Was down in OC when I received a software update notification. Attempted to initiate the install via the mobile app and for some reason it just kept spinning. After a few failed attempts, opened up the car and noticed I had a low 12v battery notification on the screen. Tried to schedule a mobile ranger but the first available appointment was 3 days out. Decided to call the Lake Forest service center where Brian (? bald headed guy) answered and stated he could probably get me in/out in an hour. Made the quick 20 min drive down and prayed I wouldn't be stuck waiting for more than hour. To my surprise, I was in/out in less than 15 mins (not sure if I was lucky that there was a free tech or if this service center just isn't that busy). Regardless, Brian provided exceptional service and had me on my way in less than 15 mins. My only complaint is that they don't have superchargers available on site. read more

I am leaning toward purchasing a Tesla some time next year. However, prior to just jumping in and just buying the vehicle, I wanted to go for a test drive. So, I ventured over to the Tesla website and made an appointment for a demo drive. They had plenty of appointments available and it seemed like their schedule was wide open. So, I made my appointment and received a confirmation email. I wasn't sure of what to expect because you don't take delivery of the vehicle at this location. You can't even purchase from here either. So, I was wondering why this place was an option for a test drive. When I arrived, I realized that this is a location for both test drives and repairs/service. This worked out really well for me because I wasn't going to be persuaded into purchasing the vehicle on that day. When I arrived, I had my email confirmation ready. I didn't have a chance to upload a photo of my license when I made the appointment, so they did that for me. I told them that I was leaning toward with a model 3 or Y. However, I was concerned about rear visibility in the model Y. So, they said that I could drive both vehicles if I wanted to. I have driven a Y before, but my focus for today was a model 3. They were willing to let me drive alone, but I asked for a representative to accompany me. I have done my fair share of research on these vehicles, but I still had questions. We put the car in chill mode because I didn't want to be a speed demon in a car that wasn't mine. So, I was familiarized with the vehicle and its capabilities prior to leaving the parking lot. I was concerned because when I drove a model Y at the auto show, regenerative braking was obvious. That was a feature that I absolutely loved. However, when I took my foot off of the brake in the model 3, it didn't slow down enough nor did it brake for me. So, I used my foot as I would on any other ICE vehicle. I was told that it has to build up since the car had been sitting for a while. Overall, I was very happy with my experience here as it was just a test drive. I was more confident behind the wheel than I was when I drove a different vehicle at the auto show. I do feel that Tesla is the vehicle that I will purchase next year. I want to wait and see what kind of incentives they will have next year as the federal rebate will be cut in half. Also, California discontinued its rebate program on November 8, so I really want to wait and see how this plays out. Most likely though, I will purchase a Tesla. I will have to make another appointment to test drive a model Y. Either way, I know exactly where to go for an stress-free test drive and where to go to the vehicle serviced after purchase. read more

The office was closed but the service van was in the parking lot. I had a slow leak in my tire due to a tack. The service technician was kind enough to look at my tire to tell me it was not repairable. He pointed out the tire I had was not issued by Tesla. I then remembered I bought it from Costco which meant it was still under warranty. I was so grateful to him for going of his way to help me when he didn't have to on a Saturday. He even offered to pump my tire up so I could drive home. I really appreciated his help and friendliness. I had gone to two tire stores who couldn't help me. The center was located on arctic circle in lake Forest. This happened lady Saturday, September 27. If I could give 0 stars I would. I was given a FILTHY and I mean FILTHY loaner model 3 with 20% battery while my model X was being serviced. The staff were rude, abrupt and impatient. The service to the car was subpar and expensive. I don't trust that the work done to my vehicle was completed timely efficiently or properly. Stay away from this service center. Sebastian was really helpful and responsive with all my questions. Unfortunately my Model Y HV battery gave out. It was still under warranty and they switched out the battery free of charge. I was quoted 1 week to finish but it was done within 4 days. I was given a free loaner car. The loaner car was dirty, and Sebastian apologized that most of their loaner cars were that way. I carwashed it that same day, just needed some vacuuming and some cleaning on the interior and its as good as new. They did a good job with my car. I left my dyson air straightener inside the car and nobody stole it or anything. Thank you so much for fixing my car. read more

