurants. Service is very good, and we were there towards the end of lunch. We never felt rushed. I'd like to go back to try more. read more

When I saw this place, I got really excited because I was starving and I love katsu. I had high hopes for this place and wasn't disappointed. I got the chicken katsu and the fried chicken. The chicken katsu was actually done really well! My favorite part about the katsu was how crispy the breading was. Although it was on the thicker side, it was fine because the chicken was also cut thick. The chicken was also super juicy, and something else to note was that it wasn't super greasy. Most places that make it really crispy also make it really oily - not this place. Because it wasn't very oily, it also made it seem much lighter. The fried chicken was also really good. Although I wouldn't say that the skin was as crispy as I would like it, the chicken inside was some of the juiciest and most flavorful chicken I've ever had. The skin was really thin and light, but if they got it a little bit crispier, that would have made it so much better. Overall I really liked this place because the food comes out quick, is good quality, and tastes amazing. I definitely would want to come back. read more

The portion was generous and for those who are worried about it being spicy, it's not. The down side ... Odagada is known for their chicken wings and it was a plain disappointment. You order the chicken wings and there is NO flavor on the chicken wings itself. You have to dip it into the sauces, one is sweet, another is sweet/sour/"spicy", and another is more garlicy? Quite frankly, all the sauces just tasted like off version of soy sauce. Chicken!! I don't think I'll ever need to go to KFC for friend chicken from now on. With a meal of fried chicken, kimbap and kimchi fried rice... I'm just missing a K-drama to watch while eating. The chicken's always seasoned nicely & meat's moist with each bite. You don't ever get a mouth full of oil either. Well, every time that I've had fried chicken from here, in restaurant or to-go, it's been delicious! Each chicken order comes with sauce, garlic soy is my favorite. I also love that you get the choice of wings or drumsticks, I prefer drumsticks while my bf likes wings... both are happy (sometimes the wings are small drumsticks though, which I find kinda funny haha)! We came here pretty often but this time round, the chicken looked re fried, it's dark and oily and the tofu soup also taste diluted. The Kimchi fried rice had hardly any spam in there. My roommate was craving ramen, and wanted to go to Osaka. I wasn't feeling that, so I talked him out of it when I noticed that ramen was available on the Odagada menu. We were a little disappointed when we noticed that the ramen did not have any type of meats with it. We asked the server, if we could add some meat like Bulogi, and he replied with they could but wouldn't recommend it because it wouldn't compliment it well. My room mate and I decided to not get meat, and just share the cheese pork katsu. IT WAS A GREAT CHOICE!!! By far best pork katsu we've ever had, and we slurpped the ramen to the end! Korean Fried Chicken, something we have in the south bay but now available in the Tri valley area. A nice addition we don't see much is the katsu. Pork Katsu - nice juicy pork with a good crispy crunch from the breading. The katsu has a nice vinegar taste to it. Fried Chicken - Decent size, smaller than crazy KFC sizes, but much bigger than wingstop. A good crunch and the spicy sauce is a great balance of spicy and sweet. My coworker that's never tried it loved the balance (but could be more spicy). Good food. Decent price. Decent service. If you're looking for fried chicken, this is the place. I've been here multiple times especially when craving for fried chicken and I haven't been disappointed. The chicken has been pretty consistent, not too dry, not too greasy, meat thoroughly cooked- peels off the bone nicely- and skin crispy. A little bit more sauce would be great, but it's good even with minimal sauce. I can't say much for the other dishes. I've tried things like the kimchi fried rice, or the pork katsu (which comes in one of their combos), and they weren't bad, but not really something to rave about either. Price is on par with most places, and service is hit or miss. They're generally pretty good, but there's been a few times where we would wave someone down. They do give a salad and the pickled radishes; they give a fair amount of the latter but it's not very pickle-y. This place took over for a couple of doomed Pho restaurants and so far is on the same path. The service along with the food is bad. As a Korean American, I can confidently say that Odagada is my favorite korean fried chicken spot. The chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. I'd