This is the first time back at this store in 4 years, maybe 5. I stopped coming here because the employees always had a scowl on their face and came across as rude to me. Made me feel like I was bothering them so I stuck to Amazon. Today, I needed new wiper blades and I couldn't wait for 2 day shipping. I was prepared for a rude interaction. I didn't see any of the employees from before. The young man who helped me was super nice! He even offered to help install the wiper blades (took him up on the offer). Horrible experience !! The Redmond Way store at 171st. Redmond, Wa; sold me the wrong engine oil filter for a Chevy. What could be easier to look up ?? There was perfect information supplied, and this guy just could not make it happen. The entire nightmare was exacerbated by Manager Stan, who could not have done a worse job of mishandling this situation. In two other stores, the correct part was easily identified rapidly. My car's indicators were coming on and resetting the computer/disconnecting my battery for a bit worked to no avail. I was recommended this location by a coworker and I am so glad I listened. I called an Autozone closer to me about a diagnostic check and he said, "Come by when I'm more staffed" like how the hell would I know when that is? I called this location and was told to come by any time I would like and that I'd be taken care of. I truly was. I didn't get her name but my receipt says Dani, and she helped me figure out that my battery was dying on me. She also recommended a location nearby for an installation but we came back to buy and install it ourselves instead. The manager actually installed it for us, on his own accord in less than 3 minutes. Could not be more thrilled and I will definitely be coming back whenever I need something for my car. They helped me in a pinch and were willing to stay open a few minutes late when I got stuck (dead battery) on my way to them. I do wish we'd had time to test my alternator (which I found out later might not actually have needed replacing...I guess now I'll never know since I was desperate to get my car running asap, and everyone I spoke with thought that it must be the alternator, but it's mostly my fault that I didn't delay the repair to find out for sure.) I've used them for various battery-related things as well as gotten random minor repair advice, and they've always been helpful. But I especially appreciated them not letting me get abandoned that night with a barely functioning car. I had a negative experience at a different location a few years ago, but I don't have complaints about this location. Grateful for the longer hours as well. read more

THE ABSOLUTE WORST. Completely incompetent, rude, and sexist. Would give ZERO stars if I could. We were told to wait for a call about our purchase but they never called. Came back and were condescended to and dismissed by an old man who mumbled rudely about us under his breath. These people are complete and total a**holes. read more

The helpfulness and friendliness of the staff has stood out to me each time I've stopped in. Whether I know what I need or not they ask or offer to double check. They have installed and disposed of batteries, offer instruction on how to replace lights, and pretty sure they would have replaced my wipers had I asked. They warned me once that the LED bulbs I was buying were expensive, that there was a cheaper option and what the pros and cons were. I noticed some things being $2-4 more than amazon, but I also noticed some reviews expressing suspicion about the amazon products they received compared to what they got at the auto store. I feel more at ease coming here and the customer service also makes tinkering with my car more tolerable. read more

Great offering of material but I went in to buy oil and the cashier continually paused helping customers in the store to submit special orders via phone. It took twenty minutes to get out of the store. Was helped quickly when another staff member entered the store, but would be helpful to have a policy to help the folks waiting line so you don't have a huge back up especially for such a small purchase. Less than stellar customer service from a place that historically has been extremely helpful. read more

I came home to a dead battery. After getting a jump I headed over to O'Reilly's per recommendation from my friend to get the battery checked. Gina was fantastic, patient and friendly. She removed the battery, charges it, tested it and deemed it still good and sent me on my way. She's fantastic and so glad that she was able to help me today. She saved my day!! read more

