We went to this game bar after a date on New Year's, and I was still in my designer dress from Rent The Runway (RTR) because I was absolutely not done having fun for the night--and I was looking good, if I do say so myself. This place is pretty cool. This area of town is cool in general. I enjoy walking down the street and peaking at all the places. We do love pinball, but we might have come along this place randomly. It's been busy the few times we have been, which tend to be weekend afternoons. Lot of machines available, seems like frequent tournaments are going on. According to pinball map they have 24 machines, which is pretty large compared to some places. Not so busy you can't play though, prices are comparable. It doesn't seem too claustrophobic like some places, lots of space to move around. Full bar and friendly service. Places to sit. Definitely check this out if you like pinball. The Triple Knock is not a place you got to for a barcade experience, BUT the beer is good, the ambiance is nice and cozy, and the service is friendly and helpful. The pinball machines are just a bonus! I tried their seasonal cider and a local beer - delicious! I recommend looking at the bathroom because the graffiti is hilarious and they have a cloud formation on the ceiling that changes colors. It is pretty neat and a deviation from your standard bar bathroom. read more

I work on 6th Ave and have heard of this place from many of my customers. I finally got to hangout we took my sister here for her bachelorette party and was not disappointed. We where greeted right away I told the bartender my sister wanted something kinda sweet an fruity she asked my price point ( which I appreciated) and made her a tasty drink we grabbed hot dogs from a vendor out front and stayed and played till closing time. It wasn't overly crowded I have seen the place get packed walking by so I was happy to get to experience this place with out a huge crowd. I've never been to a pinball bar before and I really liked the concept. They have a good mix of old school and new pinball machines, along with a few classic video games like Pac-Man. What I didn't like, was how many games just ate my quarters without allowing me to play. We can put a man on the moon, but we still can't figure out how to get a machine from ripping you off??? Really? That's not why I dinged this place a few stars on my rating though. That comes from the extremely disinterested bartender, who ignored me for five minutes, despite the fact there was hardly anyone at the bar around midnight. The Triple Knock is a new Pinball Arcade bar that has opened up on 6th not too terribly long ago. I did say bar...which means you need to be legal drinking age to go in here. They have a wide variety of different pinball games. Some with a more classic or basic set up and some with more elaborate set ups. I especially liked the Star Trek, the "classic" monsters pinball(exact name of the game eludes me) and a Medieval Pinball game machine. The bartender was pretty nice. No complaints there. The bar seems to be more for mixed drinks. They do have beers on tap but I thought that the selection was a bit small. I really enjoyed playing the games here but a word of caution...any of the machines that may appear to be turned off...certainly don't put any quarters in it. I wasn't paying enough attention and put quarters in the Ghostbusters machine and was unable to get my quarters back. The staff seemed unwilling to get the quarters back for me so I guess you are out of luck if you do something like that on getting your money back. As far as I could tell all of the Pinball machines start off at fifty cents to start a game. Not too bad. I would indeed come back since there were several games I really enjoyed. Never have been to Tacoma until last week. Was told 6th Ave was the place to go but I'm not sure about that now. Went to busy body and that place sucked. The building is decrepit and it's like Seattle had a step brother no one wanted to talk about. The triple knock is amazing. I'm not a pinball fan but this place made me one. I showed up right when there was a shift change during a tournament but Geoff and Jonnie were so nice and made us feel like our business mattered. We hung out for a few hours and had some slushies (one of the other bartenders "boe" formulated two tasty options) and whatever drinks we ordered Jonnie knew how to make them. We went to the crown down the street, and half pint after that, but it felt vapid in comparison. I dont recommend 6th avenue or Tacoma for that matter, but if you do and have the right attitude for a good time, the triple knock is more than you deserve. read more

