Super fun place for gatherings! It has activities for all ages, from bowling to laser tag to arcade. There are tones of cool hang out areas for adults to socialize over an adult beverage. The staffs were super friendly, no matter what we asked, they went out of their way to make sure we were having a great time. First Duckpin bowling experience, love the smaller balls, no need to worry about my nails :-) We had couple rounds of drinks, the beer selection was extensive, the cocktail was yummy, and the espresso was really good too. Food looked amazing but we were not hungry so just shared a flatbread. I can taste the freshness in the ingredients. Definitely want to come back and try their full menu at the restaurant. We took our two young boys here for the first time and we all had a blast! The laser tag was so much fun! The boys absolutely loved the arcade and I loved the convenience of the pre-paid wrist bands. It was so easy for my four-year-old to play the games and we didn't have to deal with quarters, which I loved. We bowled too and had appetizers - all of it was a hit. This place was actually very nice, but so expensive. I thought they would at least have some real fish in aquariums around the place. I spent almost $80 for 4 people to bowl.. the fact that shoes was an additional charge blew my mind. I feel like we definitely would of had the same amount of fun at a regular bowling alley. My family and i decided to try this place out for the first time on an early Saturday afternoon. Parking is available right out front and surprisingly it wasn't busy. We were greeted almost immediately upon walking through the door by an employee who can assist you with getting you ready for the bowling lanes. They take your info down and shoe sizes (so that it's ready at your booth by the time they check you in). You have the option between duckpin lanes (smaller bowling pins and ball) or the traditional bowling. We opted for the regular bowling. Prices are a little higher than your average bowling alley. For a party of 4 for an hour was about $55. When you're ready to be checked in, you're then introduced by several other employees (one to assist with what size bowling ball you need, another to take your order for food, and then another to host you with bowling). In my opinion that was a bit overwhelming. Now, what got my family a little bothered was 1)the pins are held up by strings 2) we realized that your game time is technically not an hour like normal places because the 5 minutes that is given for "practice time" (with no counted scores) is part of your hour. In actuality, you're given less than an hour to play customers should be given 1 hour plus 5 minutes so that everyone is able to take advantage of the full hour. 3) your time is still running when the computer screen is "initializing" for whatever reason it is. The good thing about this place is that there's a restaurant in the building, a huge laser tag area, and an arcade section. It's definitely worth the experience if you haven't tried it and the employees are extremely friendly but I wouldn't go here often just to play bowling. read more

came with my partner for a date night on a saturday. 1/12/24 @645-745 at the bar and the service couldn't have been any worse, the woman who got our drinks only brought one back and never came to talk to us again so we had to order food and my drink again with the gentleman. the woman who was supposed to be barring was just gossiping with her friend all night and didn't really pay attention to anyone else sitting at the bar. when i did get my drink from the gentleman he forgot to add soda to my mule.....? we also got to do the rock and roll bowling which was fun, no complaints there. overall experience was that the service could be much better but the environment was friendly and family oriented. read more

Terrible service, mediocre food and $60 for one round of bowling with 4 people. Nah. We sat down and no approached our table for at least 10 minutes even though there were many workers mulling about. When the waiter finally asked for our order it was 3 minutes after happy hour ended and he told us it was too late. One extra star for when the manager came over and over rides the waiter and let us order happy hour. It wasn't crowded at all but we were told we had to wait an hour and a half to bowl. Wow! What an experience!!! From top to bottom, this is an amazing place! Fun things to do - Two kinds of bowling - Duckpin & traditional & two-level laser tag. That keeps the kids happy while adults can check out the rest. I had never tried Duckpin before, but I'm hooked! Really fun smaller balls without finger holes (you can grab the whole thing in your palm) & smaller pins. I can see kids liking it as it is much more manageable & doesn't throw backs out! Food - locally sourced & very creative, but real. You can get creative "poutine-style" pork belly fries or a great burger while you play games or sit down in the Table 47 for a