Staff: I've been here a couple of times and each time they have been great. Today spoke with a guy named Mark. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to speak with. A woman from sales, didn't catch her name was incredibly nice as well. As I was standing outside waiting on my Uber, she offered me a chair. This level of care was much appreciated. Overall: It is always nice when you work with employees that truly enjoy their jobs and are passionate about what they do. Tesla is the future of car ownership in all ways. Brought in my Model 3 for tire rotation, alignment and a recurring rattle inside the passenger compartment. Upon arrival, I was politely greeted and assisted by several employees. My service associate, Carlos did a great job addressing my concerns. After only 5 minutes, Carlos setup a ride with technician Luis to identify the noise issue. Luis was very professional and knowledgeable. When the work was completed (the same day) I picked up the car using the app. This was my first visit to a Tesla repair facility and it was a stark improvement over traditional dealership repair experiences I have had. Awful repair quality. Came in to re-align the trunk on a brand new 2022 Model 3. Technician managed to scratch up the inside of the trunk (no big deal) but also managed to create a DENT on the trunk. You can see the dent is on the opposite side (outside of the trunk) where all the scratches on the edge of the trunk are (inside of the trunk). Don't go to this Tesla Service Center if you are trying to correct some cosmetic defects on your car. They will make it worse. read more

I've been to this Service Center multiples of times given many issues with my 2022 Model S. Most of the times, the services are smooth and the experience is pleasant. However, more recently, there's been several visits when I would be required to take the car home and wait for a replacement part to be ordered, only to have the replacement part not arrive yet by the time of my next appointment. I'd drive 30 minutes out of the way to the appointment only to be told to set up a new appointment and go home. I would imagine Tesla to be able to track these parts and to communicate with customers thru the app about whether or not follow-up appointments dependent on orders should still be resumed or not. This was pretty frustrating. One time when I had to take the car home and wait for a replacement part, the technician team forgot to put on a panel in my trunk and left a console with a bunch of cables exposed. I thought they intentionally left it off at first to know that it was where the issue was, but when I brought the car back, they apologized for the state they left my vehicle in. read more

This Lake Forest Tesla service center is completely incompetent and not even close to the same quality as other service centers in this county. Every time I have brought my Tesla in and explain my issues they tell me they will address them. Then when I come to pick it up nothing has been fixed. But when i take it to another service center they fix it in a day. The last visit they told me my car is ready (even double checked with the team via message). I show up and get informed that the car is not ready. I had to wait nearly two hours at the service center for them to have it actually ready. And guess what, I still need to take it back to get fixed. I have been a Tesla owner for over 5 years so I have been to a few service centers at this point. This place has terrible communication, terrible quality control, and terrible service. It's disappointing that the one closest to me is this bad. Just avoid them, I will from now on. read more

I checked in my Tesla Model Y for the second time to get a battery replacement on Thursday 7/27/23. They just contacted us today Tuesday 8/1/23 to inform us there is damage to one of the tires and it needs to also be replaced. The idiot techs can't call them technicians, at this facility provide extremely poor service. I had a simple third-row seat replacement done on our Model Y, and they couldn't even reassemble the seat correctly. The seat weren't functioning as they should because the seat backing wasn't properly mounted, causing it to bulge out. I had to take everything apart and reassemble it myself. I strongly advise against taking your Tesla here, as you may receive it back in worse condition. If the morons can't figure out a simple mechanical task putting legos together how do u expect them to actually perform any real technical work. I LOVE Tesla, but this place sucks, it's not at all even comparable to the other Tesla Service Centers I've been to. I would highly suggest you take your vehicle to the Santa Ana location if possible. I went in to get my P/T sensors replaced (vehicle is still under warranty by the way). While I was there, I expressed that I was concerned about a rattling noise that I keep hearing under the car when I go over small bumps and asked if they can see what that might be. Nope! Not unless I want to pay $120 for a half hour diagnostic at minimum (maybe one hour at $240) and if it's something under warranty then it would be waived, but they wouldn't know if was until I get it diagnosed (obviously). Am I really supposed to trust that they wouldn't just tell me it's NOT under warranty and just charge me the fee anyway? Another thing is that I had a service time of 9am and wasn't provided an ETA, I figured it wouldn't take that long but they literally took 8 hours. I made sure to wash my car beforehand and like other posts, they returned it with my drivers side floor mats so dirty! read more

