Let's see, where to even begin? Firstly, the person working at the desk lied to me on the phone about when they'd be able to service my car (they said within a week, and when I showed up the next morning, it magically changed to two weeks later). This was NOT due to waiting for parts or anything reasonable of that nature. They just flat out lied to get me to an estimate. Secondly, when I brought this information up on the phone having called them to do the service in spite of this, the person working at the desk lied again, saying he never told me this information. Thirdly, when I pointed out he in fact did, that it was okay, but just to be more accurate when talking to customers, he hung up the phone! I called back and left a message offering to talk about it, never received a phone call. They are staffed by children. If you want to be treated with respect, AVOID. read more

They did a great job aesthetically on the vehicle. Considering the amount of damage, I understand how something might have been missed during a final quality control check... in our case, there was more than one random issue lingering and we had to take the vehicle back to get it completely fixed. They handled the rework promptly and with as minimal hassle for us as possible. Of the two employees I interacted with, one was very friendly and the other was succinct and efficient; both were knowledgeable and took good care of us. Overall, I think they did a good job and would recommend them. My insurance covered the repair so I'm not entirely sure how their prices compare to other body shops. read more

If you walk into a this body shop and run into Christian, consider yourself winning the Body-shop person lottery. I have dealt with many service industry folks over the last 50 years but never had an experience like I had after meeting Christian. I had re-filled my 5-gallon water bottle that I placed in the back seat. The bottom of the bottle broke and water came gushing out. Even using my wet vacuum cleaner was not enough the suck the water completely out under the carpet of the car. Local Audi dealer told me to take it to a body shop and they would need to remove the back seat and rip the carpet to take all the water out. And it would be very expensive! Luckily, I ran into Christian at the Roosevelt Auto body shop. He saw the stress on my face and immediately dropped what he was doing and came out to look at my car. He brought some tools to unplug some screws from the bottom of the vehicle and had another person do the dry/wet vacuum on the carpet. The entire work took around 45 minutes and when I asked Christian about the charge...he said, no charge. I am glad I was able to help you". And you can tell he was he was very sincere and happy to help. Unlike most body shops where you viewed as a transaction, Christian treated me as a human in need. I salute the Roosevelt Auto body owners to hire some one like Christian. I would highly recommend this place because they put the customer first and treat you like a family member. The service here is awful! Declined so much over the years. They don't call you and you have to hound them to get updates on your car. They email you instead and the emails go to your junk mail every time. They delayed the repair of my car for two weeks for a simple repair. My bumper was peeling away through ABSOLUTELY NO FAULT OF MY OWN. Except that's not entirely true. Apparently bumper panels don't appreciate you hopping curbs with your car weighed down with one tenth of your worldly possessions on your final midnight run from Bainbridge Island to your new home on the mainland. Apparently this can dislodge them and put you at great risk of having to spend a few hundred bucks to have all those stupid (plastic?!) joiner bits reordered or re-soldered or mysteriously re-attached. Sigh. But driving around held together with duct tape is a little too 20-something for me, so in I went to get this bumper thing resolved. Customer service here is unbelievably attentive. I'd dropped in unannounced and was seen to immediately. Within minutes, I had a fresh cup of Keurig in my hands and was awaiting an immediate quote. The quote was itemized and I knew just what to expect. My car was returned to me perfect-bumper fixed and damage undetectable-the next day...and get this...it was UNDER the estimate. That. Never. Happens. Much followup after the service to ensure I was happy, and friendly, professional treatment at every milestone. If some asshole drives my car over a curb again in the middle of the night--even if that asshole is me--I will be coming back in to get loved on by Roosevelt Auto Collision. read more

