Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. What should have been a simple battery warranty claim turned into a two-hour waste of my time. The battery was sold with a 5-year warranty, yet it failed in less than 3 years. Their testing showed the battery would only charge to 12.5 volts--roughly 75% state of charge on an AGM battery--even after they had it on a charger for four days before testing. Instead of honoring the warranty, I was first told the battery was "good to go." When I challenged that conclusion, they tried to blame the vehicle's alternator despite providing no convincing evidence that the charging system was the problem. The explanation simply didn't make sense. I've been an FAA-certified aviation mechanic for more than 50 years. I'm not easily impressed by technical jargon, and I know the difference between a valid diagnosis and an excuse. In the end, they denied the warranty claim and repeatedly fell back on "company policy" without offering any logical justification. Poor customer service, poor diagnostics, and no willingness to stand behind the product they sold. I left with the same bad battery I came in with and two hours of my life I won't get back. Came in to get a specific battery and there store is unmanned and closed. They say they open at Friday 8am however, I've been waiting for 30 minutes and yet there's still no one here. Batteries plus took 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back, and for that, I won't return. Friyay turned into Frinay. Update: they actually opened up the store late although two employees were simply siting him the back with the front door locked. Went in and they do not have the battery I needed CR2354. This store has two jobs they failed at stocking a decent supply of common batteries and opening when they say they will. I won't be back. Good luck to anyone coming here in the future. They didn't have the exact car battery which would have fit my car and it would have taken them a week for them to get a replacement. So he tested my battery and found that it could die at any moment. Hence I ended up buying the battery at Autozone but Sam was kind enough to install it for me. I was blown away by how helpful and kind the folks at Battery plus were ( Sam in particular). Contrast this with Autozone from whom I bought my new battery and they didn't offer any kind of service and flat out told me they essentially refused to install the battery even though they are supposed to. I called for a quote to get extra keys for my 2 vehicles. I have 2 working keys for 1 Ford and 2 for the other. Based on the Yelp reviews, I decided to go here versus the locksmith located in Fred Meyer's parking lot. Batteries+ had no issues with cutting the key FOBs I purchased online ($16 for one and $25 for two). I did check with a couple of hardware stores and they either didn't do key FOBS are required that you buy the key FOB from them. Today I took the blank key FOB and had it cut for $9.99 which is less than I expected. I verified it would turn on and then went through the Ford programing process for both the transponder and Fob (I had 2 working keys to start with). This took me less than 2 minutes and it works great. Total for one additional working key & FOB around $26. I'm going to take the 2 keys for my other Ford tomorrow and have both cut and only one of the transponders programmed. I should be able to program the 3rd transponder and both FOBs using Ford's programming process utilizing the vehicle ECU. I did quite a bit of research before proceeding and your path forward may be different depending on the vehicle make, model and year. Remember to read you owner's manual and check out YouTube, lots of great information that can save you a lot of money. There's also a 3rd option if you only have 1 working key, you can buy a "one and done" programming tool from Amazon for ~$64 (it can do multiple of the same key). I'm tempted to buy the commercial programming tool and use with my laptop and start a side gig doing this (it takes around 10 minutes to do the programming). I'll post an update once I complete getting the other keys cut and programmed. read more

