Best wings in Cincinnati. Period. Yes, you have to put up with a ton of mid 20's to upper 30 year olds drinking like they're still in college but I promise you it's worth it. If you're a fan of smoked to perfection, generously sized wings with 6-7 amazingly done homemade sauces then this bar is definitely the place for you. read more

Best grilled wings in Cincinnati. Seriously. If you're going for lunch go early or late to avoid the rush.

Came here a few times- as everyone says Wings are delish! Their club is excellent, great wheat bread etc. Food is a must, dog friendly patio. I suggest come for lunch, it seems at night it is a young/ college crowd (They were making jello shots one time I came in for lunch and had flyers for a 90s theme dance party) But during day, family friendly and great food. It is a little run down (beat up from the night before etc), but food makes up for it. I have had great service as well. A few weeks ago- we were the first people to arrive for lunch, at least on the patio- then more people arrived- there was a glitch in the system and our food got lost 2 times. It took a Long time, but the servers were kind, bought us round... then we waited and waited- other tables were getting food- so we told them to forget the order we understand, but needed to leave. The order came out and they packed it for us- apologized- it was fine- we understand, they comped us our meal. Also, he explained the error and not pull something out of his.... Thank you. We, paid for a drink so we were able to tip. They were still attentive through all this, so I'm not going to fault them and say they ignored us etc.. Friendly staff, great food- We ordered 20 wings for carryout on 6/6/15 for the Blackhawks Game- they were packed great and were delish! We live 5-10 min away- so worked out great. Just a wipe down, few coats of paint and fix some wobbly tables wouldn't hurt :) read more

So when we walked in I wasn't thrilled with the atmosphere. The music was very very loud and it could have been cleaner/fixed up more but all of those thoughts went away when I tried the smoked chicken wings. Smoked chicken wings. Out of sight! Worth a visit! read more

Went here for dinner because I kept reading great things about the wings. The wings are in fact awesome and the Carolina gold sauce is the best! The bar staff was really quick and attentive, constantly making sure our drinks were full and clearing any empties off the table. I was also impressed with how quickly the food came out. Seating is really limited and I noticed a lot of people coming in, not being able to find a seat, and leaving. Get here before peak times! read more

Awesome place nice variety of beers good staff plenty of screens and a nice patio. Will be back

This place has the best smoked wings in Cincinnati, Hands Down. The staff rocks and customer service is A++++++. I will always come back to Oak Tavern, Thanks guys... read more

First time there. We got some wings and a burger. The service and wings were awesome with variety of sauces, teriyaki was my favorite. The burger was more a slider. Very small and flat. Like out of a Wendy's commercial "where's the beef" Said handmade on the menu so thought give a try for 8.95. What a disappointment, more bun than burger. read more

Best wings in Cincinnati. Absolutely fantastic food, service was also quite good. Clientele was absolutely horrible. The people in the bar were rude, unbearably loud and belligerently drunk to the point of starting a fight. Would recommend carry out. Never dine in. read more

Wings are the best in town. Lauren is the best server ever so ask for her and the secret berry sauce for the wings. Love it!

Best wings in town, delicious selection of sauces. We went with a group of 5 and a little one on a Sunday and had outstanding service. Very pleased. read more

I used to go there a lot a few years back and the bartenders and atmosphere made it a great place to go. Recently, it has gone way down hill. A guy was walking barefoot on stools and tables, who I later found out was the GM. Nasty!!! The bartenders are more worried about conversations between themselves than helping the customers. The food is worse than your usual bar food, but at least they have something. The only plus is there patio which is rather nice. Ok, for a beer, but not a place to hang out for the night. read more

My friend and I came twice in one night. Both times our bartender Steve gave us awesome service! My friend is a bit of a beer aficionado, and he he gave her great recommendations. We had a very good night, and we were totally satisfied. read more

Small local bar. Food wasnt great. It was a nice place to just drink out on the patio though.