Back in mid-August my car got keyed. As everyone knows, this is a horrible experience. My insurance, Allstate, looked at the damage, gave an estimate and recommended Roosevelt Auto Body Collision 1 and I couldn't have been happier. They were very nice, helpful, and not only did they get the job done in a timely fashion, they did an AMAZING JOB! I would recommend this place to anyone who needs a paint job and would take my car here again if I had the unfortune of it getting keyed again. ...Jump two months later and my damn car got keyed again. I have a lot of experience with auto body shops. Nothing serious, but I really tend to bump into things or get bumped in to on a quarterly basis. The guys at Roosevelt Auto Body were fantastic with the repair of my husband's car from a hit-and-run and my car with a run-in with a gate in the parking garage I've been parking in for a year (where did that thing COME from anyways?). We had a slight miscommunication on the estimate (my fault for not reviewing what exactly I wanted done) but Drew handled it like a pro, the team fixed my car like new, and the cost came in under the revised estimate and the car was done incredibly quickly (3 days). The service here has gone downhill in the last 6 months. My car has gone back one to have part of the last work done redone and is still not correct and will be going back again. There is dust in the paint, there were places where the paint had been burned through when they buff their work. The inside door jar which had no damage came back with huge areas with no paint, scratches, the door gasket was hanging down when I opened the door, and there are huge sanding scratches in the body of the car under the paint that are very visible. I can not say enough good things about this place. The first time I encountered them was a couple years ago when I backed into my cleaning lady's car and it didn't make sense for us to go through insurance. She wanted to use Roosevelt and they were fair and ended up coming back under their original quote which I found amazing. The second time we used them when my husband needed some body work done and we went back to them because of the great customer service. Again, they did a magnificent job, both with the auto body work, and with keeping us in the loop with time frames and such. This last time I had to go through someone else's insurance because I was hit. I had to wait a few weeks to have the work done because they were so busy, but it was worth the wait. Not only did they do such a top notch job on the actual job, but when Allstate wouldn't cover my rental car for the extent of the job, Roosevelt insisted upon covering the remainder of the cost of the rental, due to a part taking slightly longer to come in. In my opinion this was above and beyond what I had ever expected. They kept in constant contact with me and did a superb job with everything. I don't know a ton about cars, but I really appreciate their honesty and their hard work and will always return, and refer people. read more

If there was a way to give a higher rating, I would. I brought my wife's van in to repair some self inflicted damage to the side of the van. The staff gave me the option of repairing the damage or replacing the door. They were up front with the costs and timeframe. We decided to have the damage repaired and were told it would take a full week to complete. I was fine with that and dropped the van on Monday. They called on Thursday to tell me it would be ready Friday. So they finished the work a day earlier and when I got there, the bill was less then the quote. I would have given them 5 stars just for that BUT when I got in the van they had cleaned the entire thing. Those of you with little kids know how dirty a car can get so to have the whole van cleaned as if it was a new cat was above and beyond. These guys seem to be technically capable, and they're good at schmoozing the customer. I wouldn't say that they're out-and-out scammers, but they're definitely not your friend. Unless you like giving up your car for weeks at a time and have an insurance company willing to pay a lot more than other shops charge for the same work, you could do a lot better than Collision 1. I went to their U-District shop about two months ago to get an estimate on repairing some scrapes to my left-side doors and trim. I used to live near their Northgate shop. I'd been impressed that their lot was always packed with cars being worked on, and the owner seemed like a good guy from the times I saw him around the neighborhood. Unfortunately, it looks like they've had a change in ownership and/or management in the last few years. The guys at the U-District shop quoted me almost $8K and two weeks' time for the job. It's my understanding that they don't actually repair things: they just replace and color match whatever part is damaged. They claimed it would take them 72 hours (!!) to complete a job that basically amounted to installing and painting two doors and doing some blending and trim work. I initially agreed, but I started to get suspicious. I don't have a lot of experience with body repair, but it seemed like they were asking for an awful lot more than was really needed, both in money and time. The next day I found a skilled and reputable body shop who agreed to do the job in one week, for a lot less than Collision 1 was asking for. As in multiple thousands of dollars less. And as demonstrated by the photos he took during the process, this still included his putting in a lot of highly difficult, labor-intensive manual work, as opposed to the Collision 1 approach of throwing everything away