Took my 3 year old here for a birthday party! Really had a great time & came back a couple weeks later! Staff was friendly. Prices are affordable. The play area side is perfect for little ones and toddlers. They have games that are fun & easy enough for a 3 year old too. They don't allow outside food or drinks, and their selection of food/drinks isn't the best in my opinion. No French fries, which is my toddlers main source of nutrition these days lol. But we're not going here for the food. All in all this place gets 5 stars from me! read more

This is a great option in the long dark, rainy winter here in the PNW. Parking is never an issue and you just walk in and pay for the play area (they provide a bin for shoes and coats). Kids 1+ love it (depending on how much they like climbing) - with an area for "4 and under" and some ball play areas and a mini slide for littles. Odyssey 1 is kept cleaner than most places so that's a bonus and if you pay attention you can figure out where your child is. Occasionally you might have to crawl in for a lost toddler and the structures are sturdy (try not to climb in because it's not adult sized!). It can still be a little dirty but again, better than some places. Older kids might tire of the play area and go on over to the arcade side or do laser tag. Food includes pizza and drinks, and loads of people do birthday parties. I've seen adults sit and work along the side or in the seating area with tables. It's not very expensive and if your little one is under a certain height they are free with another paid entry. Adults are free. read more

I loved my experience here. Compared to a lot of places, they have a pretty large play center. And I am comparing that to many other places I have taken my son to(see my reviews) The structure on the left is for younger kids. It has a slide, a ball pit, and the tubes to crawl around in. Note, they are not standard size like the larger structure is or other places like funtastic playtorium, they are smaller. And so when I tried to climb up there to follow my 2 1/2 year old, I almost got stuck! Lol, but I am 6'1" and kind of fat, so maybe others won't have that issue. The larger structure has some unique features such as a roller slide and some obstacle course like features. I remember this place helping my toddler reach a couple of milestones with his climbing ability. Now he is closer to three and I wish so bad I could come back here, but I live up in Everett now so it's a bit of a drive. The arcade is decent. My son was a little young for it but he enjoyed a lot of it. I also won him a sponge bob monster truck with one of the machines. If you're a 90s baby who grew up in the Tacoma area, I'm so happy to report that Odyssey 1 is still THRIVING. It's so crazy to come full circle and bring my own kids here when I grew up coming to parties at this spot! I brought my daughter recently and was shocked that it literally has not changed. Sure, there's a cool arcade and laser tag, but I'm pretty sure that was still around in the 90s... The jungle gym/play area though looks EXACTLY THE SAME. So retro, so cool, and dare I say... Vintage. Prices are still pretty stuck in the past too, which I'm not complaining about. Kids under 2 are only $2.25, while older kids are still under $10 (for the jungle gym only). The climbing structures in the jungle gym are impressive. Tons of obstacle course types of areas for kids to climb and play for hours. My daughter is still pretty small and wary of other kids so she didn't venture too far, but she loved what she did explore! We're taking my son (4.5) next, and I know he's going to absolutely love this place! If you're in the Tacoma area and need to burn some toddler energy on a rainy day, this is 100% the place. read more

Great place to burn off the kids energy! There's an area where the kids can run around and ride little scooter bikes. While doing so parents can sit around and relax. Great also that there is a door next to the seating area where you can see if your child tries to leave. There's an area where you can just order food and eat and hang out. We have lived here for 10 + years and finally went to odyssey 1! We went today around 10:45am. My kids are ages 6-14 and we all enjoyed ourselves. The play area is perfect because little ones can't get out the play area without the help of an adult!! It's a nice size as well. So it's perfect for the winter months. I definitely plan to go back with my 6 & 7 year old more often. My older ones actually had fun too. The games are good enough to teens interested for about a hour. My daughter actually wanted to do the play area but it's 10 and younger unfortunately. Her little brothers really wanted to play with her in there. We didn't get to do laser tag so I will update my review when we do that. We spent a good amount of money on tokens and the play area so I didn't want to pay another $30 for Laser Tag for all of them. It's clean, GREAT customer service! Highly recommend checking it out. There isn't much to do for kids especially in the winter months so this place is great. I can see it being a lot of fun for a group of teens too. Like if you have at least 4 to play laser tag. I homeschool so we plan to come back at least twice a month during the winter months. They keep Fresh air flowing inside as well! We had a great time and my 7 year old hit the jackpot with 1000 tickets!! He got a cool Ninja toy set. read more

