Food was very tasty. Had their Mac n cheese, 1/2 order of meatballs and their signature salad. My husband and I shared these three items. The presentation on the rectangular plate was lovely. They offered to split the items on the two plates for us, then charged us a splitting fee. I hate that. What a joke. New Year's Eve. Restaurant half full. Came in at 7:30pm ordered appetizer of scallop and meatballs a. Never came. 8:50pm meals cane screwed up. Waiter blamed the kitchen but they never even came back to refill ice teas or waters. Waiter offered not to charge us for appetizers that never came- wow thanks for not robbing us. Never disappoints! Another great night with friends, and wonderful food and wine. The incredibly tender filet Mignon was perfect, exactly as ordered, and paired with the mushroom risotto and candied carrots, it was simply divine. We ordered a bottle of the 14 hands Merlot, which was the perfect pairing. Our server, Brian, was so prompt and efficient, never interrupted, just pure class. Another in our party opted for the Cuban Pulled Pork sandwich, which was melt-in-your-mouth good, and others ordered the bruschetta which was an instant favorite. My husband took me to Oak Barrel for my birthday dinner. We both only eat gluten free and we pleasantly surprised at all of our options. We had always loved bread with dipping oil. We ordered their GF artisan bread, it was delicious! We had the 1/2 rack of lamb & the salmon, everything was so yummy! Definitely recommend this restaurant! Great food & wonderful service. Came in for a beer and ordered wings too. The menu read 6 wings, 6 dollars. Out came the wings and there were only 4. WTF? Inquired about this shortage and the owner said that that particular menu had not been "updated." The new menu didn't read 6 wings. She made no attempt to "make it right." Not ok. Awww....this visit paled in comparison to our first. We came here on a Sunday evening for a special occasion which I mentioned when we placed our reservation. We arrived to a completely empty restaurant with no one at the front desk. We were eventually shown to our booth and waited for our waiter. Service was slow and inattentive. This is the first time we've tried the dinner menu, which is inventive and has a lot of variety. But, I am puzzled by why a side dish of some sort does not accompany the entrees....i.e., steamed veg, small salad, etc....leaves the poor entrees sitting sadly alone on the plate. The focaccia that was so fresh and piping hot the first time we were here, was cold and dry. Hub had a pasta dish which was delicious. I ordered the lamb, one of my favorite dishes, but the little chops were a bit overcooked and the reduction sauce was too thick and sweet with mint...didn't work for me but wasn't egregious enough for me to send it back. When both the waiter and manager asked how my dish was and I replied, "just okay" they smiled, said, "great," and walked off...lol. Perhaps Sundays are slow and so they are not bringing their A-game or maybe it's more of a lunch spot. Regardless, I have much love for the vibe of this place and am willing to give it another try. read more

This is a tough review to write because our server was very nice and personable. That being said my wife and I stopped in to see this restaurant for the very first time. We had already had dinner so we were just looking around and having a few drinks. Well it's doubtful that we'll return. My wife asked for a glass of the house Pinot Noir and server held up a bottle of Le Crema Pinot and told us that the owner loves this Pinot Noir. She poured my wife a glass ( a fairly measured and short pour) my wife thought it would've been much better if slightly cool and not room temperature. The wine was actually warm. All the while another customer kept getting his glass of wine refilled from what looked like to be a larger less expensive bottle of Pinot Noir. My wife and I both felt as if the Le Crema was the house Pinot when actually the server had up sold us. I really wish I could stop there. While many other restaurants offer something at the table ie bread or chips and salsa depending on where you're at. We payed 4 dollars for a fairly small basket of cold tortilla chips only to be told upon delivery to be careful because the salsa is really spicy. Regardless of that we had to send the chips back ( this is the first time we've ever sent anything back) because they were obviously very stale. The second basket was warm and fresh but my wife couldn't have any salsa because it was extremely spicy and to hot for her taste. We ended up having two glasses of what we thought was a house Pinot and imagine our shock when the bill came and the small pours of "house Pinot" cost us 13 dollars a glass! I had one drink and we were absolutely shocked when our bill came in at 44 dollars plus tip we were out the door at 50$! Simply put we really felt misled and it leaves a very bad "taste" in our mouths to come back. We truly get the feeling that their primary goal is just to generate a large ticket with high prices. In respond to your response. I appreciate your position Kristina but the bottom line is that your prices are to high and your happy hour of Wednesday and Sunday is ridiculous. What a disappointment! We had read the menu and chosen this restaurant for my husband's birthday (a family gathering) dinner on a Sunday at around 1:00. The server greeted us with apathy and set the mood for what was an all around sad experience except for the company of our grown children. They didn't even put the meat on our pasta. when we finally were able to flag down the hostess to point it out (our server never checked back with us) it was another ten minutes before we got our two meals back. Everyone else was almost done eating. It was an all around sad experience and we would never go back. We will also caution our friends to avoid it like the plague. There are too many great places to eat in the valley now to waste time and money hoping a place is going to get it together! read more

