Saved about $40 trading in my scratched up discontinued Oakleys. (Bought on eBay, without receipt or warranty) My experience with the customer service was pretty good. The guy in customer service warmed up to me when he knew I was not wasting his time but serious about buying. He helped me with my many requests, gave me a good deal and gave me 2 extra microfiber cleaners. Doesn't hurt to ask for extras. -They have Asian fit sunglasses in stock (Never seen it in other stores) -If you don't see the sunglasses your interested in on display, just ask because they do have more sunglasses in stock in the back and upstairs (employees only). -I recommend shopping here if you live 30-40 miles away and want to upgrade (trade-in) sunglasses or replace lens. Its a lot faster than calling them up, sending it in, waiting and such. -Pretty cool place to visit if your a mega fan. read more

I visited this location because I wanted my Oakley Juliets assembled, since I didn't have the appropriate screw driver to assemble it myself. A hostile redheaded employee got a nasty attitude with me, which surprised me because in my prior visits, I met nice and courteous employees, and I also liked that they had a machine to clean my sunglasses with UV light. It's a nice location, but I don't want to go back because I received hostility, and the other 2 employees listening to it did nothing, as if it wasn't a big deal to them. This particular employee told me that I was profiting off of the Juliets that I wanted him to put together for me, that I was going to sell it on eBay, and that he didn't want to put it together for me. Then he was all upset that I had purchased aftermarket rubbers and lenses for the Juliets. I have the right to purchase whatever the hell I want, and that's NONE of his business. Oakley Juliets and Romeos are discontinued, and so many people with Juliets and Romeos purchase after market lenses and rubbers, so there is no reason to throw a fit over this, and act like the world is coming to an end. He then told me that he didn't want to touch my sunglasses because he would be liable if he broke them. How stupid and incompetent can he be? I just assumed that since Oakley hired him that he would posses some skill. It's like going to a grocery store and the employee telling me that they don't want to bag my groceries because they're afraid they'll drop my food, or a physician not performing a physical exam because they're afraid they might hurt me. That is NEVER a valid argument. I asked for assistance from another employee when, with a nasty tone, he told me "YOU'RE ALREADY BEING HELPED." I guess he was too careless to take a hint that I didn't want the redhead to help me and that I was searching for a civilized person to help me, but I guess he couldn't have cared less. I won't be visiting this location anymore, as I have zero interest in receiving attitude from hostile people who make it seem as if I am engaging in criminal activity, when they should just be doing their job. After reading the other reviews from other yelp users regarding this Oakley facility, I see that MANY others share my sentiment with regards to the poor customer service by certain employees. They really should ensure that all employees maintain a professional behavior at all times. I really hope the redhead gets fired. He clearly didn't like his job and acted with the utmost hostility and unprofessionalism. He represents Oakley in a very negative manner. After I left this review, I received 2 insulting private messages from 2 bitter neanderthals, who I feel were affiliated with Oakley, and wanted to show their displeasure for my reviews. They should instead show their displeasure for the few nasty employees that they have. I laughed, reported them to Yelp, then BLOCKED their profiles. My $1000 Oakley Time Bomb watch stopped working, I loved this watch. I knew the headquarters were located in Orange county so I called to see where I could send the watch for repair. I was told I could ship it or just bring it in. On my next day off I drove out there. The building is very impressive, massive and really cool looking. I went to the watch department and I was told to have a seat. About an hour later the guy came out and said that Oakley does not fix their own watches, and that the watch was un-repairable. I was told that I can have a $300 credit towards a new $1500 watch or it can become a very expensive paper weight, I was blown away, how can a company as big as Oakley not back their own products? Why wouldn't they have parts for their watches? It's simple, they can make more money by getting you to buy new products....... I took the watch to a number of shops to see if I could get it fixed, they all said the same thing, Oakley parts are not available for repairs!!!! Here is where it gets good, I found this place in Orange CA, It's call the TIME MAKER on Tustin St in Orange CA He fixed my Oakley Timebomb watch when Oakley said it was un-repairable!!! That's right, the manufacture couldn't, wouldn't fix their own watch, but he could. Oakley told me it was either a expensive paper weight or a $300 credit towards another $1500 watch......needless to say I would never buy an Oakley anything. The Time Maker fixed it in a couple of days and backed it with a 1 year warranty, HEY OAKLEY, maybe you should sub-contract this guy to offer yours some customer service!!!! read more

In regard to Gerald H. review about the CO's being banned. Unfortunately many, not a few, bad apples have tarnished the CO badge. I was from Visalia, stopped many CO's who were blatantly breaking the law, speed, duece etc and expected "special" treatment because their "law enforcement". My recommendation is pay the full price like everyone else and be glad your department had the discount while it lasted. Also while your passing it along as you said in your post, please also pass along our request not to mention your "law enforcement" and ask for a break when stopped by the boys in blue. Oakley is by far the best sunglass company and honors military and law enforcement, so don't abuse their generosity. It is out of their gratitude that the discount even exsists. read more

