Needed to install an inverter and get a "Big 3" upgrade in my truck so I stopped by the shop and wound up talking to the owner, Charles, about it. He was personable and took interest in my project and over time I made a deposit and we set up a time for the work to be done. Day of service and my tech was Horhay who was knowledgeable and mindful before entering into his work. After installation of the inverter cable from battery to rear of the cab he took me through his work sharing what he did and why. We also discussed the scope of what would be required for a future install of the "Big 3" and I left grateful at the competency I'd just experienced. When some people complain about cost, but the business is booked for the next six weeks, it tells you the quality of work is top notch. And despite my limited budget, quality was what I was after. However, I didn't expect the friendliness and accommodation I received. I arrived with a sound issue and the owner said they could look at my car to identify the problem but were booked out for the next six weeks so I'd have to wait to get the work done. He also reviewed their minimum cost, which wasn't cheap but also wasn't astronomical. While one of his technicians was diagnosing my car, he took me around the shop and showed me the work they do. It was obvious that he absolutely loves what they do, and takes great pride in the work. When they discovered the acoustical problem, he offered to get it done for me the next day because he said that it was a small enough job and would work a little longer to squeeze me in. I was floored. My small potatoes problem was barely worth their time at all, and not only did he agree to help me anyway, but he fit me in immediately, which was unbelievable considering all the work they had in the garage. The best part is the sound system in my Audi A7 now sounds great, and I can now enjoy it every day. Thank you! read more

These guys do extremely high quality work- very clean and discreet, while also having the creativity to work around some of the nuances and complexities a vintage truck will present. Everything works perfectly and my system sounds great. I was a little nervous going into this, as I had used another competitor previously for my 1972 Chevy truck and the results were subpar. Ever wonder why when you walk into Systems Unlimited there are exotic cars or very high end projects being done? It's because they are the best. They can be trusted to work on these cars and do these big installs. I came to them for a Radenso + ALP install on my brand new Ferrari 812 SuperFast. That would be a radar detector and laser jammer setup. I was very clear that I DID NOT want the jammer heads to be seen, and they were more than happy to accommodate this. I also thew them a curveball wanting to put the controller head in a location that isn't common for these cars. Normally they are installed in the little cubby area below the reverse, auto, and PS buttons. This makes them hard to reach from the driver position, and you have to look down and completely away from the road to see the buttons and screen. Other installers will put it on the side of the driveshaft tunnel where you absolutely can't see the buttons. I requested them to put it below my other vehicle controls, also where I could easily see the screen through the steering wheel. They were more than happy to accomplish this. I dropped my car off and went over the whole install with them. They brought the car in and got started on it a couple days later while they finished up a couple other jobs. They made sure to completely tape up and cover in plastic any area near where they were working to prevent against any scratches, dings, or mars. They accomplished the rear jammer head install first, hiding the heads behind where my rear reflectors were. They use a black smoked acrylic for a stealthy touch, and it matches the car a lot better than the red. I was able to stop by and check it out, and grab pictures while they were doing this. At this time we also talked about smoking my side markers, which they were happy to do while doing the radar detector and laser jammer install. They very professionally disassembled the car to make sure and hide all the wires and run them without excessive lengths of wire left behind. All the wires are also wrapped in a wire loom, and not the cheap plastic corrugated stuff either. Everything at Systems Unlimited is premium. We ended up with 3 jammer heads on the rear of the car for extra coverage. They began on the front of the car, removing the front bumper and working on installing the front jammer heads in suitable locations. They were able to use factory bolt holes for all of the mount locations to avoid drilling into my car. After that, they ran those wires into the passenger cabin, making sure to only use the amount of wire they would need, and also wrapping it in a quality wire loom. With all the jammer heads and radar detector heads mounted, it was time to figure out the controller head. This is the part that took the