Namely, it was a 4W 3000K R14 bulb. It goes to the secondary "one armed bandit" fixture on an IKEA floor lamp that I recently trashpicked. Their employee, Dylan, told me these ONLY accept LED lamps. Yesterday, when I tried inserting an old-fashioned incandescent bulb in there, the lamp arced and sparked, and tripped my GFCI outlet. Perhaps part of the problem was it was also wrong size bulb. Anyway, It scared me so much that I dropped the bulb on my tile floor. Luckily, it did not break. Nevertheless, I warned him to be careful when inserting the new R14 bulb that is specified on the instructions on the floor lamp. (I brought the floor lamp into the store with me.) But the new LED R14 bulb worked fine. I only wish IKEA had specifically warned not to use incandescent bulbs on the inside of the plastic lamp lens. T'IS A BATTERIES + BULBS BAZAAR, NOT A VAC SHACK JACK! Anyway, Dylan not only helped me out re: the floor lamp, but also tried to answer my question about another electrical item that I had a problem with yesterday, namely, a leaky, wet/dry vacuum cleaner that also tripped my GFCI outlet yesterday. Turns out he was not familiar with the vacuum situation. PHONE REPAIR EXPERIENCE - July 2022 We had our iPhone 7 glass and port repaired by this store and while the glass and port repair was successful, we were left with a device where the home button no longer worked.... We prepaid $150 on a Tues so they could order the parts needed for the repair for Fri. There was some hiccup about not ordering the parts as expected after paying for it, but luckily the parts did arrive later on Friday. We drop off the phone for a straightforward glass and port repair. We come by later on to pick it up. The front desk person told us that the home button is not working and the manager that worked on the device had gone home for the weekend (in retrospect, the manager should have reported the homescreen issue before taking off). We were just left having to leave the phone with them for the weekend with the expectation they would repair it. Come Saturday night, the weekend technician said he had tried his best but couldn't do anything until manager was back on Monday. Monday morning, the manager calls and opens up the conversation without a status update but by telling us how they are not liable for the home screen button not working and how they cannot give a refund or restore the old port. We never suggested any of those things, we just wanted to know how the repair was going. The disclaimer of not being responsible for home screen functionality during a screen replacement seems like something they would have to state before the repair and get acknowledgement from the customer. The manager did say they could turn on the virtual home screen and asked for my device passcode over the phone. I was hesitant since they meant they could do anything with the device, but eventually provided it. What further added to the disappointment is when we picked up the device hours later, the virtual button was not activated after having asked to unlock the phone...we definitely had the impression that this manager was having a really bad weekend and was inexplicably defensive to customers in the shop as well. End of the day, the store didn't present us with any options about what could be done and we felt it was just our fault. There was no explanation for what happened on Friday and the weekend. There was no apology for the inconvenience of losing our phone for a weekend since the Monday morning opinion was that there isn't anything that can be done about the home button from the very beginning. And there was no attempt to smooth things over. The store was just defensive. We were patient and courteous throughout the experience and let them drive how things would play out. This leaves me feeling comfortable and fair in saying that my overall experience was negative and unnecessarily unpleasant. I think it would be understandable if I decide not to return to this store for future repairs for any of my devices. I wanted to share this experience to inform others who want to make a choice about where to go for phone repairs. In summary, the phone repair side of this shop is a chaotic operation with multiple people including managers working on repairs but not able to cover each other's work; there is a lack of communication (leaving a phone non-functional and taking off weekend without informing the customer), starting a call by being defensive about not being liable for the loss of function without giving any context; and not following up what they said they would do (enabling the virtual button) and really the lack of effort at the end of everything to smooth things over. These days customer experience is the key differentiator to what makes a store stand out. I do hope the store makes some simple attitude changes as I think that could turn a terrible experience into a great experience. read more

I will never buy anything from this company. I went in looking for a simple Power Supply cord for my External hard drive. The kid behind the desk didn't know what that was, and tried to show me batteries. I tried every term I knew, "wall wart," "Power Adapter" "External Power Supply" but he didn't know what any of those things were, and he got angry and snotty with me! His co-worker tried to redirect him, but he wouldn't listen to him either. The co-worker understood what I was talking about, and made eye contact with me as I was on my way out. I went in asking for a specific battery which they said they could get, they had them brought in from two different stores after I had paid for them. They proceeded to insist to bring these batteries to my vehicle before I could inspect them. The batteries they tried to give me were a lower rated battery than what I had asked for and thought I was paying for, the proceeded to tell me it was the same exact battery with a different name. I love this store for oddball batteries and bulbs but DO NOT let them replace your iPhone screen. Either their technicians don't know what they are doing or the replacements they use are cheap POS. Either way, it will be a complete waste of your time. I had them replace my screen and after the 3rd try and 8 hours of my time, I can't unlock my phone at all rendering it completely useless. The manager from another store took my order and he said " it will be done later on today or tomorrow " I did a follow up with a phone call on Thursday and not a single one employees have a clue of where the my batteries is. On my most recent visit, there were a couple of people ahead of me in line, one just finishing up, and one with a really quick purchase, so I didn't wait long. There were some temping impulse-buy items near where I waited, but I restrained the temptation. I was there to replace the sealed lead-acid battery that provides back-up power to a phone box in my garage. (The box does something to connect the fiber-optic interface box on the outside of my garage with my Internet router and land-line phone inside the house.) Anyway, I brought the old battery in, and asked for a replacement. They offered me a choice of a replacement with the same amp-hours capacity or one of slightly larger capacity. When I heard the price, I asked whether they had a smaller one, and they did. Since it's a back-up for my Internet, and the router runs on wall power, I don't need much back-up power anyway, so I got the smaller one. I got the previous battery at an Olympia location. The stores are part of a large chain, but this location and that Olympia location are part of an eight-store chain under the same franchise ownership in the Puget Sound area. Since the local stores are under the same ownership, they're probably all pretty similar. I also asked about replacing my electronic car key battery. They had a choice of a single replacement, about $9, or any number of replacements for as long as the key remains functional, about $16. I had another errand, so I decided to defer the choice until later. read more