This place is surreal. As you crest the hill you come upon a giant gray concrete edifice with spikes coming out the sides. Then there's that main lobby entrance, looking like something out of a sci-fi movie. We came right after lunch time so a bunch of warehouse people were finishing their shifts, streaming out of the building like the Morlocks from that 60s Time Machine movie. The main lobby is straight out of a video game like Fallout, all distressed rusted metal and concrete, dystopian and sleek at the same time. If you're in the area it's definitely worth a visit. But how was the store? Well...I must confess, I lucked out with a personal connection to this place, so I got to shop the employee store. I didn't even take a look in the regular store. That's why I give it five stars! For having such awesome employees :P But I did buy some Oakley sunglasses about a year ago, so now I know where to bring it when I need to get it serviced or whatever. read more

The employee store is great but the customer service sucks balls. My brother came in to purchase some sunglasses for me to use while running. I'm Asian, so had to get Asian fit because those plastic nose pieces don't work on my bridge so I'm glad they realized this and created the Asian fit. I wanted polarized lenses but the color frame I wanted didn't come in polarized so I asked him to purchase me the frame color I wanted and replacement polarized lenses. The sales person was very quick to accommodate but did he inform that there are actually specific Asian fit lens replacements? Come on now. How am I supposed to know that there are specific Asian fit replacement lenses. I thought the only difference was the nose piece. I'm buying an Asian fit frame why would I need regular lenses that don't fit the frame?!? You would think the sales person or the cashier would double check before ringing it up and sending my brother on his way. When my brother checked online and realized that there is a different replacement lens for specifically Asian fit he shared that news with me. I asked him to communicate this with the store and kindly inform that the store failed to warn us of this prior to completion of the purchase. Did they care...NO. all sales final, regardless. Come on now. If I wanted to blow a hundred bucks on something I can't use again, I would spend it on a fancy meal with an end result of a happy tummy. Stopped by the warranty department here to see if they could help me fix my sunglasses. I was a little early as the main store opens at 8 but the warranty side opens at 9... No problem as I waited an employee asked me if I needed help and told me that the warranty person should be opening shortly. A few minutes later Mike came and opened the doors and asked how he could help. I showed him my glasses and what was wrong... he told me give me a few minutes and I said no problem because I know he needed to open the place. Literally a few minutes later he came back with my fixed glasses and it was all repaired. No charge or anything I was out of there within minutes. Today I broke my brother in laws (who is visiting from out of town) prescription Oakley glasses ( he has a genetic disorder which renders him almost completely blind without them) we went to an optician and they couldn't help us but told us to go to the Oakley factory and maybe they could help. We went to Oakley and were helped by Chad, who was doubtful they would be able to fix them because they are 3 years old. He searched through the back and then tried one more place and found them, brand new frames, and gave them to us for no charge because he said the part that broke has been an issue. I ordered sunglasses for my girlfriend off of their .com site and since i live 15 minutes away from their headquarters it should only take a couple days. The package ended up being missent to Corcoran, Ca this is 2 hours outside of L.A. This was the last update for the tracking and this was a week ago. I called Oakley and basically they said they cannot do anything until the package "turns up". I told them that this cluster is not my problem but between them and DHL. Went to this store to look at their selection of prescription eye glasses since I had some FSA money left. They do have much better selection than spectrum store and the sales reps if not great, were not bad. Answered questions I had and let me try out frames without bothering me. A bad thing was, they dont accept FSA cards, so I had to use their receipt to reimburse from my FSA, bit of an hassle. When picking up the frames, I noticed that it was a bit wide and didn't fit well, so wanted to get it adjusted. I was asked to go to the walkin customer service area, and this is where I got pissed off. There were about 3 people in there and they were busy chatting and with what appeared like their personal friends at times very loudly laughing. I walked in and stood for about 3-4 minutes (felt much longer) and nobody bothered to ask me what I was there. A couple of times, the person who seemed to be in-charge there looked at me and looked away as if I wasn't there or he wanted me out of that place. Just left the place without making a fuss. 2 stars to this place mostly for the sales rep. WHAT!?..*Returns of wearable electronic product must be returned within 15 days of receipt of shipment and are subjected to a 10% restocking fee if the factory seal on the product is broken. I bought a pair of OAKLEY sun glasses at SOLSTICE in Santa Clara. They looked great on me and worked well because i used them for DJing at my public events. Unfortunately, OAKLEY did not make these sunglasses very well because they broke at the hinge. I went to SOLSTICE to return or exchange for a new pair because i had them less than 8 months. The store did not have my purchase information because they said they updated their database and lost their customers purchase information. SOLSTICE told me to call OAKLEY to return them. I called OAKLEY and they told me to go back to the SOLSTICE and exchange them. I went back to SOLSTICE and they told me I can only get them replaced from OAKLEY. After 6 months of calling OAKLEY and going back to SOLSTICE, I called OAKLEY and got as far as giving them my contact information. OAKLEY said it would cost $79 to repair them. After spending $150 on these glasses and wasting my time calling going back and forth to the store, I realized SOLSTICE & OAKLEY do not care about customer satisfaction, they only care about PROFITS. DO NOT SHOP AT SOLSTICE and DO NOT BUY OAKLEY SUN GLASSES, you will be sorry. read more

