My favorite place for dim sum in Philly hands down. Reminds me of the LA dim sum places. Ladies come by with carts offering their items and check them off on a paper on your desk. For people who gave low reviews... you got to lower expectations... if you're Asian they'll likely speak to you in Chinese even if you're not....they will just put carts and items in your face to see if you want it... you won't be offered water... you got to ask for water or tea yourself.... You got to get up and walk to the front to pay.... But the food quality is so worth it here! Five stars for me! And so worth it at about 6 dollars a dish!

I came here for some breakfast with friends and it's a good traditional dim sum spot! The interior is spacious and when I walked in, it immediately brought me back to my childhood. Service here is standard for dim sum and they always have staff walking around with various carts and trays full of dim sum offerings. We got a variety of your classics: har gao, rice noodles, turnip cake, dumplings, buns, and more. Everything was pretty solid. Overall, not a bar spot for dim sum!

This was our favorite dish. Description of the dish is in my review.

Wish I could give this place a 4.5 stars, but giving it 4 stars. Let me tell you why. But in case you don't want to read everything, if you are wondering if you should go to this place for dim sum, yes, they have the push cart dim sum and, yes, the food is good. Yes, go here! :) First of all, I had a really good feeling or a really bad feeling about this place when we were pointed to our seat. The waiter who was seating us asked us if we wanted tea and we said that we were still waiting for other family members, and told him not now but instead of saying "ok," he yelled at us "TEA?! TEA?! YOU WANT TEAT?!" while slamming his hand on the teapot. So, we simply said yes to not anger the man. This is why I couldn't give it a 5. Other than the initial unpleasant encounter, I have to admit that everything here was good. There were some foods, which were meh, but overall everything was delicious and better than Grand Palace Restaurant, IMO. Attached is one picture (hopefully you can see it) that was the best thing my family ate here. The manager was delighted that we liked it, proudly stating that it is a new dim sum dish. I don't know what it's called, so that's why I had to take a picture. It was shrimp covered with crunchy dough and then covered with a green rice roll. Sooooo good! It took us a long time to get another plate of it, but it was worth the wait. This place was also better at explaining what dishes were other than the simple "chicken, shrimp, beef, dumpling" responses at other push cart dim sum places. Overall, the staff was friendly and whenever I asked for my favorite dim sum dish, the shrimp rice noodle rolls), they all said "coming, you wait." LOL. And they made sure that we had our favorite dish. Other dishes that were good were: -chow fun -shrimp cheung fun (shrimp rice noodle rolls) -har gow (shrimp dumplings) -pork shumai Dishes I would not get again here: -steamed beef short ribs with black pepper (too greasy) -fried tofu squares with shrimp (it was literally one piece of shrimp and all tofu) The restaurant is much smaller (much smaller) than Grand Palace Restaurant, but this particular Saturday, the wait didn't seem too long. Our party of 4 got seated right away at 11:30am. It did get busier as the day got later. I would definitely go back again the next time I'm craving dim sum and I'm in Philly.

Super quick service. As soon as you arrive, they direct you to a table. Soon the cart ladies will start coming up to you one by one. Each cart has different items so make sure to ask what they have. Don't get intimidated by the noise and don't rush your orders. I would suggest going through each cart first and only order once you know what you want to try. I saw a LOT of food getting wasted, almost everyone who left before us had food leftover on the table - felt really bad about it. The coconut jelly and custard tart were really delicious. I would pass on the eggplant shrimp. The pork buns were ok, would have liked more filling and a thinner shell. Bring cash.

I remember a few years ago I tried to find a dimsum place with dimsum carts pushing around, but there wasn't any, except for this place. So I've been 'loyal' to it every time I want dimsum in Philly. The food here is pretty good too and reasonably priced. There's also a lot of option. I'd recommend not ordering beef organ because it has mainly daikon.

This is my first time here for dinner and it did not disappoint. Every dish was absolutely delicious! I've been here for dim sum plenty of times and dim sum is really good here. Probably the best location in Chinatown for dim sum in my opinion. Servers were all so friendly, nice and attentive. Restaurant is nicely designed and clean.

Great dimsum place! Seated quickly and food came really fast in the prime hours! All the dishes were good and servers were really fast in getting us any additional condiments we requested!

Are Dim Sum served all day on weekends?

I believe the cut off time for dim sum is 3pm, from what I remember.

Are they open for dine in as of today?

No dine in opportunity when I went on Saturday 2/13/2021. Carry out only

Tea carts every day, or only weekends?

If you're talking about dim sum, where food options are pushed via carts around the restaurant, it's every day before 2pm.

I chose the $7 version with steamed shrimp and OH MY! I have a new favorite. Loved it. Out of curiosity, I also decided to try out the salt and pepper pork, which just basically turned out to be a fried pork chop. Pretty generous serving, with lots of fried garlic and onions, and fresh jasmine rice. Not bad. Saved most of it to bring home.

