The manager of that center does not honor their rectification and resolution even when his staff communicated in writing. I replaced my 4 tires in Jan. Drove off and almost had a near death experience 3 months later on the highway due to tire imbalance. Went back to the center to repair a flat tire and when I drove off the ABS locked and the car almost stopped in the middle of the road. I went back within minutes to discover they installed the wrong size tiers in the front. The center apologized and agreed to replace all 4 tires again which they did to make good of the situation. They communicated in writing and I still have the communication that Tesla will take on the cost as it was their fault initially. I never saw that refund of payment. When I called to enquire, after 6 calls and emails, the center manager said they won't refund the 4 tires, they replaced the 2 front and that was it. He told me bluntly that is it. When I asked to escalate this to his management, he said it will come back to him and he will not change the decision. He said complain as you wish, it will be funneled to me as service center manager and I will not refund it still. What great hierarchy of system. Center managers are God's in charge. They make mistakes and will not be held accountable. Almost cost me my life, but they won't be held accountable. I changed my center and will NEVER ever go back to lake forest due to lack of accountability and respect to the situation and not honoring their written communication not being respectful in general. read more

After a run around with online customer service, they told me to go the service center sooner than my appointment because it might be a safety issue. I went to the service center said they couldn't help me and I had to wait for my appointment 2 weeks later. I couldn't reverse to get back out of the center, because the area was so tight. They told me turn one way and then reverse out. Doing that, I scratched and dented my car. Now I have my initial car problem and a dent in my car. A couple people saw what happened and did not say anything. They managed to move other cars back so I can get out. Totally unorganized and cramped. Now I see why other reviews said they got their cars back with dents in them. The only good thing was that the technician did take time to do a test drive to hear the noise the car was making. I have no complaints about him. I've always raved about Teslas, and I've owned two of them. I've never had any problems until now. I even referred 2 people to buy them. Here's how it works- Tesla sells you a garbage vehicle, and this place tells you they won't fix anything when it breaks. After a year of normal use, the sides of the seats are straight-up cracking open because their "vegan leather" is unsuitable for use in car seats. This place refused outright to fix or make it right. This is in addition to refusing to look at issues like the mileage being half of what the car's dash claims, condensation *inside* the cameras whenever it rains, and more. This is the last straw for us - we're never buying Tesla again and are contacting our lawyer. But to those who still have a chance, definitely avoid this brand. It's not a luxury car brand, you literally get better warranties and service at any traditional car company. read more