The customer service here is great. Just a couple of employees working the store and they are usually helping out an office employee from the back. They don't get much foot traffic so they are use to dealing with people who are specific and detailed on the product they want. I placed an order for Oakley prescription glasses with transitions, since my employer doesn't pay for vision insurance I had to fork up $414. The glasses was ordered Nov. 28, 2009 and was received a week later December 7, 2009. Upon receiving the glasses I wore it to work for a day and noticed that it was giving me headaches and making me dizzy , at first I thought it must have been the shape and concave of the glasses that I need to get used to, however, later during the day while taking the glasses on and off, I finally figured out that the right eye lens prescription was wrong because I could see better without the glasses on, so I went to my doctors office later that day, and told them what I have discovered, they checked the prescription that they have submitted to the Oakley lab and they did send the right prescription, So in other words The Oakley lab made the mistake and gave me the wrong prescription, so I said no biggie, we'll just send it back and get a new one. Well, the doctor's office mailed the wrong glasses to be replaced on December 8, 2009 via FedEx and The Oakley lab received it two days later, December 10, 2009. So I said to myself hopefully by next week I'll get the corrected glasses. Now, this is what I don't understand - The Lab receives the glasses on December 10, and tells the doctor's office that it won't be done till next year because they are on a holiday break from December 19 - January 3, 2010. But, they received the glasses on December 10th - they have more than a week to fix the problem that they created the first place. So to make a long story short ... let me do a recap... I ordered the glasses on November 28, 2009 and because of The labs mistake - I don't get the correct one till January 13, 2010 - without an apology for the mistake. John was very very helpful. You really can't miss a guy who's 6'2"+. I originally went into the store to preview the RadarLock and have my soon-to-be brother-in-law (STBBIL)use his law enforcement discount. (40%, OMG!!!).. As it turns out, they were having a friends & family sale (25%) off. Apparently they have this sale twice a year, once in summer and again in winter. So, I was determined to isolate what I want, and have my STBBIL hook me up! Here's the problem. 1) I wanted customized Oakley's, which are non-refundable 2) Any law enforcement discounts are non-refundable. 3) When you have someone else buy something for you, there's always a margin of error. So, John was the (un)fortunate sales person who was helping me out. He carefully, and patiently explained the difference between the Radar, the RadarLock, and the Radar Asian fit. I tried in ALL three styles.Literally, I was trying to find a reason to hate the RadarLock and was wearing the shades for 15 min. straight. John was cool as a cucumber, no complaints. We started to piece together my glasses, frame, lens, logo... etc. I was fully honest and told him that I might have my STBBIL buy them for me. John, wasn't fazed at all. In the end, I ran the math. The difference between my STBBIL discount and the friends & family promotion they were running is $41. Now, for $41 dollars I was getting EXACTLY the shades I wanted. Eliminating the margin of error and not taking advantage of the law enforcement discount, which really is something Oakley is doing for them, not me. What I was trying to do was not shady (ha! Shady).. but in some way's its shady. Ya dig? Get this, when you go to Oakley.com, they don't have black ear socks (of all colors??) yet, John found the ear socks for me and made my pair of shades truly CUSTOM. I really like this store, which is their headquarters because they have a full range of glasses compared to your Sunglass Hut or your local Oakley store at the mall. Oh, I also learned that you can purchase prescription (Rx) Oakley's at a 20% discount with VSP. Go get your eye's checked through your normal optometrist, bring your prescription in to Oakley and they will customer make your Rx glasses/sunglasses. How cool is that??? read more

Terrible customer service assistance. Placed an order for goggles for a Christmas gift on Dec 5th, never received any updates on my order. Sent multiple emails to customercare@oakley and never received any response. Oakley's website did not have current status updates and every time I would call to get an update I would hang up the phone after waiting 20+ minutes. I love their products but cant stand when a large company cant take care of their customers. Finally got through Jan 17th to cancel. Service rep admitted they have not been assisting their customers as needed. Lets see if they change. read more

