The facilities are very new and nice. However, it can get insanely crowded, so maybe choose to come on an off day. We went for laser tag. Pros: we enjoyed that you can choose a player name so that you know exactly what your score is. Cons: Most of us in our party agreed that we prefer the laser tag place in Lacey. Less people and game rules aren't as complicated there. We didn't like the idea of having to go back to the "base" to get more shots, it meant that there's was a lot of back and forth, and made it hard to go upstairs. The ramp to get upstairs is also pretty long. So it's not an easy thing to get up there while being an open target. And finally, they let their employees play while a game is going on. Ok, not that big of a deal if that's how management wants to run things. But they're employees, specifically Ryan, don't follow their own rules. So that was disappointing. Overall, if you are on the Tacoma side of the bridge, just go the the laser tag in Lacey. read more

This place was nice, but heads up make a reservation or they will stick you in a poor lane. The bowling was nice but they put us next to a crowed family, and they over ran our lane. It was last minute but I did not expect to be bombarded by a group next to us that was bigger than just me and my spouse. We participated in the arcade, laser tag and top golf. The arcade had a wide array of games. The laser tag facility is two stories and far more advanced and physically exhausting than we thought it would be (in a good way). Duckpin bowling on the peninsula?!?! Goodness it's been years since I've played back on the east coast as a kid and I was excited to introduce this arguably dying sport to my family. The game is nothing like bowling so be prepared to be beyond frustrated and to laugh so hard you may pee yourself. Kids can throw as well as any adult and the best way to improve your accuracy is to have a beer ;) If you come to Ocean5 for nothing else, let it be to experience the only duckpin lanes in Washington state. Now back to the review - We made a reservation in advance for a group of 12 for 7:30 on a Friday night, everything went smoothly and the staff regularly came by to check on us for food, drinks or technical difficulties with the game. After bowling it was time to hit the arcade. Activities are pricey for a night out but you're getting WAY more in cleanliness and class than your average bowling alley or Chucky Cheese for a special event or large group plus there's a wide range of activities to entertain the whole family. That being said, they do cater to a more adult scene similar to Dave and Busters, children under 16 are required to be accompanied by an adult and the arcade is 18+ after 10pm. Pro tip - make sure to check Groupon. The best part about Ocean5 is their environmental stewardship. Hop on over to their About Us page to read about how Ocean5 is 40% more efficient than a typical building of it's size, with an energy savings equivalent to 36 typical homes! Their carpet tiles are made of recycled commercial fishing nets, dining tables and decor are made of reclaimed wood and all interior alder wood was sourced within 100 miles of the site. Sadly there was a misunderstanding when booking for a bowling lane, not any of the employees fault at all what so ever. There was a glitch in the online booking. However, Amy couldn't have made us feel more welcomed than she did to accommodate for the websites mishap. Her customer service skills were top notch and I don't think I've ever been treated so well by an employee in my entire life. Amy was absolutely incredible and made sure we had a blast during our visit after traveling over an hour to experience what Ocean5 has to offer. She checked on us continuously to reassure we could come to her about ANYTHING. We will be back and will most likely call to book and make sure there aren't any problems in the future rather than depending on the website. Clean, fun and classy. Think Dave and busters for the sophisticated bunch. We originally went on a Saturday and couldn't get in (call in advance and make reservations). We returned on a Tuesday and all was well. Used a groupon deal for six people which included: hour of bowling with shoes, two flatbread pizzas, laser tag, and 200 points each person for the arcade/game area. After checking in they asked our names and shoe sizes. They set up our lane and shoes and then a bowling attendant came over and helped us select the right ball. If you are a professional bowler you may get frustrated with these lanes. They are not standard lanes or pins. The pins are on strings which is fun to watch. We just hosted our son's birthday party and had a pretty rough experience. This is our fourth party at O5 and our first bad experience. We had most of the arcade games broken including the machine to add funds to the card, the screen for laser tag was broken, we had issues with our lanes jamming and not working properly which caused a small child to pinch her finger. They bowling area was really warm and muggy. We had to give our son an extra $50 for the arcade and he left with a $1 bag of pop rocks (pretty sure points are not calculated or saved correctly). Our host was pretty much non-existent for most of the party and to top it off, we were chased out of our lane while saying bye because I guess another party was coming. The experience of Ocean5 is awesome. We've eaten here and played here many times. The bowling and servers are awesome. Very attentive. Today's experience wasn't bad but I think more attention could have been paid to customers coming in for some fun and a mention of "hey we close in 30min 45min an hour would have been nice. We Paid $50 for credits to play games. I didn't realize they were going to close while we were still playing and then all staff disappeared. No warning. When I bought my credits I think it was almost closing time. Which I didn't know was 10pm.(My fault on that) No one mentioned they'd be closing soon and with so many people there I didn't think twice they'd be closing that soon. But, the kids had a blast in the short amount of time we were there they were bummed they didn't get to spend their tickets but it gives us a reason to come back! I had been waiting for a while to get a fun activity place here in Gig Harbor, so when I found out about Ocean5 I knew I had to go. I've been many times, some events were just for birthdays or parties and some were just because we wanted to do something fun on the weekend. The arcade is pretty fun, and the system for tickets are also pretty cool. Laser tag was also fun and so was bowling. Since it's a pretty fun place, it's usually pretty crowded, especially in the "game" area. I'd recommend coming if you have kids or a big group who enjoy doing fun indoor activities. read more