and installing new (or refurbished) parts. I have a funny personality quirk: I don't like talking to people who I believe are trying to take advantage of me. I called Collision 1's U-District shop after business hours a few nights later to leave a message cancelling the job. The phone rang endlessly without any pickup. The same thing happened on other nights. In the year 2015, they don't have voicemail. I called their Northgate shop at least twice and left messages there, as that location had taken the plunge and installed one of those new-fangled voicemail systems we hear so much about these days. They never passed the messages on to the U-District shop. Apparently, their company culture is so dysfunctional that the different shops don't even talk to each other. Like it would be some giant burden for them to take a minute or two to call their fellow Collision 1 employee at the other shop and tell them the job was cancelled. The fact that the various shops aren't even willing to make a phone call or install a voicemail system doesn't say a lot about their real attitude toward customer service, along with their sky-high charges and incredible time demands. I noticed other odd little indicators of their true attitude toward the customer here and there, like being told condescendingly with a smirk that "There's no such thing as factory paint. The car companies get their paint from the same places we do." OK, that's fine, but you don't need to make it seem like I'm like an idiot just for asking about it. It may not seem like much, but those random little discourtesies that crop up in their behavior are often a better indicator of where a business is really coming from than the bigger things that they're more careful about hiding from you. PS: Notice how they've had 30 reviews over a period of seven years, but haven't taken a few minutes to respond to a single one of them? I'd say that's another one of those little indicators of their real attitude toward their customers. read more

The first time they fixed my car, I chose them primarily because they were the closest shop to me. They were convenient. I was very satisfied with the results though. In fact, I was so impressed that I chose them yet again even though I've moved since. It was worth the drive, not just because they do such good work, but because of the customer service I receive. I brought an insurance claim in for some body work. After that, zero communication, nothing. No instructions on time estimate for pick up, no courtesy call with updates. I finally call and am told as an afterthought that yes, the car could be picked up today. Left work an hour early to reach the place on time and called to inform them that I was three blocks away and almost there. The front desk bluntly informs me that they will not wait two minutes for me to pick my car up. Ok fine. My bad for being two minutes late past closing time. I pick the car up another day. No "Hi come in" or "Please have a seat I will be right with you". Just a bored glance and some mumbled instructions reminiscent of going through the chow line in the navy. The paint looks fine but 4-5 inches of molding from the soft top is loose and sticking out / slightly over sprayed. When I next get gas, I find that the entire gas cap vestibule is - still filled with masking tape. Seems like the body work is done ok but the installation is rushed and sloppy. There was obviously no quality control check before job sign off. The attitude of everyone in the place can best be described as surly teenagers, irritated about having to talk to a customer. Not really rude and not really polite. Definitely not forthcoming or helpful considering I just brought $1,700 into their coffers. They will do a good enough paint job if you can stand dealing with the rest. read more

Every person I spoke with was pleasant, but the amount of times I had to call them back and follow-up to get information throughout the process was absolutely ridiculous. The initial fix went smoothly other than a few mishaps... I went in to pick up my car to find a large piece (that was glaringly obvious) was missing. I called them the following day and they said they would order the piece (somehow they had failed to order it in the first place and never communicated to me that there would be parts missing upon completion) and that it would be there in a week. So, I call a week later and they tell me it should be in by 3pm the following day and that they would call me when they receive it. I called them the following day at 4pm and they were unsure if they had the part and had to go check if it was there. After finally getting the piece installed I notice another piece on the body of the car is missing. Either it had not been installed correctly and fell off, or the somehow decided that that piece did not need to be replaced without mentioning anything to me. Again, the issue was handled and they did order a replacement, but I continued to have to be the one to initiate any sort of contact to get updates. While they were professional every time I reached out, they continued to act as though they would be the first to reach out when there were any updates but failed to follow-through. Beyond this, I am baffled at how many items can be so easily missed when repairing a car. Is there no structure to be sure that a job is actually completed? I hope to god that they don't do the same when fixing things that are essential for a car to function effectively... read more

