Excellent place to have car work done! I got a new car (new to me) and had a sensor light come on...was in the area and swung by to see if they knew what it was....said it was a tail light bulb out and checked all the rear bulbs...there were actually two out so they replaced them both in minutes... Chuck and crew are First Class and "know" what they are doing....a week later I hit a wild Turkey on the highway ( yep a turkey).... Did some damage to the front bumper and fog light...they were nice enough to check out the underneath and fix what they could....I have found my new Master Mechanic in Redding for Quality Cars! Highly Recommended for Excellent Quality Car Repair and Service with Respect! What's the old saying.... Quality Work isn't cheap....cheap work isn't Quality! If you have an Audi/BMW/VW/Porsche.....it's the place to go in Redding. Chuck even took my car for a drive and when asked what I needed to have done said nothing really from what he could tell...but you might consider changing the fuel filter as it has almost 100k miles on it....I always Appreciate not being over sold and Honesty!.....came in to have the fuel filter replaced...the fuel was a dark color.....great call Chuck on a "needed" replacement....in this day and time when everyone wants to "sell" you something...it's nice to know Honesty is Still at work in the Repair Business....well at least at THIS repair Business! We found Oasis through Yelp, and boy, the 5 star ratings are misssssleading. Make yourself comfortable for our mechanic horror story... pop the popcorn! Our ordeal with Chuck and his crew started in June of this year. Our VW Tiguan had had a cracked water pump a few weeks early, and Chuck and his team had fixed it with no issues. We were actually pretty impressed, and his team was very friendly. Shortly after getting the car back, the Check Engine light turned on. We took the car back in, and Chuck ran the code and indicated it was not a big deal. He turned off the light and we went on our way. Few days later, and the check engine light was back on. After some coaxing, my wife took the car back in. Again, ran the code, and was told it was a turbo valve issue and they would call us with an estimate, but that it was safe to drive. So off we went. No one ever called. Few days later, wife's down in Chico and the whole kit and kaboodle goes down in biblical fashion-- but not too worry, we have our friends at Oasis, so surely all will be dandy! June 26th, 2017: We dropped the car off via AAA's tow truck. Slightly later June 2017: It was a few days before we heard anything. We called to check in, no call back. They eventually called us and let us know they were swamped and it would be a few days. This meant the wife was effectively stuck in our house 24/7 in the middle of a godless heatwave. Thanks, Oasis! One week since drop off: We call. They say they'll get to it soon. Two weeks since drop off: We call. They say they need to scope it with some special tool before they know what is wrong with it. They say that will be the next day. Next day, no call. Two and a half weeks since drop off: They say the tensioner went out. They quote us $650, with hopes that "it could easily be less than that" and they just need to borrow a tool. (Wife would like to note that they actually told her $700 and that it could be MORE than that, because they still weren't really sure what was wrong with it). We never received or were offered a written quote. Two days later, they tell us that actually, they couldn't borrow the tool, so now they have to buy the tool, which will, of course, take a few days. July 15th, 2017: Redding Police Department calls (note, not Oasis). Someone has taken a rock and smashed a window on the car. We call Oasis, they say "oh, so sorry, we'll fix it... and we should have the car back to you in a day or two!" We are told that this year the Tiguan engine was "weird" so it's a particularly difficult job. Four weeks since drop off: Chuck and his team still don't have the car back to us. Every day or two, we get a call telling us that they're sorry and it'll just be another day or two. Often, they say they will call us the next day and just... don't. Meanwhile, the estimate price has creeped up to over $1000. Four weeks two days since drop off aka JULY 28th, 2017: Late in the day, we get a call. Car not ready... totally fixed, but... oh yea the window is still broken. It's Friday, so they promise us, absolutely Monday... fo sho. Guys, guess what happens on Monday? Car. Still. Not. Ready. Plus we get a fun call stating... oh, if we actually want them to *fix the check engine light issue* then we need to pay another $150 (Ummm guys, seriously, you were going to just hold the car for a month and then give it back with the check engine issue still unresolved? What the heck kinda business is this??). For goodness sakes! So, today, Tuesday, first day of August, we get the car back, $1200+ later. I'm honestly too exhausted after a month of BS from these fools to argue. I just want the car back. So my wife pays the bill, with a cute off hand comment out the door about "you won't hear from us again... unless the check engine light comes on again in the next 24 hours!" Guys. Guys. Guys. Five hours later: Check engine light is back on. I've never been so frustrated. We're filing a Bureau of Automotive Repair complaint. Chuck called my wife at 7:00pm, but she just handed me the phone, because after over a month of this, she just can't anymore. At this point, I can tell Chuck's voice from Juan's voice. I know Chuck will ramble on with excuses, where Juan will be polite and patient. I feel like I've been let down by old friends. Let's be real: Without Google, most of us don't know a catalytic converter from a caliper. Businesses like Oasis rely on trust to keep business coming in. What I learned is that I cannot trust Chuck. I cannot trust Oasis. We will be taking our business elsewhere, post haste. We've heard good things about Richard's Automotive and O2 Motorsports. Stay tuned! read more

Chuck really saved us. We were on a trip from Mariposa, CA to Portland and back. We had our Jetta TDI serviced at the dealer before we left. The VW dealer forgot to reconnect one of the clips that secures a rubber elbow on the tube between the turbo and intake. It was ok on the flat, but when we went up steep mountain grades in Southern Oregon all out turbo boost leaked out. This is difficult to diagnose because there are no steep grades near auto shops. But Chuck was able to figure it out! He put out car on the lift after closing on Thursday night. He had to run several tests, but he found it. This is one of the best shops I have been to for my TDI. Even though it is hours away from our home, I may plan my scheduled service for the next time I am in Redding. read more