I have a long story I'll try to make shorter, but I appreciate this store so much -- a really crappy body shop that's "certified" by Tesla had our car after an accident for a crazy amount of time (over 4 months) and after missing 4 dates that they promised it would be back to us, they then dropped our car off at Tesla Lake Forest due to not being able to figure out part of the repair job. I tried contacting Tesla to see what THEIR estimated completion date was because I need to turn the car in next month = the car has been in the shop so long that the last 5 months of its lease is about to be up, and that was NOT supposed to happen. Not only that, I'm leaving for a 2 month Europe trip in 5 weeks and need to have this all sewn up and turned in before we go. NO ONE at Tesla would talk to me - I kept somehow getting through to a SoCal Tesla Center, and they wouldn't let me get through to the dealership. They promised me a call back - and never did. One "SoCal Tesla" guy was condescending and awkward. Another told me that they couldn't tell me anything, they could only talk to the body shop and that I would have to get the information from the body shop. But of course, this crappy body shop just kept saying, "It's all in Tesla's hands and I don't know anything". The frustration! I finally called and somehow got through to THIS ACTUAL DEALSHIP and their service center. The man I spoke to was calm and cool as I explained why I just wanted some kind of information on when it might be done to know if I need to call the finance company to give them the bad news that the lease won't make it back when it's supposed to. He said he would talk to the service manager and advisor and someone would get back to me. With how bad this repair has gone, I wasn't holding my breath - but this time, Tesla Lake Forest got back to me. The woman's name was Reem, and she called back with the entire explanation, told me everything about the car and why it was there, and that they were very close to figuring out the issue. This was the last thing I planned to be worrying about while getting ready for 2 months abroad, but I am BEYOND grateful to her for the quick response and explanation. There really was no reason for the gatekeepers at the regional Tesla to go out of their way to keep me from being able to speak to someone at the store. With how bad this repair experience has been, we were thinking this might be our last Tesla and we've been looking at the Audi EV line, but we might have to swing over to Lake Forest and give it one more shot with a 4th Tesla lease. This Tesla service center is amazingly quick, reliable, responsive, and kind. We dropped off our car for what we thought would be a same day service, turned out it needed a harness being replaced due to pinched wires under the seat. Under warranty they replaced the harness in under 72 hours instead of the estimated 8 business days it would take to receive the part. When you drive a top brand vehicle, you expect services to be on par with competitors. It's just average at this location. I received an alert from Tesla asking me to take my car in to replace the cameras initially installed. They had the car for one day and all the tried to do was futzing with another part. Wow, what a different and pleasant vehicle purchasing experience! Hands off, no pushing anything and completely straight forward. We test drove without accompaniment. This location talked me into buying an warranty a few years ago because my screens keep blanking out and not coming on. They said it was a known issue and I would save money in the long run buying the warranty. So I did. Over a year later I got a letter saying issue was a recall and I could get refunded if I previously bought a Warranty. I have not received a refund and my screen is blanking again with bubbling in screen like its overheating. So I make an appointment for Oct 15th. I get to appt to be told I would need a manager to sort it out and that they would contact me later in the week. So they wasted a 30 minute 2 way drive for 2 people basically. Which is very hard on me physically because I am in breast cancer treatment and am always sick. It is now Oct 25th and no one has gotten back to me. I even sent them a reminder on Oct 20th that I have a screenshot of. This location does not care about customers they just want your money over and over for the same issues. The last time my screen blanked they replaced it but dented up my trim and dash and then tried to give me my car back with dash pieces on the floor of the passenger side. I recently visited the Lake Forest location after scheduling an online touchless, salesman-less test drive with the Model X Performance. When I arrived I checked in with an associate and let them know I was there for a test drive. I appreciated Tesla asked for a digital copy of my driver's license and insurance in advanced to avoid person to person handling. They verified some information and Alexandra pulled up the Model X Performance while Joey sanitized it before I got into the car. The Model X didn't disappoint. Unfortunately the car only had ~27 miles left of battery on it when I left the lot for my test drive. Tesla Lake Forest made it right by offering an overnight test drive on another day. The car is in demand. I can certainly understand how charging was an issue with back to back scheduled test drives from other interested buyers. The Model X exceeded my expectations and the autopilot feature blew me away. Alexandra, Karen, Neil, and Joey were awesome to deal with. They weren't your typical sales team. I never felt like I was pushed to place an order. Everyone was knowledgeable and personable. The car and success of the brand speaks for itself. read more

