Oakley has gone downhill. I will not buy Oakley sunglass ever again. They use to have generous return policy years ago. I have 2 Oakley sunglasses with lenses coating pealing off. I went to the factory headquarter in Foothill Ranch in California; they told me that this is normal due to sweat from my forehead, BS!! My other glasses from Ray Ban does not have this problem. I am a long-time customer of Oakley sunglasses. I needed to replace some original Oakley sunglasses that had become hopelessly scratched over time. Since the original sunglasses were the "Flak" model, I needed to purchase new lenses and not the entire Flak frame. At the same time, I wanted to see some of Oakley's newest selections of polarized sunglasses for daytime use. When I arrived at Oakley, I was assisted by Brian. Brian spent 45 minutes answering all of my questions about multiple Oakley lenses and frames. In addition, Brian explained the differences between various lenses and frames because I wanted a wide lens to reduce daytime glare. Oakley is a famous sunglasses brand known to everyone who loves sports. I visited the headquarters because it is not far from Irvine, where I live. The exterior and interior of the building looked like an alien fortress seen in some movie. You can purchase sunglasses, goggles, clothing, bags, and accessories, but the products sold are not as diverse as online stores. The Oakley headquarters building is located on a hilltop in an industrial area of Foothill Ranch and looks like something right out of "1984". Inside the militaristic structure is a small store that anyone can visit to purchase sunglasses or apparel. They also have a small museum outlining the history of Oakley and featuring design elements through the years. The gentleman at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful in giving information to a first time visitor. Sales associates in the store area were also very friendly and accommodating. You won't necessarily find any bargains here but it is a visually interesting place to visit. read more

On January 21, 2023, Order number: XXXXXXXXXXXXX, $226.28. I purchased Standard Issue Ballistic M Frame Alpha Array Operator Kit. Loved the product, came with many accessories and was totally satisfied. However, on 3/17/2023 the hole on the stem of the glass frame where the cord goes through broke. I contacted customer service on 3/24/2023 and received a service request XXXXXXXXX and on 3/27/2023 received approval to return the glasses under warranty. The return request stated I needed to return ALL of the items with the return, which I did, and they would send a replacement. I shipped them back with the return label they sent, and they were received at Oakley by Rick UK on 3/31/2023 at 11:57AM. All is great up to this point. On 3/30/2023 Oakley shipped me my replacement item on PO XXXXXXX, HU number XXXXXXXX, Color 929610 Black / Size 44 / Temple 132 / UPC code 888392236135 / Sales order number XXXXXXXXX / Description SIBaIMFrmALPHAMCEPsCIs1ABLKwGyCI / material number 009296. All of this is great except this item is only a pair of glasses with no accessories like what I bought. This is not a comparable item and unacceptable as a resolution to my issue. I am confused as to how anyone could think this is ok. I contacted customer support on 4/6/2023 and as of this date have not heard back. On 4/12/2023 I wrote the CEO Colin Baden,1 Icon Foothill Ranch, CA 92610 and sent all documents and still have not heard back. I've been a lifelong fan of Oakley Sunglasses since I was in highschool. I've still got my Romeo's-in fair condition (but don't dare wear them or I'll show my age... insert scene of 'Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible chucking them off a cliff as they explode...') and very worn and unfortunately unwearable but still very badass Half Wire 2.0's (due to badly peeled lenses , after 13 years of great use)... In any case, the point of this review is that I've moved on to their Crosshair 2.0s (aviator style frames) and came to their headquarters in Lake Forest CA to see if they had replacement lenses as mine were peeling after five years of heavy use. This place is pretty awesome. I felt like I was brought back to the 90's or 00's w the design-very Oakley centric and industrial. I mean this in a good way. Seemed to be built during the economic boom and Oakleys prime. Interesting experience. Like some rookie I walked into their sales section to ask about the lenses and was politely pointed to their warranty department. I was quickly greeted by Ren in the warranty dept. he took a look at my glasses w insanely peeled lenses and work frames and came out with a set of lenses slightly different than what mine came with. Explained I could get the exact replacementss online but I really wanted to secure them and figured they could install them better than I could. Off the cuff, I asked about new nose pads and he said he'd check l, but it may not be available as they sometimes go as far as cannibalizing showcase frames to which I said no big deal-my glasses are at the end of their run. Makes sense. Ren comes out to work on the invoice and payment and mentions no nose pads to be found--but instead he found a pair of the same frames without lenses in them, with pads--epic customer service. Bro. I just wanted nose pads. I was floored with the excellent customer service and corporate culture that Oakleys and its employees exude and look forward to purchasing my next pair of new Oakley's without any hesitation. Customer for life-secured. Now it only I could replace my beloved but beaten down, brown Half Wire 2.0's... Random additional notes: both the sales woman and Ren were great on reminding me that I could bring in certain gear past it's prime for a % discount on new purchases. I recently purchased a pair of sunglasses from your headquarters store. A few months later, while the sunglasses were still under warranty, parts of them fell out. I returned them to the Irvine headquarters, but the sales person there gave me several excuses as to why they could not be covered under warranty. He kept insisting that if the sunglasses were not so old, they could do something about it. I reiterated that I had just purchased them from that store. He then reluctantly looked it up and confirmed that they were indeed covered under warranty and proceeded to replace them. However, instead of replacing them with the same polarized/prizm version, he gave me a lower cost version. I find it concerning that I had to argue to have a defective item replaced under warranty, and then to be given a downgraded version of the product. The Coolest Facilty but Limited stuff and no Customer Service! The facility is super cool. This is definitely a destination you gotta visit. Bring your selfie gear because there are abundant photo opportunities that will get you a ton of likes and comments on any social media site you post them on. I am a huge fan of Oakley. They have the best quality sports wear and gear for different sports. Unfortunately, I just found the selection limited and the set up makes it difficult to shop. The facility is huge but the clothes are separated in dinky little rooms for men and women. I find it easier to shop on Oakley.com and Oakley.Si.com. I do miss their outlet page they closed down. I would estimate I spend several hundreds a year, if not over a thousand, just off of the webpages. Overall, Oakley is as good as it gets for sports gear, this facility is super cool to visit, but I left without buying anything. read more