This review is for May 2021 (play area only). Pre Covid I would give this place 2 stars due to its cleanliness. When I took my kids today I was relieved to see that they have taken out the balls from the ball pits. The ball pit germs was a big concern for me. Everything looked wiped down and deep cleaned even inside the tunnels and foam steps. The carpets were shampoo'd! It looked new. Before, the carpet was grimy and the whole place smelled like dirty socks. You guys they took time during Covid to deep clean the place and I'm a very happy customer because of that! Check my photos. Food is 2 stars. Don't go expecting anything gourmet here. I think children 2 and under should be considered "little kids". Instead, they count 2yr olds as regular admission. Kind of a rip off because 2yr olds don't really use the whole space. Anyway, I hope they keep up the level of cleanliness. It should've been this way Pre Covid! A good place for a rainy day. An update: After going here enough times to have a better idea on the place I feel as though an update is necessary. First thing I want to clarify is prices. The play area is reasonable and the food is pretty fair in price. I did have to take a star away because of the arcade area. I found it to be pretty steep in price after playing there several times over a course of a few months. There isn't much choice for games but the biggest problem I had was with the machines and putting coins in but they would either get stuck a lot or something wouldn't work and this happened quite a few times. It wouldn't have been a problem as much if I was able to get the attention of staff but couldn't so had to take the stuck ones as a loss every time we came. The other star is for the no outside food policy. Just my own judgement and opinion that is worth the star. read more

This is a cool little spot for kids. What I like most about this establishment is the open play area for the kids. It's spacious and has all of the climbing, and tunneling that children love. The only thing that paranoias me about it is the lack of cameras. I do feel that in any space where children can run and hide or be out of sight then there needs to be cameras because there are a lot of pervs and creeps in this world (with children) who can't wait for an open opportunity to attempt something. But yes that open play area is a great idea and the kids freaking love it! The arcade game options they have are great as well but a little pricey in my opinion. Some games take 4 tokens and I honestly think that's too much, your tokens don't go far at this place so that's an important negative for me personally. The food is terrible. My nephew wanted me to buy a pizza from here so bad and I just wouldn't. I told him we would order pizza at home. I ordered fries and jalapeño poppers. It took about 20 minutes (too damn long) and the poppers were burnt. I watched them take the frozen pizza out, open it, sprinkle more cheese on top and then charge $15-17 for those pizzas that are worth no more than $2. The prizes are flat out wrong. If you don't get over 400 tickets then the most you will get are some small pieces of candy. Not my go to option for the kids, the best part is the open play in MY opinion. If you enjoy sweating your a** off, you've come to the right place! I paid $220 for the Laser Tag party package. We were very excited to celebrate my daughter's 12th birthday. We had 8 kids total. Two medium, two topping pizzas were included, but not enough to feed them. I ended up purchasing a large pizza and an extra $20 in tokens. A total of $264.15 to sweat our booties off! We were not even able to enjoy ourselves because the building was extremely hot. My poor kids were sweating, and we were all fanning ourselves with the plates. I was told they had the AC repaired, but it was not working well enough to cool the place. We were offered more drinks beyond the two pitchers offered in the package to help stay hydrated. They also offered vouchers, but I told them we will not be back. A waste of money and time, and despite enjoying time with our friends, the experience was not worth it. read more

The whole place was cleaned and well maintained, the party room came with an attendant who not only made sure our kids had pizza ect on time but also served, cleaned, decorated and made balloon animals! I finally found a good cheap laser tag place in the area. It's 15.75 for 3 games and if you take advantage of a special it can be considerably cheaper. This place is good too in that they don't belabor the pre game briefing so you can get in and play. The area is decent size and it's set up I. A way that no one place is safe from being hit from the rear so you have to keep moving to avoid ambush. The kids were so happy. This one they don't go crazy on rule enforcement so it's fun in that respect. I'll be back for sure read more

