Had the driver side front fender replaced, bumper painted, and some paint blending done on the door on a 2015 GTI from a hit-and-run. Place did a great job, paint matched exactly, seams matched up well, finished it fairly fast, and the communication throughout the process was great. They were able to source an OEM fender through one of their dealership connections and not some random cheap aftermarket part (which insurance prefers) which I appreciated. There's a VW enthusiast on staff that is knowledgeable about these cars that does the repairs. While not VW certified, they are Volvo certified which made me more comfortable with this place than somewhere without any euro car certifications. If you have a Safeco/Liberty Mutual insurance claim and are looking for a direct repair/preferred shop for whatever insurance it is and have a VW, give this place a look. read more

These guys are GREAT! I like a nice looking car so have used Cook's several times. Always honest and helpful doing good work.

The important thing is that the work was terrific. Paint matches, looks great. HOWEVER, I was told they needed the car for 2 weeks. But at the end of the second week, they told me they needed it one more week (and this was only because I called - they never even called me!). Obviously my car sat for the first week with no work. I had no second car and no rental car insurance so this was a huge problem on top of the fact that I was scheduled to leave town on vacation (plans cancelled!!!). I find this kind of service to be far less than great. They do great work but they suffer from poor planning. read more

Had a surprisingly good experience with Cook's. They replaced the bumper on our 20-year-old-old Volvo. It looks great. Unfortunately, the part came to them unpainted and unexpectedly raised the cost of the project. The general manager, Jean Richard, was very gracious and accommodating. In the end, we paid 10% above the original estimate, and Cook's covered the rest. I'd recommend exploring possible contingencies when you get your estimate (and any associated costs), but I'd also be confident that you're working with a team that values its own integrity and your satisfaction. At last, an honest auto repair shop! I had a great experience at Cook's Auto Rebuild today when I requested an estimate for the damaged passenger side mirror of my Subaru Impreza. I told the estimator, Chris, that I thought the pieces could possibly be snapped back together. He took a look and, sure enough, was able to pop the parts back in place. I also requested an estimate for some paint repairs to the bumpers. He gave me a fair quote and reassured me that if I opted not to do the repairs, my car wouldn't rust. No upselling or B.S.! I had excellent service at Cook's Auto Rebuild today! Everybody I interacted with was very friendly and professional. They went above and beyond to explain my options to fix a dent in my fender that was interfering with the opening of the door. In the end I decided not to get the whole fender repaired but they bent it a bit to stop it from hitting the door at no charge. They also told me how to find the code for the exact color of touch up paint that I would need. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend them. read more

I was hit from the side due to the other driver merging without properly looking and I went to this shop because they were close to my location. My car was expected to be in the shop for about a week, but Cook's team ordered OEM parts ahead of time and it took only 3 days for the repairs! I was pleasantly surprised when I got their call so early. The repairs look fantastic and the colors match as if the accident never happened. One thing I wish they would do is have some type of contract with a car detailer, so once they are done with the repairs, the detailer would clean the dust from having the doors open during the repair. But it's not a deal breaker because as far as the repairs are concerned, I couldn't be happier, thank you! read more

I can't say enough good things about this team. I was in a hit and run that left my car extremely close to totaled. Cooks worked with me from estimate to finish- working hard to make sure that my insurance company was held accountable to what they owed and l giving me the best deal with what insurance was willing to pay (I went through 3 progressive agents). They even saved me from Enterprise Rental car scams (when enterprise says "insurance doesn't cover taxes"- it means that they are charging you to your insurances allowable rental limit and making extra odd of you paying the taxes) by letting me know about the above scam. I can't vouch for these guys enough. Honest work, good customer service, and finding ways to get you the best repair deal- especially when going through insurance. The entire passenger side of my Volvo was badly damaged when someone hit me, and when I asked around, Cook's was highly recommended. Now I'm the one recommending them. This is a very professional, well-run shop. Everyone I dealt with was knowledgable, friendly and efficient. The customer service and communication were both excellent. I especially appreciated the woman at the front desk--she was really smart and could keep multiple balls in the air while giving each the attention needed, and doing it all with patience and a smile. This auto shop was supposed to replace my bumper. My husband zip ties my bumper so it would make it to the shop. The shop cut off the zip tie my husband put on to secure the bumper with another zip tie and charged my insurance 3k for a new bumper which was never installed. Don't trust them!!! I never would have noticed except my husband got up close to the "repair" and was pissed. They had my car for a week for this repair! So now I have to arrange for another shop to actually fix my car! read more