Popped in on this bar on a whim after walking around 6th ave the other night and was amazed by this little hidden treasure tucked away between other bars/restuarants. This bar will take you on a ​trip down memory lane with their wide variety of pinball games (as well as a few other arcade games towards the back). They have a unique selection of beers to go along with the games and is a great place for a few friends to meet up or a date! This bar is the tits!!! There's plenty of pinball to be had as well as ample seating if you and your friends want to sit and talk. The staff is wonderful and there's a drink suitable for almost any mood you might be in for. I come in every last Thursday for their women's pinball tournament in which the proceeds go to a different local charity every month - this is something that is so unique to this bar and I am proud to be a participant alongside so many other women (some even travel from different cities for it!). Fun little dive-y bar, lit by perhaps one 5-watt lightbulb plus the glows emanating from the few dozen pinball machines and video games that line the walls. The pinball machines are all in good shape, and the selection of machines is pretty diverse (if maybe a bit dated), but one thing that is not diverse is that I have so far lost every single head-to-head game of pinball I've played here...not that I'm a pinball wizard with such a supple wrist or anything like that, but sheesh, you'd think that even by the law of averages I'd accidentally have a good game. But, I suppose that means I must be in for a random hot streak at some point soon. I think all of the machines are 50 cents to play, even though some of them say 25 cents at the coin slot. Damned inflation! The selection of taps is pretty good, and they didn't mind that I brought an ice cream cone in. Triple Knock is nicely located near several other cool hangouts. I will be back here frequently and often, and I'm sure I will continue to lose both pinball games and pairs of quarters at a regular clip. read more

I've truly never experienced such a rude bartender. First off it's been cash only the last few times which is fine, but is inconvenient when you plan on spending your cash on the pinball Games. Then my friends ordered in front of me and there was no tip jar out and at the end of the transaction the bartender pulls this huge jar full of cash and places if right in front of my friend and says "I'll leave this here" when she doesn't tip her right away the bartender rolls her eyes, and scoffs. What was actually happening was my friend was going to the ATM to get more cash TO tip her. She kept glaring at my friend and looking her up and down. Then my friend came back and did tip her and the bitch bartender was fake nice. This place lost our business after that. read more

I've been coming to The Triple Knock ever since they opened their doors. What keeps me coming back is the community. It's one big family from the staff to the patrons. Everybody is always happy to see one another. If there's an issue with any of the machines, any one of the knowledgeable staff can come open it up for you. If it can't be fixed at the monent, it goes on the repair list and it's usually fixed within 48 hours. The techs are pros. Always clean and fun and the weekly Wednesday tournaments are the best AND there is also a monthly woman's tournanent plus a monthly pingolf tournament. Always a good time. read more

If only yelp would allow zero stars. Friends and I were excited to try a arcade bar in Tacoma. Within 2 second we were rudely unwelcomed by the bar tender. For someone who lives off of tips, you'd think she wouldn't yell acrossed the bar at my friend to leave because she had a baby. Rules are rules. But kindness is kindness. She was not too busy to kindly tell us that it is 21 and up. I was actually standing right next to the bar tender, she could have told me instead of embarrassing my friend. Its a bummer, drag on the night to be treated badly. When we don't have a baby, and a lot of money in our pockets...we won't be going to spend our money there. That's for sure. Learn some tact. Two different guys behind the bar, but when we tried to order--two different times about five minutes apart--they pretended not to see us and disappeared into the back area. Came into this new pinball arcade while running some errands on 6th Ave. They have about +/- 20 machines. Everything from Elvira to X-Men to Ghostbusters and more. Theres lots of room to grab a high top table or sit down and enjoy a drink with some friends. Theres also tables next to the games so you can drop a bag or a purse without putting your stuff on the floor. The pinball machines themselves have cup holders for your beer... too cool. There is a change machine to grab quarters which is what they take to play. The space is simple and fun for a date night, hanging out alone or with a group of friends. After enjoying a fancy Birthday dinner with the Hubs and friends, we wanted to stay out a little longer and ventured to 6th ave and decided to try this spot after checking on yelp and seeing it was a PINBALL arcade/bar! Whoa! How cool is this place was the first thought walking in.... The decor was modern yet filled with pinball machines and few old school arcade games in the back. Lounge tables nearby to allow for drinks when playing and some seating areas as well for larger groups. The bartender was very attentive and the drink selections were great and I believe they even serve some eats! We really enjoyed our time here and will be back! read more