longest as they had to custom design a piece, and then make sure it fit perfectly. Once they had a perfectly fit piece they used body filler to mold it perfectly against the dash. There were no holes drilled in the dash either, they were able to run the wire to the controller along the dash where you can't see it, and then into the dash in a natural opening. This was very key as I really didn't want my dash destroyed in the process if I ever wanted it removed (I won't). At the end of the install they made sure everything was functional, did all the updates necessary, and cleaned up the car. I was very impressed overall with the quality and condition of the install. Was it more expensive than other quotes I got? Yes, but it sure as hell was worth every penny. No other 812SF has an install like mine, and I think my car has the BEST radar/laser install of any Ferrari 812 out there. No visible jammer heads hanging off the car, less hassle from the cops down the road. TL;DR Systems Unlimited does the BEST job in the area, and can certainly be trusted with your car to do an amazing job. They are not going to be the cheapest, but their work is very high quality and is great value for what you get. I will certainly be back with other cars, and have be recommending them to everyone. read more

I took my BMW X6 in to get a dash cam system installed after researching quite a bit on a reputable place to get the work done. They do quite a bit of high-end work on some exotic cars but Charles and his crew made me feel like my request didn't take a back seat. There is something special to say about Charles and the team at Systems Unlimited. The craftsmanship alone speaks volumes to me, but the entire process from quote to install, was one of the best car experiences I've ever had! I normally don't write Yelp reviews (this is my 1st one), but I feel like Systems Unlimited really deserved a callout! My car feels fresh and exciting, like the feeling of driving it off the lot for the first time, and I haven't put this much mileage in my car in a long time, which is saying a lot!! I love showing off my new sound system to my friends and family. When I first called Systems Unlimited, I was greeted by Charles and we spoke about installing a new car receiver I purchased for my 2013 Subaru Impreza WRX. I really wanted to ditch my stock setup and I was curious about what type of system I could install in my car. Charles was extremely informative! For him to get a better understanding of what would work best for my car, he asked for me to come swing by the shop at my convenience. When I arrived at the shop, Charles greeted me when I pulled in. It was extremely casual, and it was quite insightful hearing Charles talk about his shop and some of his past installations, which I could tell he was passionate about. He gave me a complete overview of the facilities, showed me the gear locker, and even gave me a few demos. I felt Charles was honest and he spent time explaining to me my options and suggested a few solutions based on the budget range I gave him. The biggest takeaway I got after my initial appointment was every car has their own quirks. I knew this wasn't going to be some quick, fast and just slap it in there type of install. This installation was going to be something tailored to my specific vehicle, and my specific wants/needs; I can't understate this enough. This place will be pricier than a place like Car Toys, but it is 350% worth it!! I knew my install wouldn't of been as expensive/lavish as some of their other builds (Ferrari, Porsches,etc.), but I was treated with respect as if my car was a Ferrari and after seeing their craftsmanship, I felt like I was driving one! When it came time to my installation appointment, there was about 4-5 inches of snow on the ground and "Snowmageddon" was upon us. I was worried that I was going to have to push out my installation date, but luckily my car has AWD (I love my Subaru :D). When I reached the shop, Jorge was the only one there and he greeted me and opened the shop doors. After I pulled my car into the shop, Jorge offered to give me a ride back to my work during the snowstorm, talk about an amazing gesture!! During the car ride, I got to learn a bit more about Jorge and we talked casually about my installation. He was extremely patient and answered all of my questions , and he even gave me some tips on the new receiver I bought for my car (Pioneer AVH4200NEX), since he had the same one in his Jeep! This interaction really solidified my confidence in Systems Unlimited and I was beyond excited to hear my new car system! After about 4-5days, I received a call from Charles letting me know that my custom sub enclosure was going to be a bit delayed due to the weather, but the rest of the installation went flawlessly, and they can give me a loaner sub until my enclosure arrives. Again, talk about amazing customer support/service. When I arrived at the shop, I couldn't believe the difference in how well my car sounded! Jorge showed me a ton of pictures of the whole