Tesla Lake Forest has been nothing but helpful in helping me resolve my concerns. From the moment you check in to drop off the car, they are very attentive and make sure your concerns have been heard and noted, and then they also took very good care of my car while servicing it, which I really appreciate. I've had past experiences where car dealerships (not Tesla) have damaged my cars, and that's no fun. I will withhold my praise of the Tesla App, since such commentary does not directly relate to this location, but will briefly note the app makes interacting a breeze. My observation of Tesla Lake Forest both times is that they have staff who truly care. Everybody I talked to was warm, nice, and inviting. I felt like they tried hard and successfully corrected my issues (misaligned trunk and noise from rear seat). What's more is I heard them interact with rather entitled and rude customers, and do so with grace. I have sensed they are short staffed and they noted having an influx of vehicles from another location. However, I do not feel that has deducted from their generally stalled service. I'm a Tesla fan, owner, and insurance customer; however, I am not happy with the carelessness of the staff when it came to keeping my model Y clean!!! I brought my Y in to get the windshield replaced, staff was nice, they provided an uber voucher for me to get back to pick up my car, and the price was reasonable. But, when I picked up my vehicle I realized there was some mudlike substance on the door sills and carpet!!! Before this service center, I had an ICE vehicle and every time I brought it in for service, the staff placed protective mats to prevent this kind of thing from happening. Lastly, they left two pieces of thick yellow tape on the windshield (I received no info on that and had to contact them the next day to find out whether it was safe to remove them). Make sure to check your vehicle prior to driving off to ensure this doesn't happen to you. read more

Okay, while it pains me to drop the stars for Tesla, they definitely need to work on their service. This is a brand new service center in Lake Forest. I chose this location because it had an earlier appointment date than the one in Costa Mesa. Tesla Lake Forest replaced my bumper which needed repair. It was supposed to be an easy 2-hour fix. Since I was the last appointment of the day at 3 pm and they were behind schedule, they kept my car overnight so that the work could be done. Brian, the manager, said he wanted it to be "perfect". It was completed the following day before lunch, as promised, but since I was at work, I couldn't pick it up until later in the day. Guess what, it wasn't "perfect". I am still trying to get someone to get back to me, because while I did receive a new bumper, the piece wasn't clipped in properly and there's a slight gap. It looks like one of the clips wasn't connected so the line is not flush. I did not notice it when I picked it up because I was super excited to get my car back. I noticed it the following day when I was inspecting my car more closely. Pro tip: do not leave without thoroughly inspecting your car! I tried texting the service line which was super responsive when they worked on my car but it seems like they only respond to owners who have their car "in service". I even called and left a message so that they could call me back. No call. No response. The only thing I could do was make another appointment to address the gap issue that they created. Again, another month out so I'm not really a happy camper at this point. The UBER credit was nice though. A friendly reminder for those who get UBER credit, don't tip unless you want to pay out of your own pocket. UBER doesn't allow you to use voucher credit for tips which is pretty crappy when you have $200 worth of credit that you know you won't use up in the time allotted. I learned this the hard way when I tipped 2 UBER drivers. The voucher does expire so if you need more credit, they'll happily send you additional credit to get you back to the service center. They save the loaners for people who have their car in service for more than 2 days or if you have kids who need car seats. It's hard to transport kids in an UBER so definitely let them know ahead of time if you need a loaner. They also do not wash your car because they are moving towards being a more GREEN company. That's fine, I really don't want someone damaging my car while it's being washed anyway. I still love my car and I like Tesla as a company. Contacting service can only be done via app which is a pain because the service centers are all backlogged. I wish there was an easier way. read more

Complete eye contact, engaging, personable & figures out how to accommodate my needs as a customer. He went to talk to his manager to accommodate my alignment for tomorrow Saturday 2/4/23 even though they were booked up until 2/17/23. I value Sebastian for thinking outside the box, he was all about the service 200%...I recommend Tesla give this guy a raise! I wish there were more people service oriented like Sebastian. I came in the morning asking if I could purchase a mobile charger because the one I ordered online was going to take a while. He said I could and that they had some in the back. I decided I'd give it the rest of the day to see if the one I ordered would start tracking. It didn't so I came back at the end of the day and he told me they actually stopped selling them a while ago. I asked why he told me to that I could purchase them literally the same morning and he just blamed his colleague for being new even though he (Sebastian) was the one who gave me the wrong info. My 2019 model 3, had a cracked rear window. I called for service and was told the window was under warranty. I took it in and was received cordially. When I picked the car up, I was told the window was not under warranty, and I had to pay $807.00 dollars. They would not release the car until I paid. The car had a scratch on the paint, dirty footprints on the seats. When I called to complain, the person on phone said it was my word against theirs. Recently, I found out that they went into the access panel and opened the coolant reservoir, causing to loose the vital fluid thru evaporation. The manager of that center does not honor their rectification and resolution even when his staff communicated in writing. I replaced my 4 tires in Jan. Drove off and almost had a near death experience 3 months later on the highway due to tire imbalance. Went back to the center to repair a flat tire and when I drove off the ABS locked and the car almost stopped in the middle of the road. I went back within minutes to discover they installed the wrong size tiers in the front. The center apologized and agreed to replace all 4 tires again which they did to make good of the situation. They communicated in writing and I still have the communication that Tesla will take on the cost as it was their fault initially. I never saw that refund of payment. When I called to enquire, after 6 calls and emails, the center manager said they won't refund the 4 tires, they replaced the 2 front and that was it. He told me bluntly that is it. When I asked to escalate this to his management, he said it will come back to him and he will not change the decision. He said complain as you wish, it will be funneled to me as service center manager and I will not refund it still. What great hierarchy of system. Center managers are God's in charge. They make mistakes and will not be held accountable. Almost cost me my life, but they won't be held accountable. I changed my center and will NEVER ever go back to lake forest due to lack of accountability and respect to the situation and not honoring their written communication not being respectful in general. read more