On 3/22, Sebastian took care of my concerns and all my car questions (e.g. when to get tires changed and rotated, cabin filter replaced, etc). Furthermore, he thought ahead and scheduled me for a recall repair appt. and added wiper fluid into my car. A technician replaced the cabin filter during this visit, as well. From arrival to departure it was about 45 minutes. I learned a lot from him. Sebastian was super attentive, engaged in conversation, professional, efficient, and knowledgeable, which I so appreciate. While waiting for my car to be serviced, I waited in a comfortable indoor space and in ear-shot to the main customer service area. People can charge from either side even though they're not supposed to (Saigon's say to charge on other side) so you think there's an opening and there's not because someone is parked on the other side where they're not supposed to be charging. 20% of the chargers don't work. However, I left it there, and the next day they called and said it was done. No squeaks ever since. Service writer was great too. I recently had a HW3 upgrade on my Model X done here and the whole process was great, even during COVID procedures! After a few days I picked up my car and Jimmy was super helpful and friendly. He took the time, even though he was inundated with other customers, to explain the HW3 procedure and tips to use. Furthermore, I'm extremely thankful that the Techs went above and beyond to preserve ALL of my settings during HW3 and MCU upgrades. The only casualty was my phone was impaired and that was fixed in about 3 seconds. Thank you to the Lake Forest team for a job well done. Update: A few days later I had a question about a feature I thought was missing during the upgrade (I was wrong) and called the Tesla Tustin Service Center and immediately spoke with Garrett. He was unable to send an over the air update to my car but stated he would pass on it on to the Tech that could. Garrett texted me the next day to let me know that he spoke with the Tech, walked me through other options and asked if I needed anything else! I'll start with my first visit to this service center. My car wouldn't charge at home outside of the scheduled charge in the middle of the night. If I needed to add more power in the middle of the day it would stop charging after minutes. No matter how many times I started the charge it would quit minutes later. I schedule my morning appointment weeks in advance and provided details at the time of scheduling. When I showed up at the center the tech poked around on my screen for a few minutes and then told me to go home and attempt to charge, stare at my app until the charge failed, and then write down the time of the exact moment that this was occurring. Repeat this process again and again. As if I have time to sit around and do their work for them. I already informed them the day and the hour that I repeatedly had to start a charge only to have it fail.These cars have the most advanced telemetry for an automobile in existence. You're telling me that you can't look at the data yourself and see exactly when the charging stops and figure out why? Total garbage service. I've given up on that issue. Next, I scheduled an appointment 3 weeks in advance for 8:30 am drop-off to solve a very well-known front-end squeaking issue. They didn't do anything but move the car for the first 8 hours. What's the point of making an 830am appointment to do a 2-hour repair if they keep the car for 2 full business days? I told them EXACTLY WHAT the problem was and EXACTLY WHERE the problem was. You'll find this loud front-end squeaking is a known problem for this car if you spend any time in Tesla Forums and yet they still charged me $260 to tell ME what I already told them both in the app and in person when I dropped the vehicle off. What a sc am. Additionally, when I dropped the car off to fix the squeak they told me there is a service bulletin for the A/C (one step below a recall) and that I need a preemptive repair for $500, which is a discount from what I would pay should the problem actually manifest itself in the future. If there is a service bulletin why not let me know when the car is in warranty and repair it for free? Sc ammed again........ And in the end, they can't even throw you a customer service bone. Direct quote from the pick-up text they send: " In an efforts (sp) to conserve water and continuously promote sustainability, Tesla service is no longer washing cars." Yeah, right. conservation and sustainability. Never mind the fact that if they wash the car they cancel out my need to wash the car for a week. read more

They are great here when you are still a prospective buyer but plan on little to nothing afterwards. Something broke on our car within the first 30 days and Tesla won't fix it. That is just Tesla in general though. As for the Lake Forest location in particular we tried getting help from two ladies there and neither one responded with help, yet one periodically still sends us texts asking if we want to buy another Tesla (without having answered or addressed our prior question/concern). read more

Lake Forest, Ca. My experience here was pretty good with only a couple of hiccups. My appointment was scheduled about three weeks into the future when I requested service. I was taken in right at my appointed time when I arrived. I was concerned about the large number of cars waiting for service{?}. I was told they were just left overs from the weekend. {Hmmm}. Estimated time for my cars service was about 5 hours. However, 5 o'clock rolled around and I heard NOTHING. No response to my message either until the following morning. My car was still waiting to be serviced behind several others and I would be informed when it was ready. At about 3:00 I noticed on my app that the car was being charged so I figured the service work was done. I went to the service center and it indeed was parked in a charging port. I guess you get a call only when it is done charging. My estimate was $1200 but the total from Tesla was only $700 which made up for the over night glitch. Very pleased about that. All the Tesla people there are very helpful and friendly. The one girl even summoned an Uber for me, apparently there were no more loaners available. Not sure if they also would provide a return trip Uber, I will have to ask. The service experience at Tesla is very different from the Lexus dealer we go to which has nice couches and snacks in the waiting room and a washed and detailed car when you pick it up. read more

If I could give a zero or a negative number I would. My wife needed her bumper replaced on her Tesla Model 3 because of a small accident in a parking lot. We uploaded the pictures got a quote and an appointment date. She shows up and was told the bumper was not ordered. WTF the Tesla app said it was ordered. She was told it would be at the location the next week. A week later the Tesla app showed the service had been completed and was closed. So they never ordered the part and just blew us off. I cant express how upset I am at them. This Tesla locations customer service is abysmal. Never take your Tesla there. read more

