Great place! I came here a year or so ago, and the guy tested the first battery he installed and he decided it wasn't good enough (one cell was low), so on his own he pulled it and put in another one. (He said he's only seen it happen once before.) Not every shop would do that. And the price is right, including installation. I let the pickup sit unused over the winter. This summer, it was having difficulty keeping a charge. I wasn't sure if it was battery or alternator. "JD" at Budget Batteries voluntarily tested both for me. Clearly, he said, it was the alternator (only putting out 8.9v, should be 12-13v). Then, because my battery was near-dead and not charging (from the bad alternator), he went out of his way and put in a "loaner" battery for me to use to get to the repair shop and fix my alternator! Wow, that's 5-star service, way beyond the call of duty. I brought it back the next day, and he'd charged the original battery, working fine. Highly recommended! read more

This little shop is awesome! I've been here twice,one to test a battery from one of my vintage motorcycles and the last and second to buy a new battery for my car. Both times were great service and efficiency. They cleaned my battery cables and around really good. They also sprayed some battery terminal maintainer to keep my battery fresh! The downside to having a 32 year old RV is things are constantly needing replaced and repaired. It's especially annoying when you just can't get it to start and know how inept you are at mechanical repairs. Thankfully this place was open early in a Saturday morning and JD dropped in a new battery in no time for a great rate... Bought a refurbished battery 7 months ago, guy said it was warranted for a full year, but should last well beyond that. Six months later when the cold weather hits the battery is dead multiple times. When I go back in for a battery that works, the same guy just wants to argue, saying the warranty is "limited" and the best he can do is a $25 credit toward another battery. When I asked him why this wasn't disclosed when I was trying to decide whether to get a new battery, he just points to the words "Limited Warranty" on the battery. Since he refused to replace met battery with a working refurbished battery, I decide to take the credit toward a new one. And then he charges me for the 5 min. of labor to put the new one in. Stay away from this place if you expect a good product and good, honest service - you won't find it here - just an argument about their inferior products. read more

This is a great business that gives value where the other battery dealers are charging too much. The cost is less than Costco and Les Schwab, while O'Reilly, AutoZone and Interstate Batteries don't even come close. There's only 2 battery manufacturers in the U.S. that all battery retailers buy from, so prices should be more similar than they are. Budget 's expertise may well be in renewing/rebuilding old batteries and placing warranties on them. Their warranty is good, and they'll replace the battery without incident if it stalls before the warranty is up. Their margins are slim because they hire only one employee per store, so they can afford to be the lowest cost provider. That employee is well trained, and can generally solve any battery problem you may have, including the best low-cost option for your situation. You can call ahead to see when they're open and if they have the battery in stock that works for your car. And you can buy a less expensive one-year-warrantee battery (versus the five-year one) if you don't plan on owning your vehicle for too much longer. If they are waiting for a shipment, they'll tell you when it will arrive. I already had a bracket to hold my new battery in place; they installed it, and all the other hardware needed to get the battery situated in its proper place, for basically no charge. Bought a "new" refurbished battery from the Tacoma location and have had problems ever since. Has less then half life left on the battery and two of there locations refuse to replace or give me my money back saying all these test done else where are full of it. So won't be buying from them again. read more

This place used to be good. I remember going there a few times and the guy working there tested my battery and told me he would like to sell me a battery but that wasn't my problem. Eventually, I did buy several batteries through the years from the place. That was 2013 or earlier. Fast forward to January 2014. I go there with a motorcycle battery to replace if it needs to be. I tell the guy that and he finds a battery to sell me without testing the one I brought in. I ask him if he can test it. He goes through the motions of reading with a meter. (The guy before had tested the liquid in the cells also), he says yeah I need a new one. I had told him what type of motorcycle it was going on. He sells it to me and tells me it needs to charge overnight. I do happen to have a charger, so I do that, I put it on the motorcycle. It still isn't working. I figure it is something wrong with the bike. I mess with the spark plug cables and lots of other things. I put it aside for a few months. Long story short, I find out in May that the guy sold me the wrong battery. It has the positive on the wrong side! And when I hooked it up I couldn't tell because the + and - are on top of the battery out of sight and the cables are just long enough to make it to the battery terminals and I had assumed he had given me the correct battery, so I go back and tell him that. The battery is still under warranty but the guy won't give me another even though it is his mistake. I wound up going to Twinline, where I should have gone the first time. do yourself a favor: DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE ! I had a bad battery on my truck , bought a new one from this store for $124 , ran my truck for 2 days, the battery was dead again . when to my ford dealer , they said the "budget batteries" battery can not hold the charge , does not have enough amp to crank the engine , they checked my alternator and it is working just fine . and they put on their own battery , its been almost 2 weeks now and my truck starts like a champ . my advice is dont use budget batteries , they only sell you junks . Especially this store Rainier ave south near I-90 ramp , the guy is a joke, i came to complained about his bad battery and ask for solution maybe return maybe store credit , he jumped around like..well you get my idea .