Really great service. My VW broke down mid-vacation travel on holiday weekend, about four hours from home. When we limped in to Oasis, they were just opening up again but Chuck still took time to diagnose my car and to call a couple of different mechanics to help me out (Oasis was already booked solid). In the end, his solution was to baby my car home early in the a.m. before the heat took over. Brooke in the office even called me the next day to make sure I made it home okay. A hose broke on my Porsche Cayenne S Turbo around Yreka on Monday evening, day before July 4th. Of course everything was pretty much closed for the evening and there was nothing in Yreka. We were headed from Portland to UC-Davis for a football camp for our son, so we had the vehicle towed to Redding and I found Oasis through a google search. They were closed the 4th of July, but Juan gave us a call the next day when they opened to see what had happened. The hose that broke was behind the manifold so they had to remove the manifold to get to it. Unfortunately they didn't have the part and had to order it from Porsche. They went the extra mile and called around to all the other parts stores and even looked into fabricating the part itself, so that we could get back to Portland on Saturday. Unfortunately for us, this was not possible and the part didn't arrive until the next Monday. During the whole process, Juan was great about giving us updates and even sending photos. Chuck made sure that everything was working properly. If I lived in Redding, they would definitely use them as my auto mechanic. Great customer service! read more

I have brought my troublesome car here multiple times and they always do an outstanding job. They work with you to get everything done, don't cost a ridiculously high price for their services and really know what they're doing. Chuck is working on my 99' 540i BMW. I personally used to work on older cars (pre emissions) back in Tucson Arizona, and have met a lot of people in the Auto repair field and unfortunately the majority of people had what I call a high level of dishonesty. I have also met similar people (I won't mention names) here in the auto repair industry in Northern California including Redding. So when I met Chuck several years ago I knew he was someone different than the rest. Chuck has the highest level of integrity and honesty that I have witnessed in a field that can sometimes be unfair to the consumer, Chuck is both fair and honest. We need more people like Chuck in both the auto industry and my field which is the IT field. I had the best hopes for this shop but was terribly let down. They had my Audi for a month and could not diagnose the problem. When I took my car to another mechanic he literally found the problem within a half hour and my car was up and running later that week. They were charging a ton for what could be the *potential* problem but couldn't guarantee anything . The owner was terribly patronizing to me as a young woman and insisted on speaking to my father instead when I was the one paying for the service. When they gave the car back everything they pulled out was sloppily put back in and my battery was dead. The least I expected was to receive my car back in the same condition I left it in, not worse. read more

Don't waste your time with Chuck and his business Oasis. I read the review of the couple with the Tiguan and the exact thing happened to me. I took my Jetta tdi to chuck to have the fuel injection pump fixed. He constantly gave me the run around and threw excuse after excuse at me. After several weeks of no progress on the car I got so irritated that I had the car picked up and towed. Even after the car was towed he still charged me for a couple parts that he ordered but never even installed. Once the car was sent to another tdi mechanic they called and mentioned how poorly the car was put back together and that it was leaking diesel fuel all over the place. Not to mention pieces were missing from the car that chuck still had at his shop. Within one week O2 motorsports had the car completely fixed and they even went as far as having it washed and having the engine compartment detailed. I can't recommend O2 enough. Save yourself the headache and do not take your car to Oasis. read more

I can't say enough about Chuck and the staff at Oasis. Last summer, our VW broke down in Redding for the second time in two days after supposedly having been "fixed" by a VW dealer in the Bay area. It was 4th of July weekend, and we were headed north to our home in the Seattle area. After a frantic search on our phones, we came across the reviews for Oasis on Yelp. After the holiday, I took the car into the shop and explained the situation. Though the shop was very, very busy, they promised to work our car in (as they felt bad about our situation). We then returned to Seattle via rental car. Throughout that week, Chuck and his staff kept me informed via both phone and email. He patiently explained in great detail about what was wrong, how he fixed it, and perhaps what the dealer DID NOT FIX. How refreshing. This candor is not something you get from all car repair shops or dealerships. I wish Oasis could clone itself and have a satellite shop up in our area because I would definitely take both our VWs there. After that trip, two months later, we drove this same car from our home in Seattle to Las Vegas and back. The car ran like a dream, and we've had no problems since. We thought we had a friend that worked there. We were wrong.. Our timing chain broke and we had our 2001 jetta towed to Oasis After a week of estimates our friend called us and said that he found a used motor real cheap and his boss said he could do it as a side job at the shop to save us money. Sounded like a way to help us all.. or that's what we thought. So we paid for the motor upfront and started waiting. After a week he came to us and said he needed more cash for a new steering pump $120 so we gave him $200 After that we waited a few more weeks and nothing.. No calls or call backs! So we went down to Oasis at the one month mark and was promised that the car would be done in two days.. that he only had a few bolts to tighten up and check. It's now been another month of lies and we are now at the two month mark and we just showed up once again to find out that he never even bought a motor to begin with and that he never even lifted the hood of our car to do anything. I've never in my life been lied to face to face like this. I'm not sure who's to blame here.. Is it us for trusting the guy or is it his boss for allowing him to do this or Scott for lying his ass off and stealing from us? My guess is that we are all to blame but one thing I do know is that I will never take my car or allow anyone I know to go anywhere near Oasis auto repair.. Thanks for nothing Scott.. Hope you figure out a way to give us our cash back! read more