I've had good experiences with O'Reilly stores in the past and this one was no different. Needed screws, rivets and nuts to attach a lower valance lip on my car. Came in and Peter helped me find the pieces I needed, he checked to make sure the sizes were correct, so patient and helpful. They let me borrow a screwdriver also! I had trouble attaching the piece and another great employee named Anakin (spelling?) was nice enough to help me install it. Such great customer service from these guys, they go out of their way to help you out. Don't hesitate to go here for your car needs, and ask for Peter/Anakin if you need help! Exceeded expectations. I drive a 2004.5 Volvo S40 T5 and I had a bizarre issue where my two rear-windows would roll down on their own. I'd return to my Volvo and the rear-windows would be down and THAT IS NOT OKAY. After Googling the issue, I decided my first bet to be cost effective but find the solution was to replace the batteries in my FOBs. I don't know why, but the Internet told me to do so. This leads me to my first issue, in which the last time I replaced the batteries in my FOB was my first time doing it and I broke the keys so I had them scotch taped together instead of being screwed together. Lisa, the fabulous associate, helped me not only replace my FOB batteries by repaired my key to not need tape on it. I was so grateful. I had to return later the same day though, because the issue persisted. My second guidance from the Internet stated I needed to replace my car's battery. The second time I went in, Ahmed helped me promptly check my battery. We popped the hood and he didn't even need to check it before saying "I can tell that's a bad battery." We tested it. It was a bad battery. Ahmed was very nice. He told me he worked part-time at a Volvo dealership and I should take my Volvo to get a battery through Volvo. I asked him if O'Reilly had any equivalents that I could use instead of going through Volvo. He said yes, and I asked him if I could buy one and that if he could put it in my car for me. He said yes to both. I bought one, and Ahmed single handedly replaced my battery and took the old battery. I could've spent oodles of money on an issue that was fixed with $160, because yes, my mysterious window rolling down on their own issue went away. Yay to Lisa and Ahmed. Yay all around. This place was the first of many auto part shops that offered to install my purchase for free. I went in and looked into buying new parts for my car e.g. spark plugs, cabin and engine air filters. Even though I had no problems replacing them on my own, a very nice staff JJ offered to install the engine air filter for me and he did such a great job. I didn't mind getting a second person to look at my car just to make sure I didn't overlook other important maintenance work. After he installed the engine air filter, he also examined other areas of my car. What a nice guy! Make sure to ask for him when you stop by here. Do as much of your own car maintenance as you can. There are so many simple things that you can do and save a lot of money. Also, when you do the replacement yourself, you know the quality of the part you put into your car. There is a wide range of quality for auto parts. I like the fact that O'Reilly carries the Wix brand filters. read more

I went in to purchase replacement bulbs for my headlights and upon walking in one employee was ranting about people not following procedure because he was unable to find a part. I get that procedures exist for a reason but maybe save the ranting for when customers aren't there waiting. When I finally received help from the other employee, I ask if they'll help me replace the bulb. The response I get is "If its simple enough." Well, okay. So I then follow up with "What is simple enough?" I guess she didn't hear me or really didn't want to help because that question went unanswered. Needless to say, she didn't help me replace the headlight bulb. tl;dr I got what I needed but service could drastically be improved. read more

I go to this place because it's convenient to go there when I go grocery shopping at the QFC just next door. It would be even more convenient if I could receive the right product the first time I ask for it, but everyone makes mistakes right? There have been 2 or 3 times when I've went in to buy certain oil and windshield wipers that they have looked up my specific car in their system and still sold me the wrong product. I went in to buy a new car battery and I have never had more helpful service!! Those guys helped me for about an hour getting my old battery out and about 2 minutes getting my new battery in. I was so thankful to have a bit of help as I could never have done this on my own at home- no way!! They provided helpful, professional service without hesitation or complaint (it was pretty cold out) and honestly in this day and age it just doesn't get better than that. My windshield wiper broke during the freeze last week, and as we all know, Seattle doesn't stay dry for long. I popped over to O'Reilly dangerously close to sundown with the intention of buying new wiper blades and installing them myself the next day. Luckily, the kind folks behind the counter knew better and offered to install them for me! They made sure they were the correct size and type (because I had no clue.) I'm so thankful they did because my car is terribly finicky and thwarted our collective efforts to get the blades on. The sun set, and I was terribly embarrassed because we were tooling around in the dark due to my poor planning; I offered to leave and come back the next day when we had day light. And this is where the 5 stars comes in...they wouldn't let me walk of shame out of there without windshield wiper blades on my car! With a headlamp and determination, they discovered a different type of blade would suit my car's particular taste! With the most satisfying click in the world, they slid my brand new windshield wiper blades on and refunded me the difference between the previous ones we tried! Incredible service! I trust these guys to get the job done, day or night. I went in without experience changing the oil in my car. I felt very intimidated going in and expected to have a bunch of men talking down to me. I was however, fortunate enough to have Jeff's assistance. He is obviously a car expert and is super encouraging. He not only helped me find what I needed to change the oil, but he gave me a helpful recommendation of how to deal with a head gasket leak. I went in yesterday to buy new wipers for my 2007 Yaris. The sign in the window said "Free Wiper Installation" so I thought "why not?" When I paid for the wipers I asked the guy at the counter if they would install them. His words to me were, and I quote: "We do if they're easy." So much for the sign in the window.