process, and it was pretty cool seeing my gutted cabin before and after all the installations. He went over all the work he did over the past few days, and I could tell that he takes a lot of pride in his work, because it SHOWS! The wiring/crimping/cable management looked factory stock, and everything looked sooooooo clean! This really made me excited. Everything was tucked away so neatly, and when he asked me to sit in the car, he told me to find my subwoofer fader/volume knob. I spent a good minute searching all the obvious places where someone could install a knob, but I couldn't find it for the life of me. Jorge was grinning in the passenger seat and he asked me to feel underneath the steering wheel. Low and behold, underneath my steering wheel was a little knob tucked neatly next to the lever to adjust the steering wheel height (I attached a picture). Not only was this a genius use of space design, but it also makes it easier to adjust the sub volume when I'm driving (+ the added bonus of being completely hidden)!! It's easy to cut corners with something like audio or car upgrades, but I'm telling you...when you hear/see the quality difference, you'll be glad you spent the extra $ for your vehicle. It will be an experience that is unique to your wants and needs, and more importantly, your car. One year ago I took my Audi S3 in for a custom radar/laser install. This is the second car I've had done by Charles and his crew and there is a reason. They are perfect. They excel at what they do and cut no corners. You will pay more than their competitors and it is worth every penny because these guys are more than technicians, they are artists. Over the years I've taken my vehicles to several local businesses to have sound systems installed. Everything from the big chains like Car Toys to small independent shops. Systems Unlimited is the first place that exceeded my expectations both in terms of knowledgeable staff and quality of work. My first interaction was with Mike, one of the installers. He listened carefully to my requirements and helped draft a plan to install a system tailored for sound quality. This included deadening the doors, running new power and speaker cable and installing component speakers and amps. My second interaction was with Charles (the Owner). He also proved to be a reliable source of information and recommended some high quality but not exorbitantly expensive gear. When I dropped off the vehicle in the morning, he even offered to drive me to work -- a nice touch that was very appreciated (though I had already arranged for a ride). Upon picking up my vehicle I was honestly surprised by how clean Mike's work on the car was. He flush mounted the tweeters into the wing panels and the install looks stock -- very clean fit and finish. He also installed a control dial for the subwoofer amp into a blank switch panel on my dash -- again it looks stock in every way. His attention to detail in the wiring and mounting is the best I've seen at a car audio place. The system sounds great - everything from acoustic Jazz to EDM and rock. Heck even NPR sounds great. I love having the tweeters up at ear level. The mid-bass is clean, the bass is powerful but articulate (and I can tune it to the genre at the touch of a dial). The sound quality is crystal clear at all listening levels -- and that includes approaching "uncomfortably loud". The sound deadening in the doors really made a difference and there are no rattles (Mike even deadened the license plate, which was prone to vibration). I will definitely return to Systems Unlimited in the future. They recently moved to a new location underneath Subway on Northup Way. For some reason this wiped out all their prior Yelp reviews, which I consulted before choosing them. I heartily recommend them if you are looking to improve the quality of the sound in your vehicle. Re: Compustar Remote Start + Security Installation on 2015 Lexus IS250. I spoke to Charles and let him know what type of security features I wanted for my vehicle. He promptly called me back and gave me a detailed quote as well as answered all of my questions. I appreciated his quick response and scheduled a future appointment for the install. (Side note: I already called a few other local places: Benchmark, Stereo Centro, HID Kitpros and either never got a response and I was even told by someone at Benchmark that they only do 1-2 security installations a year since they mainly focus on audio systems..... And then he proceeded to tell me to call Car Toys). WTF?? So glad I chose Systems Unlimited. Jorge did my installation and he did a great job. The day I picked up my vehicle Jorge patiently answered all of my questions and explained to me how to use the keyfob/features. During that time he also let me know that he could make an adjustment (if I wanted) to have the alarm automatically arm itself after a certain amount of time (in case I forgot to arm it myself). That's a BONUS for me since I have a tendency to do that :) We set up a time for me to come back 2 days later since he couldn't do it that same day which was no biggie. 