Since they put a family of 5 literally right next to us & we had to share bowling balls. Family refused masks, I complained, family was spoken to TWICE, still didn't put masks on, even after they were told to. Many others didn't have masks on either. Ocean 5 used to be a reasonable night out but things have changed. $50 an hour to reserve a bowling lane. $20 basic hamburgers, $10 for a small basket of fries, know wonder the place is a ghost town. The arcade is falling on hard times as well, with many machines out of commission or malfunctioning and very few customers compared to a year ago. I am not sure if the downward turn is due to new management, profit-taking or just trying to intentionally run the place into the ground but this is not the same Ocean 5 that I used to love. read more

Ocean5 is consistently fantastic. I first visited the facility for a Work of Honor networking event and fell in love with the cheese dip. Determined to return, I used the Groupon to bring 6 of my friends and family to celebrate a birthday. Laser tag was way more fun than I ever thought it would be, the two level game arena is exciting! The arcade is clean and in good working order. Tokens, tickets, and laser tag are all done on your game card. Bowling takes reservations, it's suggested you make them. Annnd, the food. You can sit in Ocean5 and easily see the arcade and bowling alley while enjoying finely crafted food and drinks. The theme is sustainability, with the building running off of geothermal energy. Only paper towels go in the bathroom trash, they go off to the worm farm! Overall, this place is fantastic and we will definitely go back. They turned a negative night positive! We had came In last Friday during the day for bowling & games. Turns out their summer hours stopped the days before and bowling doesn't start till 3. Ok no problem, we made a reservation and we came back tonight! They can't find our reservation, that's ok they get us a new one and get us a lane within 10 Minutes. We head back, and get settled. The bumpers didn't turn on so I'm looking around for an employee. None to be found or helpful. Find one who can help- Turns our bumpers are broke. Ok. It's Wednesday. Order wine. 30 min later still no wine. Pizza arrives. No plates or napkins. We Oh well! Time to talk to a manager. Long story short- customer manager makes everything right. My wife and I went after a game watch party yesterday, and we were both a little underwhelmed. We are from Texas and had something similar called Main Event. Maybe we just had higher hopes, or it could have been just bad. The building was small. I imagined there was more in there, but I guess given Washington prices for real estate that makes sense. They only have 16ish bowling lanes, of which only half are "ten pin", additionally, all the pins are on strings, and the lanes aren't truly regulation I don't think, they seemed very short. So if you are trying to be competitive, then, don't come here. The other lanes are for duck pin bowling, or effectively small pin and small bowling balls, but this is played on the same shorter lanes. The food was pretty good and the staff nice, although one staff member I did here describe himself to the rest of the staff as a manservant. I may come back to try the laser tag and arcade, but I'm on the fence at this point. I think a lot of this is me being just generally underwhelmed from what I expected. read more