I recently purchased a car battery here & called ahead to see if they would install for free at this location as their website states. They said they did, so I bought online to get an extra discount & picked it up 45 minutes later. The first employee went out to my car & we opened the hood to find a tight fit around the battery and an air filter cover that needed to be removed. After removing some bolts, he was still having trouble & not being an auto mechanic/garage, he said it was too difficult & it couldn't be done there. Hardly the answer I wanted to hear on a Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend. FORTUNATELY, another employee, Stefan,(sp?) came out to check on us & said it could be done, so he took over! This young guy is the type of employee that every service oriented company dreams of having on staff. With just a little extra effort & inquisitiveness, he found the way to easily remove the filter cover & quickly proceeded to remove the old battery & install the new one! With his extra effort to make a customer happy & honoring what he told me over the phone, he changed what would've been a lost/refunded sale into a happy customer who will come again & recommend this place to others! read more

They would not honor the warranty on my truck battery which was within the warranty period. Said battery was fine and was the trucks electrical issues. I went next store to GoodYear and the ran test on the battery and said it showed under 700 cranking amps, truck needs 1000. Alternater tested fine and yes Battery is bad. Went back to BP and they basically said sorry we won't honor the warranty. What good is the warranty for then? Crooks! I went here to replace my phone screen - the were gracious enough to help me even though I scheduled the (wrong) appointment for a different location. Everyone is courteous and friendly, and got my phone screen done within an hour. However - yes, there is a however - after I got home, I noticed that the screen wasn't completely "down" (it made a click when you pressed it down and you can see inside the phone in a dark room) and was way too rough/sharp on one of the sides. I brought it in the next day and asked them to take a look at it, as this wasn't the norm with my old screen. I was told that replacement screens do this all the time and it was normal. They would not look at my phone and told me there was nothing they could do. They had two other people in the store and one was already being helped. Soooo, I took it to the Batteries Plus in Factoria and told them what I was told from the Bel-Red location. Without a second thought one of the techs took apart my phone and after a few seconds of tinkering, showed me that the frame was dented a bit, and while he fixed the screen for the moment it would pop back. He recommended using a case since it would cover the dent/that part of the screen and protect it. They did not charge me to look at my phone and it took the tech at the Factoria less than 5 minutes to help me. While the Bel-Red location is okay, all I wanted was for them to take a cursory glance at my phone and tell me why it was having this issue, not some excuse about how the replacement screen was to blame. read more

Talk about going out of your way for a customer!! I brought my phone in for screen repair and battery change. When they didn't have the battery in stock, they offered to drive to their other store, get the battery and come back to do the repairs. AND, they discounted the price from the quote the day before. The repairs were done in less time than they quoted and they moved my SIM card twice as a courtesy so I'd have a phone to receive messages about medical appts. All I have to say is I may have been had. My car key/alarm button combo gradually stopped working and assumed it was the battery. I decided to come to this place because I knew they would have the particular battery I needed. There was only one person working there at that time, with no other customers but myself. I showed him the key and told him the battery needed to be replaced. He told me he knew exactly what battery I need and asked for the key and headed to the back room and said he was going to change it for me. I thought he was going to go grab the battery and bring it back but instead he disappeared and seemingly changed the battery in the back. When he came back, he handed the key back to me and proceeded to ring me up. After I paid for the battery, I left and tested the key with the alarm - it worked fine. So less than two months later, I noticed the key alarm button began to gradually stop working and now it doesn't work at all. This battery should have still been in new condition, for the price I paid. You can draw your own conclusions from there. All I advise for you is if you are in a situation like mine, where your device's battery can be replace in-store, make sure the employee does it in front of you. Watch him/her unpack the new battery and insert it into the device with your own eyeballs. I made the mistake by trusting this person disappearing with my device, out of view - unseen. It just seems odd to me. The battery shouldn't be used up less that two months later. Like I said. Buyer beware. read more

My husband jumped his suv and drove down in traffic 10+ miles to pick up the battery and have it installed. I went in around 3pm to get a car battery replaced for a Toyota Sienna. Note: at this location if you want installation go in before 4pm as they have 2 people onsite so 1 can do the installation. Courteous service even though they were busy (acknowledge I was there). Price was decent $139 for the mid range Duracell. Installation want handle well. They actually took the effort to make sure the support plate and all items lined up. They also checked and cleaned the terminals (1 had some blue corrosion). Very happy with service and will consider them again fir future battery and bulb needs. read more
