Finally!! ! It's about time OC has an authentic Polynesian store! If it wasn't for us driving around in lil Saigon one evening, we wouldn't have ever known about this place. OCI Polynesian Store is definitely a hidden gem. The first time my hubby saw this place, it was closed & we made note of it to check it out when it was open. Today was the day! We were driving down Garden Grove Blvd & the open sign was on. The entrance is a one way only so don't make a left into the first entrance! We parked & what a cute family owned store inside. There was goodies I have never heard of or seen before - specialty hard to find items I know that came from the Islands. Watties Spaghetti, Fiji Ocean Mackerel, Bongos, Fiji UFO's & lets not forget about the home cooked goods this place has to offer ! Besides food, you can pick up sarong, jewelry, 676 snapbacks, & other items. We met uso Mu & Cathy, the owners. They were the absolute sweetest ! My hubby is part Polynesian & I can't get over how warm & welcoming we were treated. We felt like family ! Such generous people. Much love to this store ! Please stop by & show your support to local businesses ! We will be sure to return ! Fa'afetai tele lava !

Up and coming Polynesian store in Garden Grove. Tucked in a small shopping center, it is easy to miss. We happened to avoid the 22 Freeway while driving home from The Block in Orange and took Garden Grove Blvd. The Galway light stopped us and husband looked to our right and saw OCI Polynesian Store. We went through the green and had to do a U-turn. There is ample parking in the back of the building. When we entered, husband went straight for the right corner of the store, where he immediately saw panipopo and palusami. He HAD to get those. To the left was a jewelry case of wooden or coconut handcrafted Polynesian earrings, and ie lavalavas. Husband was in Heaven. The whole time we have been in the mainland we have not been to a Poly-specific store. It was always an Asian market that had a few Polynesian foods. They have taro and leaves if you like to make your own homemade foods. I included a picture of me, husband, and one of the store owners. She helped me pick out earrings.

Mini Size Pineapple Pies and German Buns

My first time ordering the pineapple pies and German buns from OCI and they were absolutely delicious. The mini size pies were much bigger than the mini size I was expecting so I was very excited about that. The service was very professional and Kathy even delivered to goods to our chapel. The presentation of the pies made my husband drool in the parking lot. Tasty and beautiful Kathy and Mua are very friendly and helpful in store and via telephone. Now placing our orders once a month with them for my husband's class. Thank you OCI Polynesian Store

Great Polynesian food. Great service. The palusami could use a mirror more coconut milk.

So, I bought a 1/4 sheet cake for my husband's birthday on purpose because I wanted leftovers!!! The fruit is fresh and plentiful. The cake has two regular cake layers, one layer of crispy pastry and a pudding layer all surrounded by delicious (not too sweet) fresh whipped cream)... This is my favorite kind of cake and if you'll compare the Yelp ratings on other bakeries who also sell a similar type cake, Long Phung Bakery wins!! They make them fresh daily and you can normally just walk in to get one, but call ahead to reserve!

It seems a bit messy, or maybe they need a bigger shop. Step further into the shop and there it is, the case of cakes! The case itself is old and the window to view the cakes is not clear, seems foggy. Hard to see the cakes. But with all the hype about this bakery on social media, I had to try it The Fruit Cakes are unique with fresh fruit not glazed or jam. Big bite size strawberries, mango, kiwi, grapes, pineapple with a thin layer of sponge cake, layers of crunchy phyllo and whipped cream. The smallest cake is a 1/4 sheet which cost $45. With all the fruit on top, it made it challenging to slice nice looking dessert slices. Super yummy, I can understand why people are making reels about this place on social media. It's a winner. Friendly service, accommodating and responsive to our needs. We requested no kiwi due to one allergy to it and they make it within 10 minutes.

Anyone I've offered a Manmi cream puff to agrees with me. Cream puffs are 75 cents each. They're big and are generously filled with a custard cream. The pastry bit itself is fluffy and not too dense, unlike other puffs I've had. It's not too sweet, and if I don't watch myself, I'd easily eat a shameful amount of them in a single sitting. I usually pay in cash, but you can pay with card (except American Express) if you're okay with a small processing fee. There isn't much seating in the bakery, but there are a couple of chairs and tables to the left. From my experience, people usually just come and go. Service is standard and relatively friendly. 100/10 would recommend.

They sell by 75 cents each which is good. Parking a little tight but if you go on weekday it's not too bad. The lady who greeted me wasn't too friendly she literally started me down and looked like she just wanted to rush me out. Also guys they take cash only but if card use they charge $1 fee. So she took my order and went next door to charge my card but I didn't know next door was a coffee place guess they link together. Funny thing was she didn't smile and the man who came after me she greeted him with a smile because they are of the same ethnicity. Language wasn't an issue here but to stare at customer like that I'm not coming back there ever again. Even though the cream puffs were so good very soft and not too sweet. I always go by first experience and impression. I will be looking forward other bakery's in Garden Grove.