The reservation process on-line was easy. They took my credit card information on-line and when we arrived, they said they owed us a few dollars back in exchange! Not what it used to be. I have had multiple birthday parties here, always a fun time. Just recently a friend of my son had a birthday party which we helped host. The current staff was less than helpful. The new QR code order system is not intuitive at all. The tortilla chips were stale and the salsa was marinara sauce. We truly felt like an inconvenience to the staff although it was a fairly small party and were not very demanding. I have been meaning to check this place out for a couple of months and we finally made it! I saw it on Groupon, which just gave me the little extra push I needed. The Groupon was for a game of bowling, a flatbread pizza, and 200 arcade play points for 2. FYI- you do need to make reservations to bowl. So, our daughter headed off on her spring break trip and we headed out to play. This place is awesome! I love everything about it. We started out with one game of bowling and ended up playing three. We shared a delicious, fresh, flatbread pizza. Then, we headed into the arcade and played some games. The arcade is small, so perfect for a couple of adults, but I don't know that our daughter will think it is super exciting (when we go back). Either way, while we were there, we decided the restaurant, Table 47, would be the perfect place to go for Easter, so made our reservations on OpenTable. A PLACE for ALL. The best way to describe Ocean5 is a destination for all occasions. We had no idea of all the themes going on in this place. The arcade and community laser tag is great for the kids, bowling for some family time. There is perfect lounge area, bar / happy hour area in the middle of it all for adults. Curious, I wandered around and discovered corporate and conference areas on the second level, and also private event space on the main level. We ended up in Table47, the restaurant. Nice top-notch dining delightfully unexpected for a family fun center. The locally sourced ingredients prepared and presented rivals many pricey Seattle restaurants - great to have a new option. They have classic mouth-watering burgers as well as more innovative dishes I can't wait to try. The charcuterie board is the perfect starter mulling over options. My family went in on a Sunday night. It was actually busy, but didn't feel crowded. We were greeted and explained how the arcade, bowling, and laser tag worked by a friendly man. Everyone there was friend and ready to help. My daughter spent a ton of money trying for a specific stuffed animal in the claw machine and had it picked up several times only to get it further lodged in the machine. She asked an employee if he could at least move it to the middle so she could continue trying and he grabbed it for her and gave it to her. She was so delighted! We then bought my kids a game of laser tag and they had a blast! If it wasn't getting late we would have stayed! My husband and I sat in the restaurant that sits in the middle of the building. We could see where the exit of the laser tag was from where we sat so we ordered a drink and waited. Genius! The kids were hungry so they then joined us for some food. Over all the perfect family night with fun all around. The food and drinks were seriously delicious, and our waitress was knowledgeable and prompt. My only note was it was hard for us to understand where the actual entrance to the building was. There was no "Enter Here" kind of thing. read more

Celebrated my daughter's 12 birthday there this July. The staff was EXCELLENT from the front desk to the waiters and floor staff. Very attentive to the kids needs. The kids had a great time. The Food was delicious! The kids were given 10-15 minutes of practice time before their hour of bowling started. That was definitely a plus. Once our hour of bowling was completed we were moved across to a small eating area that had a party going on. The area had a beautiful fireplace in the middle creating a nice ambience, however, decreased the seating capacity. The only reason I did not give the place five stars was due to the limited space allotted for the bowling area. Upon arrival, you walk into a large reception area. To the right is a coffee bar. Continue down the hallway to the right is a restaurant. To the left is the reception desk with some offices. Directly in front of you is the staircase leading to the second floor that house rooms for banquets. I really love that they have an elevator for those with disabilities. Behind the stairs is the bowling area. With such a grand entrance I was expected the bowling area to be just as massive. That was not the case. Instead, it felt like the bowling area was a last minute add on. An afterthought of what to do with the remaining space. With a few bowling lanes that filled up quickly. There's more sitting upstairs especially if you're looking for a more quite space. Being upstairs make it difficult to monitor young kids are in the arcade room. Not a bad stop, but not my favorite. I went here for a friend's birthday. They pretty much have everything on site. We had dinner at the restaurant first. I had a flatbread with chorizo. It was pretty good. I sampled the other flatbread with Brie and it was very greasy. They had a general selection of beers and some mixed drinks. Getting our checks was a 30+ minute ordeal since we were a big group. After dinner we went bowling. It definitely tries to be "fancier" bowling, it is Gig Harbor after all. They have someone fit the ball to you, instead of just picking it out yourself. Instead of the typical set up the pins are on strings. This actually makes it difficult to bowl and knock pins over. Sometimes a middle pin would fall over but the ones in front wouldn't. Kind of weird. It was good for a big group of people. read more

