The staff were so friendly!! Our bartender was sweet and helpful. The Korean bbq tacos were insanely good along with their fries. I heard great things about the cheeseburgers so I can't wait to come back and try one. They had it decorated for Christmas so the ambiance is great, plus they have outdoor seating in the back which is pretty big.

Fry Crack. Get them!

This place is great! Clean and the food is very tasty. The young guy with the beard is the best bartender and pours a decent drink, the rest of them ? It doesn't taste as though there is any booze. Must Eats: The FRIES! I call them fry crack, they are honestly the best fries in pierce county. Hand cut, soaked in seasoning and then a heavy dose of furikake. O.M.G. The guy making them on the weekdays makes them the best. The korean chicken quesadilla is also fantastic. It gets busy so patience is necessary. Great happy hour!

Gabby is a lovely bartender. She's very kind and dedicated to her work. I enjoy the ambiance at the Lucky Silver as well! The food is affordable and delicious!

I went here once and the wings and service were amazing!! Jaid is the best bartender there is, she's very attentive. And the new brunch menu? Best mimosa tower and food there is! Will definitely be coming here again.

Stopped in for the first time this place got new owners with some great taste, I never heard of Korean bbq tacos until Lastnight !!! Wow the meat was juicy, seasoned well, and let's just say they weren't shy with loading the tacos up. Two corn tortilla grilled, Korean bbq meat, cilantro, pickled carrots & radish. The only thing I would do is add extra onions & some jalapeños for my specific order other than that this is a MUST TRY ASAP !!! I'll be back .

Half a delicious drink

This unassuming little tavern in an industrial part of STW is amazing. The lovely bartender Karen pours like she's been working gay bars all her life (HEAVY HANDED) and she treats you like you're family. Out of oranges for my old fashioned? triple Sec! Who'd have thunk it? Big ups to Karen! The Reuben I had rivals delis on both coasts. $10 for a big Reuben on marble rye (cue Seinfeld joke) with chips and a cookie? SIGN ME THE FUCK UP. I'll be back - a lot.

I'm something of a burger connoisseur, and Lucky Silver's burger offers a unique taste that I can't wait to enjoy again. A friend suggested that Lucky Silver has the best burger in Tacoma (and there's a handwritten sign at the bar proclaiming it). I'd disagree, because that title is held by The Forum's "Jucy Lucy," but Lucky Silver's burger is genuinely great. It's huge, and the hand-packed patty makes it taste like a homemade burger. Eating this burger sent through me a wave of nostalgia from my old Boy Scout camping trips. The woman behind the bar clearly takes pride in her establishment. We were the only patrons there, so she took care of us in an almost motherly way. She provided credits for the digital jukebox so we could select our playlist for the evening, guided us through the menu to help us decide what to order, and joked with us throughout the night. It felt very informal and alleviated the awkwardness inherent in being the only diners in the restaurant. It almost felt like we were guests in her home. As the evening progressed, a few other patrons came in, several of whom were greeted by name by the bartender. I have no doubt that this is a favorite haunt for many regulars. The Lucky Silver Amber was a little bland, the fries were a little over-cooked, and the decor/atmosphere is very standard bar fare, but the burger and the hospitality made Lucky Silver a local hole-in-the-wall we'll visit again.

Parking lot is super small, but they do have ample street parking right out front and we found a spot no problem. This bar is definitely on the cozier side, with maybe a total of 30 seats if I had to guess. There's about 10-12 seats at the bar and then the rest is booth seating on the opposite wall. The selection was rather decent for drinks, with them surprising us with not one, not two, but FOUR hard cider choices for my husband. Most places only have 1-2, and they usually are ones he doesn't like, but he got lucky here. Another bonus: strong pours. :) I saw a menu for food, but it was only a few choices - I forget what they all were, but I know one was a cheeseburger. So, probably don't plan to come here stuffed, but they do have snacks should you need it. This spot is definitely on the lowkey side but it was a comfortable stop. We're not in the area too often, but we would return if we were.

The times I was here with Steve we usually stuck with the beer selection and with what was on tap there. It's mostly local beers in the metro area and I remember the variety of that list being pretty generous. So that was all good. We even got some food to eat here. I have had their burgers here and liked them quite a bit. The classic type burger seems to be the Park Burger and along with fries it proved to be a good meal. Definitely a nice establishment for the neighborhood!

The back patio space is also really cool - it's also dark as it's covered, so I imagine it gets pretty warm back there in the hotter summer days. They don't have a giant food menu but they have a few sandwiches to choose from. We both got their grilled cheese which you can never go wrong with. Another notable part of our visit was the bartender - he was so nice! Extremely personable and handled holding down the entire bar by himself, including the cooking. Definitely will be added into our dive rotation. Can't wait to come back!

The sandwiches are amazing, the quesadillas are amazing, have yet to make it there before breakfast ends but I'm betting it's probably pretty good. In our defense it seemed like every time we drove by it it looked like they weren't open and the other half of the time they were open but we had to be somewhere else and couldn't commit to a stop. Well it finally happened and we are so glad it did. We made it into the iconic giant coffee pot building and had a blast enjoying it's quirky atmosphere and dive bar vibe. There once used to be monkeys behind glass way back when. We saw where they were once located in the back which adds to the history of the place. Some people may not know that since it isn't attention grabbing at this point and the monkeys are long gone but it definitely adds to the oddity of it. The Java Jive serves food which is a nice perk. I had a pretty decent B.L.T. sandwich and they have an exclusive beer dedicated just to the Java Jive by Sig Brewing named Bob's Light Lager. It's a tasty one too and kind of indicates the long history the Java Jive has for the area. We took all kinds of pictures of the unusual atmosphere and had a blast doing it. For film buffs the Java Jive appeared in several films, Say Anything (1989), I love You To Death (1990), Three Fugitives (1989) and 10 Things I Hate About You (1999). The Java Jive is also on the Tacoma Historic Register and the National Register of Historic Places. We are going a return visit there tonight (12/05/25) for a friend's book release party. If I had it again I'd ask to add a squirt of bbq inside or ask for more sauce on top. Hubby ordered the Shrimp and Grits. They were great and better than most places we've had them out. Hubby crumbled his side of bacon on top. They were Creamy, savory, cheesy and served piping hot. Jenny said sometimes people ask to add andouille sausage or catfish on top. Last - OMG that was a THICK biscuit! It was super dense. The gravy was delicious. But the biscuit takes up most the room on the plate. So my gravy to biscuit ratio was off. I still took half my omelet and half my biscuit in a to go box. Left the hash browns. They have BIG portions. Amazing atmosphere and service. If you come in from the front door there is a small counter seating area as well as booths and tables. Beyond that main room there is more space in the back.