Thank You Roosevelt Auto Body for a GREAT experience! I chose this place on a whim and did not even do any research but went with my gut feeling and I am certainly glad I did. After being rear ended by a lady with no insurance I went in to just see what the damage was and Justin was able to look at the car and email an estimate shortly after. Over the next few weeks of trying to get the funds from the lady who did the damage the gang at R.A.B. were extremely helpful with all my questions. I finally was able to get her to pay and we proceeded with the repair. My car was fixed within a day and a half! I was expecting a 2 week turn around time and was excited to get the call saying it was all done! Beyond the repair they were kind enough to wash my car, windows, and even vacuumed out my car! When I got into my car it felt brand new! Justin also walked me to my car and gave me an overview of what they all did. A true professional company. Katy at the front desk was a delight. Always a smile on her face even at 8am with 4 people ready to pick up or drop off their cars. Extremely helpful as well and deserves a huge thank you from me! Where do I start? Not only do they do quality work, they treat you well, do what they say they are going to do, and keep you informed along the way. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else! This place is simply the best. Their customer service is excellent and their repairs are quality. I had my car repaired in 2012 and they did great work. Since then, there was an issue with it (long story, but basically something should have been repaired during that 2012 repair, but wasn't so it posed an issue a couple years later) and so I took my car back not actually expecting them to do it for free according to their Life Time Guarantee, because really, there are no guarantees in life. Disclaimer - definitely not affiliated with this establishment. Dear Yelp, I love and hate you. There, it's off my chest, so I'll explain: my 2010 Beetle convertible was hit by someone running a red light. My insurance company had a list of at least a dozen of their "preffered" shops to choose from. After checking all their reviews here on Yelp, I choose Roosevelt based on the higher percentage of good feedback over the others. In fact, I was very confident this was going to be an easily managed process, ending with my car back where she was before she was hit. Au contraire. I can never dispute the polite and engaging communication I received with everyone I spoke with over the shop; Kristen, Grant went over and above answering any questions I had, and keeping me informed, including emailing me each and every picture of the damages and parts of my car add she was disassembled- heck each image was even labeled with what I was looking at! So what can I day at this point- great front office with an outstanding intake protocol- if ONLY their execution service was held to the same standard. I get the call to come and get her. Finally. (not completely their fault, but was exactly 27 days for $4200 right front fender, wheel & bumper repair) Me? = a very, very happy person just to get her (okay, I call her Bette) back, and not looking too close at the details... Aside from noticing 2 glaringly OBVIOUS differences right off the bat. There is close to a one inch gap between the hood and the fender on the right side, yet she's sealed up like a ziplock baggie on the left. I mention it to Grant, and his reply was, "we get it as close as we can". I then pointed out what an odd spot on her undamaged hood- "oh, it came to us that way, you must have caught a rock on the highway. I gotta tell you, the mark could resemble that, but why does it have scratches about two inches from the center of it, going around in a perfect swirly circle? And no, this was no attempt to "buff-it-out"- the center mark is missing paint down to the metal. Yes people, I left with her. That was as all I could see, and I'd had enough. I only wish that I could say my saga ends there, but it truly spirals deeper and deeper into the oil pit rather quickly from there. A broken clip in the passenger door that caused window damage, their response "there was no damage to the door so we didn't look at it. We don't do a 100 point check when a claim vehicle comes in. How do we know it wasn't like this already?" from Grant, the same Service Technician who did all of the work on her. The exterior damage went as close to 8" away from the door with fluids coming out and a wheel turned upwards into the body. A 2010 vehicle with 10k miles, just had it's 10k service 30 days prior, really? There were electrical related issues add well- her top wouldn't go all of the way down on the left side... she was still messed up. They wouldn't/WON'T own it. Do you have tens of thousands of dollars in disposable income? Then this place might be for you. But for regular people I would strongly urge you to find another shop. I came in to have them look at my bumper which started to fall off after I hit some trash on the freeway. $3000 to have it replaced. I couldn't believe it because it looked fine. I then took it to the dealership. For $200 they told me I did not need to replace it and reattached it for me and fixed all my motion sensors. Didn't expect to save money at the dealership. This was my third time coming back to Roosevelt Auto body and every time I felt cheated and disappointed by their services. Now I actually have some concrete proof to never go back. read more