I went there for a prescription lens and they have a quick fitting procedure in addition to requiring a optometry prescription to make sure it is correctly made. I bought a pair of Oakley 'Impulsive' frames and the little rubber nosepads fell off within a week. I've been through 2 replacement pairs since then and the nosepads fell off the 2nd pair within 2 weeks. I'm on pair #3 wondering how Iong they'll last. I love the frames otherwise. They look great and are comfortable. I just wish Oakley would redo this style without the little rubber pieces that fall off so I don't have to keep going to Lenscrafters to order another replacement pair. It's a pain, a waste of my time, and lots of unnecessary handling of my very expensive progressive lenses that I cannot afford to replace. They've already been scratched up by having to be handled so much from this problem. I thought all Oakley products were made in the U.S.A. but this style is made in China. read more

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. The customer service phone line gives a busy signal and does not connect 80% of the time. Then, the one time it does connect, conveniently drops the call after many minutes on hold to inform the caller the entire company is at a business meeting... They tightened some of my X Metal glasses but didn't take care of my wife's pair that has been discontinued. They should have swapped them for a new pair. They also swapped out a plastic frame that is new because it was bad (from the mold injection). It should have never ben sent out I the 1st place. read more

They definitely take care of the locals. I live in Irvine and they are not very far from where I reside. Customer service is exemplary. One nice thing about the lobby store is that they have added a non contact sunglasses/eyeglass cleaner machine that actually goes through the process of sterilizing your glasses on top of just cleaning them. This store offers all their newest stuff and just walking inside the lobby of HQ is like walking into an alien spacecraft. Very unique and innovative backdrop and design. Went to the headquarters in Foothill Ranch on a Friday at about 5pm. Parked near the front in the visitor 1 hour parking, walked right in. The store was not busy at all. After a few minutes of browsing, a clerk asked if I needed some help. I explained how I was looking for a certain frame of Oakley glasses called Quarter Jackets for my baseball playing son, and the clerk directed me to a touch screen. There on the touch screen was a blank pair of the glasses I was looking for. My son created and designed the frames to his liking on the touch screen, picking out the frame color, accent colors and the lense type. The clerk disappeared for a few minutes and came back with all the components of the glasses that my son had picked out. The clerk assembled and built the glasses in front of us, and showed us how to change the lenses out for when we wanted to do that. I bought one set of frames in the black with red accents, with set of black lenses and one set of clear lenses. I was very happy that my son got to design the glasses himself rather than seeing the standard stock sets you see at sporting goods stores or sunglasses boutiques. The team of helpers were all very nice, talking to my two sons, they answered all questions, and there was absolutely no trying to sell me anything extra. They showed us how to take out lenses, pop the alternative lenses in and now I'm an expert on switching the lenses. My son needed the eye protection after receiving an eye injury in a baseball game, so having a pair of Oakleys makes me comfortable that his eyes are protected from impact. He feels cool that he gets to wear a nice pair on the field during day time and then he can switch the lenses out for the clear ones during night games. Having awesome glasses is a much better option than having him wear a cage style mask for protection, so he feels more cool and we all know how kids want to feel cool. The helpers at this headquarter store were awesome, and they talked to my son, asking him how they felt and as we walked out, the clerk gave my son a nice hard case to protect the glasses for when he has them in his baseball bag. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, my son couldn't have felt any better and I think they found a lifetime customer in my 10 year old son. Now he can be like his Dad who has several pairs. read more

I have now had two great experiences at this store. I am sure like others I was taken aback by some of the other reviews. I'm 60 and the staff has been great. They were knowledgable and helpful. Yesterday Nicci helped me chose a pair of prescription sunglasses. At $400 it is not a light decision. She have good information and recommendations. Music was pleasant and I watched as other customers we being equally well. Apparently some of the reviews were talking about an employee store that us onsite as well. I do custom orders all the time. The prefer lens is Ruby iridium polarized. Lately every pair I've been ordering has been coming back with a see threw blue, purple, orange, yellow, slight red lens. This Pair of sunglasses has been returned twice for them to fix their issues with the wrong lens. And again it comes back wrong. I believe that since it's turning out to be a fast return back to me that they are just putting the same sunglasses back in a different box. Then shipping back to me. Custom orders take longer then 5 days total to be done, at my door steps in Hawaii. They just lost a lot of customers due to this mistake they can't fix for the holidays. Large Family of surfers, pro surfers that travel the world and Lifeguards that all need polarized sunglasses 2-3 times a year due to our active lifestyle. We will all stop our custom orderings from Oakley. I will attach photos to show what the sunglasses look like, the purple/blue ones they keep trying to send and what they are suppose to look like. Also the white pair with ruby iridium polarized I bought months ago that came in right. The quality of Oakley is dropping. Oakley needs better manufacturing professionals working on custom orders. read more