If you just want to go for drinks, they have an extensive assortment of cocktail and liquor options as well as beer and wine! Wow. This place surprised us. It is two places in one. a bar on one side and a restaurant on the other. The service was terrific. we went on a Saturday night with reservation. The setting is nothing fancy. All of the effort is put into the food. The meatball appetizer is a must have. The most creative tasty starter I have had in years. The pulled pork sandwich is an amazing take on the Cuban. Each bite had layers of fresh flavors. All on a terrific bun. I don't know that I will ever be in Eagle again. We love Oak Barrel of Eagle. Have eaten here about six times. The food is consistently delicious, they have a nice selection of wines, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Rose is amazing! Goes out of her way to make every person feel that they are taken care of. The male bartender however, (kyle) I believe his name is, is super disrespectful toward the people he works with, I can easily tell that he doesn't help with all the duty's behind the bar, he is more worried about impressing the lady than his job. I will always come back when Rose is working, if she isn't I will gladly go somewhere else without hesitation. Had dinner tonight and had a very pleasant experience. Our server Brian could not have done a better job and our meals were very good. I had the Elk fettuccine with mushroom sauce and the elk was juicy, tender, and mostly medium rare which is the way I like it. My wife had the 4 oz filet with seafood including prawns(shrimp), crab cake, and a side and all was very good. My only critique is that regular medium sized shrimp shouldn't be called prawns. The shrimp was cooked perfectly though. We also had dinner salads that were very earthy with great greens and very good. I also had a cup of the seafood chowder which was very tasty but a little on the salty side. Nice place for an intimate dinner with reasonable pricing. Next time we'll visit their bar and play some shuffleboard and pool afterward. read more

This out of the way place was pleasant to get to. We walked into the front of the building and found it very accomodating so we stayed and eat there. Very good atmosphere! I drank water with lime and the rest of my party ordered the house wine (el terra - red which was delicious) and third person loved her margarita on the rocks. Appetizers were brashetta that was very good. Main meal: I ordered the $13 house burger (first thing on the menu). I liked it so much I couldn't put it down. The side salad was my desert. The girls split the grilled elk dinner and they every morsil!! The meals filled us up. The staff and waitress were pleasant and very helpfull knowing exactly when to approach our table. This is a fairly new addition to the Eagle restaurant scene. It's in a site that has been the home of two other restaurants, 616, Willowcreek Grill, and now Oak Barrel---owned and operated locally. The décor has changed and for the better. There are booths as well as tables and it's simple. The background music is essentially South American---guitars and some tango selections which is great if you want to have a conversation. The menu is straightforward---some appetizers, salads, sandwiches and main courses. Just enough selections without being overwhelmed. There were four of us dining. We chose a bruschetta plate to share and it was ample---6 rounds of baguette slices with chopped tomato and roasted garlic with a small salad dressed with balsamic vinaigrette in the middle. One in our party chose a lighter meal of creamed tomato soup with basil and a salad---both very generous servings. Another choice was salmon with an herbed sauce---very fresh, and from the Columbia River. My husband and I shared flat iron steak with a chimichurri sauce, very tender, flavorful and served with fingerling potatoes and roasted asparagus. Dessert choices were Key Lime Pie and Chocolate Mousse. Both delicious! We found our server to be very helpful, prompt and courteous. The owner also visited our table to inquire about our food experience and also helped in delivering glasses of wine. Our server also gave us some tastings of two wines so that we could make a decision on what to select. All in all this was a memorable dining experience. Everyone enjoyed their food and especially the friendly customer service. It's nice to have another good dining option in Eagle and this is a restaurant we will definitely visit again! read more

