Went here for the first time because it was recommended to me by a friend. I saw the high reviews and thought it's Saturday why not? The reviews on here comment on the friendly staff but I was treated with annoyance and quickly rushed out. Maybe I caught staff on a bad day? Tried the following- pain glazed, the classic thick and fluffy with a nice glaze to seal it off. Was still warm which made it that much better. Fried glazed croissant this was masterful! Just enough crisp on the initial bite and cloud soft in the inside. Perfect and a must try if you stop in! We shared a glazed cinnamon roll that had frosting on top. Kids devoured it and while i liked it. It will definitely be the cause of someones diabetes Last was an oreo topped and cream filled donut that was stuffed full, fluffy and decadent A great little bakery that also does pretzels that I didn't get to try. If you come down for the Airport take an extra hour and spoil yourself or bribe your airline with one or these for a 1st class upgrade! I was shocked to know that the cream puffs at Schutsenfest last weekend were from Oakbrook ! It's a festival at Kolping Park all the eay up in Ohio. It would be nice to see these crème puffs more of a cream like crème brûlée cream but it was still decent. read more

You will notice on the first bite, that Oakbrook Bakery uses only the finest ingredients when making their products! Their pastries are made with care. They don't fool around when they make a doughnut, they are three times the size of other Bakery's doughnuts! My Hubby happened upon them one morning after work. It was a good experience for us- the donuts seemed to be freshly made and the pastries were delicious! My husband bought a pretzel and he said it's was very good! I am always on a lookout for local bakeries because it just reminds me of home. We came here on a Saturday almost noon and most of the goodies were gone, I think they seem to sell out. One of the things I remember hearing about this place was that it had a Banana Cream Pie donut, which made me want to come and try out this place. I decided to try a couple of their other donuts while here, so I grabbed myself a maple glazed, a fruity pebble donut, and a banana cream pie donut. Suprisingly, the banana cream pie donut was my least favorite donut. It had to do that with the banana filling that tasted a bit off, but if people enjoyed it, more power to them. My favorite was the fruity pebbles donut, which had fresh cereal on it, and the maple frosting was also good (although it was a donut without filling, but it was still alright without it!) The people were nice, but it seemed like they didn't have a ton of donuts ready, so I would say to get there early to get the donuts you want! read more

We needed cupcakes for an important event at the very last minute. I called a few bakeries and they basically could not do it in the short amount of time or they just did not want to do it. Oakbrook Bakery said it was no big deal and customized 40 cupcakes at the last minute and saved the day. Besides the great service, the customized cupcakes were very inexpensive and were moist, delicious and they looked great. Any self-respecting bakery would have pretty decent icing skills to decorate a cookie and this place is lacking, like, a lot! They look like they let kids decorate them.