Purchased a pair of OAKLEY prescription sunglasses through Target. The guest service at Target was spectacular. The guest service and product from Oakley is terrible. Prescription sunglasses over $400 had them for two weeks and a screw falls out. Target contacts Oakley and they tell them it will be 4 to 6 weeks to get a new screw. Target is so frustrated by this they tell me to try calling. All of their customer service is on the East Coast. When I called they basically blow me off. Once you're able to work your way through the phone tree their customer service while polite is useless. How hard is it to take a screw out of a pair of sunglasses you have in stock and mail it to the customer. I would never recommend purchasing Oakley sunglasses or anything else from them. Their service after the sell is ridiculously poor. Save yourself the time and aggravation and buy yourself something off-the-shelf for hundreds of dollars less. read more

The most awesome spot on Earth for Oakley gear - right from the factory. Even if you aren't looking for a new pair of Oakleys, visiting the factory itself is a unique experience, from the grounds, the design of the main building, and the interesting things in the factory store inside. It makes a nice stop on a weekend cruise or just because you are looking for something interesting to do for an hour or two. My personal experiences here have always been positive. The staff is very friendly, laid back, and really helpful. I've been able to make exchanges and get repairs quickly and cost effectively. Also, they have continuously improved and expanded the store inside over the years, making occasional return visits worthwhile. They have whole lines of clothing, watches, goggles, and other things in addition to sunglasses available. read more

Today I visited the Oakley headquarters in Foothill Ranch, CA. I'll admit that I have been here before, but today's visit was different. I was here to visit the museum and then I planned to shop. And yes, there's a museum at Oakley headquarters! The Oakley museum is located in the main lobby behind the store. This museum contains exhibits of Oakley products which documents their history. Interestingly enough, okay started by making motorcycle and BMX bicycle grips and riding goggles. Over time Oakley production evolved from grips to eye wear to all different kinds hip and cool items such as; sportswear & athletic accessories luggage purses accessories and everyday casual clothing. There are many items that have just launched for the new fall lines. I have my own "connection" to get into the employee only store, which was so intense it was almost overwhelming. I shopped for over 2 hours nonetheless and ended up with purchasing some great things. I love Oakley's new fall collection of packs, duffel bags, and luggage. One of my favorites is the Jupiter pack. It is designed to hold your water bottle, tablet or laptop, glasses and has a cooler attached to the bottom that holds a six pack of beer. Needless to say, I only plan to use my new Jupiter pack cooler to hold bottled water ;) By the way, should you decide to come visit Oakley headquarters its easy to find as its the big grey building with the black pirate flag on top and is visible from the toll road. read more

If you go to the warranty dept don't grab a monster that they have on the counter for customers without asking or they will hunt you down in the sales department while you are spending $200 on glasses and yell and make you feel like a thief. Even though 2 days prior they give you one no problem. We got into a shouting match over a $1.98 drink that is there for customers in a bucket. Amazing. read more

Don't waste your time driving out here. There's practically nothing in the store and not a single item for women. Very disappointing.