I wish this place was nicer and didn't look like it was outdated from the nineties however appearances aren't everything. My kids have a blast when we are here and I think they are reasonably priced. Besides the pizza combo. A large pizza and a pitcher of pop goes for $24 and I'm only complaining about the price and not the taste because zaa was freaking incredible. IDK what it is about kid center pizza but I thought chuck e cheese was good and Odyssey 1 was 10x better and greasier bottom line is I'd drop $20 on it again regardless of the steep price. We had our daughters party there on a Tuesday and it was magical because literally no one was there and the kids got the place all to themselves. Do not be fooled though because that place is PACKED on the weekends. A time I never will be interested in going during again. The games are fun. Odyssey 1 is more appropriate for my kids ages 2&6 than chuck e cheese so I liked that. The staff are young but helpful and friendly and parking is good. They let us keep a running tab for party goers because we weren't sure how many people were coming and we didn't want them to have to pay to come in so that was cool. They hold onto your ID and a credit card which is kind of iffy but it's locked up in the register so there's protection from patrons even if not so much the staff but whatever my identity and bank acct has been fine. Hello, We visited this location on 1/31/2023 6:30pm-9pm I brought 9 girls to play laser tag, play games and eat pizza. First the web site says: Tuesday- Girls Night! Starting at 4PM. Girls buy 1 Game at $6.85 get 1 Game Free (may share Free game with anyone. Limit one Free game) I was told it is only a friend is free so when my other girls showed up we wanted to use it on them to get a free game but was told no you have to pay at the same time. Nothing was mentioned about any of this on the web site. Also there was an older lady working the food bar and she was very rude and was not friendly at all. We come here with the girls at least once a year to have fun and we like playing laser tag here but I'm not sure we will be coming back! read more

My wife was trying to plan a birthday. Went online and it said that some rooms were available, but the website wasn't allowing her to choose the times it said was available. So, she had drive there to schedule it. When she got there she was told that they were not available. She was then told by an employee that we could use the general seating and bring in just cupcakes or a cake, even on Saturdays and Sundays. We show up and some guy tells us that we can't do that. He swears the none of his employees would have told her that. Embarrassing to him my wife points out the employee who told her and the employee admits to it. We decided to leave the cupcakes out since it was too late to schedule anything else. If I could I would give this place a zero!!! What a sh*t show!!! First off, nothing on the website says anything about people not being able to bring a cake in for a birthday party on Saturday and Sunday. We had ice cream cake with us. They said they would put it in the freezer while we were there which is the only reason why we stayed. Then we also had an in training Scottish terrier puppy with us and at first they said it was fine as long as he stayed on the floor under the table area. We thought everything was fine only to be approached 20 minutes later (after ordering food) that we couldn't have the service puppy. My sister and I both told them that we were already told that it was okay. This guy that came up is named Mick, saying he is the only manager and that he is right below the owner of the company...BS! He said if we didn't leave that he would call the cops on us. None of this would have happened if this place would answer a damn phone or return a phone call when someone leaves a message to call back, so questions could be asked!!! We ended up leaving and getting all of our money back. My sister pulled up the laws on the service animal and they wouldn't even look at it. Then my sister went to grab the cake and take it out to the car, it was melted all to hell!!! This place never put my niece's cake in the freezer and This place RUINED my niece's 4th birthday party. Because our goody bag consist microwave popcorn bags that were not popped we couldn't bring it in as if they had a microwave for the kids to pop it in at the table it something. we had the bags wrapped in plastic. I get they say no outside food or drinks brought in but I believe they are talking about like no bringing in pizzas or chicken since they have a food bar already there. The management is on a power trip and pick and choose. I missed my son opening his presents because of having to run outside every time someone was leaving. The young kid working was great but we did not leave him a tip do to the manager and we didnt want the manager to get any part of a tip. Very disappointed and will not be back!!!! It was a goody bag for goodness sake. Then when cashing out the bill the manager asks don't you want to tip..uh nope! Spent 500.00 in two hours for a birthday party and missed the most important memories of my son opening his presents due to the manager being discriminatory. We were looking for a place to hang out with my 3 year old grandson and happened upon this place. Wow! Great indoor playground with lots of tube and jumpy things, a little racetrack with scoot toys, and tons of things to explore. It isn't brand new but you can't tell because its spotless and smells fresh and clean. It was only $7 (supervising adults are free). We're here at noon so there's probably 30 kids here (all under 5) and it's pretty damn cool! Not chaotic like that one place with the giant mouse! Oh and the door to the playground is only accessible by one side so you don't have to constantly worry that your little one will escape. There's a whole other side with arcade games and it looks like they even have laser tag, but we stayed in the playground area. There's also concessions with the typical pizza, nachos, and hot dogs. Bathrooms were spotless by the way! All-in-all, this seems like a great spot for rainy day fun!!! They also have party packages...guess I know where we're going for the next birthday! read more