Quality of food was quite good considering it was a Mother's Day Brunch buffet. Good variety and nice preparation. Server was efficient and attentive, but after that things just fell apart. Buffet line not well maintained. Ran dry of many selections for extended periods of time (almost inexcusable given the modest crowd). Second line staff didn't appear to be well trained and probably amplified some of the issues to be expected with a holiday meal. Table linens hadn't been changed between settings and showed it. May give them another chance at some point, given the food quality, but lots to work on. read more

Our waitress was very pleasant; service was timely; GREAT lamb sandwich with jus; the kids had burgers, very reasonably priced and nicely done with awesome French fries on the side; my daughter insisted that I include that "the crispy French fires were very good!" My wife and I love this place! We have brought several parties and everybody has loved it. We are impressed with the home cooking with local fresh ingredients, good oils and house-made dressings. Their gluten-free homemade bread is even tasty. Good drink options for every type of connoisseur and it's quiet in the dining area! The restaurant has a very upscale yet comfortable atmosphere that distinguishes it from many of the other places we've been to around town. The menu offered a good variety of options without being overwhelming and dinner prices were reasonable, ranging from about $13-32. The food quality and presentation was top notch - I got the Cuban pulled pork sandwich and it was phenomenal. I also tried the hand-pressed burger that my wife ordered and the flavor was just amazing, hats off to the kitchen staff. The service from the staff was impeccable. Our drinks were always full, the food was brought out in a very reasonable amount of time, and when we were ready for the check it only took a few minutes tops. The owners, Kristina and Mark, stopped by our table a few times throughout the night to check in on us, they were very friendly and it seems like they take a genuine interest in making sure everyone has a good experience. Overall we had a great time and would highly recommend Oak Barrel of Eagle, we'll definitely be back again! read more

I'm giving them one star because I can't give them zero stars. We went into the restaurant about 3 PM and waited to be seated as the sign suggested. After standing there for five minutes I went and found someone to seat us. She brought us menus and water and said someone would be with us shortly. After 15 minutes waiting and with three different employees walking by and constantly looking at us with no offer to help we left. As we walked out we noticed that there were no other customers inside. So in 15 minutes they couldn't even help the only customers in the place. read more

I really want to give this a higher rating. It's a good concept, has a great patio, jovial service and good location. But, the menu is a little old-school IMO, and the food just isn't noteworthy. Caprese salad: the only with discernable taste was a cloying balsamic dressing overtly drizzled on Trout: heavily breaded which masked virtually all the flavor of the delicate fish, and a bland butter sauce Filet mignon: pretty tasteless Vegetable sides: brussel sprouts were the best with some sun-dried tomatoes but needed salt and an acid; roasted asparagus looked and tasted boiled and had virtually no flavor; red potatoes were somewhat crispy but not seasoned well Wine selection / pricing: pretty good, somewhat curated, and the best part of the place, along with the patio. I think they need to redo the entire menu and rethink the chef's techniques. Then this would be worth a revisit. It's worth fighting for - Eagle needs a wine bar and bistro like they imagined here, but just better executed. read more

We ate there and spent $80 for two of us. We both had entries and salad and I had 2 glasses of wine.....well we heard 50% of people liked it so if you like those odds try it...but unfortunately this restaurant will be done and gone. My salad her salad was not as good as the Cracker Barrel, speaking of Barrels. My fish was burnt and dry and her rack of lamb were good meat but tasteless. I enjoyed the wine but if you are a bread lover....and you like Wonder Bread like rolls you will love the bread......soft and mushy as opposed to fresh crisp bread just amazed me for a restaurant that is fairly high priced. So we keep hoping for an everyday restaurant in Eagle we can visit regularly but will have go downtown for a decent meal.....this restaurant to my knowledge did not have a REAL chef, just a sign outside because the way our food was prepared......well, that spoke for us.