Waited around for over a half an hour for service, but all of the servers just ignored us. Food tasted disgusting, rude people. Horrible experience!!! read more

I didn't discover the Oak Tavern until this summer, when I moved to Hyde Park. In that short time, I have developed several fond memories here. I watched quite a few of the world cup games on the patio. I went and listened to a friend's band play inside. I hung out on the patio drinking Oktoberfest beer for the brief moment of fall we had early in September. And not to mention the many nights I just went there to grad a quick beer. During all that times, I have yet to have a bad experience here. Yes, they have occasionally been out of the beer I wanted and yes, sometimes it is impossible to stay inside because the band playing is just way too loud, but this are small blemishes. The beer selection is great, with lots of craft beers and imports. I have had the nachos here and they were good bar food. The chicken wrap was way spicier than I thought it would be, but really you aren't going for the food. Parking is best around the corner in front of the library. Plus side: it is right down the street from Skyline so you can get a coney after all the drinking! read more

I am not that impressed with the Oak Tavern. They have good chicken wings that are smoked and grilled but other than a quick take-out from time to time it does not give me the desire to hang out there. My wife had a burger there recently and it looked decent but nothing to really look forward to. I had a quesadilla and same thing, not bad but nothing special. Other than their wings, their food is just ordinary bar food. It's a sports bar atmosphere and that doesn't appeal to me very much because I don't really care about sports. But if you like local sports bars then they do have better wings than most places and if you like good beer they do have a good selection. I noticed the last time I went in to pick up some food that they have a nice selection of craft beers. They also have a nice sized patio for sitting outside in nice weather and often have live bands. I also find the crowd to be way too loud in general, but I think that is just the type of bar it is and it's not really for me. read more

Ate there last night. According to my son and husband the wings were great. I had a chicken club/shoe leather sandwich. Could not take a second bite it was so bad. read more

I have only had the wings, but they are great. If you liked smoked wings, this is the place for you. They also provide a nice variety of sauces table side, so you have the option to sample them all. read more

Former best wings ... We did a take out order of 50 wings like usual and they were dry with at least 15 being crispy black burnt. It was our bad for not checking before we left but historically this has been our favorite place for wings in Cincinnati. Not sure if there is new ownership or just incompetent cook working at 8:30 tonight. I cannot believe the cook or anyone in the kitchen would let nasty burnt wings out their door. I feel sorry for the owner. So bad this is our first review ever ... Gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because they have been great over the years. Just REALLY disappointed in the kitchen staff tonight to let that mess go out the door. Double check your order if you do carry out here. read more

casual place to go for a good drink and good wings. only reason i'm giving 4 stars and not 5 is because we had multiple servers waiting on us which was getting confusing for us and the servers. read more

One star is only because the chicken wings are good. This past visit was my 2nd and it was not only worse then the first time it infuriated m to the point of leaving before I finished my wings and beer! I am a career bar manager and bar tender so I'm always rooting for the bartender but always aware of their service faults. The bar was cluttered with paperwork so no available seats there. The bartender approached us in a sort of aggressive "I'm busy" sort of tone saying " What can I get you to drink?". He got us our 2 Miller lites, never told us his name, never said hi, sure, hey how are ya, but we were still standing there so he offered us menus. We sat the table all the way I'm the back because all the other tables were occupied. But not by people, but dirty tables and milk cases full of pre portioned sauce containers. It was 2pm and the most people there were 10 and I'm sure at least 4 girls worked there, and maybe a rep came in. The food came out quick and hot, but I had to go the bar and ask for napkins, plates etc. A young lady brought them upon my request and as she is setting down the basic things we needed, the afore mentioned bartender is shouting to her his inquiry as to what she wanted from panera bread. She responded from where she stood which was by the patio door. Our next inter action with bartender was a box and a check. He swiped the check and cash right off the table, did not ask if we needed change, "how was everything" was surely not a question this gentleman was going to ask me. As he walked Off I said to him "no change sir", he half heartedly turned his head and muttered thank you. My girlfriend and I walked out right past the bar to see if I drew any attention to myself so as to give him one more chance to put forth 1 ounce of customer service. WRONG, no bye, thank you, have a nice day. I will never return and if they ARE a night time spot they should close during the day. Bartender! If you read this I hope you own or at least manage the place because Im sure a business owner would hate to know there is a club house in his bar that you are the President of. read more