After a run around with online customer service, they told me to go the service center sooner than my appointment because it might be a safety issue. I went to the service center said they couldn't help me and I had to wait for my appointment 2 weeks later. I couldn't reverse to get back out of the center, because the area was so tight. They told me turn one way and then reverse out. Doing that, I scratched and dented my car. Now I have my initial car problem and a dent in my car. A couple people saw what happened and did not say anything. They managed to move other cars back so I can get out. Totally unorganized and cramped. Now I see why other reviews said they got their cars back with dents in them. The only good thing was that the technician did take time to do a test drive to hear the noise the car was making. I have no complaints about him. I've always raved about Teslas, and I've owned two of them. I've never had any problems until now. I even referred 2 people to buy them. After a year of normal use, the sides of the seats are straight-up cracking open because their "vegan leather" is unsuitable for use in car seats. This place refused outright to fix or make it right. This is in addition to refusing to look at issues like the mileage being half of what the car's dash claims, condensation *inside* the cameras whenever it rains, and more. This is the last straw for us - we're never buying Tesla again and are contacting our lawyer. But to those who still have a chance, definitely avoid this brand. I have a long story I'll try to make shorter, but I appreciate this store so much -- a really crappy body shop that's "certified" by Tesla had our car after an accident for a crazy amount of time (over 4 months) and after missing 4 dates that they promised it would be back to us, they then dropped our car off at Tesla Lake Forest due to not being able to figure out part of the repair job. I tried contacting Tesla to see what THEIR estimated completion date was because I need to turn the car in next month = the car has been in the shop so long that the last 5 months of its lease is about to be up, and that was NOT supposed to happen. Not only that, I'm leaving for a 2 month Europe trip in 5 weeks and need to have this all sewn up and turned in before we go. NO ONE at Tesla would talk to me - I kept somehow getting through to a SoCal Tesla Center, and they wouldn't let me get through to the dealership. They promised me a call back - and never did. One "SoCal Tesla" guy was condescending and awkward. Another told me that they couldn't tell me anything, they could only talk to the body shop and that I would have to get the information from the body shop. But of course, this crappy body shop just kept saying, "It's all in Tesla's hands and I don't know anything". The frustration! I finally called and somehow got through to THIS ACTUAL DEALSHIP and their service center. The man I spoke to was calm and cool as I explained why I just wanted some kind of information on when it might be done to know if I need to call the finance company to give them the bad news that the lease won't make it back when it's supposed to. He said he would talk to the service manager and advisor and someone would get back to me. With how bad this repair has gone, I wasn't holding my breath - but this time, Tesla Lake Forest got back to me. The woman's name was Reem, and she called back with the entire explanation, told me everything about the car and why it was there, and that they were very close to figuring out the issue. This was the last thing I planned to be worrying about while getting ready for 2 months abroad, but I am BEYOND grateful to her for the quick response and explanation. There really was no reason for the gatekeepers at the regional Tesla to go out of their way to keep me from being able to speak to someone at the store. With how bad this repair experience has been, we were thinking this might be our last Tesla and we've been looking at the Audi EV line, but we might have to swing over to Lake Forest and give it one more shot with a 4th Tesla lease. If we do, it's all because of Reem (and the service guy who facilitated the callback, I didn't get his name). I truly appreciated them, more than simple words can say. read more