This is an honest business that does high quality work, I have used them almost half a dozen times since 1980's and have always been very satisfied with the work they have done on my car. In fact I have had a tough time noticing what they had done after the work is completed because everything looks brand new. They work with all insurance companies and help with car rentals, and getting the work done with your car insurance's bid. I never paid extra ever. I am very happy I found them, now I just hope that the bad driver's stay away from my car after I get it fixed again. read more

Cook's Auto Rebuild repaired a front end collision I had over the summer of 2015 with a semi-truck for me and I could not be more satisfied with their service and professionalism. Damage: The front bumper and headlight assembly, front passenger quarter panel, front passenger door, and side view mirror were all damaged during the wreck. Repair: They replaced everything that was damaged perfectly. This was my first accident in my 32 years of life and as a past lot attendant and detail employee of Carter Motors I have seen many body shops unsuccessful attempts at repairing collision damage. I tried to contain my pessimism over the outlook of the repair and Jeff (at Cook's Rebuild) assured me that they would do the best they could. Result: Their finished product is second to none. I honestly couldn't have been happier with their work. All of my initial concerns and worries about loose bolts or residual rattling noises from the accident were all absolved over the past year. Absolutely amazing work! They even buffed out some previous paint bubbling from the previous owner and made it look better than it was before the accident. Service: Every time I called their office I was able to speak to someone about my vehicle and was given prompt updates to the progress of their work. I was never out of the loop. Summary: Places like Cook's are a rarity these days. From the initial quote, to the insurance handling, repair, and send-off, they are a complete business. This place is amazing! I have never had an easier car repair experience in my life. My car was hit and needed the bumper cover replaced, and I found Cook's Auto Rebuild while looking for a repair shop along my route to work. I submitted a picture on their website and got a quote back that same day. I didn't even have to drop the car off! With a full time job and a baby, this saved me so much time and stress right before Christmas. Not only was Jeff super friendly and helpful, but he was able to order the part and get my car fixed all within the week before Christmas. He handled payment from the at-fault driver and also gave me some warnings about handling payment from her over the phone (could dispute it later, etc.) Also, I was able to drop the car off before they opened. John happened to arrive as I was dropping it off and noticed I forgot my phone in my car. He even chased me down at a nearby bus stop to give me my phone back. Beware this place. I had a rear bumper damaged in a car wash, and Bob Byers Volvo recommended Cook's for the replacement of the bumper. First, they said there would be a 5-week wait, while the ordered and obtained the part. Then when I showed up at the appointed day, they said the part hadn't arrived (they never called to change the time). When I went back after the part arrived and left the car, they called me to say that they didn't have the assembly to attach the bumper and I would have to pay an additional $145! I had already settled with the insurance company for the $950 Cook's had told me. So now I have to pay an additional $145? It was either their mistake in the estimate or they were just extorting me for more money after they knew I was already committed to them. I chose not to have them do the repair. Then get this part - they said they would send the part to Bob Byers Volvo and I could choose to have someone else install it. So is Byers in league with Cook's? A kickback? I don't know what kind of work Cook's does, but their business practices are certainly shady. Terrible experience! Stay away! read more