After owning 4 Lexus cars in the last 20 years, I'm not impressed with Tesla service experience. Lexus gives you a loaner. They have a nice lounge that you can actually get some work done. They give you a loaner that is clean and also clean and wash your car after service. Tesla did give us a loaner, but it was a lesser model and the car was dirtier than a New York taxi. Check-in was haphazard. People sitting around talking and then maybe 5 minutes later someone says have you been helped. read more

Wanted to share a positive experience I had with the Tesla Lake Forest service center. Brought our car in for service to a terrible grinding sound coming from the driver side front tire. I was already expecting the worst scenario as well as a huge hit to my wallet. When I came in, I was consulted by a gentleman named Sebastian. He confirmed the sound coming from my car and brought me into the office where he told me his thoughts on best case scenario and worst case scenario. While my car was being serviced, he was able to provide a loaner for me which was helpful. I got a message that my car later that day and returned with the loaner. Upon arrival, Sebastian gave me a thorough explanation of what happened and it turned out to be the best case scenario and didnt cause further damage to my car...or my wallet. I appreciate Sebastian's calm and professional demeanor in helping us with our situation. read more

She helped entertain my kids, she helped me with the selection of the numerous options, and she guided me along with the overall expectations given the huge demand/lack of supply constraints. She kept in close contact with me and answered ALL of my questions too. I highly recommend Lydia! She knows her stuff, the ins, and outs of the Tesla brand! Further, I received our Model Y 30 days after our deposit!! I was completely amazed after hearing that the lead times were extended to Feb. 2022 at least. Now, with 650 miles in, the car is so fun to drive!!! It's ridiculously cheap to charge either at a supercharger, third party or at home with Level 1. So many features and settings too. I was extremely frustrated with my brand new tesla model Y spending most of its life in repair. The first 2 repairs for the same problem at this shop were completely incompetent and released the car back to me not fixed. Then, the manager Kevin took over and took care of it personally. Finally, after 2 weeks, the problem was resolved. Kevin test drove the car this time before he released it back to us. The 5 star is for his personal service, and the shop foreman recognized the issue and took charge. Otherwise, the technicians would've probably repeating the same mistakes over and over. read more

Scheduled to have basic HVAC cleaning and also address a recall on trunk release cable and ended up into a nightmare. They refused to give me a loaner because my car was out of warranty. I said how about the recall, will that qualify me for a loaner, the answer is no. I then asked for a courtesy Uber voucher which Tesla does offer, but the answer is still "NO", so I had to book my own Uber home. They destroy my HVAC so I had to report the malpractice to the Bureau of Automotive Repair (B.A.R.). Tesla Lake Forest hid the problem from me and I found out later because I heard rattling sounds when going over speed bumps. The managers ignored my complaints so I had to get the California B.A.R. involved so they can fixed the problems they created. After a week of service, went to pick it up and there was other issues they created which shows up on my car screen. I asked the technician and they said I have to leave the car back for them to fix it. Why called me to pick it up when there are problems still not fixed. After three attempts, they ended up fixing the issues. Picked up the car after over a week. About a month later I discovered that my glove box will not open because there was an electrical short. I discovered they smashed a wire which caused a short to ground. There was an electrical noise coming from the speaker when trying to open the glove box, and it will not open. Email Tesla Lake Forest and they ignored me again. Still no words from them. I will not take my car to them again. Very bad service and untrained technicians. read more

Such a nice location with great employees and management! I came around 4:30 pm with my Model 3 near empty because I didn't realize how much the heat of the day would affect my battery life. I wasn't going to make it to a supercharger in time so I came here in hopes of getting a quick charge and going home. I called customer service beforehand to make sure I could do that and they told me this location had very fast chargers and was open til 7. Unfortunately that was not true however (not this location's fault at all it was misinformation from the nationwide Tesla customer service line). It turns out this location doesn't have any superchargers and it closed at 5, but the manager Brian was so nice he took in my car overnight to charge it and gave me a loaner so I could get home safely! He even gave me a little toy model of the Model 3. Very sweet staff and would definitely come back if I ever need any services again. read more