nice, neighborhood meal. Beautiful space with a positive vibe! Drinks - small-batch distilled spirits, creative, house made mixers & delicious recipes really put this local place on the map! Coffee - my most favorite roaster is providing one of the nicest coffee experiences here served with locally made pastries. Fundamental Coffee is a treat in of itself & when paired with a great atmosphere, it's hard to beat! Background- the carpet below your feet is made from recycled fishing nets pulled from the ocean. There is worm farm composting in the basement turning much of the waste produced here back into soil for the locally grown produce. The major appliances of the building are running off of geothermal sources coming from 3 miles below the Earth & the warm floors in the outdoor patios are equally eco friendly. The artwork is made from recycled materials & everywhere you look, there are images & stories reminding us all of the importance to care for our oceans. Nicely done Ocean 5! We were greeted by Ashley at the door and she was super helpful. She told us about the different activities we could do, gave us a quick tour, and answered all our questions. The staff are super friendly and attentive. They even got our shoes ready for us at the lane. Atmosphere is clean, trendy, and focused on the environment as well. Five stars for the bowling :) the customer service was great and food came out in a very timely manner! Prices are reasonable for the bowling and I love being able to wear my own shoes! The only downside is the space in the middle for dining, it's first come first serve which is great unless a whole soccer team takes it over for 3 hours and even takes up tables they are not actually using to take the whole space. (Not ocean 5s fault, just wish people were more considerate of others as well) a rule of time alotted at those tables would be nice if you have a large party. This place is FUN and we have already been here several times for bowling, restaurant and the arcade. I appreciate being greeted at the door and the staff has always been very nice and helpful. Whoever did the hiring did a great job as each time we go in I feel like staff truly wants you to enjoy yourself. Prices for bowling might be more than average but I think it is cool they get your ball, bring you shoes which are clean btw!...... Take your food /drink order and you just get to bowl. The arcade is fun for young and old. The restaurant has excellent food that is fresh and tasty. Super idea on weekends is to make lane and restaurant reservations. Took my son and some friends bowling for his birthday. Bowling was great! The staff was nice and pleasant. I wouldn't spend a a dime on food!! It is so frustrating how businesses are using covid as an excuse to rip consumers off. They raise prices and servings get smaller and the food gets worse. The pretzels... Looked like they came out of the microwave... They had the shrivelled up look bread gets when it's been microwaved too long and a tough texture. Plus they were extremely small. The cheese platter was the saddest looking cheese platter I have ever seen with the smallest pieces of everything and again.... The cheeses were all dried out.... And crazy expensive. The flat breads had small spatterings of cheese and toppings, but the worst was The TINIEST scoop of ice cream for $3. It wouldn't even be considered a children's scoop at Baskin and Robbins. At other local restaurants, all of the previous mentioned foods are far superior ....larger servings (Cooper's, the Hi Yu) and cheaper, so they can't blame covid and the cost of food. We were so excited to go here tonight. We came in with the sole purpose of playing laser tag but decided to let the kids play at the arcade and grab some food. That's where we went wrong. Laser tag was awesome. We had the best time. The host was great. The guys at the desk signing us up were great. Loved laser tag. The arcade is way overpriced and half the games are out of order. I spent $85 dollars on laser tag and arcade games for one adult and 3 kids. We ended up with a few pieces of candy, a keychain, and an octopus toy that broke before we even left. Now the restaurant. I work in the service industry. I'm very understanding of situations. We sat by the fire pit on your way to the bowling alley. It looked like a pretty slow night. Multiple bowling lanes were open. It took a very long time before we were greeted. We ordered drinks but after waiting for 10 minutes we decided to cancel the drinks and leave as there was no where to sit and eat except some chairs around the fire. Just then a table opened up so we took it. Damnit. Finally got the drinks. Ordered for the kids, and I got meatloaf. The kids steak was absolutely horrible. It was rough, burnt, and flavorless. We decided as a family it was the worst steak we've ever had. The chicken strips and fries were good. I will give them that. The kids fought over them. The cheese flatbread was good as well. My meatloaf was