Had to take my car in after the thanksgiving-weekend snow storm that hit Seattle this winter. Damage was mostly contained to the right front bumper of my SUV. On State Farm's list of approved repair shops, I found Cook's as it was one of the closest locations I could find. I was really nervous about going to any repair shop as I don't know a lot about cars, and I wouldn't know if I was being overcharged or anything like that. But I read here on yelp! great reviews about Cook's auto so I decided to go for it. Made an appointment online and talked to State Farm. A lady from Cook's called me literally 10 minutes after I talked to State Farm to make sure I made an appointment. Took my car in the next day for an estimate. Showed up 10 minutes early and filled out a simple form, and within 5 minutes, they were taking a look at my car. The guy was really nice and asked me how my day was, and took interest in my Nissan and asked how I liked it. Took a look at the damage and seemed very familiar with the build of cars and started commenting on what he thought might be damaged beneath the surface. He brought to light the fact that there may be more damages that they find when they take off the coverings to the bumpers so he'll leave the estimates for those parts open ended. After about 15 minutes, he had snapped a bunch of pictures and we were back inside as he wrote up the official estimate for my vehicle. He also gave me a business card for a nearby car-rental place that they recommend. The quoted time for the repair after the parts come in is 2-3 days! I was really surprised with how easy the process was and how personable the people were. I'll update this review when I return to actually get the repair done. Cook's has been such a relief to find after my truck (2015 Toyota Tacoma) was hit. Following a seemingly never ending battle with insurance, an uninsured driver, and an uncommunicative auto body shop, I moved my truck here for repairs. Jeff took over all communication with my insurance company and even coordinated bringing my truck to Toyota when there were repairs they couldn't do on-sight. I was kept in the loop the entire way and they even let me come into the shop and watch while they had it up on the rack. In the end, I ended up paying less than the estimate and Jeff was able to get all OEM parts price matched to the ones my insurance company wanted put in. These guys were SO AMAZING with my lil' bummer of an accident. They helped me dicker with the other party's insurance, and they let me leave the car there for a couple weeks (WEEKS--taking up space on their lot) so that it would be there when the insurance adjuster got around to looking at it. I recently got my brand new car fixed here after someone T-boned me. Cook's gave me an estimate and I also got an estimate from my insurance company. I noted that my insurance company gave me an estimate that would cost FAR LESS than the one I received from Cook's. I personally investigated the matter further to find out that my insurance company was basing its estimate off used parts which of course would cost far less to replace, etc., and it did NOT take into consideration hidden damage that Cook's found and was noted in their estimate. Unfortunately, my car sat there for several days while my insurance company fought Cook's for the costs to repair my vehicle. Basically, my insurance company would be short changing Cook's by hundreds of dollars and forcing them to put used parts (2010) on my 2017 vehicle! In conclusion, Cook's kept me abreast of the matters. Having worked in the insurance industry myself, I know right off the bat that insurance companies control the auto repair market and try to keep costs as absolutely low as possible even if it means dismissing hidden damage, using used parts, etc. More importantly, Cook's was very transparent with me (showing me documentation) and I sincerely appreciated their efforts in protecting me as the customer against my own insurance company. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND COOK'S! They are fantastic and also have a lovely labrador that will come and say HI! I also learned that they have been in business since 1947! Wish I could give them more than five stars. I scratched my car badly and had less than a week to fix it before my parents (who are paying for the car) came back from a trip. I was TERRIFIED. I immediately called around and Jean, the manager said he could have me come in for a consultation. He was truthful, responsive, and completely understanding about the situation. He heard out me and my concerns, and seemed to genuinely care about it. He was truthful and told me he would try his best, but there was no guarantee. I left my car with the shop, and low and behold, when the day came around, I got the call that it was finished and my car was ready for pick up. I almost cried when I heard the message because of how much stress and worry was lifted from my shoulders. When I got to the shop, who were super understanding about me being late and coming a few minutes before closing (completely my fault), my car looked SPECTACULAR. IT WAS LITERALLY LIKE IT NEVER HAPPENED!!! The exposed metal and scratches were gone, the fender plastic rim was replaced, and even the detail of the slightly pushed in/dented metal was somehow undented. I swear they do magic or something because it was beautiful. I cannot say enough good things about this shop, the manager is wonderful, the front desk lady was so sweet and caring, the other staff members were so reassuring, AND there is an adorable friendly super cute doggie that I got to pet there. I will recommend this place to all of my friends, and cannot thank them enough for pulling through and saving my butt, when I screwed up. read more