My daughter has great time every time we come here despite getting knocked over by children much older while she's in the 4 and under zone... We enjoy the little food court and the pizza is always good and made fresh to order. Love the watermelon slushie machine! No one ever has watermelon! We also love the churros. I do agree with some other reviewers that the place could use some cleaning. Also, a little regulating on the toddler section. There are kids going in there much bigger than what the age limit is for that area. Knocking little ones over. If parents would pay more mind to their children this place would be a lot more fun. I think Odyssey 1 should add a place for babies/ young crawlers. Also more chairs for parents to sit. It gets busy on weekends. Sometimes finding a seat in the play area is hard. We were trying to find a place for our daughter's birthday party. She has always loved going to Odyssey one so that seems like a good place. Unfortunately they were booked out for weeks. So we decided to do a party at one of their tables outside of a party room, as we had done several times in the past. Apparently, there is a rule now that is not on their website anywhere we could find, I did search a lot, and I cannot find one that said, you can only bring your own cake if it's a Monday through Friday, but on the weekends, you have to have a party room to have a cake. We didn't know this until showing up and had 12 kids coming to the party. The manager was completely unwilling to work with us. My daughter was crying. There was no way to reschedule because everybody was coming from all different directions and it was almost time for the party to start. The manager's only solution was to "take your party somewhere else then." My husband asked if we could bring it in to sing, but then took it out to the car. The manager said, I'm not willing to discuss this anymore or make any exceptions for you. So frustrating since we spent twice as much as we would if we had booked the most expensive party room. read more

I never realized the left side of this place was a huge play pen for small kids. I brought my god daughter here on a rainy day and let her play in that thing for an hour. There's a sign posted saying something about children 4 and under needed to be watched by their parents. Yea... that didn't happen. I saw kids pushing and fighting, which is normal, but a lot of that could have been prevented with some supervision. The right side of this place is an arcade. And there is a decent sized laser tag room as well. I've been here with a group of friends just for that reason alone. Pretty fun. read more

Wow this place is AMAZING, especially during the week. I spent less than $7 on 2 kids admission (ages 4 & 1), INCLUDING lunch. It was practically empty and the place is HUGE. This is the only indoor play place I've seen that's appropriate for toddlers, besides Wiggle Works (and this place is 100 times less bonkers than that!!). There are so many tunnels and climbing structures that my 4-year-old didn't even explore all of them in the 2 hours we spent there. My 1-year-old was so excited, she literally couldn't handle it, she was shaking with happiness! Lol They have a full arcade separate from the large motor area, too, and laser tag (also separate). Tables to eat at were plentiful and separate from the play area as well. Play area is fully contained and has a child-safe enterance/exit. The kids pizza was small but tasty and I wouldn't have expected it any bigger for $1.something! GREAT value. He loved it. Everything was clean and equipment was in excellent condition. Everything is padded and safe. Lots of open space to run around. Chairs along the walls for adult to sit and observe. They do allow adults into the play structures which is a huge plus. The staff was beyond incredible. I had my hands full and the owner (?) offered to help me carry my pizza and etc out to our car with us! I couldn't believe it. Pretty disappointed with the birthday package- we paid $250 for a party room and laser tag, and for some reason they had us out in the seating area, not in a room? That was not mentioned when we booked the package, that we wouldn't get a room... really loud and hard to talk to anyone without yelling. Our host was nice, but not around much. I was in on Saturday July 27th and was absolutely appalled by the poor level of managing that I witnessed by a lady with colorful hair working near the food counter. She was extremely unprofessional and yelling and swearing at another employee who was visibly upset. I can't believe what kind of person would have such a loud and angry conversation in public in front of the rest of the customers and children. I spent quite a bit of money here and am so sad to see such a poor display of management as I witnessed with her. Shame on this place for having such rude people working there. We just a birthday party there and we rented the big room and at first when nobody had shown up the hostess came to me and she stated that she had spoken with her manager and that they could take down a few things to make the bill cheaper for us. Well I thought that was so amazingly nice and thoughtful of that hostess. I cannot remember her name but she even made balloon animals for all the children when people finally started to arrive. It turned out to be a very great day. All the staff were so very friendly there which I thought was kinda strange bc u usually have 1 to 2 rude employees at any given establishment and I do believe that I had spoken with every single employee there during our 5 hour visit.