2 days later I show up and Jorge starts to work on my car. Mind you, he's the only employee at the shop at this time and he was troubleshooting issues with his laptop connection as well as helping another customer who came in to pick up her vehicle/pay her bill while still trying to work on my vehicle all at once (god bless him). All was good and he had my car done in no time. Once again, Jorge patiently explained to me how to use the feature and answered all of my questions (some repetitive) but he never made me feel rushed and took his time which I really appreciated. Before leaving I inquired about a simple/basic upgrade to my current audio system and what my options would be. Jorge showed me exactly what/where he could install amp/subwoofer/controls within my vehicle and he let me listen to a sound system that he installed as well as showed me pictures of past custom audio installs that he's done. I think I was there for about another half an hour before I realized what time it was. Needless to say, if you need an alarm or custom audio system, ask for Jorge. It is obvious that he's passionate about his work and takes pride in it. He is very meticulous and his attention to detail is immaculate. You will not be disappointed. (I will say, the one minor thing that I wish I could change is not having to carry 2 keyfobs (Lexus & Compustar), a small EZ Go remote on top of the 4 keys that I already do carry). Systems Unlimited did a superb job installing a sound system, back up camera, and internal sound deadening to my SUV. Not only did they come in on budget (even with a few extra time-intensive tweaks they decided were important), Charles, Mike, and Jorge and were kind, professional and went the extra mile to do a perfect installation. I wanted to tweak the graphic EQ of the DSP amp and Mike set up his computer and spent as much time as I felt necessary, listening to songs I knew and making subtle changes I wanted. The system sounds incredible and looks better than stock. I would recommend this shop highly if you want a top notch installation with a crew that really knows what they are doing. Charles is great, he hardwired a radar detector into my car, also upgraded the stereo without having to change the factory head unit. This makes it look completely stock but the sound is amazing. We installed a couple of nice amplifiers, some Morel speakers front and rear and a nice Alpine subwoofer in the back. The sound is amazing, and craftsmanship is second to none. What I appreciated the most is that Charles never tried to oversell me on anything. Just a clean and tidy installation that nobody will even notice as everything is hidden away. My original review from 08/12/2013: (moved review to their current location so that it might be helpful to other Yelpers) One of the first things I did after buying my new car was take it to Car Toys to get better front speakers. What a mistake! I bought top of the line (top of the line for Car Toys), but could not tell any difference in the sound. I mentioned this to the amazing Sally when I was at University Volkswagen and she recommended giving Systems Unlimited a try in Bellevue. I took my car there and spoke with Charles. Within about a half hour, we shook hands on a very reasonable deal that would have my car sounding better than most. Charles and his crew took out the front speakers and I returned them to Car Toys. Charles replaced those with Dynaudio Esotars. In the back, he put Dynaudio Esotecs and built an enclosure for an Arc Audio Black subwoofer. They then deadened the doors so you wouldn't hear me coming down the street 6 blocks away. They were able to source a factory backup camera available only on European models of the Volkswagen that I have. It replaces my VW symbol with a motorized one. The VW symbol hides the camera until I shift into reverse. The found the best price and were more than fair on labor when it came to installing the camera. I picked up my car today and could not be more happy. It sounds amazing!!! And nobody can tell because it is all hidden and still looks stock. I could not have asked for better customer service either. They came and picked me up at the bus station. They took me out to lunch. They stuck with the price we shook on -- which would have been double what the other so-called high-end places would have charged. They stuck with their quote on labor. They will be the only place I ever go to get electronic goodies placed in my car. Don't go to some place just because your dealership tells you to. Or, at least stop by Systems Unlimited and listen to what Charles and his awesome crew have in store for you. Ask Charles to show you the before and after photos of the black Ferrari -- one of many Ferraris that they have installed systems in. Then decide if you want to treat your car right, or if you want it to be abused by the other guys. Do you truly want the best speaker system? Or do you want something that you have been told is the best? My