ok. Not great, not terrible, not worth ordering again. Way overpriced. I had to ask our server three times for waters for the kids. The Shirley temple had a grenadine to sprite ratio that was laughable. Looked like they used an eye dropper to infuse the grenadine into the 16oz of sprite, and it had no maraschino cherries. We had to finally wave down a manager to get ketchup after asking multiple people and never receiving said ketchup. My friend got tacos and the meat was cold. Not lukewarm, cold. He sent them back and found a manager. I'm giving 2 stars because we loved laser tag and Amy, the manager that dealt with our situation. She was very understanding and apologetic. She helped rectify the situation and gave us a gift card to come back to give it another try. She was the best part of our dining experience there. SO FUN! I go a lot and love how fun it is. Everything is fairly priced and the prizes are really good in the arcade. Laser tag is so much fun and bowling is awesome! Went to Ocean5 for RockBot Karaoke... basically karaoke with a live band supporting you rather than a DJ. It was awesome! We have been here a few times and have always had pretty good experiences. Today, the service and kindness of all the people working here, really blew me away. Jacob was our server while we bowled and he was very pleasant and on it. My family and I had non stop fun..it's a smaller arcade so u might wait a little while to play your favorite games. However the lazer tag was amazing and fun the zones are huge its fun interactive and almost any age can do it, we had 4 yrs olds, pregnant mommas and the sporty types in our group. We were served dinner and drinks while we bowled. Attentive staff. Menu was fresh, locally sourced, and leans farm to table. I really enjoyed their "Lush" cocktail with gin and grapefruit juice, and the full-size garden salad with chicken. My son had a half-salad with steak (for teens/kids you might want to sub the avocado dressing which tasted kind of pickle-y with something else). Ask for the "buttermilk" dressing - don't dare to call it "ranch" (one server, out of 5 staff in the eve, was a little haughty ("I don't have coke, I have cola", etc)The fries we sampled from the rest of our group were simply delicious. I was really excited to have a bowling alley in Gig Harbor, but Ocean5 was a disappointing experience. I can forgive some working out of glitches because they just opened. I can't forgive that the bowling alley is not a real bowling alley. The pins are on strings and constantly get tangled. When they do set up, they're out of place. There's not enough room to walk the approach, and there are no guiding arrows. I'm not a serious bowler, but the whole game was thrown off. Every other bowling alley I've been to has pretty standard dimensions and features. Ocean5 bowling is like being told you're going to play baseball and finding out it's whiffle ball instead. Here's some unsolicited advice: 1. If there's going to be a longer than expected wait, let the patron know. 2. Train your staff to recognize when a patron is unhappy and how to make it right. 3. When the equipment malfunctions, have one of the 20 staff standing around recognize it and, again, offer to make it right. Bowling was $42 an hour, and the lane malfunctioned for a total of at least 5 minutes. That's $3.50 lost. It may not seem like much, but not everyone in Gig Harbor is rich. 4. Lower your hourly prices, because the bowling is subpar. I would have liked to try the food, but I couldn't stomach spending any more money when I already paid $42 for an hour of bowling. That's the crux of it, it's just not worth it. I do want to give some credit to the young staff for the steps they took to try to make our experience a good one, even if it was futile. I've been in their position, and it is hard to please all customers. It's also not their fault that they're working with equipment that doesn't function in a mediocre bowling alley. However, managers can intervene when they know something's not working. What a missed opportunity to offer something fun to do in Gig Harbor. read more

Man, I really wanted this to be a better review. The building is amazing, the arcade looked fun and the duck pin bowling is great for younger kids. However, the wait staff was either completely uninterested, green or both. We literally had to ask for everything: menus, a drink order, a food order, silverware, condiments, refills, the bill. Just had my 10 year olds birthday party there. It was amazing, the boys had a blast. Dennis & Braydon the party hosts were outstanding they were great at keeping the kids engaged and they took care of everything. At one point Dennis even met a couple of kids that showed up late in the parking lot and escorted them to the laser tag. They truly wanted my kid to have a great time. The hosts were very enthusiastic and helpful. The pizza was delicious and the kids loved the cupcakes. My boy stated, "it was his best party ever".