Highly recommended, I went in after my car had been "keyed" and they had it fixed within my time limits and looking like new. The enthusiatic staff are helpful and courteous. I had a fantastic experience here. It didn't hurt that it was free because someone had hit me while I was parked so their insurance footed the bill. But these guys got me in right away, told me where to get a rental while my car was in the shop, and delivered my car back to me a day earlier than they originally estimated. When I dropped it off, my daughter asked if it would be clean when we got it back. I said, "I doubt it. They're just fixing the hood". But when I got it back, it WAS clean. Sparkling inside and out. A guy in the office stepped over to a computer and started coming up with times to get an estimate on a different day. Christian did a fantastic job repairing the damage to my car and even took care of a few other minor issues that had been bugging me free of charge. Katy at the front desk is super friendly which is great when you're at the tail end of a long day and have to deal with damage on your car... To top it off, I got my car back even better than I brought it in -- they actually cleaned out my (embarrassingly messy) car for me! Every single employee at Roosevelt Auto Body have been incredibly pleasant to work with. It's so refreshing to deal with an auto shop where the employees treat you with not an ounce of condescension. I had to have my 2000 Honda Civic repaired after an accident that was not my fault, and they did a great job not only fixing the car inside and out, but also dealing with the insurance agents and rental car facilities. The lifetime warranty on the repairs is a great bonus...when I had to bring the car back after noticing one minor creaking sound emitting from the dashboard, they repaired the problem with no hesitation and no charge. Such a great experience. I dropped my car off and they arranged for my rental pickup. Then just a mere two days later they had completed my repairs and all was done perfectly. In addition, they washed the car, vacuumed and cleaned the inside, and fixed a broken piece on my trunk for free! (somethjng the Subaru dealer had quotes me over $200 to get fixed). Overall: Honest, fast and welcoming. I scraped my car along a wooden fence, incurring some scratches, dings and a lot of paint transfer. I drove over before work this morning and asked for a free estimate. Within minutes, I was offered coffee and a focused guy was looking at the damage. He told me I could sit down, and it only took him 5 minutes to clean all the paint off, buff the area, and glue a new rubber piece to the rim (that had been torn off). I was on my way quickly, completely free of charge. Even though this was a minor fix, it made me want to support their business and commend their generous attitude. If I need real repair work done, I would bring my car here because they seem to take care of their customers. I gave 4 out of 5 stars because I am not knowledgeable of their more complicated services. So, I had to have my bank fax some docs to this new apt Ism.moving into. Apparently, my bank messed up a big time and faxed it to a wrong place which happens to be this auto body repair shop. I started freaking out since the document had all my personal information on it and started googling who that fax number belonged to. I found out this auto shop's phone number and called thwm right away. The guy on the phone was already aware of the wrong fax they had received and even offered me if I wanted them to fax it to the right place. I asked the guy on the phonw to hold it for me to go grab it personally and he did!!!!! I've never written any type of review before but felt so inclined to spread the good word about these people that here I am. Each time I was in their office or talking to someone on the phone, I experienced the best customer service and total kindness. When I dropped my car off they were sensitive to my tender post accident mood (so appreciated!), very helpful and communicative, and extremely kind and warm in general. Picking my car up was perhaps even better: it was beautifully repaired, washed, AND detailed inside. To put the cherry on top, they gave me a Starbucks card when I paid. Unheard of! And so appreciated! I will recommend them over and over again, and never go anywhere else. Not only are these people good at what they do, they are truly wonderful people too! read more