Couldn't be happier with the new Ocean5 in Gig Harbor. We were greeted at the door by friendly staff who were ready to tell us all about the place. Gell gave us a tour and showed us the bowling alley, restaurant, coffee shop, laser tag arena, game area and told us all about it! There's even a ballroom and event spaces upstairs! We had dinner at the restaurant, Table 47, and the food was absolutely amazing. We had the gnocchi appetizer, the cheesesteak and the parallel burger and we enjoyed every bit of it. The burger was SO juicy and delicious. My husband and I both had their special Moscow Mule as well and it was so refreshing! I have to say that their kids menu was the best I've ever seen. Ever! Hallelujah for having more options for kids, and healthy options!! My 4 year old daughter ordered the meatloaf which was served with spaghetti and fruit, and she loved it! Not only did we enjoy the food and the ambiance, but we had the best service we've had in a long time! Paige was absolutely incredible and her impeccable knowledge of everything on the menu was so helpful. After dinner we went to play some games and loved the variety they had. There were even staff walking around helping and showing kids how to play certain games. We had tons of fun. This is the perfect spot for a good time! My family has loved this place since it "re re opened" and we come and play all the time. We drive from Silverdale to hang out. Our son loves the laser tag and we love the fact that we can play and drink while we ALL have fun! One big Negative is they serve this bomb guacamole and pork dish but ONLY one "game day". I spent 5 hours here and hated to have to go home. The experience is nothing I've experienced before. The personalization and the class put into every detail is amazing. Great fun for adults and kids. The bowling ally: Lanes are 10 ft shorter than league length and the pins are on strings. Great for quick games but not for practice. You have a lane attendant that is there to provide you anything you need drinks, food, etc. The arcade: Amazing selection and modern take on payment of games and tickets. You get a wrist band with a RFID tag in it that communicates with the game of choice and allows payment and tickets to be loaded on to it. Amazing fun and environmentally friendly. The laser tag: AWESOME. State of the art gear, clean. Arena is two stories and the coaches are hilarious and very helpful. The bar: Local brews only, good selection and again lots of class. We have always had a great experience here, until last weekend. We arrived at 5pm to learn we needed a reservation for duck pin bowling. We had attempted to make a reservation at 3pm but learned then that reservations must be made 3 hours in advance. My bad. Upom arrival, greaters quote us a 2 hour wait for duck pin bowling, and a 3 hour wait for 10 pin bowling. We reserve ourselves a spot for 7pm then go to play laser tag. Laser tag is booked until 6, so we sign up for a 6pm spot, then go to pay. They payment has changed since last time and now instead of the $15 per person per game, we need to buy a package or pay $20 per person per game. So we navigate the package process but about 10 minutes into the process the main desk calls to tell us out lane is ready. We tell them we are scheduling laser tag, and they assure us that someone will take care of moving our reservation for us. We go to the lane, which surprisingly is surrounded by 3 other vacant lanes, even though we were quoted a 2 hour wait time (which turned into a 10 minute wait time). Thats right, the lanes beside us were empty. The cool part is that are balls and shoes are waiting for us when we arrive. Well, most of them. One pair was forgotten and another pair was still dribbling wet with sanitizer spray (yay, they're clean!). After an hour of play, our attendant comes to inform us that our laser tag reservation could not be moved to 7, as promised, but was moved to 7:30. To compensate us they added some comp credits to each of our arcade bracelets (which was pretty damncool). The laser tag that was supposed to begin a 7:30 didn't start until 8pm, leaving us late for our next schedule adventure elsewhere. Overall there were ups and downs to this adventure. The ally did it's best to compensate for it's shortfalls. The food: The fried pickle appetizer is really small and not worth the price. The flat bread was pretty good, but silverware and napkins would have made it better. Much nicer than traditional bowling alley food, though! read more

We had a great time. Really nice bowling alley and arcade place, good service, nice people, decent food and yummy drinks. We had a ton of fun. I did get some hair in my food, but the server was extremely kind and made everything right in an instant. The bowling was a little bit pricey, 47$ after tax for an hour, but maybe it isn't and it's just that I haven't gone bowling in a long time lol We did notice the guys next to us kept getting their scores wrong on the screen and attendants had to keep coming and fixing their scores, good thing we weren't keeping track and aren't too competitive otherwise that would have been annoying. I love the fact that you can reserve lanes ahead of time online. That was probably my favorite part of this whole thing, getting there and not having to worry about trying to get a lane. We've been here a handful of times and have really enjoyed it, as have the kids. Due to this fact, my daughter wanted to have her 10th birthday party here. This is where Ocean5 really shined for us. The original reservations I made had to be changed due to scheduling issues with our party goers. Rescheduling was a breeze. The party planner was so helpful. We even reserved 2 extra bowling lanes for the adults since most of them wanted to hang out and play themselves. We got there and our party host, Dennis, hit the ground running. He was AMAZING! Due to the rescheduling our 2 extra lanes got lost in the mix. Dennis worked some magic, and with the approval of a very accommodating manager, put us in the private bowling suite. Literally the kids and adults 'ooo'd and aww'd' as we walked in. From there, Dennis made sure kids and adults alike were taken care of. He was energetic, entertaining, and so attentive. The kids loved him! The whole afternoon was perfect! In large part due to our fabulous party host. Sad to say, I don't think we'll ever be able to top this party.