Our MDX was damaged after someone accidentally backed in to it. We had some friends recommend Cooks and decided to give them a try. Setting up the initial appointment was easy and after getting a reasonable estimate we decided to have the repairs done. Communication with Cooks was very easy, job was done on time and within the estimated price. Quality of work is excellent too. What more can I say? I absolutely love this place. I'm in the process of re-doing an old Toyota Land Cruiser and took it to them on the recommendation of a friend. They were just amazing, totally went the extra mile. Ended up having them remove all the glass and doors as this was a color change as well. The body work (couple of small rust spots) was done and I'd challenge any expert to find where the patches were welded in. I was also eliminating some of the cheap OEM plastic chrome and had them weld those holes up as well. Then the paint. I've had a few cars re-painted before and I have to say this is by far the best quality job I've had done. This paint job is better than factory original. I went with a custom color and the guys were a great help in mixing up at least 10 different color cards for me to help me choose. The pride and skill of their work is excellent. I know this review probably sounds too good to be true to you, but when something actually blows away every hope you had for the end result what else are you going to do. This place rocks. The thing is turning heads everywhere I go. Was this cheap, no, if you want cheap go to maaco. I wish I could say I didn't need Cook's in my life, but thanks to the freaks who repeatedly hit my parked car and take off without a note, I do. I first went to Cook's in ~1996 when someone rammed into the driver's side door of my '93 Integra while practicing his/her driving skills (no kidding) in the nearly empty parking lot of my college. The person took off and no one got the license plate, so I had to fork over the deductible to repair My Precious. Didn't know which repair company to trust, but my car insurance company at the time suggested Cook's. When I picked up My Precious, I was very impressed. The workmanship (workpersonship?) was stellar. I was so satisfied with Cook's I returned when someone else hit My Precious. Again, no note from the evil Sauron who hit me, but another wonderful repair job from Cook's. Then, someone stole My Precious. Probably Smeagol. Shortly afterward, I adopted another Integra, an older one that had been around the block a few times. I began to warm up to my new car when someone else smacked it. Sigh. At least the Hobbit left a note so I didn't have to pay a deductible. Cook's again surpassed my expectations. In 2004 I bought a new Mazda 3. I don't know if my vehicles have a "hit me" sensor built into them, but the Mazda got it, too. Another successful Cook's interface. Last week I went to my parked car and found a tree branch had fallen on the hatch gate and rear bumper. The damage didn't appear serious, but I knew I would be bummed if I didn't get it fixed. I went to Cook's for an estimate, and the nice gentleman said he could take the vehicle in and try to rub out the scratch marks. I blinked and must've looked at him kinda funny because he followed that with, "It wouldn't cost you anything." Wow. Did I hear this right? I took him up on the offer. His efforts were obvious, but unfortunately there was a dent or two underneath the layer of dirt my vehicle had accumulated since its last wash. As it turns out, the estimate was $1300. Yikes. I'm very thankful for a $200 deductible. I just got off the phone with Cook's, and they will be working on my car while I'm out of town, and have the job completed upon my return. Based upon my past experience, I know I'll get my car when they say it will be finished, and it will look fantastic. I think Gandalf the Grey runs the place. read more

Pros: nice owner, appears to be good repair work Cons: expensive, went over quoted price without informing me I'd describe Cooks Auto Rebuild as good, but not great. Outside of garbage auto shops like Maaco, it's hard to know what body shop to use. This place had good reviews so I gave it a shot. The repair job was done well, but I felt a bit ripped off after leaving here. They quoted me at a rate higher than most shops but I said "what the heck, they're nice enough". I get my bill a few days later and they came in $200 over the quoted price. If I knew it would be so expensive I would not have used them. My advice to potential customers: expect them to "over promise, under deliver" on the price, but you will be happy with them otherwise. read more

My car was recently T-boned and I was referred to Cook's. They were very prompt in completing a quote for my insurance company. It was the first time I was in a major accident and they were excellent in explaining the process and my options. I called many times with questions and they always had the answer. If only my insurance company could have been as quick and efficient as these guys. Eventually my car was deemed to be a total loss. After I had said an emotional farewell to my vehicle and cleaned her out they even gave me a ride home. I regret that my insurance company didn't give them more business, because they deserve it. My poor little Ford Focus was badly beaten up by a big meanie Hit'n'Run. I'd heard good things about Cook's, so gave them a call. They got me in for an appraisal the same day, and scheduled the repair for 3 days later. 4 days after that, I picked up my car which looked fabulous. It was like having a new car all over again - there was even a kind of "new car smell" to it. They did the work for exactly the price that my insurance company had appraised, so there was no adjusting or negotiating necessary. I was amazed at how easily it went. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars, not 5, is because the staff were, shall we say, minimalist in their communication. Since it was the first time I'd dealt with that kind of damage, I had no idea how long the work might take--one day? Two weeks? No clue. They didn't help me out with any supplementary information about the process, and they made me feel a bit silly for asking things like: How long might it take? How does it work with insurance? Will you call if there is a problem with the appraisal amount? Etc. That part was like pulling teeth. But I couldn't be happier with the repairs done. If I ever need body work done again, I won't bother shopping around. I'll go straight to Cook's. And now I kind of know how it works, I won't need any staff person to hold my hand! read more