I've been using prescription Oakley classes for about 20 years now. The last pair I obtained (Order number: HS0010634476) through OakleySI, were an albatross. The lenses broke off at the upper right corner on the right lens, causing them to fallout of the frame. When I contacted customer care, they treated me like I was to blame. The representative told me "abuse is not covered". I'm glad she was there looking over my shoulder as I beat them. I sent them a follow-up email and they were kind enough to rectify the problem and remake the right lens, after I had contact with a supervisor. Going forward a few months. The problem happened again as I was walking, the lens fell out, after the corner of the lens cracked and broke off. I contacted them again by phone and was sent an email with a link to a third party warranty company. I completed the warranty inquiry and then found out that prescription RX lenses were not covered. It was my understanding that the glasses were covered for two (2) years, for manufacturer defects. With that said, I received this email: Dear RICK:-------- Thank you for contacting us. We have received your claim. Unfortunately, we were unable to identify the model information. In an effort to resolve your claim, we ask that you provide proof of purchase which includes the UPC code or the model number, color code, and eye size (ex: RB 3025 001/13 55), or a picture of model information inside the temple. Please email us this information at: consumerwarranty@Luxotticaretail.com and reference your notification number in the correspondence. If you mailed in eyewear for a physical evaluation, please see below: If the requested information is not provided, the original eyewear will be returned only upon your request within 90 days from receipt of the eyewear. The eyewear not claimed within those 90 days will be properly disposed of, for which Luxottica assumes no liability. Thank you, Luxottica Warranty and Repair Service Center I gave them all the above information that was in question, and still no real answers. So I mailed the glasses directly to Oakley in Orange County CA, along with the following letter: From the Desk of Rick -------- To: Whom it may concern I am sending this pair of glasses to you as I can't seem to get any traction either by phone or your warranty company. The lens corner broke off as I was walking and the lens subsequently fell out to the pavement, damaging the lens. Upon closer examination, I discovered the small fragmented piece still in the frame, which you will find taped to the frame. I called OakleySI and attempted to purchase, not gain for free, another pair of lenses. The representative I had spoken to advised me to just file a warranty claim. Not what I had in mind. The warranty web page stated that RX lenses were not covered. So with all that said, could someone please help me? If not you can just toss them into the nearest trash receptacle and after a few weeks I will just figure nobody cares and that Oakley has gone the way of the Dodo bird. I just returned from their Corporate office in Foothill Ranch and I am not happy. I've supported them & their products since the mid 90's. I ordered some kick ass custom Batwings and after a few months I picked up a couple nicks from the highway while riding my Harley. They told me they wouldn't honor the warranty. My sister in law came all the way from South America and We went to headquarters to buy prescription sunglasses. Spent a good amount of time choosing frames and lenses. Then the important part of measuring your pupil height inter pupillary distance. glasses would come in the mail after her departure and I would bring it back with me when I go down to Brazil. After waiting a long time tried to contact store. No pick up. Left several messages and emails. Then I was traveling for a month , and after that left! No one knows about the glasses. It took me a long time to figure out what to do, talking to rude people, calling her Ophtalmologist in Brazil... and you know that the distance has to be measured in person IN the lenses?? Wow, the building is pretty cool. It situated on a hill top in an business park area, so if you come at the weekend the surrounding roads are dead. We had two assistants help us, one was really friendly and went above and beyond, I think his name was Chris. He really wanted to help us find our perfect glasses and kept offering suggestions and bringing glasses out for me to try on. The other guy, who helped my husband, just seemed to do the bare minimum and wasn't very helpful. Overall, we had a good experience at this store. read more

I was in town visiting my parents and wanted to stop by to pick up a new pair of Holbrooks. The site is pretty awesome and the gentleman helping me was very helpful. I was asking him about the difference between Prizm vs Polarized lenses and he was very knowledgeable. He even grabbed a few pairs of different lenses and took me outside to show me how each one functioned differently. I left the store being a lot more knowledgeable about their various lenses and felt like I received top notch service. After I made a purchase, they threw my sunglasses in the wash which used warm water @ medium pressure and UV rays. I would highly recommend people to swing by and check them out. read more

We walked around the stores and then the museum. The on site customer service was quick and easy. Also if you're Military / Law Enforcement you can go to the employee store just have your ID ready. No guests allowed unless they're also Mil/LEO. Also they do not sell Oakley SI line products here, but they'll try to repair or service items the best they can. There's not a whole lot the public has access to but it was a fun place to stop and check out. read more

I finally got someone to help me with prescription cycling glasses, and she had no idea what she was talking about. She try talking me out of progressive lenses until I explained to her why they were important. Then she backpedaled and said, "yes maybe that would be a good idea". She didn't know much about the products, the pricing, and never really even asked a question about my needs. If they're going to charge these kind of prices they should spend some money on their staff and training.