While the flavor was clean and aromatic, the kitchen used chicken breast rather than the traditional bone-on thigh meat, which made the texture a bit chewy. We also tried the Szechuan Squid. Be aware that this is more of an "American-style" Szechuan dish -- it was sweet and sour rather than spicy and lacked the traditional peppers or numbing heat. However, the texture of the squid was remarkably soft and tender, reminiscent of an Italian-style slow-cooked calamari, which was a pleasant surprise. To round out the meal, the Dry Fried String Beans with Minced Pork (Gan Bian Si Ji Dou) were a solid highlight. As someone who frequently eats at more 'cleaver-heavy' Chinatown spots like Jin Wei, I found Lee How Fook to be a friendly and consistent spot, but the preparations here are definitely tailored to a much milder palate. If you are looking for that specific 'hacked' bone-in dark meat or a fiery Szechuan kick, this might feel a bit safe.

We ordered the chicken lo mein (without vegetables for my nephew), diced dry spicy chicken, xiao long bao (XLB), pan-fried Sheng Jian Bao, chicken feet, crystal shrimp dumplings, and egg tarts. The chicken lo mein was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of salt and flavor. The diced dry spicy chicken came with a side of rice, which balanced the bold seasoning nicely. The chicken was crispy on the outside while remaining juicy on the inside, and the spice level was around a 5/10, which is enough to give it a satisfying kick without being overwhelming. The XLB wasn't served with julienned ginger, as some restaurants do, but the broth inside the dumplings had a subtle ginger flavor that was a pleasant surprise. The dumplings were well-seasoned and flavorful enough that they didn't even need soy sauce. The pan-fried Sheng Jian Bao (five dumplings per order) was slightly less authentic than I expected. While the flavor was spot on, the filling lacked any soup, and both the top and bottom of the bao were crispy (typically just the bottom of the dumpling is pan-seared). They ended up tasting more like well-made pan-fried dumplings than traditional Sheng Jian Baos. The chicken feet came three to an order and were tender, with a savory sauce that had a hint of sweetness. The crystal shrimp dumplings were fresh and delicate, and the egg tarts made for a great way to finish the meal with their flaky crust and creamy custard filling. The service here was excellent. Our server spoke almost perfect English, which isn't always expected at restaurants specializing in authentic dim sum. The food arrived quickly, piping hot, and they accept both cash and credit cards. The restaurant is fairly spacious, though it doesn't have the large banquet-style atmosphere you might associate with some traditional Chinese restaurants. Overall, this was an excellent dim sum experience, and I will definitely come back the next time I'm in Philadelphia.

My party of three found the quality of food average as juxtaposition for New York City Dim Sum. There are no dine-in menu to order platter entrées if the Dim Sum dishes does not eat your fill. Customer service is average. The Dim Sum trolley women appear nonchalant and less enthusiasm as they can determined to ascertain that my party and I are non-Pennsylvanians, but out-of-towners. Both the dim sum menu and a lunch menu with standard Chinese restaurant fare were available. My party got the general tso's chicken from the lunch menu, and it was exceptional. Good-quality white meat with just enough spice. Heads up, though, the lunch dishes don't come with rice, so order that separately. From the dim sum menu, we ordered braised tripe with ginger & scallion, fried shrimp rolls, shrimp dumplings, steamed chicken buns, and crab meat soup dumplings. The braised tripe was a standout. It was cooked in a light yet flavorful sauce of ginger and scallion with the tripe's own broth. The delicateness of the sauce worked perfectly with the tripe. The dumplings were all great, especially the soup dumplings. The steamed chicken bun was the only thing I'd skip. It was on the heavier side, and the filling was just okay. The bill came out to about what I expected for the amount of food we ordered--$65 before tip. The service was friendly, and taking our order and getting the food was quick. Stay away from any of the soups/ramens, the broth is exactly the same flavorless base for every soup. I'd stick with appetizers. I got the worst thing I've ever ordered at a restaurant here: Tom Kha Seafood Soup, it was supposed to be spicy but it was just sweet with no flavor at all. Nothing like any other Asian spicy seafood soups I've had before, lacking any normal amount of seafood (hardly any), and weird uncooked veggies, like huge sliced raw tomato bits. I ate the small amount of seafood out of it and left the rest. It was hardly edible. The scallion pancakes were also the most underwhelming I've ever had. I usually fight for the last piece but me and my boyfriend left half of it uneaten. No flavor or crisp. Seemed frozen and reheated, not fresh. The soup dumplings were the only good thing we ordered and they were just fine, nothing amazing. Additionally, there was a very small amount of them to our order. The Vietnamese beef soup was ok but very below average, nothing good that I'd recommend ordering, same bland broth. I really wanted to like this place and I usually never give out one star reviews, but it was truly bad and the ratings on it are clearly inflated and not reflective of its food quality. Small amounts of bad food for a price you could get much better things elsewhere. I'd rather have gone to Wawa than gone here (and I did after because I was still hungry).

This place is full!! Dining room hopping. Small and seemingly a lot of locals. Very helpful…read morefriendly staff. 4 wings $7.55. I got 4 flats. Tasty flavor but I think I should've read fine print. General Tso shrimp was solid! Flavorful and semi spicy. Just a note for you to notice it is spicy but nothing hot or overwhelming. The ramen I was shocked it did not have flavor. I drank the broth just outright but nothing flavorful. Weird, right? I give a 3.5 averaged 4 cause service. Would I return? Maybe... maybe try dim sum but I wouldn't order the wings or ramen again.