Volkswagen was sitting next to a Bentley. The Bentley's budget for a sound system was 5 times my budget, but I still got the same awesome treatment and customer service as the owner of the Bentley. I can't recommend them enough. My follow-up review on 09/03/2015: A quick follow-up to my original review two years ago. The backup camera stopped working suddenly, so I gave Systems Unlimited a call. C fit me into their schedule and I drove in to see if we could figure out what happened. Within an hour, M had taken apart the back hatch, discovered a broken wire, and fixed it and had me on my way. I used Systems Unlimited for the first time and couldn't be happier with the results. I would definitely recommend them for your high end car audio and marine audio needs. I had an audio system with smartphone support installed by another car audio outfit that had failed. I decided to try Systems Unlimited to upgrade the audio system and met with the owner, Charles. You could immediately tell Charles was passionate about car and marine audio and he spent time explaining to me my options and his suggested solution. I felt Charles was really honest and he recommended replacing some components to upgrade my audio experience while keeping others because replacing them would not materially improve my experience. At my appointment they made the upgrades to the system including the failed main unit and I was super happy with the results. Charles even re-crimped some wiring that was done by a prior shop to ensure they had the best connection and would last. Charles completely stands behind his work for equipment he installs as detailed in other Yelp posts. The Unlimited team did an outstanding job sound deadening and substantially upgrading the audio in my M2. You can't tell anything was done by looking, and now it sounds as good as it drives. Just had an install done by systems unlimited. I had what i would consider alot of money for me, install done and this was a very small project for these guys. I interacted with both Charles and the installer Nelson. Both guys were super cool and really seemed to want to do things right and make sure I was happy. I had been doing a lot of research trying to find someone honest who mostly would not destroy my vehicle and do the job right. Believe it or not this is very hard to find in the Seatlle area. I eventually found Systems Unlimited and called and spoke with Charles on the phone. I was not really sure what I needed/wanted as I am not car audio professional. I do have a back round in studio/reference audio so really I only knew that I wanted good clean audio and an interface that would allow me to use all my devices and GPS. Charles was very helpful and extremely knowledgable about audio imaging and getting things to sound amazing. Other places I spoke with were only interested in selling there highest price stuff they could talk me into and installing it as quick as possible with almost no thought on speaker placement sound suppression material or imaging quality. (Let me add my opinion that buying expensive speakers of any brand and pointing them at your ankles does nothing for good audio.) I love my vehicle and I was really concerned about the install being done poorly as this had happened to me in the past in another state and cause all kinds of electrical issues in my vehicle. These guys did everything perfect to last detail. They even thought about placement, good hidden placement of the little things like GPS antennas and switches and even did a custom USB port for me. If you have interest in getting the best high quality audio in the vehicle/boat you love just call or stop by and talk to Charles and you wont be sorry. He will not only be honest and upfront about pricing but will do everything he can to design and excellent audio/video system to meet your needs. Consider yourself an audiophile? Loud expensive speakers wont prove it, but expensive speakers or systems combined with good imaging and clean crisp multi channel audio will. Most importantly they do things right here and seem very honest and you dont have to worry about shotty work or poor installation. Also, all the custom work/fabrication/sound materials they do are pretty amazing. It is so refreshing to do business with a shop that understands what "Customer Service" means. It's also very rare these days. Systems Unlimited in Bellevue knows what Customer Service means. When you first go there you see the cleanest place around with Bentley's and Lamborghini's in their bays. Yet they made time for me and my old Chevy Monte Carlo. I brought it in after another shop botched an install with very pricey component system that did not sound good and also introduced a terrible vibration in the doors. They sold me the correct equipment for my car at a very fair price and were very respectful of my budget. They corrected all the problems with the wiring, did the best sound dampening job in the doors, eliminated the vibration and tuned my system. My car sounds fantastic. Can you say attention to detail?