also say the quality of the meat that they use does not compare to other spots. Their glazed chicken is also delicious, and if it's not spicy enough for you, you can request to make it extra spicy. Their service is good, typical casual asian food service scene. Their other dishes, such as the omurice and tuna kimbap are tasty and stay true to the nostalgic flavor of korean food. And what's a Korean fried chicken place without cheap beer? :) The place is definitely popular on the weekends. Mostly Koreans but definitely some non Koreans. Most people come here for the chicken it seemed, but a lot of folks orders the curry rice and tonkatsu. We ordered the half fried chix and half house special. The coating on the regular chicken has a slight bit of sweetness and was hot when we got it. Oh definitely you'll be waiting for the food because it's made to order. Hopefully you ordered a beer to kill the wait time. The special sauce is very sweet and has a great flavor. Sort of like sweet n sour sauce at a typical Chinese restaurant but better. This is our go-to place for Korean food in the neighborhood. Why you may ask? We go here because we enjoy the seafood pancake! It is fried to a nice texture (not soggy and not too crispy) and the sauce is great. The items we usually order are whole chicken pieces with Odagada mild sauce, chicken katsu with house sauce, kimchee fried rice, and japchae. We have tried other items, but we seem to gravitate to these. The kimchee fried rice has a sunny side up egg on top and can be a little too spicy for the kids. Bulgogi( lunch)- one of the worst bulgogi plates I've ever had. Meat was super dry and unflavorful. Portions were tiny and expensive for what you get. I had to go somewhere else to get a second lunch . Short ribs- 13 dollars for five small pieces of short run and barely any rice. Meat was tender and tasted good, although not the best galbi I've had. Was still hungry after. Service is also really slow and we didn't receive water until the food came despite reminding the waiter . I was really looking forward to this place because I was craving fried chicken. The hostess was really really nice and kept checking in with us as we were waiting for a table. She was generous the entire night and paid attention to all the tables inside the restaurant. We ordered the #2 which was a whole chicken cut up and fried dressed a Korean spicy sauce. Although the chicken was super moist and had a great texture/crunch, the sauce fell really flat for me. It wasn't spicy enough and it was way sweeter than I expected. It didn't go well with the oily chicken. If you like the sweeter side of sauces then you'll like theirs. I also tried their plain fried chicken and it was delicious but I really wish the sauces provided were better! I almost requested for ketchup.. But more importantly, I believe the chicken was cooked very very well. The kimchi fried rice was seasoned really well and it had a perfect sunny side up egg on top. The service is really great. The platter included the sliced fried pork, salad, macaroni salad, and little side dishes that included kimchi, bean sprouts, radishes, and fish cake. Totally enjoyed this platter and sides. It is big enough to share between two women. The wings and drumstick were good also with a lot of outside crunch. While the chicken pieces were definitely cooked, the meat was tough to pull off the bone. I think the chicken could be made more tender by cooking them more. This will not be a very positive review as our experience was not a good one. A shame though because we were regulars and LOVED conversing with Jean (the Mom/owner) whenever she was around. When we walked in, we were not greeted, but rather looked at funny like we were not customers and was not welcome. Brian was our server- he was not attentive, didn't ask us if we were ready to order and he never checked on us. I had to get his attention to let him know we were ready to order as well as the check. We noticed he greeted customers that were Korean, as well as his 2 female friends. Not only was he lazy, but very unprofessional. The chicken came out at a decent time, however we also ordered sides of steamed rice that never came. The chicken was not seasoned, but it was juicy- we had to ask for sauce. I prefer to go where the food is great and the service is even better. We had the plain fried chicken and it was hot and crispy, even the elders who don't normally eat fried chicken raved about it. The drumsticks and wings were cooked perfectly with a crunchy crust. The chicken by itself does not have much flavor so you would need to dip it into one of their sauces. Out of the bunch, I probably preferred the soy garlic which was thick, gooey sauce with garlic slivers but my husband liked the honey mustard. We enjoyed the kim chee fried rice.
